I'm really disappointed with my experience here last Friday. I've been to this salon before and liked it, but this time was a mess. When I walked in, I clearly asked for a dip manicure -- it's what I had on and what I always get. The tech removed my old set and started applying what I thought was the base for dip, but it turned out she was doing an acrylic overlay instead. I only realized something was off when they pulled out the no-chip/gel polish. I mentioned again that I asked for dip, and the male tech tried to tell me what I had on before was no-chip (it wasn't -- it was dip, just with a design on one nail). I explained I get dip because it adds strength, which I need for my hands-on job. Instead of fixing it, they just added a layer of builder gel and said it would help. It's now Monday, and one of my nails already broke -- literally just from putting on my shoes. My dip manicures normally last 4+ weeks without any issues. If I weren't traveling internationally for work right now, I'd go back and demand a refund. Very disappointed. I just returned from my appointment. First two visits for powder dips went great. This time, I made an appointment for a dip for an hour before closing. A nice young gentleman was removing the old dip, I saw an ombré color and asked if that could be done with a dip. He said yes, just two different powders, an extra $10. He passed me on to another tech and left, showed her what I requested. The tech appeared not happy, I asked if that was ok, she said yes. In a hurry, nicked me a few times. By now, only one customer was left and two other techs wrapping up. One tech was very upset with her customer, and began to complain and carry on to the other tech, to the point she is standing and arguing. Very loud, very abrasive. As I am watching that, my tech is putting on a liquid, smells like acrylic, drying with the lamp then dabbing on the second liquid for the ombré. I am new to this, never had ombré, I asked if this is going to be a powder dip. The angry tech comes over and tells me Yes, it is a liquid dip, and goes back to arguing with the third tech. My tech is in an obvious hurry, she is rushing through to the point that she was putting oil on my cuticles with one hand and untying her work apron with the other. She started using both hands to take off her uniform and walk away, with oil still sitting on my nails so I told her I can rub it in myself. She grabbed her coat and keys to leave, not a word to me. Meanwhile the angry tech is still going on with the third tech so loudly, pointing to where her customer was seated. The past two powder dips cost me $50 each visit. This time I was charged $75, obviously way more than an extra $10 I was told. Getting my nails done is supposed to be a relaxing treat for myself. Instead, I left feeling more stressed than I arrived, between the upset staff complaining and spending way more money than what I was told. I've went here 2 times and the service was decent. I scheduled an appointment to get me and my mom's nails done for my wedding and requested both Lisa and Luna to do our service. Upon arrival (5 minutes early by the way), we were told that Lisa was off for the day. Another woman walked in after us and was seated right away. Luna was available to do my pedicure and nails but told me that they could not do my mom's nails. Seems to me that they should have made the other lady that came in after us wait. My nails were done yesterday with no chip for Xmas, today is Xmas eve and they have chipped already. In addition my grand daughter got Xmas stickers on her nails and they too had come off before she even got to take a shower. The customer service from the nail techs are very unprofessional. She had an attitude and truly do not understand the concept that when a person is spending their money they are always right. First of all, I would like to say that I am BIG on my nails. It's really the only self care that I can get to with my busy job. I came in earlier today for an overlay and pedi. Kyle or Tony usually do my nails, I had a lady this time do my nails that was not the owner (the one that sits closer to the door). At the end of my service my nails were $125!! I have never in my 30 years of life paid that much for my nails. I don't have a problem with paying but it's the nickel and dime every thing you get in here. My pedicure was $30 (which I knew about), the overlay by itself was $50, they charged me $10 for "nail soak off" even tho I had an overlay dip previously, $5 for nail shape even though my nails were already square when I walked in (when I asked her about this she said my nails were wide lol), $5 for long nails even though these are MY NATURAL NAILS (I have attached a picture). Why are they charging length for nails when I never asked for an additional nail tip and these are my nails?! I still have $35 left from my equation and I guess my 4 nails that have designs on them equals $35. Which is a very simple design. Just when you don't think it got worse, it did. The lady (the owner that sits closer to the door) insulted me by saying "I don't get my nails done here anyway" meaning I'm not a consistent customer. SHES RIGHT. I don't live close and I love how pretty my nails look each and every time so I don't mind the drive but that was tasteless to say in front of other customers. She also said I "always have an issue and I should go somewhere else" (I usually get designs so there is always some extra communication with me being an artist myself) I have been supporting this nail shop since it opened in July 2020 (yes opened during the pandemic). I've been supporting this nail shop so much I tell my male friends to come here and get their pedicures and they all do! I have never been so disrespected in my life. $125 nails and when she realized I wasn't tipping she slammed the cash register door. I feel sorry for Kyle cuz he did my pedicure today, I didn't get a chance to tip him because of his coworkers. update: 2 weeks ago went to shop for a no chip polish on natural nails. Ended up with 2 fake nails tips due to over filing on natural nails and acrylic on the rest, not sure why or how that happened. Any way the reason for the update is let let people know that I ended up with an infection in my thumb nail and having to get on antibiotics, please be careful.... My sister and I were in the area one day and decided to stop in to have our nails done. We picked out the polish colors we wanted and only waited a short while before being served. We both received manicures and pedicures. The young lady that did my nails was named Elaine. She was personable and sweet. She took her time and did a very nice job. The pedicure lasted for a couple of weeks before it chipped. The manicure didn't fare so well because I wash my hair slightly more often than typical. I ended up taking it off after only a few days. My sister had her manicure and pedicure done by Elaine. She felt like Elaine was preoccupied with too many other things so she wasn't very pleased with the customer service. The nail salon atmosphere was warm and comfortable. The place was clean and everyone seemed to adhere to strict hygiene protocols. The entire staff also wore masks and gloves because of Covid. The cost for one manicure/pedicure was about $47. That's slightly more than I usually pay downtown which is unusual in my opinion. Usually stuff is cheaper in the suburbs. They've gotten away from being customer oriented/friendly. The last few times I've walked away, after dropping over $100 bucks for basic nails and pedicure with feeling like I was a bother. At my last/final visit the owner told me she didn't like doing dip nails because she was "too busy". I used to LOVE this place; even traveling over an hour for nail services every 2 weeks because they were "that good" in my opinion; however if I'm spending my money, which I have no problem doing, don't roll your eyes and lose breath because I want a particular service which you advertise at your business; at least wait until I leave to talk shit. I really didn't want to do this, but this is my second bad experience with this place. The first time I let it go because the nail tech was very nice. This second time, the nail tech was also nice but I felt taken advantage of. The price gauging that is done here is very unethical. I came in for a no chip full set. I had bare nails. I had a design in mind and showed them it. They told me that I should do a powder because it was the same price and that no body does gel anymore. I said that was fine. I was in a time crunch and I had already waited a while before I was helped. I was told that my nails would be $85. I was charged $55 as the base price, +$5 to shape them even though the set was the basic short square shape, +$20 for the design (the flower stickers) and another $5 for french tip. My nail tech made a comment about knowing the event I was going to as soon as I sat down which just made me feel like they were doing this knowing I was in a rush and had an event to go to. I've been going there almost every two weeks paying over $100 every time for the last two years. The last few times I went, I made the mistake of letting the blonde boy do my nails. 5 of my 10 nails lifted from the base....let me restate that.
