We were really looking forward to doing an old-time photo in Gatlinburg -- something fun and unique for our trip. Unfortunately, this place turned out to be a huge disappointment. From the moment we walked in, we felt completely unwelcome. The owner seemed irritated we were even there. His personal music was blasting so loud it was hard to hear ourselves think, let alone have a conversation about the photo packages. When we politely asked a couple of questions about costume options and pricing, he got visibly annoyed and incredibly short with us -- and then, unbelievably, asked us to leave. Just like that. No explanation. No attempt to help. Just rude and dismissive. We weren't being difficult or demanding -- just trying to understand what we were paying for. It's clear the owner has no interest in providing a welcoming or professional experience. If you're hoping for a fun, family-friendly activity with decent customer service, skip this place. There are plenty of other photo studios in town -- ones that actually treat their customers with respect. I highly recommend you take your business elsewhere. read more

TERRIBLE PLACE! I'm assuming the old guy is the owner and that's why he can get away with this kind of service for years. Wish we would have checked reviews before going here! Walked in and immediately knew something was off but the photos were something my mother really wanted to do as a family. So we all shrugged it off. He gave us no direction, didn't make us aware of anything. Expected us to know what to do and read his mind. Then was rude to us when we didn't know what style of dresses we wanted because we didn't know there were different ones to choose from! We came in and he said do you have any questions and we said we wanted photos done, what's the price for 7 people? He told us and then went to help the customers he currently was taking pictures of. He finally came back and said you ready and we said yes. He said what do you want to wear? We all said we didn't know (because we didn't know the choices) he said "well then your not ready!" Told us to come back there and left us unattended with no instructions to finish helping check out his current customers. So we start picking our dresses. We put them on and that took us about 10 minutes. He finally comes back and is so rude to us because we didn't know he had to pick for us. He said to my mother "you are too big for that dress" and told my sister in law "your in the wrong size as well. I told y'all to come back here not go through my stuff." Proceeds to untie the back of my mothers dress even though I told him I've got it and will untie it for her. Then told my sister in law to come to him so he could untie hers and she said "no, I'm not tied in the first place and I'm not coming to you" he said well I want you in the dress (my mother) originally had on. At that point I decided we weren't doing the shoot anymore because he was being creepy & extremely rude. The guys with us told them we aren't doing it and we are leaving. He said he was still charging us the $60 sitting fee. So we felt like we had to do it. Well the more I sat in the dressing room, the more I felt uncomfortable. We ended up paying it and leaving because we just wanted to get the hell out of there! Of course after the fact we wished we would have refused to pay but it was so uncomfortable the entire time we just wanted to get away from this creepy old pervert who felt so entitled to this run down, terribly quality photography business! DO NOT GO HERE!!! I just went here on 1.9.2021 with ten other ladies and we had a horrible experience. The moment we walked in the door I felt very unwelcome and my intuition was telling me to leave and I should have listened. There was an older bearded man working and he seemed annoyed that we came in, but we decided to give him our business anyways. I was with 10 women and we got our picture taken. In the very beginning one of the girls asked another girl to help her tie the back of the dress and the man working was very rude and said he was only allowed to touch us and tie us, I felt sick to my stomach the way he handled the situation. I wanted to walk out then but we didn't. He then proceeded to tie up the dresses and touch us without our consent, one of the girls bra straps was showing and he took the liberty of trying to move it off her shoulder without even asking her to do it herself. When he got us all posed for the picture he would raise some of the girls skirts again without their permission, it was very uncomfortable. I personally had a friend help me untie my dress at the end and told her to be careful so it didn't fall, he said "I don't care if you don't care, you can even slap me if you want" I walked away so fast and felt sick to my stomach. He was very touchy and inappropriate with us, I couldn't get out of there fast enough. I don't know if he is the owner or not, but I am going to call and find out. He shouldn't be treating anyone like this! We are women and have a right to who can and cannot touch our bodies and he totally violated that. PLEASE DO NOT GIVE THIS PLACE YOUR BUSINESS, praying nobody else falls victim to this guy. Very rude and extremely questionable service. My two 12-year-old daughters wanted to have an old-time photo taken. I brought my daughters into the shop. He middle-aged gentleman with a beard told them to follow him to the back to get their clothes. I walked behind them. He said "are you in the photo?" When I replied that I was not he waving his hand and said I had to leave the area. I told him that I was not comfortable with him taking my two daughters to a changing area alone with me accompanying him. He said I had a sick mind and began cursing. The entire thing is captured on video and will be included in the formal complaint I give the BBB. I called the police when the man (talk with a beard) said I had 30 seconds to leave or he'd remove me. I asked for the owners name. He said I didn't need to know that. Unfortunately since an actual crime wasn't committed there was nothing the police could do. I recommend you read other reviews listed here as well as the complaints filed with the BBB. read more

When I came time to pick out dresses for my 8 and 14 year olds, he snatched the dress away and insisted that it was HIS job to dress my daughter. Literally would not let me tie the strings. When I intercepted (because all my parental red flags were signaling) he said we could leave. I told him we were more than happy to leave if he was insisting on touching my daughters as that is most certainly not a part of his job description. We were discussing which photos to purchase with the rude guy. We could select two. One of the photos was sent to the printer before we got to see all the poses. We come about once a year to the area. Incredibly rude from the moment we walked in, & made us feel as if we were inconveniencing him. During the posing, he moved us around VERY aggressively & inappropriately. After we were done, he untied my dress OUTSIDE of the dressing room and just chuckled about it when I spoke up... I felt violated. So sad & scary to see a place like this still in business. This place is a down right rip off! I came in May 2021and from the start it was a total disaster! First off the man with the beard and tattooed up from head to toe was rude and acted like he didn't want to be there. He acted like he got ticked off because I asked to get my 2 daughters pictures done. That should've been a red flag that he didn't want to do his job. And when my daughters were getting dressed in the outfits he came to close for comfort. We was right on top of them standing very closely to them. He told me to tie the outfits a certain way which I complied. Then he had to mysteriously undo them and tie them again, because I had done it wrong apparently even though that was the way he told me to do it. And keep in mind there is absolutely zero social distancing when you were getting dressed in the back he watched us like a hawk like we were going to steal some crappy outfit. So after getting on my daughters outfits he was rude making smart comments about taking pictures the way that he wanted not the way that I wanted. For example I asked him not to take pictures of them looking away from the camera I wanted them looking at the camera. He made smart comments every chance he got. So he starts taking pictures and he takes around a total of 8 and that was it! So I asked if I could get individual pictures of each child and that's when he smarted off that it would be around 30 bucks extra for each child to do 1 person at a time. I told him never mind than he dropped the price mysteriously that it was cheaper now that I told him no. So he knocked off $5 so I just went ahead and got one of my kids done by herself. So on the next round of pictures he only took around 4 more pictures. So after feeling rushed we get to the counter and we start looking at the pictures and they were such bad quality and blurry. So I just picked out a few the mediocre pictures because I felt like I was obligated to buy some of them. I knew if I would've asked him to take more better quality pictures than I would've probably got bitched out. So I ended buying 3 pictures for $75 bucks! It was a total rip off there are no prices anywhere. So I thought my total bill was going to be cheaper because I only picked out 3 pictures boy was I wrong! Also the entire time there was music blaring with explicit vulgar language. This is absolutely hands-down the worst place I've ever been to to take the old time pictures! Avoid this place at all cost! 3 Bears gift shop store in pigeon Forge Tennessee has way better quality HD resolution pictures. I ended up going to 3 Bears gift shop after I went to Legends and ended up paying $250 for 6 prints, 6 mats and 6 frames and a got a disk that has 30 plus pics on it that I can go and print them myself. Avoid Legends old time photos at all cost! Oh and one more thing I had used this place a few years back and it was okay because there was a women doing or pics. But the gray haired tattooed up bearded man told me he was the owner but then now mysteriously he just works there. Called the cops on the employee for getting in my face and being confrontational (without a mask) when i said we wanted to leave before the picture was taken. The officer made a report on him and I may take legal action to get the $30 back just for the principal of the thing. My wife needed help tying her dress in the fitting room, and he said he had to be the one to do it and i couldn't go back there. Obviously i told him we wanted to leave and thats when this whole thing started. Better believe I'm not letting some random guy be alone with my wife in a fitting room. She felt very uncomfortable and ended up crying because the drama triggered her heart palpitations. He also told me I "had a bad attitude and should be happier for the picture" after all of this. We left without a picture. Beware if you're bringing any wives/girlfriends/daughters and you don't want some random guy in the changing room with them. Highly recommend that you go to Old Tyme Photos instead across the street from the mall, that guy is great and very professional, better prices too. read more

I have always been excited to do an old time photo from Gatlinburg, my first experience in Gatlinburg has been awesome aside from the doing a photo at Legends Old Time Photo. Chose one of the other dozens of shops on the strip as well as in Pigeon Forge. I would never recommend this place to anyone wanting to enjoy their experience. I felt rushed, even though there was no line, or any other customers waiting for a photo. The shop was empty and the photographer said business has been slow. I'm not sure why she tried to rush a paying customer out. After 4 quick snaps of pictures, I viewed the pictures and asked what happens if I didn't like any, I was told I still had to pay for them. This place obviously does not care if their customers are satisfied. Deserves no stars read more
