Michael came out yesterday and explained to me that our garage door opener was over 25 years old, and is discontinued. He explained that he might be able to fix it, but there was no guarantee something could go wrong again. At this point, I just wanted a garage door opener that works correctly, so I took Michael's suggestion to replace the garage door opener. My husband and I are so happy with our quieter, smoother, and more high tech opener. Michael even programmed a button in my car that will automatically open the garage door. Wow. If I could leave 0 stars I would. My sister and I were trying to help my dad change his garage code and the directions on the keypad weren't doing it. So we called the number listed on the light. For one all 3 different numbers went o the same guy. We called for help and he talked us through it over the phone but what he told us to do reset the entire system so then not only was the old code not working but none of the remotes would work anymore either! We told him that and then he proceeds to say he needs to come to the house to fix it for $100!! And I said can't you just talk me thru it on the phone and I told him I wasn't paying for something that he messed up in the first place. And $100 to press a couple of buttons? I'm sorry but no. After I told him I wasn't going to pay for something that he caused to happen he got upset and refused to help me over the phone and disconnected the phone! So it was very clear it was a SCAM! He purposely walked my sister through steps to mess everything up so he could charge us to come fix it. And then gave very poor customer service when we refused to fall for his scam! DO NOT USE! And then my brother was later able to fix it in 2 mins watching a YouTube video. SCAM ALERT!! And look at his response on the other bad reviews. AAB is such a rip off. Their prices are non-competitive and their work is poor. They don't seem to care once they complete their service. They do not honor repairs under warranty and they just want to collect money. Don't waste your time with them. No wonder they rely on large box retailers to get them leads. They are horrible. Obviously the only reason why I recently used them was that their number was given to me by the large box home improvement store. They came in, installed and now that I have issues within a month of installation they want to charge me again! What is the point if they do not honor their warranty?? I was very pleased with the service. The two gentlemen showed up on time, and began to work on the task immediately. One of them provided an assessment of a couple of adjustments that needed to be done to the door prior to the installation. He made a lot of sense, and I found his suggestions helpful. It also made me realize what a terrible job the previous guy that fixed my broken spring did. The additional door adjustments he recommended were done at what I felt was a very reasonable charge. He had the parts and quoted us $345 (30%) more than average which I thought was high in my mind to replace springs at that time, but end up going forward with the service due to convenience and 10% discount in paying cash. I understand you have to make money and be profitable of course, but don't rip me off right, They did replace it and get the job done so that was good, but this is probably the last time I will use these guys because after validating with the other two garage specialists I was not so happy (both quoted me the honest $200 fee).
