I've visited twice and am already a fan of the daifuku (especially the peanut butter one) and cupcakes. I also love the story behind the business. The owner is a mom who taught herself to bake from YouTube videos. Friends and family started asking her to bake for them, and eventually it became a business. I attended a long time friend's 90 year old birthday lunch at Natsunoya and she had a beautiful cupcake cake in the shape of her age Ninety! It had pretty pink and white decorations on a red velvet cupcakes, arranged in the numbers of 9 and 0! Usually I don't like a lot of frosting but the frosting was not too sweet and it was creamy. It seems to have cream cheese in the frosting and the cupcake I had a pink macaron! You can tell the birthday person was so touched by the beautiful cake made of cupcakes! Her younger sister and family threw her a special party. I don't know if I'll live that long but there are a lot of church members who is reaching 100 or 102 years old! Any age o reached I would be blessed, but the older you get.. you will have more cupcakes to share! lol The cupcake was moist and enjoyed it very much. I'm glad I finally got to try their cake! Such a cute bakery in Kaimuki! Their website is user friendly. We ordered this while we were in another state. Very easy to confirm the date and time of pickup. They even text you a receipt as proof of purchase for the day that you pick it up. Since the eyes eats first :) This Chocolate cake is oh so pretty! It has some height to it and they show you the name plate (correct spelling) before they carefully place it into a special box with a window. The chocolate frosting is smooth all around. They delicately placed yummy chocolate candies along the top, strategically placed sprinkles along the bottom edge, and then hand crafted the special Happy Birthday name plate in gold. Now for the taste.... I would have to agree with the other reviews that said the cake was a bit dry or crumbly. It has the texture of something vegan without egg, fat, nor butter. I was trying to figure out if it was the type of flour they used. Perhaps it's just their style of cake? Like I mentioned earlier, the frosting is smooth. Maybe that's where all the butter or fat content is? I would have liked the cake layers to be a little more moist, but...when eaten together with the frosting it balanced out. When going to pick it up, I realized I got the date wrong. The owner was so nice and allowed me to pick up 6 cupcakes. I was very appreciative that she was so accommodating. The cakes, cupcakes and cookies are delicious, made with quality ingredients, like buttercream and possibly lard. But forget ordering a birthday cake if you're born in December. Recommendation: Try A Cake Life in Mo'ili'ili, in the strip mall on S. King across Stadium Park and Yama's on the Young Street side. They are pricey and closed Christmas to after New Years. Hungry Husband and I made a late night snack run to 7-11. I looked in the donut case to find a 3 piece "Daifuku with An" container, didn't expect that to be in there but was pleasantly surprised ( cuz I wuz craving some kinda mochi thing!) This gem of a bakery is tucked into the middle of a block on Waialae Ave. There are a couple dedicated parking stalls but you have to know where to find them. It's worth the trouble because this shop is so cute. The decorated cookies are adorbs! Check out the Honi Honi cookie which is meringue in a vanilla cookie. So pretty and bite sized! Today, I picked up two cupcakes. They were too perfectly attractive to resist ($4.75). The Cookies & Dream had an oreo on the top as well as on the bottom. That was a nice surprise. While the displays are very pretty, they have a small parking lot with visitor spots in the back, and the shop looked clean, the prices are quite high and the flavor/texture were just ok. I went here since there was a deal on 5 stars app for a free macaron with purchase (btw their sign says macaroon, but it is the French macaron, not the coconut macaroon). I tried a new flavor macaron, oreo. It was ok, but when I first bit into it, it was frozen. Waited a while to eat more. It was a bit dry/crumbly. Not the typical chewy crisp that you look for in a macaron. Not sure if they're made and them frozen or buy them in, but it was definitely icy. The red velvet cake pop looked good, but the taste was a bit off. It was almost iron-y like bloody tasting but maybe it was just too much food coloring. Overall not the best experience and for the cost I would rather just go to Starbucks where I know I love the cake pops. For parties though the small gift bags are super cute. read more

I tried anyway... And... here I am to pick up my prize! Thank you! I won a lot of items from Via Gelato ...and a cute Gift Bag from We Heart Cake Company. The Gift Bag was composed of: - a kawaii detailed, bear-shaped cookie, - an ice cream cone filled with a heart-shaped shortbread cookie, meringue treats, and various candies, and - a package of crunchy chocolate chip cookies! YUM! I really appreciated the high quality packaging - from the pleats on the edge of the bag, to the ziplock seal to keep the cookies crisp and fresh... Each item had a wow factor! Of course, the textures and flavors were superior, too! Everything was excellent in presentation and taste! Since I was there at the shop, (and I had luckily scored a metered parking space right in front), I decided to get a Very Berry Strawberry cupcake - because it was so pretty! I've been frequenting this bakery for years now and wanted to say that I love their baked goods! Parking is right out back (enter from Waialae) with a few stalls on the left located next to the bamboo trees. Or you can just park on the street right out front. I can tell that all of their items are made from scratch (and love!) and the flavor and taste are exceptional. My go-tos are always their animal cookies and cupcakes. Just recently, Weheart started making these cute Mini-cakes. I wanted to pick one up for my grandmothers 83rd birthday. I called to see if they had any left in stock, as this is a walk-in only cake, and they did. I thought that the cake flavor would be something simple such as vanilla or chocolate but surprisingly it was a delicious flavor of strawberry guava! Also ordered Happy Birthday (vanilla cake with confetti sprinkles), Guava Strawberry, and Passion Kiss (lilikoi). They came in a beautiful, high quality box. Recommend that if you save them for later, refrigerate them in an airtight container, not just in the beautiful box, so they don't dry out. Delivery was through Bite Squad. I submitted the order 2 days in advance but my app notifications made it seem like the app didn't actually notify the bakery until the last minute so it was delivered almost half an hour late. I called early in the morning to see if they could have a cake ready by the afternoon and they said yes! I was so thrilled and happy they could accommodate me on such short notice. I luckily found street parking right in front on Waialae. It's right after Tamuras on the right hand side maybe 3 stores down. Small little place would never have noticed it if it wasn't for Yelp. Very very friendly staff they even helped me to my car as my hands were full with the kiddos. The frosting was delicious tasted like cool whip instead of regular frosting. Went in for their annual cupcake day sale. The staff are always accommodating and helpful here and even super busy, they were still giving the same level of service. The cupcakes have changed from before to more sweet and moist. I am sure many others will appreciate these changes more than I but I am disappointed with the added sweetness as it's easy to get very sweet desserts anywhere and everywhere. The lower sweetness kept me coming back; will not be able to enjoy as many or as often as before unfortunately. Probably better for my diet though. I heart We Heart! On a Sunday stroll walking back to the car from a lunch on Waialae Ave, we decided to stop here for dessert. All of their desserts looked so beautiful and delicious, it was a struggle to decide on what I should treat myself with. I ended up getting the Vanilla Cheesecake and it was absolutely delicious! The cheesecake part was so dense, so cheesey, and so tasty. The homemade crust wasn't too hard and was very complimentary to the cheesecake on top. The fruits were fresh and went so perfect with the cheesecake. It is pretty heavy so I'd recommend splitting it with someone, which is definitely doable. Prices are what you'd expect from a cake boutique. However, just from tasting their cheesecake cupcake, I can tell they craft all of their desserts with care and love. My boyfriend and I celebrated our anniversary this weekend so I ordered one of their signature love letter cakes. Ordering online was super quick and easy, done in a matter of minutes! Picked up my order on Saturday and the girls working in there were so sweet! If you're lucky you can score street parking right in front of their shop on Waialae, but if not there is a small parking lot in the back! While the cake part is a little dry, the frosting made up for it. Both the cake and frosting are pretty dense. The frosting is so smooth and tasty. I asked for a coffee cupcake and I got it. There was also a dollop of a chocolate ganache just on top of the cake under th frosting. I think without the ganache, the cupcake would have been drier. It was also topped with a chocolate wafer cigar and a chocolate covered espresso bean. I was looking for a bakery that would make a custom cake for my parent's birthday. Several people online recommended this place. I went online to see the cake designs that they were able to do, and in the end, I settled on a naked cake with berries. There was a picture on their website of an eight-layer cake with strawberries and cream between each layer. I knew that cake was too big so I asked if I could get the bottom half made, which was a four-layer cake. Customer Service: Placing an order was very convenient; you can either do it via an online form or call them. I called to place my order, and the Japanese lady on the other end was nice and very accommodating. I called them back once to change the pick-up date, and it wasn't a problem at all. Location and Parking: The bakery is on Waialae Ave. and parking can be scarce in that area. We were fortunate, and there were several parking spots open right in front of the bakery. The Cake: I have to admit; I was surprised when I picked up the cake. The lady showed me the cake before placing the cake in the box. The picture that I had seen and the cake that I got was beyond my expectations. The cake was 6 inches and had five layers with strawberries and cream between each layer. The cake's top layer was decorated with fresh strawberries, blueberries, and raspberries and lightly dusted with sugar powder. Taste: The cake looked like a strawberry shortcake, and I was thinking that the cake was going to be a little on the dry side, but it wasn't. The cream in the middle of the layers was not overly sweet but just the right amount of sweetness. Overall: I'm so happy that I went with this bakery. It's a cute little shop, and I would go back next time to try their cupcakes. I would love to get another cake from them just to try the different flavors.
