Awful experience. Would not recommend. I was there for over 3 HOURS. Insanity. Person doing my pedicure did not put full effort in. My manicure took the longestttt, Dove was extremely rude and got mad at me and yanked my hands multiple times when I asked her to fix the paint that was uneven on my nails. I went in for GelX Nails and i only received GelX Gel. Mentioned why to the technician and was told they dont put nails on if we want our nails short. I have had this done before with the nails its the whole concept if getting them. Brought this up to the mgr he at 1st seemed shocked but then decided to favor technician. Today, I was shocked to find out I was going to be charged an additional fee that is otherwise included in other services... even though I was planning to get a manicure there would be an up charge to remove a dip that was applied by their salon 2 weeks prior. I'm a loyal customer that has been going to LA nails for the past 15 years frequently. Maybe we shouldn't nickel and dime our loyal patrons especially when they are getting additional services in the same day. My mom has been going there for years because they know what to do and it's very very clean. I went with her today and we got the Milk and Honey pedicure and I got a simple manicure. Donna has always taken care of my mother, and I was taking care of by Hayleen. Everyone was friendly, helpful and professional. We enjoyed ourselves and Donna was so attentive to my mom. I do have one suggestion... Figure out a way to add the tip on the credit card... The Venmo situation is troublesome, and I still haven't been able to leave Hayleen the tip that she deserves! I don't walk around with a lot of cash... It's very convenient to just put a tip on the bill (like we do at a restaurant). I will be coming back every month for this "wellness visit" ... maybe next time my husband will join me. And yes, men do go there for pedicures and manicures. I made an appointment with la nails in mokena which was recommended by a friend of mine---when I made the appointment I said I needed someone who is able to do designs --the receptionist was rude stating we all do designs and what day and time would I like to come --silly of me for still making an appointment so I come in for my appointment a woman who works there let's me know she is doing my nails --I show her the picture of the nails I wanted she took my phone to show that receptionist and she comes back and states I have to wait so I said ok--about 15 minutes later that receptionist tells me if I can wait another 15min for the girl who can do my nails. I again said ok ---after waiting for about 10 minutes I ask that receptionist if they are used to doing any type of designs since I saw all the ladies with basic color only.. she told me they do and she spoke with a nail tech who did not seem happy to do my nails --the design was French manicure in a mint green color with a little flower--the receptionist after speaking with the nail tech informs me that it would be $49 for the dip $20 for tips and additional $20 for designs ---OMG CLEARLY THAT WAS RIDICULOUS AND I EXPRESSED IT TO THAT RECEPTIONIST AND PROCEEDED TO WALK OUT!!!! My observation of the place which is a large place but not many techs and they sit practically on top of each other -you are literally sitting on top of each other. I asked for Short Square nails. My guy was more concerned with the gossip than actually listening to me. I've gotten my nails done before.He did nothing with my cuticles mind you I got a full set and a pedicure so I spent a decent amount. I have some very crooked nails. More oval and maybe one square/oval? Not to mention paint is very poorly painted on and they looked very grown out when I left. I've gotten my nails done before and this was just bad, I had a wedding the next day and I would have complained about fixing them but my sister was in town with her new born and we had dinner reasons we were in a time crunch. I will never go back to this place. Then I was going to leave a tip on my card. Apparently that's not an option and he looked OFFENDED I didn't give him cash on the spot. Just no. I tried to give this place an opportunity more than once and it didn't work out. They charge you for a "pedicure" that's really only a polish change with a little bit of water and a little bit of lotion. I love LA Nails and almost always get a perfect no chip, manicure, or eyebrow waxing from there. The only thing is they have to watch that girl they hired with her own bag of nail tools. I went today and got a no chip and she used tools she pulled out of this dusty bag. Then when she put them back, she dipped them in the water that I soaked my nails in and just threw them back in her bag. When she was done she put the bag back right where she got it from. I only come here for convenience. I have never had a good experience here. My toenail polish is always sloppy. The shape of my nails are always different shapes but then told it's my fault. Can I give more than five stars? Since I moved here, I hadn't been nail salon loyal - I skipped around, never finding one that was nice enough or clean enough or anything enough to keep me coming back regularly...until I found LA Nails. Sam is THE BEST business owner. She's so sweet, remembers everyone's name, and you can tell that she genuinely cares that everyone has a fantastic experience. The entire staff is professional, and kind, and I went from getting my nails done here and there to getting regular weekly manicures because I just can't wait to go back. Also, they usually are playing music from the early 2000s and something about John Mayer really makes it worth at least 10 stars. I think the secret is getting out, because it's been busier than I remember lately (but it's also prom/graduation season!) so I'd call and make an appointment if you can - but even during the busy times, I've never had to wait more than 15-20 minutes. Walked in to an incredibly friendly staff who were all smiling and quick to serve. But during my no-chip manicure, the woman seemed to be rushing through it. She cut my thumb, making me bleed, and then was answering text messages on her apple watch during the manicure.... The polish was globbed on wayyy too thick, with polish still on my skin when I left, and bubble on my nails. When I paid, I was a bit shocked at the $86 fee for a no-chip mani and pedi, but accepted that they raised the prices and went home. The more I look at my nails, the more disappointed I am... I tried this place at the last minute before going to a wedding as I live in the area and have tried all of the salons around for dip powder and just was not satisfied. I usually drive all the way downtown for my nail services. I'm so happy that I did! I had the BEST pedicure I've ever had. Lan took his time with my feet like I was the only client he had that day! Made my whole week!!! I got a milk and honey pedicure and let me tell you Lan made me never want to go anywhere else as I've had milk and honey pedicures at other establishments. If that wasn't enough to make my experience great Enzo did my dip powder so well that he didn't have to use the drill file at all after and if you get dip powder regularly you know most places try to use that to make it look more natural. He was able to make mine look natural with just a quality technique, a normal file and a good buff. I'm so incredibly happy with the service even a week later that I keep thinking about it! They only except tips in the form of cash or check so keep that in mind! I'm sad I now have to cut my nails down for a new position at work but I will most definitely be letting Enzo be my new nail tech! Thank you all for providing such a quality service. I only travel to the area 1-2 times per year so I usually get my nails done before the trip. This time, due to sickness, I didn't get a chance to handle this little treat. Once I started feeling better, I pulled up my yelp app and looked for nail salons near my location. LA Nails had some of the best reviews so I called and made an appointment. I talked with the owner and she said that she would have someone do a good job for me. There didn't seem to be a language barrier in talking with the owner. I am so pleasantly pleased with the results! I get the dip powder rather than gel or acrylic. This color is Cabernet-40 something or other in the dark labeled brand of color choices. I told Kelly (my nail tech) that I wanted 4 coats (due to very weak nails). She didn't bat an eye. She put on 4 coats in a very deliberate manner so as I didn't end up with big, chunky product at the bottom of my nail bed. I had very clear communication with Kelly. I love this shop! My sister and i tried it out about a month ago and it was such a great experience. It wasn't loud and messy either. It was very calming and relaxing. They offer you beverages and sometimes have snacks too. I went back yesterday for a no chip fill in and it looks and feel great. So, thank you LA nails.
