We filed a claim with travel insurance (CSA/Generali) purchased when we booked...Denied. VRBO is even asking their property owners to give at least a 50% refund if they do not want to reschedule...that didn't happen. It's a shame that Kimberly Lang Vacation Rentals would act this way during a Global Pandemic. We will never rent from this company and will spend our money elsewhere. Can you imagine being a new owner and moving into the unit to find it dirty? Someone from Resortquest did come into the unit because they took their linens, towels and cleaning supplies. And there had been a snow bird in here for months and I don't think they cleaned either. Horrible way to run a business and certainly not acceptable! Wow in a bad way!

Upon arrival, our original unit had no running water, which significantly disrupted the start of our trip. We were moved to a substitute unit, but that unit had several additional problems, including a smoke detector without batteries that continuously beeped (a safety concern), a large stain on the bed, and clothing left behind hanging on the bathroom door. After the water issue was resolved, we returned to the original unit only to discover that the oven was not working. There was also no toaster available until we specifically requested one. During a later conversation with management, we were also frustrated by the suggestion that our report about the non-functioning oven "didn't line up" because we had not used the emergency line after hours. From our perspective, we had already dealt with multiple unresolved issues throughout the stay and reported problems through the normal communication channels available to us. Since the oven ultimately required a replacement part, the issue was clearly legitimate. The response felt more focused on questioning our account than addressing the repeated problems we encountered. In addition, active construction was taking place during our stay, and we were never properly informed in advance. Although we were told an attempt had been made to contact us, we received no call or voicemail. While a partial refund was eventually offered, it did not amount to even one night's stay and did not adequately reflect the extent of the inconvenience and issues encountered. We were also told that the expense of repairing the water heater factored into the compensation decision, which we found inappropriate, as maintaining functional utilities and appliances is the responsibility of the property owner and management. Overall, the combination of utility outages, safety concerns, cleanliness issues, non-functioning amenities, ongoing construction, and poor communication made this a frustrating experience. We would strongly encourage future guests to confirm the condition of the unit and ask about any ongoing work before booking.

The property was managed by Alicia J Hollis Realtor Rentals, and the stay was filled with issues from the moment we arrived. When we went to pick up our keys, we were informed that someone "might" be at the unit fixing the water heater. Upon arrival, there was no technician there and the unit had no running water. We had to return to the office and were moved to another unit. The replacement unit was also unacceptable. We found dirty swim trunks left in the bathroom, a fire alarm chirping continuously, and a large stain on one of the bed sheets. The following day we moved all of our belongings back to the original unit, only to discover additional issues including a missing toaster (which was eventually provided) and a non-functioning oven. To make matters worse, there was active construction taking place directly outside our unit that we were never informed about beforehand. The noise started early in the morning and significantly impacted our sleep. Workers were sanding paint directly outside the entrance, leaving debris all over the keypad and entryway. At one point, our door had been taped off by workers without notice, making us question whether it was even safe to remain there. The workers were wearing respirator masks while guests were expected to walk through and breathe in the paint dust. When we raised these concerns with management, the response was dismissive and unprofessional. Their focus was primarily on refusing additional compensation rather than addressing the conditions or apologizing. We were also told they had "contacted us" about the construction, which was simply untrue. One manager even stated: "I can't refund you any more money, the owner already put out over 2 grand for the water heater -- he isn't even going to profit from your booking." To be fair, they did reimburse us for one night of the stay, although we did not receive the full amount back since the booking was made through Airbnb. We understand that unexpected maintenance issues can happen, but the lack of communication, cleanliness, professionalism, and concern for guest safety was extremely disappointing. After many years of booking Airbnb stays in this area, we would never book another property managed by Alicia J Hollis Realtor Rentals again.

Paid for travel insurance ... two days later they changed us to another unit a more expensive one... unfortunately we are not able to arrive on the estimated date because of the Teo storms coming in... travel insurance that they sell is a joke and won't cover for anything... After multiple calls and discussions we where offer by Chloe to move the trip Two days out (never mention an additional cost at that point) they when we call again since the current unit we have is more expensive not they want $28 dollars more, when I told them we never wanted the more expensive unit they said sorry nothing we can't do to change units (you where the ones who changed it on the first place) The second rep was ANGELICA horrible and rude, she laughs at me when I express my u happiness about having to pay the extra money ... she was so rude.... this will be our last time using compass resorts.
