First time here. Definitely the last. Walking in. The place looks like it hasn't seen a remodel after opening day in 1965. The ceiling tiles look like they are ready to fall on your head. The Italian banner running around the seating area appears to have never been washed. Caked with years of dust literally dangling from the edges. They have computer screens in the booth. ‍ They don't really work. The decor is so out dated it's ridiculous. Service, our waitress was very polite and nice. Took our orders. Dinner order was a pepperoni / mushroom calzone, and chicken parmesan with a side of onion rings. Each meal came with salad. Salads up - nothing fancy, your typical ice burg lettuce, with chick peas, giant slice of tomato and mini croutons. Onions up - truthfully very good "best part of the dinner" other than the dipping sauce. 99% sure it was thousand Island dressing mixed with something, definitely not good. Calzone up - OMG where to begin. Seriously, by far the worst calzone I think I have ever had. Undercooked pepperoni, and mushrooms, all thrown together on one side of the calzone. Other side doughy and undercooked, with zero seasoning. Soggy crust. The sauce was horrible. Chicken Parmesan up - pasta noodles, strait out of a box, with zero taste, chicken way over cooked / burnt "could have used it for a hockey puck", the sauce, simply not good. So to rap it up. I would never recommend Dejohn's to anyone. The place is run down and the food is horrible. We doggy bagged it home and fed it to our dogs. So now my last thought, oh-no ! Am I going to get in trouble for animal cruelty, for feeding them horrible food. read more

It's been around so long, the booths were designed in the 1950s. The hostess greets you and hands menus, and the waitresses know most of the people in their section. Our family especially like the pasta: lasagna, spaghetti with meatballs, and ravioli. The daily specials are also very good. Parking is in a free lot behind the restaurant. read more

Food was pretty good, I had cheese ravioli and it tastes homemade with a good sauce, great portions. Garlic bread was a bit overdone and hard to eat. The woman behind the counter was friendly and attentive and provided good service. The interior of the restaurant is a bit dated but cozy, small seating area from what I saw but felt like an old family restaurant which I always love! Would return here, they prefer cash payments as their credit card machine is just an iPad with a square payment attachment. But they do have it--just takes a bit longer. read more

Not a fan of the sauce here - it is not sweet at all and almost tastes similar to jarred sauce you buy at the grocery store. I've tried it a few times always hoping for a different experience but am always left slightly disappointed. Great for families! This is one of our regular stops. Facility is quirky but staff is always kind. Comfort food better than we can make at home. We love the meatball pizza, chicken fingers and fries, and lasagna. Sauce is on the sweet side, but that's how my family likes it. Fancy Italian is down the street, but if you want something that will please the pickiest eaters and you go home with leftovers we will always love DeJohns. read more

CASH ONLY (Just to make sure everyone who is scrolling through sees.) They have an ATM, but the fee is high and is just generally a pain where it is set up and can be touchy. The food is already great, and it seems to improve every time I go! Service is nice and fast. The place reminds me of my grandmother's basement in the 1970's and has that small town feel but it does not feel artificial they are just a family doing what they do. The cannoli are wonderful and very generous in size and the alfredo sauce is some of the best I have had anywhere. Check the hours before you go as they close early some nights. My son is a student at nearby SUNY Fredonia and we visited a few months ago. Our meal was or introduction to dining in the area. We would have had a much better meal at university's cafeteria. My chicken parmigiana was clearly a previously frozen food service product. Sauce was an acidic mess. Oh, and we're not aware they don't take credit cards until the bill came . . . Excellent pasta. The alfredo sauce is as good as any I've ever tasted--very rich and creamy. I had the three cheese tortellini and it was delish! Salad was meh--iceberg lettuce does not excite me. The dressing was good though. Italian bread was yummy. Where the place falls down is the wine. They only offer barely drinkable wine, just above the box stuff from the grocery store. I wish my wine had been as good as the pasta. I dont know if NY allows you to bring a bottle of your own--something I would not usually do--but here it is kind of necessary! 7/19/15- I will keep my review focused on the the food. I won't even get into the dirt and dust of the bar area where I sat. The restaurant says they are opened until 7:00pm on Sunday. While sitting there, our bartender/ waitress turned away four groups of people looking for food and it was not 7:00pm. When we asked, we were told cook and bartender had to work from 11am to 7pm and they wanted to go home. Mr/Mrs owner you better find people that care about your business. Food- I had the special and my wife had the spaghetti and meat balls. Mine was watery pasta and cold food that I believe was cooked in a microwave long enough they thought to be served. Sauce was watery from the pasta. Spaghetti and sauce were watery and meat balls tasteless. The cold bread was cold. The salad of iceberg lettuce and Kraft dressing was the best item of the meal. Food is great but this place is nuts. They do not accept credit cards which creates great problems. They might save a few bucks in fees but they create considerable difficulty for patrons and probably chase many away. Get with the program. read more

If I could give NO stars I would. My husband and I ordered all you can eat spaghetti and a lasagna dinner. Both came with salads and dinner bread. We received one basket of bread - 4 very small slices. A gentleman dining alone near us received the same size basket of bread. We asked for more bread- never thinking there would be a charge! We found this out when the bill came. To make matters worse, my husband asked for more sauce. Again a charge for a little bowl of sauce! When we questioned the server, we were told they always charge for sauce. We pointed out that it was all you can eat and my husband could have gotten another plate of spaghetti free!! The server never asked how the food was, if we wanted coffee or dessert-just brought the check. We will never return. Four days after this posted I did message this restaurant asking if they check reviews in Yelp. I received a very rude response from Lisa calling me a hater. Never apologized but told me how many people love the place! Terrible customer service. read more

Ah....OK sums this place up. Portions are Way too big; Yes, you heard me right, WAY too big. The food is reasonably priced but don't bring a credit card because they won't take it; a bit of an annoyance. The ambiance is traditional italian. They do serve Peroni, definitely a plus. read more

Stopped here when we where out for a shopping trip. Looking for a place to eat. Restaurant, looked inviting. I had the Lobster Ravioli (served with pomadoro sauce) and My husband had the Homemade Lasagna (4 layers of meats & cheeses) . Best Italian food we have had in a long time and Great service! Such a nice owner! A group of us went on a wine tour and many of the people went into EBC. A few of us decided to stop in here instead. The owner was so kind and Truly accommodating. We have been dining at DeJohn's spaghetti house for many years.We love the sauce and the meatballs. There is always an ample amount of spaghetti and the lasagna is also excellent. Perhaps it is because we are regular customers but the service is also excellent. Four stars. read more

Terrible food. First time experience and won't be back. We ordered two "dinners" for pick up - a fish fry, with the smallest piece of fish I've ever seen in a fish fry and 15 French fries (15...we counted) and the 4 piece fried chicken which was missing the most important component - CHICKEN! What a pitiful excuse for food. When I called to complain about our measly meals, I was passed to the owner who wouldn't even listen to what I was trying to explain. She just talked over me defending her food. If you can't take complaints from paying customers, you're really in the wrong business sweetheart! Most unprofessional restaurant owner I've ever come across. Their food sucks, their management sucks, the whole experienced sucked!
