Went on a Saturday night and it was quiet and the service was great! Very kind waiter and bartender, and I love how easy the cocktail menu is to understand based off what you're looking for in your drink. My group and I shared the kale caesar, which was perfectly dressed in my opinion, as well as the burger. Burger was juicy, but nothing to write home about. Love this spot! The drinks are excellent, and they have a great selection of alcoholic, low-ABV and alcohol-free drinks, so there are delicious options for everyone. The decor is fun, and the staff was very friendly and attentive. It feels classy but not pretentious. A great spot to grab a drink and a light bite. I got two excellent cocktails: a martini with apple-infused gin, and a fruity negroni. My partner had two grapefruit-y mocktails. What a spectacular little cocktail bar! I was excited to see an upscale bar open near the downtown area and this spot has SUCH cute decor, delicious craft drinks, and great vibes. I especially love the gigantic giraffe on the wall. Service was friendly and helpful, but most importantly the cocktails were very well balanced and delicious. The ingredients and seasonal picks are well thought out. My group had 2 rounds while we were waiting on a table for brunch next door at Lion&Owl and everyone agreed that they loved their drinks! Definitely had to check this place out seeing as we love the Lion & Owl. The same folks put this place together so knew we were in for an eclectic experience. The specialty drinks are really something else. Similar to the dining in the Lion and Owl, the drinks have the most amazing ingredients such that you would never imagine they would all come out tasting good or even recognize what some of the ingredients were. I really enjoyed my holiday eggnog. Smooth and creamy and a fresh sweet taste. My friend had the Cordyceps - a mushroom infused rum with a whole bunch of other ingredients. He enjoyed it. Our party of four shared 6 tapas, two of which were popcorn. Even the popcorn is eclectic - Worcestershire sauce and garlic! Yummy.The servings were tasty but small. Our bill for the 4 of us was just too much! $240.00. That did include a bottle of wine and 4 cocktails. BUT, what really turned all of us off is the taxidermic giraffe - head, neck and shoulders. Even though it is apparently from a zoo animal who died, none of us enjoyed eating beside a dead animal. In summary, overpriced and the dead animal ambiance garner them only 3 stars. It pains me to write this review because I really want to love Lemon & Olive. I've been there twice and sadly I'm just not over the moon like I had anticipated I'd be. Last night I dropped in with a friend and ordered a dirty martini and the Triple Cream cheese plate. The waitperson/bartender was somewhat flummoxed by a dirty martini. Seems they're good at making their proprietary drinks but a standard drink was confusing. They only had pickled olives (bitter) and the brine was "super salty" according to the waitperson so they didn't know exactly what to do except make me a super salty drink. I like salt so I choked it down BUT as a cocktail bar you should be prepared for any drink, especially something as banal as a classic martini...disappointment. We were offered no napkins or coasters with our drinks and my friend immediately sloshed a bit of her drink on herself and had to get up and find her own napkin...disappointed. Also noted was the quirky magnifying glass left at our table so we could get a better look at the menu I guess, it's a clever old world idea but I would forego the magnifying glass accoutrement in lieu of a decent drink. Next our Triple Cream came out with no plates and the hardest "croutons crackers" I've eaten to date. If you're going to serve a fine cream cheese it would be lovely to have it on a soft French bread instead of something that immediately crumbles into a million pieces and risks breaking a tooth. And, the place is loud! I literally had to shout at my companion which is incongruent with the "old world" theme going on there. I was hoping for a quiet drink with a friend but got a college-esque experience of eating with my hands, having subpar drinks and shouting at the person I was with. Maybe Eugene just doesn't know the difference between a bar and a cocktail bar? And if that's the case I recommend getting Jeffrey Morgenthaler down here to show you how it's done. read more

So excited for Lemon & Olive! It's no surprise the team that runs Lion and Owl (the best restaurant in town) has opened the best cocktail bar in town. This stylish cocktail bar has a great ambiance and even better drinks. My wife and I snuck in a quick date to Lemon & Olive on a Thursday night. The ambience is great and the drinks are even better. My wife got the "Hot Grill Summer" which is a fun sour with bourbon, hot honey, grilled peach, homemade limoncello, and more. I got the "Maize" which has Mezcal, Nixta, cilantro and pablano syrups, lime, and more. Both were delicious, elevated variations on drinks that felt familiar. I was excited to see a new cocktail bar with delicious food opening up in Eugene. Even better it is owned by the same owners of Lion and Owl next-door, which has excellent food. They had table seating outside, inside and at the bar. When Lion and Owl are open, you might find people enjoying a drink while waiting for a table to open up next door. The menu included a lot of interesting cocktails as well as a wine list. They have appetizers, small plates and larger plates. I really liked the number of food options available, including 1 or 2 desserts. I tried their Canary Sings, and it was lovely. I ordered the chicken meatballs with tarragon & pistachio pesto, which was amazing. The corn and sweet onion dip with vegetables I would definitely order again, it was so good. The service was great, despite it being fairly busy and still pretty new. I'm looking forward to trying more dishes. The reason for 3 stars is because of the service and the bill that we got. When we checked out, I asked for the printed receipt and found out, our bill was incorrect. We got billed for wines from another table that we didn't order so their billing system per table was messed up. We are occupying a long table then they let us move closer together and let another group occupy the end of our table and I thought that they charged us for what these group drink but they charged us with the order of another group. The manager told me that we actually benefitted from the mistake but I don't think so because 2 of our group already paid more than 200$ when they left and then we were left with more than 200$ bill. We're a group of 7. When I asked for the whole bill, they cannot show me because it was closed out last night and they cannot retrieve it. They should improve their billing system. read more
