Had my door replaced about a month ago and we're very pleased with the results. Installl was quick. Went from an average garage door, to the best looking door on the block! Thanks John!

Early in the morning we could not get out to go to work, our garage door was broken! I posted my plea for help in our Carson 411 Facebook group and so many members responded right away recommending John Hollaway of LEGACY GARAGE DOORS and I can't believe how fast Mr. John came to our rescue ! He is heaven-sent! Absolutely the person we need. Not only he was fast and very efficient with his job but he also engaged us in funny stories but more of explaining the mechanics of garage doors especially the kind that we have! I am grateful to God because he uses his business to help other people in our Carson community. He totally cares for people not just the perks of having earned more for his business. How I wish we can have more people like him...blessed to be a blessing! By the way, when we help him load his tools back to his car we saw toys that he would be giving to children in the community. God bless you more, Mr. John! May your tribe increase!

Legacy Garage Door Company provides professional service with a reasonable price. We have a garage door damaged by our tenants and get worse by our contractor who claimed that he could fix it. We called and talked to John, the CEO of the company. He came to check on it and offered a good price to replace it. Today, a Good Friday afternoon, John and his assistant, Charles came and replaced the whole door with a brand new one. They are really punctual, take pride in what they do, and willing to take extra job to complete their task in very professional manner. We highly recommend this company to whom needs for a Garage door replacement or repair. Our deeply thanks to John and Charles Happy Good Friday

UPDATE 1: Review #931 2026-023…read more During 12/2025, I worked with Ben from Mike Stevenson Garage Door Repair to replace my garage door opener because of stress likely from unbalanced operating torsion springs installed by POGDS (refer to Review #830), & it may cause operating issues with the new Chamberlain garage door opener. It's barely been a month & true to Ben's word, the new garage door opener is starting to have minor issues from PODGS mismatched torsion springs that was installed in 12/2024. Ben said I could reach out to him directly, & scheduled the springs replacement on Sunday, 02/01/26 & also added a keypad so I don't have to carry to remote with me (our garage isn't attached to our townhouse). Good timing too... MSGDR is currently running specials on garage door repair/installation (15% discount), springs repair ($100), spring repair/installation (15%), new garage door opener ($50)... whoohoo! Ben installed the new torsion springs (225 on 27) & new keypad in 30-mins., & I choose a 4-digit passcode & tested it to make sure everything is in working order before he left, & saved it in my iPhone's PW app in case I forgot. The following morning (02/02/26), I tried the keypad (3x) & it didn't work; luckily I kept the remote with me so I can access the garage. Whew! I texted Ben & he responded within minutes, & reminded me to include "0" after the passcode... nothing. \(`0´)/ He was busy with a client & couldn't talk me through resetting the passcode by phone, & will get back to me in 30-mins. While waiting for his call, I tried following the instructions that he provided yesterday & I couldn't reset it. While opening the garage with the remote, I heard a loud snap/crack, then the door closed & I was trapped because the door wouldn't open. I had to use the emergency release cord to let myself out & asked Ben to send someone; I also called Mike to let him know & sent a text for an electronic trail. Ben was able to get Adam here within 30-mins. after our last text. See how responsive & responsible this company is with their clients?! I'm assuming Adam was speaking to Ben over the phone (not sure of the language), & re-sync my garage remote (my husband's may also need this) & reset the keypad's passcode (tested it 3x: 2x to open, 1x to close, & used remote for the 2nd close). Prior to leaving, I wanted Adam to double-check the torque/tension of the cables from the loud snap I heard earlier because it sounded unusual & off, but he seemed to think it was ok. I mentioned this to Mike via text, & of course, he said they'll send someone out if there's any issues. Garage Door Springs 101: The spring size determines the necessary tension (inch-pounds per turn or IPPT) to safely & smoothly counterbalance a door's specific weight; while proper sizing, based on wire gauge, coil diameter, & length, ensures the door remains balanced, prevents excessive opener strain, & maximizes the spring's life cycle. Yes, there are valid reasons for installing 2 different sized torsion springs, primarily designed to achieve perfect door balance. MANUFACTURERS may use different sizes to manage specific weight distributions, with larger springs often managing lift & smaller ones controlling weight, ensuring the door operates smoothly. Reasons for different-sized springs include: optimal balancing (garage door's weight might require a unique combination of wire gauge & length that cannot be met by 2 identical, standard-sized springs... mine's a standard door), manufacturing/design requirements (doesn't apply to my door), modifications (N/A), improper previous repair (not sure on this because my husband didn't check the technician's work or the old springs before/after replacement). Hopefully, Ben corrected this & our garage door will function seamlessly for the next decade or so. This is a company that's responsive, usually within minutes, to your texts & calls, & technicians may be available same day or within a couple of days, & works with you to ensure that you're 100% satisfied with their service (twice they came back either same or next day to address my concerns). I initially had a very positive experience with Ernesto. I needed someone to come out quickly, and…read morehe was able to schedule me on a Sunday, which I genuinely appreciated. Unfortunately, things went downhill after that. He came out, said he repaired the garage door, and left. Shortly afterward, I discovered the original problem had not been fixed. The garage door still would not close, which was the entire reason I called him in the first place. I called to let him know the issue was still happening and had him speak with my brother, who was at home at the time. He immediately suggested that I had touched or moved the sensors. I did not appreciate being blamed for the issue, especially since neither my brother nor I had touched anything. More than a week later, the garage door was still not working properly, so my brother contacted Ernesto again. He agreed to come back on Monday morning and said he would make himself available. Because of that, I stayed home waiting and rearranged my schedule, including picking up my car from the tire shop and attending a chiropractor appointment. When I called in the am to confirm his arrival time, he told me he would be there between 11:00 a.m. and 12:00 p.m. By 12:40 p.m., he still had not arrived, and I had received no communication that he was running late. I called simply to let him know I needed to step out briefly and would be back around 2:30 p.m. Delays happen, and I would have completely understood if he had communicated with me. At approximately 1:20 p.m., he texted saying he was about 35 minutes away. The problem was that he already knew I would not be back until 2:30 p.m. Rather than working with the schedule I had communicated, he expected me to rearrange my day yet again after I had already spent the entire morning waiting for him. As a result, I had have my brother go to the house and accommodate a repair that should have been completed correctly the first time. What made the situation even more frustrating was his reaction. I was not upset that he was running late. I simply wanted communication. Instead of acknowledging the delay, he became defensive and started talking about how he needed to get paid on the job he was currently working on, did not want to work past 4:00 p.m., deal with traffic, or work late. None of those issues had anything to do with my call. I was simply letting him know when I would be available. He then complained that this is why he does not give customers arrival windows and said that next time he would not provide a timeframe at all. Throughout the entire conversation, I remained calm and flexible. I honestly did not care whether he came Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, or Thursday. My only expectation was that if he gave me a timeframe, he would either honor it or communicate if something changed. The issue was never that he was late. The issue was the lack of communication!and the defensive attitude when I tried to coordinate a solution. Waiting all morning is frustrating, but what was most disappointing was being treated as though I had done something wrong simply for asking for an update. Based on my experience, I did not appreciate the lack of professionalism, the defensive attitude, the poor communication, and the unwillingness to be flexible when scheduling issues arose. What makes this even more frustrating is that the original issue was never properly resolved, and the situation ultimately ended up creating additional inconvenience for me. Had the repair been completed correctly and communication been handled professionally, this entire situation could have been avoided.
