What an amazing experience. I have always wore glasses or contacts for as long as I can remember. I have never had such a wonderful experience visiting a new office. Making the appointment was super easy, staff was very friendly and professional. I had an 8am appt, which I was greeted by the actual Dr, she unlocked and greeted me at the door. Which goes to tell you a lot about a professionals character. Getting to the room for the exam took less than 5minutes. When Dr Peters came into the room, she was very lively, easy to speak to, made sure she was very thorough with what she was going to do, and helped me see again. My first attempt to find a decent eye Dr. in CA, with Vision Solutions, La Mesa, was a terrible experience. First, I called and made an appointment for 11am a few weeks in advance. Soon after, received emails regarding my scheduled appointment @ 10:30am. I chose it just ignore their scheduling mistake and go with it. On appointment day, I showed up and was met with an incredibly rude employee peppering me with questions on why I didn't bring my existing contacts. No one told me to bring anything to the exam. She kept going on and on about how they will have to do 'everything' since I didn't bring contacts. Excuse me...what? Is that not your job, to give a complete eye exam? I went on to explain that I never had to bring contacts to ANY previous eye appointments back on the East coast. To which she responded, "well, this is not Walmart" -- I personally never went to Walmart for an eye appointment, but who cares if I did or if anyone does, and why try to be insulting at all? I ended up walking out immediately after that interaction without going through the exam - I simply cannot support a business that treats ANYONE poorly. read more

We were looking for Orth-K/CRT treatment for my son and visited this office, the doctor was with us for only a few minutes when she kept telling us my son's previous treatment didn't work much and we should go with Orth-K, the price they quoted us was more than $3000, this is double of what we got in Bay Area about one year ago. We also looked the frames which were pretty expensive too, and non of them are for kids but the assistant kept recommending them to us.... We went to another office eventually and the cost was quite reasonable to us. I don't want to be mean, but this is the worst doctor office we visited ever. read more

Dr Cauchi was the only optometrist I found who could help my eyes (post-Lasik, astigmatism) get fitted for comfy contacts. She's smart and fun to talk to. They did have some staff turnover at first which made getting some lenses challenging because someone (who's no longer there) didn't do their job, but it all got sorted and now seems to be fine. So I'm pretty disappointed in this practice. I've been seeing Dr. Cauchi for a few years now. After receiving two voicemails and a text message saying I'm due for my vision check, I call and find she's decided to focus on pediatrics and special lens patients and won't take my appointment(?). Instead, I was spun off to see someone else "who is much more available for appointments". Starting at square one, having to find a new optometrist is a bummer. This, after I recently referred family members to Dr. Cauchi (who apparently will also now need to find someone else). Typically a doctor will see existing patients and not accept new ones. Am I a little offended that I got spun off, sure. Thanks a bunch. read more

I've called this place twice to make an appointment the first time I can understand because it overlaps the last time I had a visit with a second time I don't know who it was some lady named Alice just did not seem to want to take the time to take my information as a new patient, I understand medical billing .. that's because I am a medical biller so I understand how insurance works you on the other hand do not need to be rude to new PT that call in! Stop looking for an Optometrist, this is the office you want to go to! First (and probably most important) is they are never late in accepting you for your appointment time. If you are to be seen at 2 PM, you will get in at 2 PM. That, my friends, is excellent service that I have never got at any other eye doctor. The office staff is totally cool and very personable. If you are lucky enough to be seen by Alexis, you can feel at ease. She is very knowledgeable about her profession and enjoys taking the time to get to know you and explain what they are doing and why it is so important. I appreciate the time they take to make each visit as good as possible. Dr. Peters is amazing. Her attention to detail has not been surpassed and believe me, you want that in an eye doctor! I was referred here by Dr Arabo at Kaiser because I require sclera lenses. They are very helpful and friendly and they billed my insurance correctly. Dr Peters is AWESOME! And so is her staff. I have no complaints about this place and I recommend them to all my friends and family. Like I said I need sclera lenses and I had never wore them before they are a little tricky to get used to but the staff here made sure to explain everything thoroughly and were really patient. I'm so glad to have found this gem via Yelp! I had been procrastinating on getting a vision exam for the past couple years and I couldn't have picked a better place to go. I was seen by Dr. Cauchi who is so sweet and compassionate. I could tell that she truly cares for her patients because I have been to other optometrists who didn't bother providing any long-term solutions regarding the pterygium in both my eyes. Dr. Cauchi provided a realistic solution and was adamant that I did my homework so that she could make any necessary referrals; I know I am in good hands now moving forward. Love this place and the staff! I took my boyfriend for an appointment and was really impressed at how knowledgeable they seemed about everything. I noticed I was developing some dry eye issues with my eye and they seemed to know way more about it than my last eye doctor. So I decided to give them a try myself and I was so impressed with all the tests! I really felt like the doctor knew my situation and could really help me. I found out something new about my eyes that my old doctor never caught. They left me with some eye homework (more like excersizes lol) to strengthen my eye muscles and steps that I will be taking to help my painful dry eye situation. Dr. Cauchi is simply the best Optometrist I have ever been to. What a difference from the old guy that I used to see. She has the latest equipment and through the retinal exam, she found the beginnings of Macular Degeneration. But there is good news! There are steps that I can take to slow it or even reverse it!
