Horrible. Got my hair done by the owner. Came in asking for highlights and came out looking like a bumble bee. She was doing fifty things at once. After thinking she was "done" with my hair she kept looking at it knowing she did not do a good job but continued to let me leave looking like I had tiger stripes. I also had a sweet sixteen to go to that following day and she knew that so thanks for letting me go looking like THIS! Thing is, it was so bad, I wouldn't even go back in to tell her to fix it because someone who managed to do that can NOT manage to fix it. Couldn't PAY me to go back. read more

I booked an appointment online. I arrived at my appointment five minutes early. I sat down. The receptionist at the desk helped several customers. Twenty-five minutes later she's playing with register tape. I say excuse me I have been waiting here for twenty-five minutes. I had a 4pm appointment. The woman had the nerve to say oh I thought someone was helping you. Then goes on to say can't you see I'm busy. Now I'm hurt because not only have you just told me I'm not important you also said I was bothering you for inquiring about an appointment I was actually early for I looked at her and she then with an annoyed tone said someone will be with you shortly. I have been a regular customer for years. I always tip my hairdresser the amount of my service which is usually 25.00. I was so hurt and disappointed at being treated like I didn't matter. With tears in my eyes I actually got up and walked out. I know the world is very challenging and times are hard but going to a hair salon is supposed to be a treat to make yourself feel better. Well sadly this experience at Lemon Tree in Medford was very painful. I will be looking for a new salon that hopefully cares enough to at least acknowledge me when I arrive. read more

Disappointed. I have given this hair cutter several chances to give me a decent cut, but once again, the cut is not balanced! I had to trim the bangs myself that were totally uneven, but I cannot do the side that is uneven by myself! Yeah, the price is right $10...and I always give a $5 tip. The previous appointment I was totally ignored in the chair while she was cutting, chatting with the other hair cutter was more important. I felt just like a number. Then I had to interrupt to ask a question about what she was doing! When someone is in the chair, they are the only person you are to speak to. Or not. Sometimes people don't want to talk. My mother had her hair cut here. When they were washing her hair, the back half of her head wasn't even in the sink. So half was wet and the bottom was not. A guy cut her hair. He asked what she wanted. We told him just a trim and no layers. He proceeded to cut layers, took about two inches off, which is more than a trim and it was horribly uneven. One side has half of her ear showing and the other side has her ear fully covered. When she asked why some pieces were so much longer than others, he said, "what?" Literally the WORST hair cut I have EVER seen in my entire life. A one-handed blind person could probably have done a better job. Save yourself the money and just do it yourself with cuticle scissors if you can't go ANYWHERE else. read more

I have been going to Lemon Tree both in Medford and Patchogue for years now. I used to go to the store in Medford, but the woman that worked there moved. I love how Patti cuts and colors my hair and Lynn does fabulous job washing and waxing. My daughter has had work done by Elena and she was very pleased with her work and my other daughter has had her hair cut by Rosie. No complaints from this family! read more

We live 2 miles from the Sayville Lemon Tree but the people there always make us feel like we are annoying them walking in for an appointment even though they say they like walk-ins. After 3x of coming in for the early 9 am appointment and having to wait 45 plus mins, I won't be back . They need to brush up on customer service skills at this location . I went there to buy my mother a GC for Mother's day yesterday morning. When I walked in there was a woman cutting a little boy's hair and a guy washing a woman's hair and 3 people waiting. I told the woman I just wanted a GC so she told me I had to wait until the guy was done washing the woman's hair. 10 mins later, he brings her to the station right next to the reception desk. I wait some more. The woman hair cutter finally tells the guy that I was waiting to purchase a GC. I walk over to the desk, he mumbled something to her with his back to me and she tells me I have to wait until he's done cutting the woman's hair (that he didn't even start to cut yet) and gives me a face and shrugs. I said "forget it" and walked out the door. Are you Kidding me???? I went to the one in Medford and they helped me right away no problem. I have been patronizing this Lemon Tree Location for about 10 Years. I have had many negative issues at this location. Every time I visit it gets worse. The Cosmetologists are pretty good but the customer service and wait time are awful. Despite the fact that I make appointments there is still a long wait time. I have waited in the waiting area and have not even been acknowledged by the staff. The service is terrible. One time I went in for a simple trim and my hair was cut uneven. Patty the Owner had to level out my hair to make it even. Another time I got a touch up and my hair turned three different colors. My hair color was not evenly distributed so the color was all over the place. The third incident was once again issues with wait time. I left work early so I could get my hair done for a special occasion. I arrived at the Patchogue Shop at around 2:30 PM. Pat dyed my hair (I had a retouch) I waited with dye on my head for over two and a half hours while she worked on other customers. Not one of the other hairdressers offered to rinse me as they were too busy gossiping and playing on their phones. I did not get out of there until after 6:00 PM. I saw dozens of customers come and go and most of them arrived after I did. I felt invisible and forgotten. I was starving and I have diabetes and I had to get home to eat and take medicine. I did not learn my lesson and came to this location yet again. My fourth incident was a Keratin Treatment. I called to make an appointment and I was told by Elena that the Keratin was $99.00 and she made an appointment for 9:30 am the following Saturday. I arrived and I asked Patty about the price and she told me that the Keratin was $150.00. Big Difference in price. I am not sure why I was misquoted on the price. Elena should have known better. Finally, the Keratin treatment did not take on my Hair. I purchased the Special non-sulpher Shampoo by Paul Mitchell which was very pricey. I did not wash or we my hair for four days and I have only used this special shampoo. So my $150.00 plus tip went down the drain. I phoned the shop to inform them that the keratin did not take. Amanda informed me that I could not get another one or my hair would fall out and we don't give refunds on Keratin treatments. Lemon Tree Shame on YOU!!
