Despite being told over the phone by Yana that my x-rays had been received, I was asked for more upon arrival. The dentist then recommended a CBCT-scan but could not confirm insurance coverage. A receptionist, Priscilla, claimed she checked with my insurance and stated the scan was not covered, quoting me $921.00 out of pocket. She repeatedly pushed payment plans and FSA options, even though I expressed my discomfort with these suggestions. After contacting my insurance provider myself, I was informed the scan is absolutely covered. When I called KK Dental back with the insurance representative on the line, Priscilla was extremely rude, hostile, and mocked the representative's accent. She later confirmed the insurance was indeed correct, and my portion dropped to approximately $203. I later learned that my son had an identical experience at their North Brunswick location. He was forced to pay out of pocket for a covered procedure due to the urgency of his case, and the office has since been hostile and refused to issue a refund. Furthermore, during a follow-up call on February 5, 2026, I was told by staff member, Yana, that the scan was again not covered and that the dentist had decided on an extraction without even performing the scan. We believe these predatory billing practices need to be addressed publicly. We are planning to reach out to the local news to bring light to this issue. They have gatekeepers here that are very strong on the hard upsell. Dr weirtheim has been my dentist but he seems to be ruled by the sales people in the office. Gone there for an emergency cap fell out ( as they always do not sure if it's the inferior cement they use or the dentist techniques), but he was not working and the office sales people come to you as your sitting in the dentist chair trying to tell me I need to go to oral surgeon and have it extracted then implant. Nonsense , so I made another appointment with my dentist (weirtheim) and he cemeted it back in in 45 seconds. This exact scenario happened 2 times. The last time I was so aggravated I got up out of the chair and left. The whole staff was being confrontational with me and refused to give me my records. I've repeatedly called and asked to speak to the dentist and explain what a nightmare I had with the office staff, but he refused repeatedly to even call back a long time patient. I will never go back here. Beware.

Dr. Sara is such a delight and I have never seen a dentist go above and beyond for his patients the way she does. She always make sure you are comfortable, satisfied, and fully informed during the entire process of any procedure or cleaning. I've had many cavities and even a root canal performed at the office and even those normally bother some procedures were tolerable and easy at her office. I've been going there for years and before are used to be deathly afraid of the dentist but I have to say ever since going to Dr. Sara I have not been afraid of the dentist anymore.
