Still pretty good Thai food. Not excellent but probably a 3.5 rating. The Pho continues to be good with a nice broth but lacking in the meat department. It is not better than Richmond Pho. I loved this place. Although yelp said it was Vietnamise, it really is Thai. We had the Chicken Pad Thai and the chicken broccoli, they were delicious. Great quality of food and comfortable atmosphere. I feel like this place's names were off. By that, it's as if the same type of noodle dishes I get at other thai places are consistent but they weren't here. Overall, it wasn't terrible food- but it wasn't that great either. The plus side they made their tofu just like they would their chicken, so the flavor was great for orange tofu 'chicken'. A really solid Vietnamese restaurant. Entrees are around $10 each and starters are $4 or $5. I loved the green papaya salad- tart and fresh and delicious. Others in my party raved about the spring rolls and calamari. The tastiest dish at our table was the Thai bacon- a pork belly dish with green beans in a tasty sauce. The pad Thai was a hit, and my ginger tofu was served with gorgeous eggplants, broccoli and mushrooms- yum! My husband loved the lemongrass chicken. I was quite let down with my meal at Lemongrass. I went here for dinner today, and we were seated fast (albeit with a pretty inconvenient location). However, everything just kind of went downhill from there. We might have gotten really unlucky with the peak dinner rush, but the service was so slow. It took a while for the waitress to come and just get us our menus and water. And then it took even more time for us to get our food (and it was only two dishes). The worst part is no one came and apologized for/acknowledged the wait. I don't mind slow service as much when management/servers are appreciative of your patient. The service was just really inattentive. They are severely understaffed; there were only two waitresses working the whole room AND also managing takeout. I ordered vegetarian drunken noodles, and the portions looked more on the skimpier side compared to other Thai places i've gone to. It was also just average, and some of the noodles weren't completely flavored. Overall, I was pretty disappointed by Lemongrass. Lemongrass is my favorite place to go on the corner! It is perfect for UVa students due to its great location and the very reasonable price, not to mention the absolutely delicious food! Also the portion sizes are great; you get enough to eat but are not left with a lot of leftovers that you need worry about bringing home. Also the staff is wonderful, I have yet to have a bad experience with the service, even when I have come with big parties. The only downside is that the restaurant is on the smaller end making it a bit tight inside and sometimes there is a bit of a wait. However, it is totally worth it!!! read more

I absolutely love your spicy lemongrass tofu!!! I do miss your old spice level scale with 10 options instead of 3 though. I would always ask for a 7 or 8 before, and now I order the 3, but I don't think it is quite as spicy. I guess I can just emphasize how much I like spicy food when I order next time! :) Other favorites of my family include your fried rice, pad thai, and noodle soup. Like Thuan T., this was the first restaurant I went to as a UVA student. I've had some good and bad experiences with Lemongrass since, but I keep coming back because it's quick & affordable Thai food. Since my first visit, I think Lemongrass has changed ownership and is now a Thai and Japanese restaurant as opposed to a Thai and Vietnamese restaurant, which I knew it as. On my most recent visit, I had the vegetable pad see ew. I requested no egg, but my request was unfortunately not honored. I was super hungry, so I didn't send it back and tried my best to avoid the egg while eating the dish. I liked how the vegetables melded into the noodles as opposed to acting as an accessory in many other vegetable pad see ews I've had. It was also oily, so I felt a little bloated afterwards. For health reasons, I probably wouldn't get the pad see ew again, but I'd be open to trying something else because like I said, I keep coming back despite my experiences. read more

Lemongrass is by far my favorite restaurant in Charlottesville. The food is delicious, service is great, and the whole staff is so friendly. When UVA is in session, they do get very busy sometimes, but the staff is friendly and quick enough to make up for it. The food is so good- best pad thai I've found anywhere. The food ranges from bland to super spicy based on the diner's preference, and I've found anything under a 2 to be kind of bland and anything over a 5 to be too spicy for me. The prices are a little high (10 dollars a dish), but the portions are big and high prices are to be expected from a local place that uses local vegetables. I'll spend the extra dollar or so to support local growers. Overall, Lemongrass is fantastic. It is always the top choice when my friends and I go out, and they're always great about handling large groups even though the restaurant itself is rather small. I recommend Lemongrass to anyone visiting Charlottesville or anyone in town who hasn't been yet. read more

I love Lemongrass! It has great Asian cuisine and serves as a go-to restaurant for my friends and I when we don't know where to eat. Their pad thai is very good and I've also had their sesame chicken with Jasmine rice which is delicious. For UVa students, Lemongrass is a great option if you're looking for a convenient and cheap restaurant. Their entrees are only $10 and you can choose the spiciness level of the food. Also, it's located on the Corner making it within walking distance of the university. My only complaint, however, would be the size of the restaurant. Its very small and the place fills up pretty quickly if you go during lunch and dinner hours. If you're going with a large group of people (more than 4), I'd recommend calling ahead to reserve a table. Otherwise, you'll be waiting hours for space to become available. The service is great too! I've been to Lemongrass about 3 times and I've yet to have a bad experience with the food or service. read more
