I've used Palmetto Pools & Spas twice in the past month for some urgent repairs…read more First one was to replace the multiport valve on the Hayward filter. It was worn and I could no longer press the lever down to rotate the valve for drainage or waste-out. It was right before a big storm and I was worried that I would be unable to drain the pool if needed, due to the rain. Dan came out within a couple days to replace the valve assembly. Reasonable price. The second repair was the pump motor. The day before the big snow storm, the motor started making a terrible noise and I was worried it was about to seize up. With the deep freeze happening, it was imperative that I get the motor replaced quickly. Dan was able to come out right after the snow. I was lucky that the original motor held out through the freeze. It all worked out fine. Dan was knowledgeable about the pool equipment, friendly, and nice to deal with. Will use them again the next time I need a repair.

He never came out to inspect the pool personally. Instead, we had to take samples to a nearby pool supply store, where we consistently encountered low chemical levels. Whenever we raised issues, we were told it was our equipment and to call our builder. We did, and it wasn't the equipment. Our builder even came out to fix other issues that Palmetto wouldn't handle, like a liner that had come out of the track. We sent photos and videos of the problems, such as algae starting in our pool. In response, we were told that if we wanted it cleaned, there would be an extra charge. We already pay over $300 a month, so an additional charge for algae in the skimmer basket made no sense. Almost a 1/2 year- we did give them a chance. I have enclosed photos of the algae and what they left our system. In summary, promises were made but never kept. We've learned our lesson and moved on to another pool company, hoping for better service. Amy

After over a month of requesting service to replace a pump and multiple no shows, we have been told…read morethey can't do the job. We are with a home warranty company and there's no support with this company to actually assist their customers. Instead of management reaching out to us, they just canceled on us. Now we're in fear of our pool system and liner being compromised. No decency to speak to customers that have waited this long at all.

The last straw... I have been a customer of Pool and Spa…read moreConnection since 2017. I've only had issues since working with the new owner, David Hanor, on my 90K pool renovation. My 2024 reno was riddled with issues like: -Unnecessary holes being cut into my new steel walls and patched with duct tape. -The new patio roped off for smaller than in our contract. I had to show the concrete crew a copy of the contract so they would correct the square footage before they poured the concrete. Thank goodness I was home at the time! -New equipment (salt cell) being sold to me and installed without first checking to see if the power center was functioning. When the new salt cell did not work, I was then told I probably needed a new power center. -Trash and debris being left in the yard and against my house for so long that I received warnings of fines from my HOA. -My credit card being charged $2,286 for a new pump, when they quoted that it would run $1,600-$1,800. (I had to produce his written quote to back to him, and show him other pool company's less expensive quotes, before he finally refunded my $474.) -And, the last straw, selling and installing incompatible equipment that continues to malfunction. I've gone thru months of my new pool vac having pressure issues that have caused breaks in the connections and the pool vac to malfunction. I have emailed David Hanor written documentation from the Pentair website, Pentair Customer Support agents and the local Pentair rep, Don Burts, stating the pool vac and booster pump he sold me were not compatible and I would continue to have issues. David Hanor has not responded to my last email, has not replaced the incompatible/malfunctioning equipment and he has not responded to the BBB claim #23245428 that I filed in April. Mr Hanor is a friendly person and always has an excuse for everything, but it has been one issue after another. I don't want any other pool owners to go through what I've had to go through with David Hanor at Pool & Spa Connection.

Review Amendment: Moments after posting this review I was…read morecontacted by Nate. He let me know that Watkins, the hot tub manufacturer, had contacted them and would be willing to exchange our current hot tub for a new one. The new one should arrive in 6-8 weeks and it will be the same model and color combo as the one we currently have that is malfunctioning. It is a relief to see that they care about the quality of their product, as well as customer satisfaction. Many thanks to Nate and Watkins. Buyer beware. I had great response in the past for pool service so I decided to purchase a hot tub from Hot Springs - big mistake. I purchased it in December - install in February and it has really been a big nightmare ever since. Every water exchange - including the initial fill, has required a service call that involves taking off the panel and loosening pipes to de-air the system. I know that air locks can be a problem, but I shouldn't have to have a service call every three months. I called Hot Springs on 6/21/25 during working hours and was put through to Stuart - the general manager - I left a detailed message at that time and he has never called me back. I also left a message for the spa department on 6/21/25 as well. I then called back on 6/23/25 and eventually spoke with both Anthony and Nate. I was told by both that this was not a warranty issue - mind you no one offered to come out and trouble shoot the hot tub. I was told by Nate that he would contact the manufacturer and get back to me. It has now been 7 days and I have not heard a word from anyone. The latest water exchange left me with half of the tub not working at all. In a unit that isn't even 6 months old, and has been used for less than 4 months, this is totally unacceptable. I suspect this model is a "lemon" and I am stuck with a several thousand dollar yard ornament according to Hot Springs. Really frustrated.
