This place is the spot to be when and if you need your eyes or eyewear needs met. The crew here are top notch, and they treat you like a person not a number or atm. The Dr here is very calm and respectful when speaks to you. She gives you all the information and options you need. I definitely enjoy that she does not act like a know-it-all. If she does not have the info, trust she will find it for you. This place is just very genuine with how they treat customers/patients. I was in need of an optometrist after having lost/scratched up my glasses beyond repair awhile back. I looked up nearby optometrists and found this gem (on yelp), it was rated well and was close so I went for it and set up an appointment! I was pleasantly surprised with how friendly the people at the front were, this was not the awkward LensCrafters wait that I am used to, but actual nice people (no offense to LensCrafters, but I always feel judged when I go there, lol). Anyways! I filled out the paperwork and by the time I was all done they were ready to start the testing/checking. It was great, they were informative, sanitary, thorough, and I had a good time (which is not always easy when you're at an optometrist office. :) Their pricing was great, they had a good deal going on, and I was able to leave feeling confident that my eyes (and glasses when they come in) were on good hands. read more

My five year old was feeling sensitive to light and itching her eyes a lot. She never had an eye exam because I was afraid to start her with eye glasses at young age. I keep looking for kid friendly optometrist I found Dr. Paul on yelp and took my chance. Dr. Paul was amazing.. A concern parent (himself) and very careful with children . He examine her completely and even took the time to repeat some steps to make sure. Eve though I never being to optometrist exam room, his was well equipped. Lobby was as clean as it gets and his staff were very friendly . We made 3 more appointments with his office and looking for to see him again. Thanks Dr. Paul for such a excellent care. read more

I have been going to Lemon Grove Optometry if I can recall since 2008. I have been seeing Dr. Wesley since he was at the Walmart Vision Center off of College Grove Way. At Lemon Grove Optometry Dr. Wesley and staff were ON POINT, POLITE and Professional. Unfortunately, I was told that Dr. Wesley has retired and is now the office is ran with new doctors and staff. Today is Wednesday 3/6/24. A few months ago I made a appointment and they set me up with a new doctor working there, Dr. Keaner. I went in there as usual (myself and oldest son pretty much went annually) and filled out the paper work as normal. Part of the paperwork includes if you wanted to take and pay extra for the retinal eye scan. I opted out as normal. Now I am seeing Dr. Keaner in the office and chair I have sat and visited many times. We start the exam as normal. Pretty much same movements as Dr. Wesley. She then states that I NEED to take this retinal scan. We get up back and go to the first examination room I was just in and she is pressuring me to take this exam. I thinking in my head... I already filled out the paper work and chose to opt out. I ask her.... Is this MANDATORY? She did not have answer and back pedaled. So I did not do the optional retinal exam. Now we're back to the second examination room and here it comes... the change of attitude. She exits and enters the room multiple times with act of slamming the door on the way out. She returns, tells me she washes her hands and then wanted to fit me for my contacts. I informed her and asked her If I can put my own contacts in and that Dr. Wesley was always good with that. She replied back and said "It doesn't work like that around here". After I told her multiple times, she put her hand on my forehead and pushed my head back into the chair and tried to put the contact in my eye. I paused and jumped out of the chair and said "I'm done". I asked, "are those contacts the same prescription as my last?" She said "yes" and in hurry left the room. I went to put my old contacts back in and went to see the front desk. I explained that I wanted the bill and I won't be coming back. The manager came to see me and wanted to make things right before I left. They explained that Dr. Wesley recommended me the second doctor which I have never met and to please reschedule and they apologized. If it was not for April that has worked there since I can remember, always kind, on point and professional, I would not have agreed to come back to see the doctor that was originally recommended to me from Dr. Wesley. A few weeks go by and I was in contact with April. She informed that I was not covered and I understood because there was a change in employment. I told her I may not be covered till late February 2024 or March 2024. She set me up for the third week of February. I get a call from Mathew. Second time I spoke with him in the last few months. O yeah, people can sense attitude Mathew.. he asked if I would be in and I apologized and said no because coverage would not begin till March 1st. He said ok, "how about Wednesday March 6th"? I said "ok, 3pm?". He said ok. I called today March 6, 2024 and wanted to verify if the insurance was good and that they were NOT having me see Dr. Keaner. A new staff member answered the phone and said I did not have a appointment for March 6th. As I said, the only reason I considered going back was because of April. Not the same Optometry office that I have been going to for 15 years.. I will be going else where. YOU GUYS, DOCTORS AND STAFF NEED TO LEAVE YOUR FN ATTITUDES AT HOME!!! AND DEFINITELY SHOULD NOT PUT YOUR HANDS ON A PATIENT IF THEY ASK YOU NOT TO!!! read more

He's so calm and knowledgeable, patiently answers all of my questions, and provides excellent service. If you are interested in new contacts, they will provide as many trial packs as needed to find the right fit. That's how I found the best dailies for me - Acuvue TruEye. The office has a new eye imaging machine which showed my retina, blood vessels, and optic nerve, and Dr. Wesling explained that mine appear healthy. To prevent eye strain on the computer, Dr. Wesling recommends: 1. 20/1 rule--look at a distant object for 1 minute every 20 minutes of computer use 2. Prescription reading glasses over contacts Dr. Wesling is great at diagnosing and referring his patients to the appropriate specialists, which he did for an eyelid bump/chalazion issue I had years ago, as well as for my dad's diabetes-related eye issues. I've also had a great experience with Dr. Hari, who did my check-up in 2009 and explained that Omega-3s would benefit my eye health. First time here. Went in to get a new eye prescription since it been around 2-3 years with my old glasses. Everyone here are super nice. Dr. Wong was super nice and took her time explaining to me about my eyes and what kind of disease my eyes can get and what to watch out if my eyes seeing flashes. Everyone at the front desk was super nice too. They help me pick my glasses and explain to me about different lens and ask what i want. Had an eye exam here with Dr. Wesling, for the first time today, and had an excellent experience. I called about a week ago, after walking by and noticing how clean and nice the office looks, and reviewing Yelp reviews. I hadn't had an eye exam in about 10 years. They were able to look up my insurance info and get me in within a week, which was wonderful. The staff at the front desk were incredibly friendly, both over the phone and once I arrived. They make you feel comfortable, and as though you are a part of the family. Once being seen Dr. Wesling, I was also comfortable with the eye exams, and he was very thorough, knowledgeable, and informative about my results. He presents with an incredibly calm and friendly demeanor, and always had a smile on his face. He recommended glasses, and I had some anxiety about selecting the right pair for my facial structure. Barbara helped me to select my glasses, and she was amazing. She took the time to work with me, selected several frames for me to try on (in all price ranges, not just the designer ones). She has a very keen grasp of what types of frames best suit different face shapes. She was blunt and honest, yet kind, in her feedback on what looked best for my face shape, eye placement, and eyebrow shapes. I must have tried on 30 pairs, then the same 5 a few more times as I narrowed it down and snapped a few pics for my husband's opinion. She never made me feel rushed or that she had more important things to do. She explained my insurance coverage clearly and helped me decide on a pair that was both stylish and within my budget, indicating that glasses are "like jewelry for your face, so you want to pick the right pair". Overall I was there for about an hour and a half from start to finish, and felt very well taken care of for the duration of my appointment. I came here a few months back and just getting a review in. I thought I had made a review and when I was asked what optometrist i would recommend local this place was the first to pop in my head. I went to my yelp account and noticed no review so here it goes. I'm pretty much a fan of this spot, a straight forward, helpful Optometrist that will listen to you and provide suggestions. They even do the whole "green business" idea which I like, buy a pair, they give a pair! I moved to San Diego and needed to use my benefits before they expired from my old company. When i called about 4 optometrist, each one was booked and couldn't accommodate to my new job schedule (i couldn't ask my new employer for half a day when I just started working!). Got my late appointment, got in, checked my phone for a quick review and voila, the doc saw me right away (no pun intended). Went through the whole eye testing, was provided an optional test that cost extra but declined. Like the fact they didn't upsell me or force me into getting it. Sat down with the doc, took his time and had a good conversation about SD and local's spots while going over my eye exam. As soon as I was finished, he prescribed me, recommended me a contact but suggested I go with what feels comfortable. they gave me a case for my current eye glasses and used my insurance to the max. The staff is friendly, the doc knows his stuff, and the spot is flexible...can't go wrong. I've recommended and will keep on recommending. read more

I had been a patient there for about three years. Dr. Wesling and the staff are very friendly and professional. On my last visit, I purchased a new set of frames, and later found out, I could have paid a lower price, based on my insurance coverage. They did not fully disclose my options, and went with the more expensive one. When I asked about prices on frames while I was choosing, they wouldn't quote me the actual price of the frame, they would only tell me, what the difference would be that I had to pay. The whole interaction seemed deceptive. I have since changed to another optometrist, and they have prices on all their frames, and fully explained my choices as far as my coverage. I do have to say that the staff are no where near as friendly as Dr. Wesling's office, but I prefer to know I'm getting the best price possible when I'm making a purchase over great service any day, especially in today's economy. read more

This is my second time visiting this place and it will be the last. Employees needs training! I called the day before my appointment. I asked what's my Copay going to be after giving my SSN and was told $5.00. She repeated twice, $5.00 for your copay. The next day after my exam with the doctor, the rep told me "your copay is $91.00". What??? that's not a small mistake, I got a family to feeds. I don't make what the doctor make, can't be told $5.00 for the copay and end up $91.00. Also, the reps are rude when you ask for the PD number. They're not willing to give you the PD number. read more
