I love a great aquarium that has so much to offer in views for the little ones. Sea life is a great spot to take the kids, you can definitely be done in under 3 hours. They have a scavenger hunt type of activity where the kiddos need to collect stamps from certain areas and at the end they are gifted with a sea life bracelet. It can get pretty busy inside. I did love coming years ago and they'd limit how many would enter, you felt like you had the whole place to yourself. Now, there's just too many inside and everyone is rushing to be the first one to view the sea life animals. Overall the kiddos and I enjoyed it, and there is an area to touch the star fish, etc which is highly popular and a washing station. They have a tank filled with sharks, you see them swim above you as you walk through this tunnel. Time well spent with the fam here. read more

We recently visited SEA LIFE Aquarium at LEGOLAND California Resort as a family (2 adults and 4 kids aged 2-6) and had an exceptional experience! First off, the ticket pricing is totally worth it for the whole family. Admission for a 1‑day ticket that includes both LEGOLAND and SEA LIFE typically starts around $99 for adults and as low as $39 for kids (ages 2-12) when purchased online, which made it a great value for all six of us. From the moment we walked in, the kids were thrilled -- especially with the slide right at the entrance that set the tone for fun right away! The aquarium is designed with little ones in mind, and our kids genuinely loved seeing all the colorful fish and sea creatures up close. There were plenty of exhibits to explore and educational videos playing that made it both entertaining and informative for the whole family. One of the highlights was getting to touch some of the tide pool animals at the end of the experience -- a super fun, hands‑on moment that our kids are still talking about! And the staff were fantastic -- friendly, welcoming, and very knowledgeable. They were happy to answer all our questions and share cool facts about the animals we were seeing. Beautiful aquarium! I think I might like this more than Birch Aquarium due to the cleanliness of the tanks and the health of the fish and other sea life. The sea life aquarium was cool but only worth it if it was included with the Legoland park admission, which it is not. Overall, it's a pretty small aquarium. You can get through it all in 30 minutes, and that's with stops. The people working there at the entrance, not the docents inside (they were actually really friendly), were awful. Like, AWFUL. They made my son cry over a stamp on his arm, and then after harassing him about the stamp (that nobody even checked at any point anyways and that we didn't need because we were not returning again), the other attendant said he didn't even need it... Then when we reached the exit they wouldn't let us grab our stroller and said we needed to go all the way around the park through the park entrance to get it back...but that there was a parade on that side so we'd actually have to just wait it out once inside...without the stroller... Um...what? Eventually we begged someone to bring us our stroller but what a weird system not allowing strollers in and not allowing people any way to get them afterwards. This felt like a weird money grab disguised as an aquarium. read more

Fun for a quick visit or if it's a rainy day at Legoland. We had the Legoland and Sea Life Aquarium pass, and came here on a rainy day recently. The aquarium is pretty small but they stagger entries to try and help manage the crowd size. It's a small aquarium--takes about 45 minutes to go through--but it has some fun parts, like the shark tunnel, area to touch starfish, etc. They have a fun quest for kids throughout the aquarium where you get a stamp at each stop, and once you turn in your completed quest, you get a prize. Great way to keep kiddos engaged. read more

The exhibits were clean and well-maintained, but it felt pretty small and didn't have as much variety as other aquariums we've been to. There were some cool moments, like the walk-through tunnel with sharks and rays swimming overhead, but overall, it didn't leave a lasting impression. It's probably great for young kids, but as adults, we went through it fairly quickly and didn't find much that stood out. The good: I loved how this was a short walk from our Legoland Castle hotel. My friend told me that this place only took 30 minutes but I ended up spending almost 3 hours here with my two toddlers. The beginning of the aquarium has a slide. There were fun little areas where kids could climb in and look at the fish in a plastic bubble. We enjoyed seeing the sharks and sting rays the most! It was cool to be able to touch the starfish, sea anemones and sea urchin. It was fun to get the 9 different stamps throughout the aquarium and exchange it for a gift (a bracelet). It wasn't crowded when I came so they let me bring my stroller but I saw a sign that said no strollers allowed. I think it's too cramped for strollers generally. The bad: I came on a Wednesday and they didn't open until 12:30 PM. Legoland was also closed so this was the only place we could use our park hopper ticket. I wished they opened earlier especially for little kiddos that wake at 6 AM and nap around 1-2 PM like mine. The interesting: There's a part of the aquarium that is outdoors but it's only for the hands on touching sea animals part. It is small. This is no Monterey Bay Aquarium but it was definitely really fun! I would recommend it for sure! read more

The aquarium features a variety of sea animals -- sharks, rays, sea horses, tropical fish -- which tend to really fascinate kids. We spent the whole afternoon exploring this place and got the opportunity to touch Corals, shark eggs, sea stars etc. Their educators are very knowledgeable and answered questions in a very informative and interesting way so kids retain the knowledge. You definitely don't want to miss their tours and we like the 4 PM tour at Shark beach the most. read more

Small but mighty aquarium. If you're visiting legoland you can add this attraction into your day. It's a quick aquarium visit that's interactive and fun for all ages. My 11 month old loved it. We had bought just an aquarium ticket for $25 but we were done pretty quickly we ended up going to legoland also and buying a pass, that way we can go to either legoland or the aquarium anytime. No strollers allowed so prepare your arms if your little ones don't walk yet. read more

Speaking purely from the perspective of a family with a severely Autistic child to assist other families with similar challenges when they visit-- The entrance doors are timed, so you and your child may have to wait 1-2 minutes to enter upon arrival. If your child struggles with waiting, doesn't have the receptive language skills to understand, etc, that may pose a challenge. The layout is such that you enter one way and exit another and need to walk through the entire thing--so if your child is struggling and needs to leave quickly, this may pose a challenge. Especially if they expect to leave the way they arrived. This layout format also means multiple room transitions, and it's not easy to see what is in the next room, so also a challenge for kids that don't understand or hyper fixate on one room. The very first room once you enter has a slide. So if your child perfected on slides, that's just something to keep in mind. Because it's the first room upon entry, it gets very busy and loud, so if your child struggles with that, or turn taking and slide safety, that's a big challenge right off the bat. Our daughter could not understand the layout and wouldn't go beyond the first room, so unfortunately only lasted about 30 mins before she became agitated and needed to leave. It would take multiple visits for her to adapt and become comfortable, so given the costs per visit (passes plus parking), it probably isn't ideal right now. I do appreciate that Legoland attempts to be Autism friendly, however the accommodations they provide are probably only helpful to level 1 or mildly Autistic children. read more

My kiddo loves coming here and it's a good change of pace from Legoland itself. It'll take roughly an hour to 1.5 hours to get thru the whole aquarium if you're spending time at each exhibit. There are interactive screens that tell you more about the sealife in each specific tank. Good amount of Sea life in the aquarium with a fish tunnel and lots of observation points. There's also a touch pool. Also be sure to pick up the diver's pamphlet at the beginning of SeaLife as there are stations throughout the aquarium for you to stamp your pamphlet and get a prize at the end. read more

Sea Life Aquarium may have been one of my favorite experiences during my weekend stay at Legoland this past weekend! The animals are very lively and active compared to other aquariums I've visited (*cough cough* Aquarium of the Pacific). It's nice seeing them moving around! They look so happy and well taken care of. The aquarium is also a pretty decent size. It's two levels and has a nice variety of aquatic animals to view. I believe it took around an hour for my family and I to walk around the entire place. They have an outdoor area that allows customers to "touch" some sea anemone's* starfish but that's really the only interactive exhibit they have. Everything else is just viewing the animals from their tanks. I'd definitely say the Sea Life Aquarium is a nice additional area to visit if you're bringing your family to Legoland. The kids will enjoy seeing all the cool sea animals they have there! read more

Not a bad deal if it's included in the legoland package. It's a small aquarium that's easy to walk through for little ones. It's not sea world but there are a lot of interesting sea creatures. Exceeded my expectations. I'm a San Diego native since the mid 70's and have been to Scripps ( the old and the new one ) and many other aquariums around the U.S. I cannot believe I'm saying this but the Legoland Aquarium beats them all. I do not know how a plastic brick park gets it right while so many others don't, but this place is easily my #1. I'll try not to name others when being specific about the negatives, but another local aquarium is always hot, like they refuse to pay for A/C. Legoland's aquarium is always cool and there's a gentle breeze in some of the tidal displays. The tanks are designed in such a way you can see most everything but the occupants still have places to hide if they've had enough of people. Another more theme park based aquarium is just painted plaster so "unthemed" but Legoland's always makes it feel like you're on some personal adventure, not just touring a room with fish. At my age I'm bored with everything, but not this place. I've probably been a dozen times and even though nothing really changes, it still feels new every time. read more

Great add-on for your Legoland trip. This was an additional $10 as part of our package and we were slightly hesitant because it was described to us as "just a hallway" by our friends. It's definitely not just a hallway, there are multiple rooms and all sorts of windows and opening that are designed for kids, the very first room you go to has an elevated 2nd level and slide for your kids to shoot down with the fish. The lego theming also extends inside and its more restrained and finessed than at the Lego Hotels. There are sharks so your you can use that as bait to get your tired kids a little more energy by just saying "baby shark". Our favorite part was the tunnel with fish that basically surround you 180 degrees. Instead of being straight it has twists and bends for less people in your photos/videos. read more

Really cute aquarium that is interactive for kids! The adults will enjoy it too but this is definitely geared for kids. Some of the tanks have Lego figurines with the fish. My daughter collected a little pamphlet and got to stamp each area as she went through the exhibits. She enjoyed it all. We added the Sea Life Aquarium to our Lego Land tickets and found that 45 minutes was too rushed. An hour was doable but probably and hour and a half is best to walk through the entire exhibit without being rushed. Overall, really cute for kids. Legoland opens at 10:00 am the aquarium at 10:30 am..............at 17:00......we walk into the aquarium again for like what seems like the 100th time today, and it was our last time going in for the day.....We had been on a mission to find a Mr.Gold.....for a little over a year today......we got the season passes come every other weekend to look and see if we get a Mr. Gold..........and today Ethan made it happen........ My 12 year old did all his homework about finding a Mr.Gold and all the little secrets........My boy wouldn't forgive anyone when it came to finding one. I believe some of the employees even shared they remembered him........I always went home brokenhearted......because everytime we went he would ask everyone, he would see.....water park included......Well today Easter Sunday, April 20th, 2025......he had one..... A Mr.Gold..... the moment we walked out he was so happy he cried.......obviously I rejoiced and cried with him.....out of joy and all of his determination in getting Mr.Gold....Thank You Legoland for such a amazing, kid orientated park both my boys age 12 and 7 have grown up with Legoland in their life. The staff has been wonderful, and for such a reason we will continue coming until the kids say they are not. The Sea life aquarium is part of Legoland but you can just purchase the aquarium part separately for $25 per adult (we didn't bring kids so didn't pay attention to the kids prices) if you don't want to go into the main park. HOWEVER, you do need to pay for parking and boy, talk about sticker shock!! For one thing it took a long time to just get into the parking area. The line of cars snaked along the entrance road and we came a little after opening. What took so long was that there were attendants taking payment before you enter the lot. And it was $30!! Poor guy probably had to listen to comments about the price all day. My suggestion is to come early- as close to opening as you can. We got a decent spot but when we left 2 hours later, cars were parking in the overflow lot. The aquarium itself was great! It's two stories of very interesting exhibits of sea life. A lot of them are rescues from different situations. I found the coral displays very cool. Much of the coral they had were confiscated by the authorities from illegal sellers. There was a walk thru tunnel where the fish swim around and above you and a very fun touch pool. There are two levels of exhibits. The staff were so friendly and nice on top of being very knowledgeable. They seemed genuinely excited and happy to talk about the sea life. The kids had drawing activities and a stamp book to mark as they go through the exhibits. The only thing was that the eating place was closed- looked so empty and sad. Was kind of a let down to see it like that. No staff? It took us about 1-1/2 to 2 hours to go through it but we adults had lots of discussions with the staff. Maybe around 1-1/2 hour with kiddos. Overall a cozy little aquarium, slightly larger than the Birch aquarium in La Jolla. It's great for kids and probably more worth it if you already have a Legoland pass so that you can continue the day with other activities. However, for us, it was not worth the long drive and wait into the parking lot and security check (which is just one massive human traffic jam for all of their parks), entrance price ($25/adult) plus parking ($30) for a ~1 hour experience (again, it was quite small, but well maintained and structured). read more

I was surprised how big this aquarium was. I loved the variety of sea creatures they had. The way this is designed for the fish to be above your head was very cool to. They also had a bottom part under the aquarium where people can go and put there head so it looks like there in the tank with the fish. I would come back again. This is a nice enough attraction, I'm not sure it warrants earning a separate admission fee to go in. Fortunately, with a season pass, it's included for us. It's fun and fine, but nothing special or extraordinary compared to other aquariums, and in fact if you go to places like the Aquarium of the Pacific (Long Beach, CA aquarium), you'll have a better aquatic experience... so, in that way this place is A-OK and average, not bad, but not noteworthy for it's nautical attractions and depth & diversity of fishes and sea life. I do think it's great for kids while in Legoland and a good attraction. I'm surprised it's not part of the park that comes with every admission 'tho. It's open later than the park, so it extends your day an hour, and that's super smart. If this was located no where close to Legoland I would rate this an easy 4 or 5. However, because its within Legoland its tough because of the following: If you have ever heard of a similar experience from a company called SeaQuest (various locations), this is a very very similar concept/feel. It's not a big Aquarium--small by comparison of others, and gives you a chance to experience a lot of various sea life experiences. With that said, as a parent with KIDS, you can't just go here without your kids feeling bad if you don't go to Legoland which is within sights. They will think it's part of it. This Sea Life experience is a good value by itself at about $25. A lot of things to see and very educational for those who want to know or are into sea life. It isn't a long experience. Unless you really read everything and spend time thoroughly going through each thing--I would say you'll spend a good hour here. If you will be here at Legoland for 2 days, I say it's worth it to just get this as part of the parkhopper as it comes out to even cheaper. If you are only at Legoland for 1 day--and you are trying to do EVERYTHING there, the 1 hour+ might make or break that goal if you add Sea Life. However, if there for 2 days, I say its worth the little extra for young kiddos. read more

What a wonderful learning experience for adults and children alike. The displays are incredible, people can enjoy learning about our oceans and sea life while having a good time. The tanks are set up in with multiple portals at various heights for all ages to enjoy. Sea life inside are well cared for, especially appreciated the explanations and photos of each species. Came here during covid from AZ. We we're staying in San Diego so took a 40 min drive to come here and take our daughter. Umm definitely not worth it we spent more time in the car then in the aquarium. It was super small and it seemed like one huge tank full of the same fish and sharks but different angles of the tank in different areas. Luckily we only paid $10 a ticket. I was reading reviews that say it's normally $25 a ticket and I would NEVER pay that. It definitely was not worth it. There was an annoying co worker who kept telling us to pull our masks above our nose when we were 6 feet away from others and weren't even inside. It was sooo hot outside waiting and we couldn't breathe. We kept our distance so this last was irritating. Anyways I wouldn't recommend. Not worth it. read more

Really not impressed. Not only is it an extra charge on top of LegoLand, but it really did not meet any of our expectations, even for our 5-year-old. Ok, I realize that we're from Hawaii and I'm an underwater photographer, but the layout and displays in this "Sea Life Aquarium" seem to just capitalize on the Lego name to bring in more money. Here's my list of cons: 1. Not great at all. I was bored. And I felt sorry for all the sea life that did not have adequate living spaces. 2. Hot...no air. There was absolutely no circulation of air throughout the maze of tunnels. And this was November! I can't imagine what it would be like in the Summer. 3. Poor layout. The layout of the entire project was poorly done. It was like a maze of tunnels that twist and wound through the building and stops to an open corridor every once in a while to try and sell you more stuff. 4. Low ceilings. If you at at all claustrophobic, this is NOT the place for you. It is dark and stuffy. And when you look up, all you see is an unfinished ceiling like you're in a makeshift Halloween maze in an abandoned factory. 5. Sound. The insulation, or lack thereof, makes these tunnels' noise deafening. I know sound reverberates through glass, so I can't imagine what all the sea life hears with this deafening noises from the kids, etc. 6. Loss. It is VERY easy to lose someone in this dark maze of low ceiling tunnels. Watch your kids! 7. The finalé. At the end, if you got all the stamps on your handout, you get a prize. Yeah, not so much! It was a junky Burger King like cardboard hat that you put together. Come on now! So cheap! Not worth the money. When we heard about it, the concept sounded good. But, if we were to go back to Legoland, this would be a definite skip on our visit. Save your money. Pros: 1. There was an EXIT! ADVICE: SKIP IT! read more
