Our Local Go To for Brisket Every Time…read more Black's BBQ in New Braunfels is our local go to spot. It is a quick drive from home, and their brisket keeps us coming back. We always order a mix of regular and a little lean for me, and both are consistently tender and flavorful. The sausage is ok, but the turkey on the rare occasions we get it is delicious and moist. For sides, we love Norma Jean's beans, green beans, and slaw. They are reliable and always hit the spot. One thing I discovered is that if I reheat the brisket in my Breville oven on the warm setting, it comes out tasting just like it did the day we ordered it. Desserts are sometimes a thing for us. The peach cobbler and banana pudding can be good, but they are not always consistent. Side note. I still do not know what to think about their family rival, Terry Black's BBQ building right next door. It is a cool vibe overall, and if you catch it at the right time, they even have musical events which makes the visit even better.

I stopped at Black's Barbecue in New Braunfels expecting great Texas barbecue, but my experience…read morewas mixed. The biggest issue was the brisket, which was much fattier than I prefer. While some fat is expected and adds flavor, there was enough of it that I found myself trimming quite a bit off before eating. The food wasn't bad, and I can see why many people enjoy it, but it didn't stand out compared to other barbecue places I've visited. Given the reputation, I was hoping for a better balance of meat and fat and a more memorable meal overall. That said, the service was good, and the restaurant has the classic Texas barbecue atmosphere many visitors are looking for. Overall, it was an okay experience, but not one of the highlights of my trip.

Once I saw that, I told my husband let's just go to Rudy's. They have the best breakfast tacos and are less than $3 a taco. We were greeted with a warm good morning as we came in the door. The cashier helped us with the cost of the tacos, bag our tacos and salsas, and rung us up. I love the country style decor and picnic table seating but we decided to take our tacos to go. We got 3 tacos for around $10. They are so good. Fresh tortillas with great tasting scrambled eggs, meats, potatoes, etc. We just went to their order to go side and grabbed ready made tacos and delicious red and green salsa. All of our breakfast tacos were delicious. Egg, potato, and cheese, brisket & egg, and chopped beef & egg. The brisket and egg was my favorite. It had just a small amount of smoke flavor without being overpowering. You didn't just taste egg. It all complimented each other very well. I was impressed by the amount of meat. I love the green salsa. That's my favorite but I put both salsas on it. Honestly the bbq is hit and miss at every location I've been to. I'm not crazy about the bbq sauce either but I always like the tacos. Especially the bbq breakfast tacos.

Their brisket is divine and the sides we chose were out of this world. My husband loves their beans. The green beans were unique and I appreciated that they were super flavorful with tomatoes and delicious broth. The star of the show with the sides was the King Ranch Mac N Cheese!!!! I grew up on King Ranch Chicken Casserole as a child. So I was thrilled to have a macaroni with those delicious flavors. For a little history, that particular casserole emerged in the 1950s as a convenient, post-World War II Tex-Mex comfort food. Despite its name, it has no actual ties to Texas's famous King Ranch; instead, it is a creative, canned-soup-based casserole inspired by the Mexican dish chilaquiles. I am ususally underwhelmed by macaroni and cheese but this was the best. The macaroni shape was unusual and the closest I could find online was called "Radiator" because the similarity in shape to a radiator. It held the sauce perfectly though. McKayla helped us cart out our food to the car and was so sweet and helpful. We love Burnt Bean and plan to return!

Get there at opening (or before) and expect to wait in line for more than an hour and half, totally worth it! Currently rated #1 Texas BBQ by the long-revered Texas Monthly top 50 list. And let's be honest, if it's the best BBQ in Texas-- it's really the best BBQ in the world! The MICHELIN Guide website, gave them the Bib Gourmand recognizing them for "restaurants that offer the best value for money." And it's true!Imagine having the best BBQ in the world and still offering prices affordable for families! Well done Burnt Bean, very Texas of y'all! Ok, enough of the accolades-- here's my honest opinion. The service and ambience is family-friendly. But... don't expect to sit all together, we were a group of 8 and sat at tables back to back. I don't often get chicken at a Texas BBQ place, but I heard I should here and it did NOT disappoint! Fantastic with or without sauce! It's Texas... and so places are often judged by their brisket... it was the best I've had! The sausage is good with lots of flavor and not too spicy, but I've had better sausage. The star of the show was the beef back ribs! Fall off the bone tender and absolutely phenomenal flavor! I've never had anything like it! My son... ten years old, prefers chicken nuggets, and doesn't know much about BBQ (yet) took one bite and responded "Oh my goodness!!" While there, get the Street Corn Pudding as a side and don't forget the Banana Pudding for dessert!

This place has truly mastered the art of great food, amazing service, and unforgettable views. Yes, there's usually a line, but don't let that scare you away! The staff greets you with a smile the moment you arrive, and before you know it, you're soaking up the atmosphere. Grab a drink, enjoy the live music, or take a stroll around the beautiful grounds while you wait. Trust me, the time flies! Once you're seated, you're treated to one of the most gorgeous views of the old mill. It's one of those places where you can't help but pause and appreciate the scenery before diving into the menu. Our waitress was incredibly sweet and attentive, making the whole experience even better. We ordered the burger and my forever favorite, the Chicken Acapulco. If you've never had it, do yourself a favor and order it! The chicken is always perfectly cooked juicy, and the pico de gallo is hands down the best I've ever had it's so fresh, juicy, and bursting with flavor. Even the green beans deserve a shout out because they're absolutely delicious! And let's not forget the drinks... their Bloody Mary is fantastic! Pair that with the breathtaking river views, live music, and the rich history that surrounds you, and you've got the perfect Texas dining experience. The Gristmill isn't just a restaurant, it's a tradition. Great food, wonderful people, stunning scenery, and a little slice of Texas history all wrapped into one. It's been one of my favorite spots for over two decades, and it never, ever disappoints. If you're anywhere near Gruene, don't miss it!

All the spots in houston and Schulze's bbq is up there with any of them if not the best! I'm starting to wonder if Texas monthly is even a legit thing. Because this place could easily be number one. I'm surprised I've never heard of them because this is some of the best barbecue I've ever had. Some of the best customer service too! I'm so glad I stopped in. This will be my go to every single time when I'm in Seguin, Texas. Food: everything was phenomenal! The brisket was made to perfection absolutely some of the best brisket I've ever had. The jalapeño sausage, I've never had a jalapeño sausage that good! The cheese was bursting out of the seam! The tater salad oh my God! Talk about a blast from the past if you're from Houston Texas, and remember the old Heights camp house BBQ, you will remember they had Camp house potatoes. They tasted exactly the same wow I was so happy to try that because I never thought I'd have a dish like that again in my life. The brisket rice was OK. I probably would get something else. The banana pudding was phenomenal. This is some of the best barbecue I've ever had. Easy five star review! The customer service was great. The line moved quickly and everyone was extremely nice. I will go out of my way to come here and get barbecue every single time when I'm at Seguin, Texas. This should be on Texas monthly, this should be on everyone's radar if you love barbecue! Once again, thank y'all for the amazing customer service and amazing food!

The dining room was very clean. Staff very nice. You can tell they are trying to learn the craft of Texas bbq. The staff don't seem to be in communication with each other. I saw some white lady that just looked angry behind the counter I'm assuming is the owner. Now, I did have VERY high expectations for this place because I have been a long time follower of 90 West barbecue since they first began. I know Jesus and Robin moved to this location. With that said I had high hopes the food would have came along with them, which by visual plating, and taste it absolutely did not. I honestly felt them two would have easily been brought this place on the top 50 bbq list and that got me so excited to make the drive out to try it. I did ask for Jesus but they said he was off when we went by. That surprised me they always work! Haha I don't know if he will see this review since he is a manager but Jesus your very talented man with a heart of craft bbq we know your worth, your bbq was killer. I pray someone will give you a partnership to begin your own restaurant location you will do just fine back in San Antonio and we will be right there with you and Robin.
