Leif Johnson has been by far the worst experience one can go through when purchasing a vehicle. I purchased a CERTIFIED PRE-OWNED Explorer. After 1-2 days driving, something felt funny (like a large jolt). We took it back and the service department teamed with finance to "make things right" as we were wanting to back out with their commitment to return it within an allotted time. They put us in a brand new loaner and reassured us it would come back with no problems. Of course, stupid us, this took us out of the "return" period. Got vehicle back, same issue. Took Service Manager with us to show the issue as he couldn't replicate it. Boom...replicated. We were then promised to be given WeatherTech floor mats and a maintenance service package as once again I was going to be put into a loaner car. They decided to put a whole new transmission. Luckily I purchased the premium extended warranty or this could have been nasty. The service manager was great, despite all the issues we had (I documented that I only had my vehicle in my possession for a total of 3 weeks in the first 4 months I owned it...mostly bc I was waiting on a loaner or it would have been less). But with the service manager making things right, we worked with them. Recently, we went in to get an oil change and they stated we didn't have a maintenance service package. And the service manager retired and was no longer there. I asked for them to review the history and see we haven't paid for oil changes, etc. and they twisted it and said "yes I see we have comped your oil changes". I told them I had a signed letter with them committing to a maintenance package and they said you'll have to show that. Went home. Found letter. Today I get a call from their Operations Director, Kevin Hopper, and he tells me that when they give a maintenance package out it is "typically" 5-6 oil changes and wiper blades. He then said "we have exceeded our commitment and will no longer be doing anything further for you". I let him know that is false, as the package the service manager and I talked about covered far more than that (it was a package that was available to purchase). Needless to say, Leif Johnson has been nothing short of scandalous behavior from the beginning! Do not trust them. Even a signed letter can be twisted into nothing!

Mark is a breath of fresh air in the car sales world! I looked for months for a new (used)…read morevehicle, purchased many carfax reports, researched and test drove, spoke with many sales individuals, and sacrificed many hours to the negotiation waiting games with the sales managers. During one of my daily searches on Auto Trader a new listing popped up for Mark Weinstein Motors. It was a "unicorn" vehicle - rare in existence - an older model, incredibly low mileage, in fantastic shape (barely driven) and the listed price was in the KBB green price range (either good or great price for the vehicle's value). I reached out to Mark, who was quick to answer any and all my questions. I was in Houston and I couldn't make the trip to Austin to see the vehicle until the weekend, but he graciously agreed to hold the vehicle for me without any downpayment once I had set an appointment for a third party inspection. Despite receiving other inquiries about the vehicle, he held it for me for almost a week and even stayed a little late on Friday for my husband's and my arrival into town. The test drive and purchase process were smooth and straightforward. Mark explained everything thoroughly and even went the extra step of fixing the temporary paper license plate on top of an old metal plate to make it more secure. It's another example of Mark's great customer service. Like his great communication from start to finish - phone calls and text messages were always answered promptly. He is good-natured and honest, which is hard to find in the car shopping business. I would recommend him to anyone looking to purchase a vehicle!

Mr. Weinstein waited for us to arrive (same day-4hrs travel time) after close of business to provide an exceptional car buying experience with 1 hour process of our purchase and drive off. I will definitely refer anyone looking for a used vehicle. Good quality vehicles, no sales gimmicks, full transparency. Rare qualities, definitely appreciated in the used car arena. Thank you Mr. Weinstein.

During the "chip shortage" of 2021, I contacted Signature to consign and sell my Lexus LS500…read more Daniel Driskell, the owner, was very easy to work with. He runs a professional operation. We negotiated the consignment contract. If you have a unique car or a reserve price, don't hesitate to brainstorm terms with Daniel. He's creative and a real capitalist entrepreneur! Office facilities are professional. Cars are kept in the office building parking garage. His team marketed and sold my LS500 in about 20 days. Marketing included extensive photos taken at the office building. Every car will take a different amount of time. The LS500 is a huge and interesting sedan that doesn't appeal to everyone, If you have a hyper-popular car, expect Daniel's team to sell it much, much faster. Receipt of funds was easy- Daniel provided a check to me once the buyer's funds had cleared Signature's account. Note if you "debadged" (aka removed emblems)- Signature will charge you for the replacement of the badging. Minor issue but it's good to know in advance,

Daniel was active during the selling process but failed to disclose all the mechanical issues, lack of keys and features with the car. I had traded in a perfect condition Audi Q5 to a car that now after 60 days I'm getting quoted over 4-6 thousand in repairs. And after getting quoted for how much dealers are willing to pay for the car I'm down over 20k on what I bought the car for from him. Please bring a mechanic or someone to inspect the car he is selling you. Out of many used cars I have owned I have never felt this cheated out of money.

Yes, believe it, another awesome 5 star experience with Universal Motors. I know it sounds quirky…read more- - I mean, how can anyone consistently exceed customer expectations every single time? Universal can, let me show you. Aside from "Katrina" (my '01 Silver Bullet) I also own an '88 Toyota Supra Turbo named "Black Beauty". I bought her used in '99 from my BFF after college graduation and moved her down to the TX heat from MI. If Paris Hilton ever had the privilege to ride in Black Beauty she'd definitely say "That's Hot". Fast forward a few years, I started having engine problems - when I used the A/C the engine would overheat w/in 20 min, that's not good because now you're talking about something serious. I eventually got used to driving w/ the windows open and no A/C (yes, sweating like a pig). None of my friends wanted to ride w/ me in Black Beauty, we soon became loners, and we both took it personally. Like Paris says: "That's Hot". I did a lot of online research to diagnose the issue. Years ago before I discovered Universal Motors I took her to another local shop who directed me to take the expensive route: replace a bunch of parts and see what happens. So I paid them to overhaul my A/C, install new radiator, hoses, and thermometer. The result: no change, the engine still overheats with the A/C on. So after spending $2,500+ I got really upset at them and ranted: "WTF is wrong w/ my car?!?!". Their response: "I don't know". My response: "You suck!!". Paris would say: "That's Not Hot". I eventually upgraded and bought "Katrina", then let Black Beauty sit idle for a very long time, not sure what I would ever do with her. I thought about selling her, but the engine issue is a risk to any new owner, and I wouldn't get that much for her. Not to mention, we are also emotionally attached. Yeah Paris, we're hot. Fast Forward 4 years, enter Universal Motors. After several consistently great experiences w/ David Chong for my Lexus I finally dropped BB off and told him my sappy story. He spent 5 min looking over the engine and tinkering w/ it and immediately finds the root cause: "you have a bad clutch fan, that's about $85". What?!?! Are you sure?!? "Yes, I'm very sure, but let me do a more thorough check just to be safe. David did an extensive engine diagnosis and it turns out he was dead on - a new clutch fan fixed my engine overheating problem. I was shocked at how quickly Mr. Chong was able to correctly and accurately diagnose the problem, and all I could think about was how I wished I had found him sooner, but then again it's better late than never. He took good care of Black Beauty, spent a lot of time on her, and also repaired a few other minor issues. Now she runs like a young black thoroughbred like she used to, beatin' the hell outta Mustang Cobras and any Rice Burner who crosses our path. Our next project: a new coat of paint. Forget Paris Hilton, Black Beauty hearts Universal Motors.
