    Lemongrass Soup

If you happen to find yourself drifting with a bit of leeway from the bustle of Ego Alley, or simply in the mood to explore another delicious corner of downtown Annapolis, wander a few blocks up and over to Lemongrass -- a quietly confident spot that's apparently been serving some of the best Thai in town for years. After passing it countless times, a light rain, my curiosity, and the perfect parking spot finally aligned and what I thought would be a quick "look-see and snack" turned into an unexpectedly lovely evening: an easy vibe, attentive service, and dishes full of flavor that lingered long after. The garden rolls were fresh and crisp, the lemongrass soup fragrant and balanced, and that night's stir-fry special -- beef with onions, ginger, carrots, and zucchini (oh my!) -- was the perfect comfort on a rainy night. It was a good reminder that a memorable meal doesn't need a waterfront view -- just a little heart and heat in all the right places. Already planning to return soon for a more complete (and deliberate) experience.

This place is PERFECT! Happy Hour with apps $6, beer $3 and $6 cocktails is a steal. The food was amazing. Portions are large and so delicious. Staff was Super Friendly and place had such a cool vibe. If I could give this place a higher rating I would. This is a must visit if you love Thai food!

We picked this place because it was not overly crowded like most restaurants on West Street. I wasn't sure that was a good sign but we were not disappointed. Food was great, drinks were good, staff were friendly. Prices were not outrageous either. They have certain cocktails for $10, which is unheard of in most places. Building seemed clean and it is right next to a parking garage. Decor is simple. They run an efficient business and I recommend it if you like that type of food.

One of the best Panang curries I have had in years. Really good food overall. My wife ordered Khoa Soi, which was superb. For appetizer, crispy chive cake was a better choice than spring rolls. Service is great too. They have a parking available right by the restaurant that cost like $5 for two hours, which is very convenient. Place is usually packed during weekends.

I went to one of my continued favorite Thai restaurants in historic Annapolis for dinner Last night. It was excellent in all areas, food quality, service and ambience. My Server Chase was attentive and very professional. I had the wonton soup and the traditional Pad Thai and all of my food was excellent quality. They have seasonal cocktail menus and I ended up ordering a combination cranberry mojito, delicious! I highly recommend recommend Lwmongrass for great food and drinks.

Nice Thai restaurant in Annapolis. Food is surprisingly great granted it's in Annapolis and the service is fantastic! I just hope the food quality is more consistent. It's a hit or miss depending on the day.

The service was impeccable. Food came out less than 10 minutes after ordering. The portions are large and the food is delicious! Overall, great experience.

We've been coming to Lemongrass, Lemongrass Too, Lemongrass Also (jk) for a long time. Generally speaking, we love the food, atmosphere, and drinks but it can be hard to get a table at times. Other times, you can sit anywhere you'd like. It definitely gets busier on the weekends so plan ahead and arrive early if you'd like to enjoy the experience. I'm a fan of traditional Thai food and happy to try new things so Lemongrass hits the sweet (and spicy) spot for me! The Pad Thai is good, but the Thai rice lacked flavor the last time we ordered it. We've had fantastic chicken satay and at other times it's been really dry. I've never had a curry dish that didn't completely satisfy and the portions are typically large enough to enjoy two meals from one plate, so take some home and enjoy it later. The Thai tea is delicious and worth a try. It won't overwhelm you with sugar and is full of flavor. Ultimately, if it weren't for the challenge of getting a table and the occasional misstep on dishes being dry or lacking flavor, we'd give this place five stars. We'll keep trying!

Went to the new Edgewater location. My first time at Lemongrass and was not disappointed. Went for lunch on a Friday and the restaurant was empty. The staff was friendly and helpful. The restaurant was very clean and had a nice ambiance. The food was delicious! Ordered from the lunch section. Got the Pepper Garlic and Pad Pak. Would come back and recommend to others!

Just perfect. We had the red curry chicken, Tom Yum soup, summer rolls. Outstanding Thai food! Just look at the quality in the photos!!!!! They also make gourmet cocktails. Great experience. Hope to visit again soon.

So I knocked them down a star because their sister location (Lemongrass Too) is just mediocre. But the downtown location remains decent.

It's so comforting and filling that I always feel like I need a nap afterward! The rich, spicy broth has the perfect kick that lingers in the back of your throat, and the lemongrass flavor is incredibly satisfying. It has just the right amount of noodles and tender beef, and it's even topped with crispy fried pork skins that add the perfect crunch. If you enjoy spicy food, this is definitely a dish you need to try. The food comes out fairly quickly, so don't be surprised if your appetizer and entrée arrive around the same time. I don't mind because everything is so delicious, but it's something to keep in mind if you like to pace your meal.

After hearing good things about this place years ago, I finally gave it a try. My wife and I…read morestopped in earlier today for dinner. We were greeted and seated relatively quickly and looked over the menu at our table. We asked the waitress if they had fish cakes, since we saw pictures of them on Yelp from this place. She didn't say anything, just pointed at something completely different on the menu. My wife repeated "fish cakes," and she pointed at the chive cakes. It looks like they used to serve them and took them off. That's a simple question with a simple answer, but instead of just saying that, she pointed at a menu twice and made it feel like we were bothering her. We started with the larb chicken and it was good. Limey, strong fish sauce, a little spicy, good contrasting textures. All good things. It's also the only thing I took a picture of, since by that point the experience had started to sour. For entrees, my wife got the boat noodles and I got the krapow. I asked the server to confirm the chicken was ground and she said yes. It came out sliced. Turns out the ground chicken version is on the menu as Chop-Chop Basil, but I was unfamiliar with the menu. It was an easy thing for her to correct but she didn't. I didn't make a thing of it, but it was annoying. I only had a bite of the boat noodles, but it was good. Nice balance of savory with a touch of sweetness. The meatballs were soft and bouncy, the meat was tender, good textures all around. The krapow was very good, mix-up aside. I asked for Thai spicy and they delivered. Excellent flavor, very tender meat, not too sweet. Probably one of the better krapows I've had out here. The part that really soured it was overhearing the manager with another table. An elderly couple and a friend had asked for their vegetables cooked well done since they can't chew firm food. They sent it back saying it was still too firm. The manager came out and basically yelled at them, saying they'd already cooked it longer than usual and couldn't cook it any more, and that next time he'd just put it in a blender. The couple had been nothing but kind about the whole thing. The kitchen did end up cooking it longer, but he never came back out to check if it was actually satisfactory. Maybe that isn't required, but the whole thing read like he was annoyed with them. The food here is excellent, easily five stars on its own. I'm docking a star for service. It was rude how they spoke to the elderly customers, rude to point silently at a menu instead of just saying the fish cakes are gone, and frustrating to be told the meat was ground when it wasn't. I'm not sure I can go back and dine in because it felt like we were a nuisance the whole time. I'll probably do carry out from now on. The inside is small and quaint and it looks like it gets busy around dinner, so come early if you want a table.
