Just had the worst pizza ever from Lena's in Fredonia. This was a takeout order on Friday around 5:30.

They will get your order wrong or FORGET to make it. I used to love this place, yet over the past year, every single time we place an online order ahead of time, they either "forget" an item in the order and make us wait while they make it once we get there and offer no apology or compensation for our time. So this time we placed an online order for 5:30pm, my husband went to pick it up and was told they "forgot" to make a pizza. So they made him wait an additional half an hour while they made it and our wings sat there drying out. There was plenty of staff there who were all just standing around they do absolutely nothing to make things right. This was the last straw. If you want a great pizza and customer service, try Pizza Guru's in Brocton instead. The wings were disgusting and they still started to square cut the pizza before my husband stopped them and asked them to pie cut it as requested on the order form. The owner needs to get their staff under control because they are running this place into the ground. read more

Service: The website for Lena's including the sites in Dunkirk and Fredonia all advertise they are open until 10PM on most days. Same with the paper flyers and the answering message. But, I have called numerous times at or around 8:30 PM with no answer. Very disappointing. And, I have gone over to the site in Dunkirk and found employees standing around. When I requested an order I was told they were closed. All this long before the advertised closing time. read more

When they prepare the pizza they don't use gloves. I asked if they have gloves and they said they do but they don't use them because it "cooks out" but everyone knows the oven only cooks out so much. Very unhygienic for mediocre food. read more

We tried this place on a whim since we were just passing through and we were very happy we did! We ordered the grilled turkey club, cheese pizza, pepperoni pizza and a big side of fries. The staff were all wearing masks and were incredibly courteous and helpful with our questions. Thankfully the Fall weather held up nicely and we ate outside at one of their tables in the grass. The staff brought out all of our food at the same time (all still wearing masks). They asked if we needed anything extra and obliged when we said yes to extra napkins. The food was delicious and served nice and hot. Pizza was typical NY style, though a bit thicker crust. Thought their sauce was very tasty. The sandwich turkey bacon club was prepared and then grilled open face in their oven, so good! Loved that they chopped up the bacon rather than giving me big fatty pieces that are hard to bite through in a sandwich! I highly recommend this place for the staff, quality of food and safety precautions taken during the pandemic. If we ever find our way in Fredonia again we'll definitely stop at Lena's! read more

Tucked away in a tiny town in Dunkirk they give you that small town type of service, very friendly with a warm welcome. They charge you a fee for using a card instead of cash. The pizza was cooked perfectly, but unfortunately the fast was very bland with almost no seasoning in the sauce. The cheese had an odd taste as well, but it didn't taste bad, just not great. Easily the best pizza in Dunkirk/Fredonia area and beyond. Unfortunately I now live on the West coast and I truly miss Lena's pizza. The crust is amazing, the cheese is great. It's just perfect. I have been known to eat an entire medium pizza by myself. Best pizza in town, easily. I edited my review (April 6, 2015) to make sure to select "$" for the price range. There is no reason that this should be set at "$$$." The price of Lena's pizza falls pretty much well within standard pizza place prices, which is to say pretty cheap. read more

Spectacular pizza! But highly recommended as a "carry out" experience. We were in from out of town, and found Lena's based on their Yelp reviews. Pizza description was right on. Just didn't realize that the place has only 4 tables, and half of them were still stacked upside down on the tables, 2 hours after they opened. No air conditioning either... which was rough with the 90+ degrees outside. We got 3 pizzas, side salads and drinks. White pizza was really good. They put me on hold and had put the phone down, then decided to very loudly badmouth me and speak very poorly of our group. We saw the reviews for this place and said we had to try it. It looks like a little hole-in-the-wall but after we ordered it was some of the best pizza we had ever had. Four adults ordered 2 small pizzas and drinks. These small pizzas were bigger than large pizzas here in Texas. Plus, our order came to less that $20. And, we were stuffed. The pizza was hot, steaming and fresh. The sauce was amazing and they were covered with toppings. The crust was tender with just the right amount of bite to it.
