It's awesome! My cardiologist is still here - which is incredible because he is thee specialist for my specific cancer. Within the past month (1/1/21), i have had a ECHO - sadly, the guy i had wasn't very pleasant but i believe he got the job done. I've had many ECHO's done and usually the staff has been friendly and warm. He, was not one - he needed to place a dye in me to be able to see my results, yet i advised for him to use whichever arm was best for him and he barely looked at one and said "I'll try this one and if this one doesn't work, ill just use the other." I'd rather not be poked more than i have to be. Same day, i had an Ultrasound to look at my bladder/kidneys and she was super kind and made me feel at ease. There are two floors At the entrance - there are wheelchairs, if needed. Theres a vending machine at the entrance for some snacks. Chairs that are spread out, screen upstairs to let you know if your Doctor is on time or running a bit behind. Check in employees have been friendly and as thorough as possible with the repetitive script they need to say to each patient. I'm glad there is a location that's on my side of town that I'm able to go to every once in awhile instead of having to make the drive to downtown Portland.

I made a comment about their recorded message and how frustrating it was and her reply to me was "well no one has ever complained about if before" as if my comment held no merit at all. I asked her to pass my comment onto her supervisor and again she recited that it has never been an issue before. I left feeling very disrespected by these two young women. I would suggest they need some customer service training with the elderly!

They told me that I have to have a designated driver. I told them I use Uber (who has a designated driver available middle of the week?) I took Uber and when I arrived, I showed them my ride receipt. They were incredibly weird about it. They wanted to know the name of the Uber driver who will pick me up (how should I know who will accept the ride in an hour??). Then they told me it was only 15 minutes (I would not have asked for sedation if I knew it was 15 minutes)They made me schedule an Uber while they are watching (I kid you not), and then proceeded to be 20 minutes late so I almost missed the Uber. And in the meantime, they make me bring the phone back again and prove yet again I booked an Uber. I didn't appreciate a) the bad information given to me, b) unfriendly, unwelcoming receptionist that made me feel like I am a criminal or something, c) their tardiness (there was no one else waiting) d) repeated proof that I called an Uber. As if I would take an Uber and drive back? how does that even make sense? Horrible place, they probably pay very little and get low quality front office. I get that they are worried about liability, but treating someone like a liar, multiple times, and giving bad information is uncalled for. This place charged me 1500 or so for a 15 minute imaging, yet they can't seem to hire competent front staff that treats you with dignity. I would find a different MRI place, clearly this place seem to be more about maximizing profits. Also make sure to open the SMS message that confirms your appointment because there is a link at the very end to fill forms (which is not at all obvious). Most places that confirm appointment do not burry additional to do's at the very end (which is very easy to miss if you just see the preview of the message and assume it's just confirmation. This place has a long way to go to be customer friendly.

After going to Oregon Natural Medicine for past breast thermography…read morework, where on the last appointment they never bothered telling me in advance that I should not have had it done while undergoing IVF (because the hormones will often give false readings), I got to know Candace whose pure focus is on thermography and, unlike ONM, Candace will actually talk to you about your results (ONM won't talk to you about your results unless you are a patient of their ND or pay extra!). She will share what she knows but also defer to the MD experts for the interpretation of the results. Along with her knowledge, sincerity and kindness, I also appreciated that she has a truly holistic view on healthcare, and isn't weird about people going to MDs as part of their healthcare either, so I trust her much more than the other places that discount the benefits of actual MDs. With breast thermography being a great way to non-intrusively scan the body for potential issues (finding breast cancer up to 10 years before a mammogram, by the way) without any radiation going into the body. Whether you use it solely or in conjunction with other preventative measures, thermography is a great way to keep an eye on what's going on in your body (while we were there she took an extra shot of my lower back as I have been in recovery from a herniated disc, and it was great to see where the pain was localized). Anyhow, highly recommend Candace for thermography - she's a great resource and a good human being to boot.

My doctor ordered an "US RETROPERITONEAL COMPLETE" (medical speak for an ultrasound of my kidneys…read moreand bladder). Seems my kidney function is in a slight decline. Most likely due to a medication I'm taking - let's hope so anyway. I must have been the last appt of the day as when I got to the hospital the place was absolutely dead. It was quiet like a library. Even got a parking spot on the street right across the street. How does THAT happen in downtown Portland??? But don't fret, they have free valet parking at the front entrance. Just pull up and a nice man comes out, gives you a pickup ticket and parks your car for you. Anyway, I had already checked in online -if you don't do this ahead of time you really need to. It saves so much time and you you don't have to answer all the same questions over and over or pull out your ID and proof of insurance cards. At the door I was COVID-screened and then checked in at the Main Desk. I was directed to take the elevator to the 2nd floor, make a left and go to the door that says "Ultrasound" and wait. Someone would come out for me. The signage is a little confusing and I ended up in the radiology waiting room. No worries. The radiology technician came out and found me and took me into a waiting ultrasound procedure room. I was told to lay down on the table (no need to undress) and she began by putting some warmed gel on the ultrasound probe and placed it on my stomach. First she scanned my VERY FULL bladder. I had to drink and hold 32 oz of water one hour before my appt. This is sometimes difficult for females like me over a certain age, but gosh darn, I did it! Then she moved up to scan both kidneys. It took about 15 minutes total. No pain. No discomfort (except my nerves wondering when I'd get the results). When she said "You are free to go" I thanked her, hurried to the nearest bathroom and then back out to my car. This morning I had the test results in my email "Urinary bladder is of normal configuration" and both kidneys were "Normal size and appearance. No hydronephrosis (swelling), renal stones, or soft tissue masses identified." They even measured them!!! How many people know the actual size of their kidneys??? The whole process was easy, went smoothly, I'm thankful and relieved. and every person I encountered was kind and welcoming. I was glad the hospital was so quiet too. So, the moral of this story is, don't be afraid of getting an ultrasound, it's easy peasy at the Legacy Good Samaritan Imaging & Radiology Dept. And they all lived happily ever after...let's hope anyway.

I attempted to appeal to higher powers to see if there was an option for correction, but was told by "the powers that be" (and my insurance) that the doctor said, "I got exactly what we talked about and she did everything right." Then was also told, "Sorry you aren't happy." It literally looks like a half a job was done, but I have been dismissed multiple times and advised at multiple levels that I will NOT get help. My only minor complaint is the children's toys in the waiting area. The toys are kind of loud and some parents don't know how to calm their children down and let them go wild. I may be biased though because I do kind of hate children.... Hence, minor complaint. Others were probably not as bothered as I was.

After moving into the city last autumn, all the yearly med stuff was coming back around, including mammogram, and it made more sense to find new places to get that stuff done, instead of driving back out to the old places. My new doctor gave me a list of various places on the insurance I could go to, and said "pick one and get it done". So, I did my research (including, of course, Yelp) and picked Portland Medical Imaging. From first phone call to walking out the door, they aced it. Appointment? Easy, prompt, pleasant. Reception? Easy, friendly, accurate, pleasant. Wait time? None. I was taken in promptly at my appointment time. Facility? Immaculate. Supplies? Considerate. Locking lockers, take the key with you. Shorty gowns, so there isn't extra material to get in the way. Deoderant etc provided if you would like to use it. Coffee in the waiting room. Technician? Outstanding. Thorough. Careful, considerate, gentle. Personable and even funny. They've really got a good thing going; at this point, I would recommend them to friends and family without reservation. Note: I have not received results yet, so if they biff that and don't send them or something, I'll re-review. Also, I have another appointment with them for a different matter in a couple of weeks, so, of course, if my experience is vastly different, I'll re-review. But I'm fairly certain they're just. that. good.
