BOWL : Truthfully, my husband and i are a bit snobs when it comes to acai, so we may just have more…read moreof a specific preference than the average goer -- As far as the toppings like the granola, cacao nibs, fresh fruit offered, they were great. I really enjoyed the gluten free granola option and felt like there was a lot of variety when it came to bowl toppings. However, the acai base itself we didn't love ... it tasted very much like a sorbet and a lot more processed than the standard blended acai you're used to. It felt really sugary and not as "real." It is a soft serve experience instead of a blended type. The peanut butter is also just a massive scoop on the side instead of drizzle -- again, preference! We just like the taste of a more pure, real acai with even layering so you get a bit of everything in each bite. SERVICE : This felt very much like a homegrown spot, and my heart went out to the owner as i can tell she is working really hard starting this place. She's incredibly kind and personable and was honestly probably the nicest person we came across in chicago, which makes me want to give this place more stars! I will say, it was a really busy spot and i can tell is a big fan favorite. Overall the bowl was still delicious we just have a bit of a different preference when it comes to acai and this just wasn't our type - doesn't mean it wasn't still good for its own niche!

Sometimes when you're stoned you do the weirdest things and crave the weirdest stuff. I was scrolling on DoorDash for what felt like 67 years when I stumbled on Deep Purpl. Their menu literally screamed exactly what my munchies were demanding, so obviously I ordered everything. First up the Acai Bowl 20oz with banana, strawberry, kiwi, granola, organic honey, extra strawberries, and chia seeds. I am telling you this bowl changed me as a human. I had never had an Acai Bowl before and now I'm obsessed. Every fruit was fresher than fresh, the granola was a spiritual experience, and the balance of flavors was ridiculous. Then I got the PB Toast and I'm still asking myself why I hesitated to pay $6.99 for it. GAWD it was amazing. Crispy bread, peanut butter, banana, strawberries, blueberries, honey drizzle. The best $6.99 piece of toast I have ever had in my life. Because I clearly have no self-control I also grabbed the spinach and cheese empanada and malbec and beef empanada. No words. Everything was fantastic. Every single item was a joy to inhale and I will absolutely do it again. The DoorDash pick-up was super easy and the staff was incredibly friendly. The only minor gripe is they don't provide bags so I had to carry everything individually walking home, which was slightly annoying. But honestly the food, the vibes, and the experience? 10 out of 10. Will be back.

Originally on a mission for a smoothie, I was greeted by a friendly staff member and a much larger menu than expected. There is a slew of inventive food that all looked amazing, ranging from sandwiches to noodles and sushi. I opted for the Maca Picchu smoothie, a mini cranberry muffin, and an empanada. I was blown away by how flavorful everything was! The smoothie was creamy, lightly sweet, and very refreshing. The mini muffin tasted like a firmer version of edible cookie dough and was a perfect sweet treat. The empanada was not crunchy, but it was flavorful and the vegan cashew cream was incredibly smooth. I was really impressed not only by the taste of the food, but the texture and presentation as well. There is a level of detail and care that is apparent and really exceptional. Consider me a fan- I'm already looking forward to not only the next visit, but to bring more plant-based meals into my kitchen as well!
