A well run business starting from the top - Anthony sets the tone great cutters at a great price

Anthony is a sweet guy, but he botched my hair for the last time. What was discussed as a 2 inch trim, turned into about 5 inches-6 after I get this fixed elsewhere. I've been to him a few times, but this time, when I tried telling him what was wrong with my cut, he insisted that he didn't want to cut anymore. I don't understand why stylists will show you how much they are going to cut from the length, have the client approve, then proceed to cut inches more.. The layers needed to be blended, instead of cutting more from the length. They were very busy, but letting a client leave looking like this is unacceptable. I've gone back to have him fix the layering in the past, but I can't get past him blowing off my concerns while I was sitting in his chair. I shouldn't have to make 2 appointments to get a decent haircut. read more

Anthony and his staff are gifted. However they do not read minds. Many clients come in with inspirational pictures and demands. I've seen it. Trust them! I've been to high end salons and Lemontree surpasses them. I always thought high price, high style equaled quality. No way great boss, great team and awesome work... equals quality! Many times you walk in and it looks hectic, it's not. Anthony knows what's going on everywhere, all the time. It's a well oiled machine! He knows his business, his staff loves him and I leave excited about my hair! I also leave laughing because he is hilarious. It's a good time. People out there if you had a bad experience, Anthony will try to make amends in a calm , professional manner. I've read a few reviews and you might just have been having a bad day. Lemontree is worth every $ you spend. I could go on. Oh yeah one last thing : he always remembers you and what service he had provided. I know there are databases. I just went to Lemon tree to buy a gift card for a family member. I told the gentleman I was here the night before to buy the gift card after I finished my day at work. it was 6:15. he told me the store closes at five on Wednesdays. I said the sign says 8:00. He said you should have looked online. ( a payin customer was laughing, and he was smirking at her laugh at me. I told him I just worked all day. I don't have time for that. Just figured I'd stop in that they should have a sign on the door that says it closes at five not that they're open till eight that's besides the point so I bought the gift card, he asked me if I wanted a receipt. I said, of course this way I know the gift card works, and I have a receipt to prove it. He looked at me and smirk again as the woman behind me said I usually check my bank account. I said I paid in cash again at me and just said, have a good day, my husband gets his haircut here and I will tell him I am not happy with the service I got . I visited the Centereach Lemon Tree today for the first time. I felt that it looked tired, old and in desperate need of some sprucing up...especially the floor which was horribly scratched and scrapped looking. It didn't have the appearance of cleanliness which to me is important...even at the end of the day. I did like my stylist, and because of this I plan to go back once I shampoo my hair and see how it falls into place. I was terribly disappointed in the appearance of this shoppe though and cannot, in all honesty would be embarrassed to recommend it, although the prices are great! read more

I came in for only a hair cut trimming. My stylist was very accommodating to make sure I was happy with the trim but I was put next to someone with no distancing. There was a flimsy plastic curtain that didn't go the whole length of the sitting area. The stylist next to me got something from her station table and was completely exposed to me. There is no 6ft distancing between customers. I stayed thinking the customer next to me was probably leaving but I left first. I also noticed the chair wasn't sanitized before or after I left. I was very uncomfortable as they do not adhere to CDC guidelines other than wearing masks so I won't be returning to put my health in jeopardy. read more

If I came in with thick hair why would you give me a blunt cut? I explained that I'm not from the area I normally go to Dominican people in Queens and I come in and just show them where I want the length and they do my hair. I've NEVER had to tell them cut in layers before but apparently that's what I had. In the end it was all resolved after another trim. I paid and gave a more than average tip for the service. When I reached in my car And looked in the mirror my scalp was super flaky and dry. Now I'm not an idiot or a arrogant person and I know that's my problem not theirs but if you were taking care of my hair and you finished the job would you really not notice the huge flakes as you were parting my hair (and I really mean huge no exaggeration) in my hair to advise me that I may need something for that. Walked in looking for a quick haircut one day. I was immediately greeted and treated like an old friend! I ended up with cut, color and blow out that day. The price was right and the staff was great! Loved, loved to results. Six weeks later I returned. It was like walking into Cheers. Gabrielle & Dawn knew me by sight, remembered what was done 6 weeks ago... it was like coffee with the girls! I had a 6pm appointment for my 3 year old son with Yvonne. I got there at 5:45pm so I would be there on time. I also had my infant daughter with me. We waited until 6:40 to be seen. Now I understand waiting a little bit because I have worked in the service industry. But that was excessive! My son has had many haircuts before and has never cried but waiting almost an hour had him at his limit for sitting. I finally got him to sit and Yvonne just stood there. I asked her to put the cape on and she gave me a dirty look and said that he has to sit still! He's 3 and waited an hour for his appointment! He's going to move a bit!! I think what made me mad most of all is that she never even apologized for being so late!! There was another lady there who apologized but not Yvonne. Yvonne didn't have a problem chatting up a storm with her previous client before us. When she was finally done talking she acted like we were an inconvenience. So, I left with my children without a haircut. I couldn't deal with her snarky attitude on top of my child melting down. She was very unprofessional!
