I have nothing but amazing things to say about Lemon Tree Ronkonkoma!! I'm picky about where I go to get my hair cut because I have really thick hair and that unfortunately tends to result in me leaving with an uneven haircut (not from Lemon Tree). However, I decided to take a chance on Ana and she did me right!! From beginning to finish, she was kind, knowledgeable, and understanding. After looking at my inspiration photos, she asked me specific questions to tailor the cut to exactly what my hair needs/goals are. I left the salon feeling pampered and amazing about the way I looked. Since, I've gotten so many compliments about how healthy my hair looks. Additionally, it was SO affordable! Imagine this: I took my almost 97 y/o mother (bd 11/25) to the LEMON TREE on Portion rd in Ronk for a perm today. She cannot lean backwards on a salon chair. She needs her hair washed facing fwd. That confused the two women in the shop. They didn't even realize she could stand at the side of the sink until I suggested it (bc the seats are attached to the sinks). I thought I was helping them instead they felt insulted when I explained how it could be done. Then they said "well her hair needs to be clarified 3 times. WTH? Oh u mean shampooed. I guess I stepped into the upper crust of stupid customer service. The woman that was with me is recently retired from hairdressing after 60 years. Guess where? LEMON TREE for many of those years. I truly didn't think someone could mess up a blowout, but I was wrong. I noticed the front of my hair looked a little wet at the end of the blowout but this wasn't a huge deal to me. It didn't look great, but I knew it would dry so I let it go. As I was driving home, I felt the wet area and realized that there were clumps of shampoo or conditioner(?) down the entire part of my hair. I literally had to scrape my scalp with my fingernails to get it out. I had plans and didn't have enough time to rewash my hair. I had to go out with waxy, wet hair. Also, is $35 standard at Lemon Tree for a blowout for long and thick hair? It has gone up drastically if so. I will never go back to Lemon Tree in Ronkonkoma. read more

I have gone to the Lemon Tree in Lake Ronkonkoma several times and its like a hair cutting salon and babysitting service in 1. A few of the staff members bring there children in or younger sibling and try to cut/wash your hair as well as entertain the child. And you know that did not go well. I though this was a professional hair salon. And recently another client told me that one hair stylist brought there child in a when they had poison Ivy because elementary school would not allow in school. And the same day the child was was giving flowers out to Lemon Tree clients. Oh my god this was a Health Hazard and the health Department should have been notified. I do not think the owner cares for the safety of the community or her clients. read more

I literally just left. Adriana did the best haircuts nfor both my kids. She took her time and was so patient and sweet to them (ages 2 and 5). We waited a while. They were busy and under staffed. There was an older woman working in the chair next to us and she may just be the reason I never go back and tell my family to not go back also. My 2 year old was getting impatient and I was doing my best to juggle two kids one in the front of the store and one in the back still getting his haircut. The little one ran and tripped. He was totally fine got up and went to go see his brother. He tripped again. Mind you I was right behind him getting ready to pick him up and the nasty woman as loud as she could in a salon full of people tells me to pick him up before he gets hurt. Ok let me say this: 1. You complained the whole time I was there that not enough people were working and it's really not professional but since you're not the owner I guess it makes no difference to you 2. I was right behind him. Unfortunately I do not have stretch arms to grab him before he falls 3. You have NO RIGHT to tell anyone how to parent their kid! It was rude and obnoxious. I really hope you don't have grandchildren. 4. There is NOTHING for little kids to do so please have some sympathy for a mom who is doing her best to keep the kid calm for the hour we were there 5. Not a great idea to bad mouth other people's clients while they are sitting right there It really sucks that this woman ended my experience today with that. I recently sent my mom and grandmother to this lemon tree but I am sure if they knew that's how their grandkids were treated they won't go back. Unprofessional over the phone over a simple question about something a customer might not be familiar with, the lady simply said she's doing horrible because she is there so early in the morning. We came in thinking they could help with untying my mother's hair knot, but immediately said they would cut it off instead of attempting to repair it. We tried another salon and it was the opposite experience (Glam salon). They were friendly and treated my mom with respect and assured her that they would do everything they can to help her issue, and they did. Please work on your Customer service and routine. read more

I walked into the lemon tree in Ronkonkoma asking how much for cut and color. I was given the price and asked if they could do it now, the girl replied " no". Than I asked just for a cut she replied "no" we are all booked. That wouldn't of bothered me except there was no body in salon. And smoother girl was sitting down and proceeded to tell me they sets the only two in and we're booked. Ok that would be ok to the regular client BUT I'ma hairdresser and been one for 40 years I don't do it anymore because I have a bad back. The customer service at this Lemon Tree in Ronkonkoma is very poor. I walked in and was NOT greeted as hairdresser was on the phone with a personal call and made me wait until her call was through. At same time, another hairdresser just looked at me and waited for me to answer, no hello, no can I help you. The same thing happened to me another time with this hairdresser who did NOT greet me. On a positive note, I have always gotten a good haircut. However, I will NOT return to this salon any longer. The worst blow out I have gotten ..ever I think! I have thick South Asian hair, they are not your easy wash and blow dry in 20-minute type of thing. First, the man who washed them pulled so hard while washing but i didn't say anything (my fault i guess) then when he started to blow dry his blow dryer didn't even have a nozzle on top. for my hair type that is a recipe for looking like a frizzy poodle. Then he asked the lady to blow dry them because he realized he was yanking my hair too much. albeit, she was better, she still looks massive chunks of my hair to blow dry which is a big no no for thick hair because it creates frizz and it also doesn't leave the hair sleek like it should. i ended up with dry frizzy hair - something i could've done at home and didn't need to spend $40 for. Not knowing any hairdressers in Ronkonoma, I made an appointment with Jessica to get my hair done in a "messy bun" for the wedding. She did a fantastic job and gave me exactly what I wanted! Not a good experience! Didnt get what i wanted and my hair is very very dry now. The hairstylist didnt even wash the right side of my hair so i had to wash it again as soon as i got home. I get my medium length hair cut here once every 3 or 4 months. I have been coming here for a few years for the following reasons: 1) the price. I use a coupon most of the time and get a wash, cut and blow dry for twelve to fifteen bucks before tip. Even if there is no coupon running, they sometimes give me the same price they see in the computer anyway. Can't beat that! 2) the girl who gave me my first haircut is still there and has a good following. 3) convenience. I never wait more than 10 minutes (with an appointment) and am out of there before the hour is up. I tend to go during the week in the middle of the day so the customers are mostly elderly women who show up once a week to get their short do's tended to. I don't mind, I actually enjoy their conversation in the chair or while I wait. The only issue I have is sometimes, the gals who work there are very busy gossiping amongst themselves. Normally I wouldn't care, but when my gal is gossiping with the scissor in her hand next to my head, well, let's just say, when I get home and check it out in the mirror, I have to finish the job myself because it's crooked or she missed a spot. No biggie, it's not like I'm getting stabbed in the neck....what do ya want for 12 bucks!!! read more

Let's just say doesn't treat children with special needs fairly - awful experience and will never consider going back. Humiliated my daughter so she was hysterical crying telling her she has lice and please leave after I told her she has dandruff. We went straight to the doctor who confirmed it was just dandruff and was extremely disappointed that the salon did this to us. Terrible customer service. Made an appointment on Saturday for 9:00 a.m. Sunday. I had my daughters baby shower and just wanted a blow out. when I arrived ON TIME for my appointment, there was a gentleman called ahead of me while the receptionist told me she would be with me shortly. When I told her I had a 9:00 app., she said "so did he and his person called in, what do you want me to do?" So unfortunately, there is no backup plan if someone calls in, and they do not honor who's appointment is actually with the person who did come in nor do they honor what time your appointment was for. NOR did they call and let me know there would be a delay. I was never a fan of lemon tree and this just solidifies my opinion. Good luck to any new comers. I have gotten haircuts from here for years, but after the experience I had today I will not be going back ever again (or at least with the stylist that I had). I asked for one inch off and she had cut four! On top of that she didn't ask me where I parted my hair so it looks lopsided, she made me take my glasses off so I couldn't see anything that was going on at all, AND on top of that while combing my hair (quite vigorously) she ripped my cartilage earring out (which is small and strong and has never fallen out before) didn't say sorry, and even after loosing the earring (which was at least $25) she still charged me full price. You always see those lemon tree commercials about how good their cuts are and how you shouldn't pay salon prices for the same cut. This lemon tree is particularly good. The same faces have been there for years and they know what they are doing. You can't beat the prices, the people are really nice, and you can just walk in and get cut. I am honestly disgusted that I paid for the service I have just received. After making an appointment, I waited 35 minutes because AN EMPLOYEE who was supposed to be working was getting her hair colored. While getting my hair washed (finally) the girl proceeded to complain about her bracelet was getting stuck in everyone's hair... yet she didn't take her bracelet off, it got stuck in my own hair 6x. Upon blowing my hair out, she never asked how I wanted it styled, or even where I part it. She yanked and yanked at my hair with a flat brush, then proceeds to say okay! You're all done... never once used a round blow out brush. I have long hair! My hair looks HORRIBLE. I wish I said something but I ended up being polite and just leaving. Lemon Tree is the best beauty salon chain in the New York area when you are considering price, value, and end results. I've gone to a dozen Lemon Trees all over Long Island for years, depending on where I am at the time and what coupon they are advertising at the time. The staff in Lake Ronkonkoma in particular are knowledgeable and pleasant. I get my roots dyed and they come up with the correct formula. I've recommended the Williston Park branch to several people who now go there regularly at my suggestion. It may not be a fancy place, but I would take an inexpensive visit to a Lemon Tree over any fancy schmancy over priced snobby salon any day because the end results are what I want. And why spend $60 getting roots dyed when it grows out every 5 weeks when you can spend half that for Paul Mitchell products and walk in unannounced versus needing an appointment a year in advance. read more

I needed a quick trim for my 4 year old daughter, this was her second haircut (we got her first haircut at cactus in smithtown and they were amazing with her). As soon as she sat in the seat, the hairdresser made a passive aggressive comment about how "Mommy should have gotten the tangles out before coming". (Which I did, but she's 4 and this is why we're getting a haircut in the first place). Completely cold toward my daughter, telling me if she doesn't keep her head straight it will be crooked. We were in and out in about 5 minutes (they cut it dry for some reason), and the left side was about 2 inches longer than the right side. I could've done a better job myself. Really nice clean place! Great FRIENDLY staff. I took my little girl here, 3 years old for her first haircut. The owner came over and took her right away. Made her feel like a princess. (Really good morale builder for her first haircut). At checkout she gave us a little keepsake certificate with the date and an attached little pouch with a clip of her first haircut...
