The service is incredible and the staff are exceptionally knowledgeable and courteous. Special heartfelt thanks to Sean from Kingston, Jamaica. This young man made our experience most incredible. What a talented and conscientious young man. We had our 15 month old daughter Marley with us, and he helped our family so much. We lost our valet tag every day. He would go get our van without complaint. When we checked out Sunday, we were so tired, and he helped me by making sure my wife, child, and belongings made it to the van safely. Such a positive and respectable person he is. He needs to be groomed for upper management. He is going places and we hope to see him operating the Lodge in the next couple years. The only reason I am giving this resort a 3 stars is because of the natural beauty of the lake and landscape. Also the employees at the bar on the resort are absolutely wonderful. First of all the fire alarm went off in the middle of the night at 1 am and then we also found a roach in the bathroom the day after that... I do understand that they do live in Georgia but why are they inside the room? I also understand that these bugs do carry diseases. I hope that one didn't crawl inside my suitcase. I also did let the front desk know and they said they would send someone up to check on it after we left. They did nothing except apologize which I did appreciate! read more

Legacy Lodge - Venues & Event Spaces Near Me - Buford, Georgia

Beautiful property! Spent the night here and took our kids to snowworld and to see the Christmas lights and decided to spend the night here as well. We all had a a great time at snowwworld and driving around the property, it's gorgeous! Our room was nice as well. Very clean and the beds were really comfortable. They have a couple of restaurants in the lodge. We ate at Windows for breakfast and their breakfast buffet had everything you can think of. The service and th staff at the lodge were great. When we first checked in, they gave our boys a little bag filled with goodies and a smores kit. They even had a little scavenger hunt game in there and our youngest enjoyed doing it. He received a prize at the end. We had a great time and will definitely be back! Also, if you're not from the area, there's great shopping about 20 mins away as well as restaurants (near shopping area). It's also about an hour drive to Atlanta if you want to go sight seeing. read more

We had an awesome time checking out the Christmas lights with the family. The food was excellent. The staff was great. The Kids absolutely loved it. If you're thinking about visiting, take a look at the package deals which include the hotel, lights, and breakfast. We booked a 2 night stay and got the family package which includes Lanier world tics and free breakfast. Breakfast buffet was great. Service great and good was fresh and delicious. The lodge has a nice big pool with plenty of seating. But no hot tub. They do offer poolside dining with alcohol and pub type food such as burgers, fries, nachos etc. The rooms are clean but a bit dated. I think if you stay here on a family package - or other special - it is a very good deal especially considering that Lanier world tics cost $41.99 per person. My 3yr old had a blast and it was a nice break from congested atlanta. read more

Totally rude, not clean, over priced. I really wanted to like this place because of the setting, however there was a DIRTY BAND AID AND BROKEN GLASS right at our door when we checked into our over priced room. Additionally there was a guest above us moving furniture around all night, 1130 - 7am, likely on drugs) and we got no sleep. I called the front desk at 2am to ask them to have somebody go to the other room, they said they would but never did! The next day we asked to switch rooms, which I had to spend all day taking care of. I was told that they would call me when our new room was ready.. after not receiving a call I was told by housekeeping that we'd be moving when she came to clean our original room and our new room "has been ready for hours." Very annoyed that I had to go check out & check back in at the front desk which took FOREVER. Finally, I just noticed a $50 hold placed on 2 cards + $381 in unexplained charges (everything we ate was charged to the room & I was already charged $480)I called & the manager said that they should go away soon, but cannot explain why they are there. read more

Whatever you do don't eat at the restaurant called Sidney. The food was microwaved, tasteless and at $100 average per person you would expect much much more. No excuse, the place was empty. I would give 2.5 stars if I could. My husband, daughter and I stayed over Father's Day weekend. It started out wonderful! The staff was so friendly. I liked the room- for the price it could have used some sprucing up but the bathroom was so nice and I loved the toiletries in the bathroom! We decided to check out the salt water pool and really liked it. We ate lunch at the bullfrog restaurant which is way overpriced and not very good. We also ate dinner there because we didn't want to have to go anywhere. I'm guessing most people settle. The second meal was an even bigger disappointment. The next day we wanted to check out the amenities but they were way overpriced! It's not a matter of if you can afford something- it's a matter of if its worth it and $84 plus tax to go to a waterpark my three year old couldn't even joy is absurd! No thank you! Or hey, you could pay only $30 to sit on a fake beach. Ummmm no thanks. I'd rather drive 6 hours and drop $2k and sit on a real beach. Good thing I will be in September! So we decided to go back to the pool. They were grilling hot dogs! How exciting until we find out they were $6 each. I made the mistake of buying three for my family. Took one bite and freezing cold in the middle! How do you screw up a hotdog?!! We decided to go to a local seafood place which was awful and I will be reviewing momentarily! That night we opted for fast food which was also awful!!! The food choices are terrible! They never cleaned our room and finally after calling twice I got some fresh towels and bring a coffee or that actually worked! The first time I called I let it ring over 50 times. This is NOT ok-- ever!!! Our final night we were awakened at 2 am by a lovely drunk female twice because she thought our room was hers. All night i heard drunk idiots screaming and slamming doors. For how expensive this place is I'd honestly think at least some of their guests would have class. But not at this joint, I honestly don't think I'd go back unless they were to comp our stay and food for our troubles! I don't recommend! read more

We had our daughter's wedding at Legacy Pointe and stayed at the Legacy Villas. It was a magical weekend. Starting with golf in the am a cruise and dinner on The Princess, and the most beautiful reception the following day. Julie at the front desk was exceptional but the best of all was our wedding coordinator Ljerka Bilbija every detail was taken care of. Absolutely the best service, attention, food was excellent staff extremely nice all and all a magnificent experience.!!!! read more

Very nice physical location on Lake Lanier. The Lodge is nicely decorated and very clean - think Disney level of quality. The thing that really drives my positive review is the friendly and attentive staff. Every encounter over my 4 day stay with the staff elicited a positive interaction. This place has continued to fail me in every way I can imagine. Prepare to keep your shoes on at all time to avoid having black bottoms on your feet due to the lack of cleaning and pest extermination. All lake houses are interrupted by the loud bass of the music across the narrow lake at margaritaville which shakes the house. It's hard to sleep considering you've seen palmetto bugs (which are just oversized roaches in a way) All over the ground and walls.... Let alone the loud music across the lake. The golf carts are governed which means they don't exceed more than about 8 mph which starts to get annoying as cars constantly cut you off making it feel unsafe to drive with your kids. Lastly the cleaning service decided to stop doing there job the last day, even after we called multiple times and they just left the Towels at the front of our room with out putting them around where they belong like every night and just completely didn't follow our request for new sheets which haven't been replaced in several days. Worst place I had ever been in my life and will never even return to Georgia in my life due to the inefficiency of this place and flat out terrible experience!!!!!!!! read more

Watched the fireworks show at Lake Lanier July 4th, 2019. Our boat would not start, leaving our entire family stranded. We walked to Legacy Lodge to ask for help, since we had a 10 month old baby on board. We simply needed help to reach our vehicle to get our family home. The hotel staff were all "too busy" to help. A little bit of empathy and generosity would have gained some lifetime customers for this hotel. Instead we will ensure to never stay at this hotel and will encourage everyone we know not to stay. Friendly staff and beautiful surroundings. Nice balcony furniture. Comfortable bedding. Nice bathroom with exhaust fan (that's important to some people). Keurig coffee maker. Rooms definitely need sprucing up for the price. They're not bad, but small, no refrigerator or microwave, furniture is a little dinged up, small tv, etc...wifi is included so that's great; however, the weather was rainy with some lightening on/off, and it seemed service was overly sensitive an interrupted far too often. We were unable to take advantage of many of the activities offered, but certainly not their fault. FOOD: breakfast is a glorified continental. Don't bother for the price, and I wouldn't recommend purchasing a room with a breakfast package unless you're doing one that includes everything, i.e. Water park, Winter Adventure, golf cart, etc... Bullfrogs has good chicken wings. We stopped at Quicktrip on the way in to purchase waters and misc. snacks. On our second day, we ventured out to The Mall of Georgia, saw a movie, and got Longhorn to bring back. The ice machine was broken on our level, and my son was disappointed to discover that the ice cream sandwich vending machine was broken on every level. Visit as OK, but overpriced. read more

They are trying to manage visitors with very sound COVID-19 protocols for staff and guests. Unfortunately the enforcement of protocols for guests is not enforced across the board which makes it useless. Either implement policies and require all guests to adhere, or don't bother at all. Noise in rooms above and in hallways was untenable after 10 pm. Staff was attentive and attempted to make it better. Water park was also trying to keep guests safe with COVID protocols but with a staff comprised mainly of teenagers it was not executed consistently. We had an enjoyable time overall and were not concerned for our safety but would have appreciated equal application of policies. We went to the beach where we paid to rent loungers and umbrellas. Signs were posted that chairs could not be moved due to social distancing. But then people were permitted to bring their own chairs or blankets and drop them anywhere, in between the three groups of loungers for two that we rented for our family of six. Now we were not only separated from our family members by groups of strangers, there was no social distancing. It was a frustrating experience. read more

A very beautiful course but a little tough for me. Whenever I play really gorgeous courses for the first time, I am so mesmerized by the views that I don't concentrate as much on my game. The 4th hole is surrounded by water and is really nice. I pretty much threw the ball onto the green by hand at the long and water-riddled 14th. My husband especially loved that they offer continental breakfast before you tee off and sandwiches before the back 9, all included in the greens fee. read more

We booked the Santa package for our stay for a group. Total disaster-- we spend more time at the front desk trying to fix screw ups than with our children enjoying the magic. Upon check in Santa letters were lost, then elf times were not honored, and the included breakfast with Santa --was not correct either causing double charges and a long wait to check in-- hard with kids totally excited to see Santa. We are at home double checking our bills to find out you (manager- Austin) overcharged us all after you said you would fix this billing issues. You have made this mom totally cry with the treatment by your rude and incompetent front desk staff. This was our fifth and last year, we will not ever be returning. read more

The staff was very friendly and the rooms were clean, which was positive. The downside is the resturant options. Bullfrog is alright, but the Italian restaurant ( Gillian?? )that was recommended by the concierge was not what we were expecting. Note that we were expecting a nice restaurant and instead it was basically a pizza spot at the water park. I would have expected they would give us the heads up given we were all dressed up. great views of the lake on 12 holes, challenging yet fair, generally in great condition. even late season, the greens roll fast and true. not too long (6500 from tips) but premium is placed on shot making and precise placement, plus many opps to find the H2O! the only thing that would make it better is a lakeview #18 par 5 w 3rd shot to an island green, but ya can't have it all! plus, getting free food at the start of your round and after 9 is a big plus! definitely worth the drive from anywhere in ATL area. read more

Stayed here for a business conference. Location is undeniably lovely. Rooms were well-appointed and clean. I have 3 reasons that the star rating isn't higher. 1) There were several functions happening here simultaneously, which was expected and fine. However, a couple of them had gift bags, etc. set up right as you walked into the lobby which was, well, weird. It also caused a bit of a log jam. 2) I'm not sure if housekeeping was short-staffed, but there was trash up and down the hallway on the second floor for the entirety of my 3-day stay. It wasn't gross or nasty---but trash, nonetheless. 3) This was the big one for me. As I went to check out, there had been some confusion about my work paying. I was notably frustrated, though still polite. As the girl at the counter charged my personal card for the several hundred unexpected dollars, she neither apologized for the misunderstanding nor thanked me for my business. She ran my card, handed me my receipt without a word, and turned around and walked into a back room. To say that I was offended would be an understatement. read more

Overall we had a wonderful time at the Lodge. We loved the pool and the free fitness classes. We did try to take a Zumba class and their printed materials were not correct with the right times. Just confirm at the front desk if the classes are really happening. The pool was nice, jacuzzi heated but not running. We loved taking advantage of the free shuttle running from the Lodge to the Water Park. It even ran late so that we could go back to the Islands for Music. The only complaints I had were that the maids never came to clean our room. Also we found a spider in our room too. Other than that, the staff was extremely friendly and new our names by the end of the trip. Thanks. read more

My fiancé and I stayed at the legacy villas which is literally right down the road from the lodge and conference center. This was an impromptu little getaway and we just decided to drive to lake Lanier randomly over the weekend. This place is meh. The bed was really comfortable and the room was pretty decent as far as cleanliness. I decided to get the standard King w/ a patio to be able to see the view of the lake. The view was a little hidden by trees, but ok. It felt private and it was just a short walk to a nearby dock where you could sit hang out and watch the boats which we did when we arrived early Saturday evening. That's about it. Then we found out we had to drive to the lodge in order to get ice. Every single time. So we just filled our cooler and the ice bucket. And hoped it lasted as long as it could. Then We found out that our refrigerator wasn't working properly. It was on and on the coldest temperature but running warm. We didn't realize this until after we put our drinks and food in there. There goes our leftover food from the restaurant and beach. Then the a/c stopped working Sunday night. We were hot as hell!! Good thing we were leaving Monday morning. Bottom line is I def would not stay here for a long period of time. For a spontaneous weekend sure. It's close to Lanier island and beach. And it serves it's purpose. Don't get me wrong we had fun. And I enjoyed my stay at lake Lanier. I gave 4 stars because those things did not take away from the overall experience we had at lake Lanier. Especially because we only spent Saturday and Sunday there. It was just annoying. And I really did want to be annoyed on my mini getaway lol. It's a little pricey from the cost of the room per night, to the beach, rides and just all around and the room needs to be updated. If it weren't for the fact that we just had a generally good time with each other, I would def be offended at the cost of everything and would have given it a 3. The fact that we made the best of things is how it creeped to a 4. Wish I could give 31/2. That would be an honest medium. read more

We had a great time at Lake Lanier for the July 4th fireworks. An added bonus was the great customer service at Legacy Lodge (especially Ashley at the front desk.) We dined at Sidney's Restaurant (Rob, our service was very informative, and super nice, and attentive.) Our room was quiet and comfortable. We walked around the grounds and near the golf course. I can't say enough good things about Legacy Lodge. I have relied on Legacy as a destination for corporate meetings a couple of times and they have been flawless every time. Amenities are fantastic, food is great and the staff is absolutely outstanding. They will bend over backwards to ensure your meeting is a success. We have also enjoyed Legacy as a family destination. It's only an hour away but it feels like a real getaway. So much fun for the whole family! We love it! read more

We stayed in a king bedroom for 2 nights over the weekend. I enjoyed it - The room was very clean and the staff was very friendly. Our room wasn't ready when we arrived but they made sure to call us as soon as it was ready for us. I loved the bathroom, I just wish it had more counter space for your personal items. The bed was super comfortable! The breakfast was ok but overpriced. The only thing that really bothered me was that the room has no microwave. read more

I think it's easy to have your expectations way up in this place. Great facility, lots of activities and proximity to the lake and boating, makes you expect everyone can be helpful. We had lots of logistical issues...from parking the boat to making sure our kids were in the right activities which were a part of the package. When things didn't work it got stressful. With that said I would just recommend speaking with concierge about your trip, then you will get the right answers. Other than that the facility is great, food was awesome and our kids had a great time. We will definitely be back and we would highly recommend it. read more

The grounds are beautiful but the customer service leaves much to be desired. A conference brought me to stay here and it was the first and last time. I injured my foot on a broken tub drain and ended up in an urgent care getting 13 stitches. I attempted to speak with the manager two times with no success. I was shocked with the lack of concern for me as an injured guest. The front desk clerk did bring me a bandaid and some gauze and the security guard offered to call 911 but that was it. I was furious at the lack of customer service and immediately gathered my things and checked out. When you pay this kind of price for a standard room you expect the service to be exceptional. I could have stayed at the holiday inn down the road and had the same size room with the same amenities and probably better customer service. read more

We stayed in the lake houses down the road from the lodge. The amenities we're nothing too extraordinary. We had to call the front desk at the resort for salt and pepper because our house seemed to not have any; and a blanket for the pull out couch which did not have one to come with it. Needless to say we were very disappointed because the items we called and asked for never arrived to us. Also only a few of the lake houses are considered "on the lake" or have a view of the lake. Which we received neither of these views. We also had to drive to the lodge to go swimming since there is not nearly as quality of a pool in our vicinity as the pool at the lodge. read more

It was not worth the money for a couple, just too many loud, misbehaved children running around with parents who are not paying attention to their kids' (bad) behavior. I blame myself, I should have known that a place with a waterpark would be trouble. The staff was not very friendly, our room was sub-par on cleanliness, and the price to even access the restaurant at the waterpark, even without participating in the park, is ridiculous. We came away not liking the experience one bit, and agree with the negative comments posted by others about ice, etc. We didn't even have a refrigerator, so had to scramble for every meal. Absolutely gorgeous views, terrible food. I had my wedding at legacy lodge last weekend and was so disappointed in the food. My husband is a chef and we do have high expectations, however, the food that we chose was simple knowing that you cannot bring in a caterer. We had several tastings (they served cold food that we knew was ordered pre-prepared) and were so disappointed that we made our own menu (complete with sending recipes and photos of how the food should look and taste). Our final tasting went really well, however, when the food was served at LEAST one component was left off of each dish and two were overcooked, making one of the meals inedible (which was the bride's meal). The venue was gorgeous and the woman left in charge of our wedding (not our planner) did the absolute best that she could. It was such a disappointment because they have the potential to be a wonderful wedding venue if the food was better. Rooms are beautiful though and most of the staff is very nice and tried to be as helpful as possible. Would not recommend to future brides if the quality of your wedding food is important to you. read more
