We absolutely loved LEGOLAND! It was our first time there, and it was such a fun experience for all of us. My kids (three years old) had a great time and there was so much to see and do. Our biggest complaint is that they close at 6 PM, which feels incredibly early. There just isn't nearly enough time to experience everything, even if you're one of the first people there. We had such a blast here! My son is almost 4 and he could do the majority of the rides. We came on a Friday and it wasn't too crowded. It was pretty easy to walk around the whole park, though I think overall the signage here could be improved. We were always looking for a map, but you can also get it on your phone. It was awesome that they had tons of little creative build areas for kids to just go crazy on lego builds including cars, boats and more. Food options here was pretty good, I liked the galactic themed food court. Healthy food options were a little hard to find, but I think they did have some salads. They had pizza, burgers, noodles, fried chicken and plenty of dessert carts scattered around the park. I recommend getting there right when they open because parking is pretty easy! Been coming to LegoLand for years- live close by and up until this last year or so, everything was decent. Perfect rides for younger kids etc. Since they have been doing the fast pass, though, things have become irritatingly unbalanced. Typically fast pass gets feathered in at the head of the line- you go, I go style. But not LegoLand. LegoLand has decided that fast pass holders will go ahead of everyone regardless of how long you have been waiting. So let's say you have waited the estimated 65 minutes and are now at the front of the line. A group of 5 with fast pass walk up- they take your next spot. Ok- you think you are next- NOPE- another group with fast passes walks up, they get next and you are now like, FOR SURE I am next. NOPE you will not get on that ride so long as there are fast pass holders in line. Keeping kids stuck in line for longer than really necessary in this heat and humidity is uncalled for and frankly disgusting. Until they Learn to feather people in to the rides, I will not be renewing my family of 4 Elite passes. It's just a waste of our time and energy now. Don't get me started on not allowing strollers for babies who can't walk yet in the aquarium. Be so for real. read more

We spent three days at LEGOLAND, Thursday through Saturday, and had a great family trip. Without question, the highlight was the VIP Tour on our second day with Renate. VIP Tour with Renate Renate was simply amazing. From the moment we met her, we felt like we had known her for years. She has such a warm personality, and her way with children made the experience that much better. She was incredibly sweet and patient with both of our kids and made them feel special throughout the tour. One of the coolest parts was learning how LEGO pieces are made and seeing the different stages of the process. The room we visited was filled with so many little LEGO treasures that our kids were almost overloaded trying to take everything in! We also left with lots of fun little trinkets and souvenirs. The VIP Tour made an already great LEGOLAND trip so much more memorable. If you're considering it, I highly recommend booking it--you won't regret it. And if you get Renate as your guide, even better! Three Days at LEGOLAND Thursday's lines were manageable, but the park became increasingly crowded through Saturday. Definitely download the LEGOLAND app before your visit. You can create a list of attractions, see where everything is located, check showtimes, and monitor wait times. We averaged around 12,000-15,000 steps a day, so planning your route helps! Treat the app's wait times as a guide, not gospel. The new Galaxy coaster showed a 60-minute wait, but we happened to walk by when the line was short and got on in about 25 minutes. Other times, supposedly short waits were actually longer. One-Shot Fast Pass Tip We technically never used a Fast Pass. I purchased one because the app showed a 45-minute wait, but when we arrived there was basically no line. Thankfully, I hadn't scanned the pass and had taken a screenshot of the posted wait. Guest Services was very understanding and refunded it. My advice: if you're considering a one-shot Fast Pass, go to the ride first and look at the actual line. If it's long, buy the pass from your phone then. Don't purchase it in advance solely based on the app. LEGOLAND Castle Hotel We stayed at the Castle Hotel. The rooms are definitely small, but this trip was for the kiddos and they loved it. There are lots of fun touches. You can text the hotel for extra LEGO bricks for the kids to play with. If it's their birthday, they'll put a cool birthday banner outside the room that you can keep. There's also a treasure hunt around the hotel with four questions. Complete it and the kids get the combination to a locked treasure box in the room with a small prize. If you stay multiple nights, you can receive up to two prizes. The playground and pool were awesome too. LEGOLAND closes relatively early--7 p.m. on weekdays and 8 p.m. on weekends during our visit--so having a playground, movies, and staff entertainment afterward was a big plus. Also check out the other LEGOLAND Hotel. It has a really cool indoor pirate ship play area that the kids enjoyed. Overall We had a fantastic three days. Staying at the hotel added to the experience, but the VIP Tour really took the trip to another level. The biggest shout-out goes to Renate. Our kids had an incredible time with her, and so did we. Years from now, when we talk about this LEGOLAND trip, I have a feeling our VIP experience with Renate will be one of the things we remember most. My son wanted to go to LEGOLAND for his birthday, and it was worth every penny. We rode all the rides, checked out all the attractions, and did everything we could during our visit. LEGOLAND is definitely more kid-oriented compared to Disneyland, and that's what makes it special. The entire park feels designed around kids having fun and creating memories. This was our first experience at Legoland as a family! We stayed at the Castle hotel and it was super cute! I loved that you can choose what themed room you want ahead of time when booking. It helped break up all the walking and take a cool down break from the heat. I also loved that it was really baby friendly! Great place for families with young children or for families young at heart. The park is laid out in a way to capture the various ways Lego can be showcased for your enjoyment. There are a variety of mini parks within Legoland that will have rides, food, and of course Lego figures. I think two days is ample time to really explore Legoland. Food quality and selection is theme park style. The workers are young people who are interested in learning and having a job for the summer. Many have great attitudes and are enthusiastic is helping you to have a great experience. Kudos to management in providing training to develop their customer service skills. Of course, the stores have so much Lego sets and products available for you. Be prepared to exercise patience when shopping towards the end of the business day. Kids (young and old) can get rambunctious as their eyes are opened wide to the world of Lego. Any size tote bag is $2.00 for purchase. There are also 2 hotels on the property. One day I'll check them out and give a Yelp report. Special commendation to Jose at the VIP Guest Services desk in helping me. He explained how to use the member benefits and even helped me to have my adult daughter enjoy the park when the system locked out. This park is super cute and it well suited for families with children from 3 - 10 years old (though everyone can enjoy it.) The park is very well thought out, and there are numerous rides and attractions that children can enjoy. there are also areas where children can play with Lego. One of the things that I really liked was how most lines were relatively short, and some even had play areas within the line for children to hang out in a while. Their parents waited in line. This park is very open and spacious. It has a very relaxing environment that makes you feel at peace. There aren't very many thrilling rides. But that's not what this part is about. The weather was cool, there were no big crowds, and the wait times for rides were only about 5-15 minutes instead of the usual 45+ minute waits you find at other parks. Almost every theme park seems to be SUPER PRICEY now but thankfully this trip was a successful one! However, it seems like for the majority of the rides, your child has to be at least 4 years old or 42 inches tall, & unlike Disneyland, you cannot wear your baby in a baby carrier for the rides without a height requirement - except for only ONE ride in the whole park, which was disappointing because at Disneyland I can baby wear my infant for MULTIPLE RIDES, and I spent about the same money for Legoland as I would've for Disney. Also, parking is $40 It's also a bummer that Legoland is typically only open from 10am-5pm. The day goes by fast when you aren't given as much time to explore. Besides those critiques, for YOUNG CHILDREN, Legoland is a wonderful theme park. They have a lot of different FOOD OPTIONS which made feeding the kids easy. They were well staffed and nearly every ride was open & operating. There are multiple different areas throughout the park where you can get some hands-on Lego building experience which is fun and unique to this theme park. Also, there are multiple playgrounds throughout the park which accommodated both my 3 year old and my 1.5 year old. Legoland isn't as fun as other theme parks. I also don't think it's fair to pay for a child's ticket for a 3-year old. She could barely ride any rides. Why pay for a 3-year when you have to be a certain age and meet a height requirement to even ride? And the lines were ridiculously long for such a short ride. Legoland is such a good time! I didn't know what to expect, taking my 11- and 14-year-old sons. This amusement park skews toward families with younger kids, so I thought maybe they'd want to leave after an hour or so. But we ended up staying for almost four hours! There is something to occupy the imaginations of every age at Legoland, apparently. That said, you will get your biggest bang for your buck if you visit with younger kids. Kids who are preschool- through late-elementary age. The rides are definitely for younger kids, and there are playgrounds here and there that are designed for little ones. But older kids will appreciate things like Miniland USA, where there are miniature LEGO builds of popular Southern California landmarks, like SoFi Stadium, and landmarks around the country, like the White House. My kids also liked racing LEGO boats, and playing in the Hideways Play Area, which is like a big treehouse. Some of our favorite spots in Legoland were the areas where my kids could build things with LEGO. Like the spot where they built their own car, and they were able to race their car creations and refine them until they raced the way they wanted them to. We spent a lot of time there. If you eat at Legoland, be prepared to pay a premium for mediocre food. Also, the park opens at 10 a.m., but the food places don't open until 11 a.m., so keep that in mind if you arrive with hungry children. Also: You need to pay for parking! I have been here many times since they opened, first when my kids were young and now with my nieces and nephews. It's a very fun park for younger kids I would say under twelve. There are a few fast rides but mostly easy kiddy rides. The newest ride Galacticoaster was so much fun. We went on it twice. It's a spaced themed ride. So so fun. The mini land is a cute area where you will see major cities built from legos. So beautiful and fun to look at. There are a few water feature area where kids can run around and get wet. Perfect for summer days. This park is well thought out, you will find air conditioned rooms with LEGO s for kids to play with. Whenever they need a break from rides you can stop by and let them play with legos to cool down. Also there is a sensory room for kids who get overstimulated and need to take a break to calm down. Everything is well planned here even the food options for kids and snack options are great. I saw a lot of healthy snacks being sold at the carts. There is something for everyone. This was our first visit. Brought the grandkids ages 8, 6, 4 and all three enjoyed the day! We purchased both entry tickets and parking on the app. The park opens at 10:00am. After reading many reviews and receiving lots of helpful information, we made sure to arrive at 9:15am, park, and walk into the park and get in line. We brought a wagon, water bottles, and snacks for the kiddos. The kids requested churros and dippin dots about 1:30pm so they enjoyed those. So many people in line for the new Galactic coaster so we passed on that on this trip. The kids did ride several rides and did some shopping too. Went to Legoland with my fiancée. I used to love this place as a kid and thought it would hit like Disneyland. Nostalgic, immersive, fun for grown-ups too. It didn't. A lot of the huge Lego structures that used to fill the park are gone, so it felt emptier than I remembered. The rides are clearly for little kids. Ninjago didn't run well and wasn't even accurate. First time ever visiting Lego land! To start, the customer service workers are the stars of this whole trip! We had a hiccup with our tickets, we purchased for the wrong date, we called and got it situated. We had to wait in line to speak to them the day of which dint take long, we got the ticktes and we were on our way! There was a bit of a confusion again with the tickets not having the aquarium included like we thought when we purchased. The worker at the aquarium informed us we needed physical tickets and had to head to guest services. We stepped out of line and headed to guest services where they helped us and politely informed us we could purchase them online and didn't have to be a physical ticket, they apologized for the inconvenience and we were on our way. That was a bit disappointing as we did have to take the group on a walk when we could've purchased them quickly online and hopped back in line to wait again. Regardless the aquarium was amazing! So many things to see, they had time slots where employees would come out with live animals. Lots of cool look our spots to see the fishes from different angles! There was even a touch tank! It was aimed towards kids, but all the adults in the group loved this area! We ordered some fries as a quick snack, they were a disappointing, even for an amusement park. The cup we had wasn't filled, for the price I hoped to at least be given a full cup. But the fries were hot and crispy! The seasoning wasn't my favorite but it did calm down the hunger while we explored some more! The bathrooms were very clean! There weren't much line to wait and if there was they went by very quickly! They also had cvs stations around just in case of accidents. Lots of signs posted around to help navigate and locate things easily. Overall for a first time experience it was good! It was $99 for an adult ticket and so many of the rides were down, trash cans were overflowing, staff weren't friendly or helpful, the BBQ restaurant was just okay, and everything was SO expensive. There were long lines for everything. My daughter is almost 8 and a lot of Legoland felt kind of baby-ish. It is a much better park for kids ages 2-5 in my opinion. I love LEGOLAND! We used to live close by to the park, but our girls were girl by the time like a land came around. Now that our grandchildren are here, I have the privilege to be able to take them when they are available. I love that the park is so close to where my grandchildren live. I am able to take them sometimes after school for even just a couple of hours since we have an annual pass we can go anytime. I love that. The park is not too big that I can take them around the park easily. I haven't taken the kids to the waterpark located in LEGOLAND. I will leave that up to their mom to take them. Customer service varies. During today's visit I had a couple of employees that just aren't personable. There's a lot more pros than cons so I will give them that. Like anything else anywhere else the food and snack prices are very high. The good thing is they allow you to bring outdoor food and drink. I would return specially for some apple fries. If you haven't tried them yet. Make sure you do. I will continue to return to LEGOLAND as long as my grand kiddos, still wish to visit LEGOLAND. The LEGOLAND Park was still enjoyable overall, although there were quite a few things that looked unmaintained, especially in "MINILAND". Some of the interactive buttons were not working, which was disappointing because those small details are a big part of the experience for kids. The hotel, however, was a bit of a downer. We stayed at the older hotel rather than the Castle Hotel, and our experience was not as smooth as expected. Our first breakfast was particularly frustrating. Since we were staying at the older hotel, we had to go to the other hotel just to have breakfast. The line was extremely long and chaotic because guests from both hotels were combined. To be fair, the breakfast itself was good and had a nice variety of food for both adults and kids, but the overall experience of getting breakfast was stressful. On our third day, we waited for the pool to open at 10:00 AM. After waiting for about 15 minutes, we were told that someone would be called to open it. We later found out that, for some unforeseen reason, there was a delay, and we were directed once again to use the pool at the Castle Hotel. I understand that unexpected issues can happen, and I'm not trying to be overly particular. However, this is a huge inconvenience for guests, especially families with young children. Having to walk to another hotel just to swim, and then walk back to the room while the kids are wet and carrying towels, is a hassle that guests shouldn't have to deal with. If staffing is consistently the reason the pool at the older hotel cannot open on time, then it would make more sense to consolidate operations and have guests stay at the Castle Hotel instead. Both hotels are priced similarly, yet guests staying at the older hotel are the ones repeatedly being inconvenienced. We shouldn't have to pay the same rate while having to walk to another hotel for breakfast, use facilities at another property, and constantly go back and forth between the two hotels. I understand that staffing issues can happen, but if this is an ongoing situation, management should find a better solution rather than passing the inconvenience on to the guests. Overall, the park was still enjoyable, but the lack of maintenance in some areas and the hotel experience took away from what could have been a much better stay. read more

So fun and much more affordable than the bigger theme parks, and yet still packed with so much to do! But don't expect the same quality (eg lots of cobwebs on attraction). Rides: a variety from the calmer ones (riding in a jeep taking pictures of Lego dinos) to the more thrilling ones (coaster! Including the dino coaster for the smaller kids!). Lots to do! Attractions: lots of opportunities to build Legos and seeing them come to life! Ferrari build was a hit! Water park: the park was way bigger than I expected. It has multiple pools, multiple splash pads, multiple playgrounds with water features, a giant wave pool and a thrilling log ride, and more! You have to bring your own towels. Lockers are pricey. Food was hectic and a mess but there were plenty of food stalls and options. You could definitely spend many hours just at the water park. Aquarium: it's tiny but nice to be out of the sun, having a bit more calm. Good variety of sea creatures. A hit with the kiddos. Bathrooms: they were always very clean! Complaints: all the soda refill stations were out of ice by mid day and no one ever refilled them. And multiple machines were out of sodas at the same time. They need to refill these machines much more often. Food in the UFO food hall took forever. It's a 3.5 because once you hit age 9 and older, I think kids don't really connect with all the rides and even the show shows. Legoland California is really trying to cater towards the very young and toddler age. I would say the waterpark's amazing aquarium is fun but overall the park is priced high and pretty crowded. If you love Lego, this will be an easy 45 Star Pl. for you so I can say that for sure you are going to enjoy it because you already love Lakeland in comparison with the other amusement parks like Disneyland or Universal Studios. It really pails in comparison for kids that are a little bit older. I think the exhibits are cool. I don't think it's worth the price. The park is small and felt like a dying park. On a busy holiday weekend it was pretty empty. Parking was $60, the unlimited photo pass was $150 and the tickets were on par with Disneyland prices. I don't recall what I paid for fast pass. Fast pass scanners didn't work today. Half the rides that said scan the QR code to get your photos didn't work, even after visiting the photo desk. So those were 2 costs you could save on. Of the restaurants that were supposed to be sit down and not just buffet (there's 3), only 1 was open today. It just felt like a sad overgrown fairgrounds at best. On a holiday weekend you'd think there would be a lot of staff out, too. It felt very lean on staffing and they definitely did not care to even smile. From parking to ordering food, you were pushed to scan QR codes. If you're used to Disney's cast member experience, these people are the opposite. They do not care and they show it. read more

Overall a very nice theme park, with lots of themed spaced, but minus 1 star because the adult tickets are so pricey and there's not much the adults can do. We went here for one day and it did not feel like enough time to do everything, which was ok for us since we didn't see a need to try ever ride and experience everything they had to offer. Definitely for younger kiddos. We took our 4.5 year old who enjoyed the experience, but it could have been any kids theme park as we don't know much about legos. The experience might be more enhanced if you and your family are lego fans. This park has several bonuses and several shortcomings. I can easily spend the entire day there with my kids. There's so much to do, see, and watch. If you come on a weekday, the lines aren't too bad. There are so many fantastic and well maintained playgrounds and play areas, and I appreciate the sensory room as a mother of two toddlers. Now, the shortcomings. Every employee we interacted with besides 2 of them seemed miserable. They had bad attitudes, didn't want to help, were too distracted talking to coworkers, etc. to bring a positive experience to the guests. My other complaint is that everything truly is so expensive. I understand it's a theme park, but the prices for food and drinks were absurd. We also were so excited for the driving school to get our son's "license" and it was $30 for a card with his photo and a lanyard. It's cute, but they could charge 1/3 of the price and still make a great profit. This price gouging makes the difference in regular trips or not. Also, standard parking was $40. read more

When this was first built, my sister and I were a little older than the target audience. Now, I have a toddler who just turned 2 and this was SO MUCH FUN. Being able to go on rides with him was so great (at least 30inches in height). All the creativity that went into creating this kids wonderland was so fun to see and on top of that it was decorated for the holiday season. Not many sit-down places to eat that we saw. We ate at the smokehouse place and it was okay, but I did enjoy the banana pudding a lot. Restrooms were also conveniently located next to the restaurant. Another great this about this place was thar the crowd was significantly less than Disneyland. Enough room to walk around with a jogging stroller. So many places for the kids to run around and play as well! Last, but not least, the prices were decent (aside from $40 parking). read more

First time going here with my 5-year old son. The park is big and a lot of different activities to do aside from the rides. What I like the most, it has more than one play area, aquarium, and rides that are tailored for smaller kids. Keep in mind, majority of the rides and activities are for kids 12 and below. We purchased a silver fast track but ended up not really using all of it (includes 7 rides) because the lines were short and fast moving. What I didn't like is that some rides, specifically the newer builds, would only honor the platinum fast track. Also, I wish that there were more restaurant/food options. I think there were only 5-7 choices and all were pizza, burger, and ribs. Regular parking is $40, preferred is $55, and valet is $70. Overall, I would love to take my son back! read more

I came to Legoland on opening day when I was a kid and I love that now I can take my own kids to the park and experience it. However, I will say that over the few decades, this park is in need of some TLC. Especially in the mainland area. A lot of the animatronics are broken throughout the park and you can see that a lot of the bricks are weathered & in need of being replaced. Are they things that young kids will notice? Probably not. But as an adult, and one who has been coming since the very beginning, it's just somewhat of a shame to know that with all the money they're charging for admission, they wouldn't put it towards basic rehab of the park. Beyond that, Legoland is a great medium sized theme park. It's definitely geared towards pre-teen & younger kids, but that's fine. My kids are 8, 5, & 2. And they loved every second of the park. The park is also somewhat small so unless it's a super crowded day, you could easily do everything the park has to offer and still have some hours of operation to kill. But I think that's actually a good thing because you never feel pressured to run around the park to get everything in. Staff here is great. They're very patient with kids and deal with the chaos of them running around really well. Especially in the build areas (which I honestly wish there were more of throughout the park). As I mentioned above, Mainland, which is the center of the park, is such a mixed bag. The newer areas (Vegas, San Diego, etc) look great. but the older areas of the park (San Francisco, NYC) are really showing their age. Most of the motion is broken as are the little interactive areas. It's a shame and the biggest thing keeping me from giving this park the 5 stars I really want to give it. When we were there recently you could tell they were (finally) in the process of replacing some of the pieces, but still. It was just disappointing. In all, Legoland has always been a park I loved to visit. And It's a great family friendly park. It sparks creativity in kids by showing them some of the amazing things those little plastic bricks can make while also giving them some fun Lego themed rides to go on. However, it just needs to be kept up better. Something other theme parks in SoCal do a much much better job at doing. read more

Everything was awesome!!! Had a blast! Especially our little kids! It's a perfect theme attraction for smaller kids, the rides, activities, splash pads, playground and more. Lot's of food & options to pick. Parking is not bad at all, we get to parked so close to the entrance. The busiest part i've been is the lego store and line was long but went by fast. Worth the drive from vegas and our kids already wanting to go back. read more
