Lending Tree is just a means of sending your loan info to a large number of BROKERS or loan RESELLERS. As soon as you click the last button your phone will start ringing with robo-calls. Extremely annoying. It might be ok if most of the calls were direct lenders where you will get the best rate but that is not the case. Plus they all want to TALK to you "grab a paper and pen", what? its 2016 just email me what you want and most of them didn't even know any detail of what I was looking for. Horrid experience. We had been contemplating refinancing and, since I had 5 minutes to kill before a conference call, I clicked on LendingTree ad and took a quick online survey. BEFORE I EVEN COMPLETED THE SURVEY THE JUNK CALLS BEGAN flooding in from 3rd party lenders. Next came texts. Since they're using local area codes, I have no way to distinguish between legitimate business calls and phone spam until I answer it. BEWARE OF COMPLETING THEIR ONLINE SURVEY! No useful information is provided at the end, just heaps of abuse! read more

DO NOT USE UNLESS YOU WANT YOUR CREDIT SCORES TO GO DOWN!!! I was in the market for a home refinance, just starting my research and wanted to 'see what was out there' so I answered Lending Tree's questions to see what they were offering. I was concerned about giving them all my information but the web site ASSURED me that this inquiry would not affect my credit scores-- by doing a HARD INQUIRY. LIE!!! I got my information about companies and rates and moved on. Within 24 hours I WAS FLOODED WITH CALLS AND EMAILS. VULTURES FLYING AROUND FOR MY BUSINESS. I was polite as long as I could be and finally was nasty with a few and blocked a couple before the calls/emails finally stopped. I'm still getting mail through the postal service but those hit the trash can in the garage before I even get to the house. WORSE THING though is that I got HARD INQUIRIES against my credit scores-- my scores went DOWN because of LENDING TREE because companies I did not give the time of day to did HARD INQUIRES on me. DO NOT use this service or you will be inundated with spam and unsolicited phone calls starting with lenders and ending up with all kinds of sales people selling you everything under the sun. I never gave Lending Tree permission to email me, much less sell my confidential information to everyone. They are awful. read more

The worst decision i ever made was to go onto this website. You will be hounded day and night by lenders calling your phone and sending you emails. Wish I had looked at yelp reviews first. You can't get unsubscribe or get away from these people. read more

I received a loan from Lending Tree and it was on automatic debit from my account about a year later I switched banks and processed the account switch on the lending tree website, They said for a technical reason on there side the new bank account was not picked up and did not receive the monthly payment. I found out about this when I ran my credit report and found negative activity and once I found out I contacted them immediately and they admitted it was a technical problem on their end. They refused to remove the negative report on the credit report which is reported by credit bureau agencies. We complained to them to them several times and hired an attorney to sue them. They where uncooperative even I threatened to sue them and uncopperative to my attorney, and reported to FTC and consumer affairs. DO NOT DO BUSINESS WITH THEM!!!! They are rude, unprofessional and do no take responsability for their actions!!! read more

This company is terrible - uses bait and switch. Advertised a mortgage calculator and I was interested in seeing how much my mortgage payment would be if I refinanced and/or took extra cash from part of my equity. Just contemplating possibilities since my husband passed away a few months ago and I need to cut some corners somewhere. Instead of a simple mortgage calculator, it took my information and gave or sold it to no less than 8 other companies who thus far have called me 18 times. 3 calls from one company came in less than 30 minutes, under 10 minutes apart and 4 of them tried reaching me all at the same time. I don't have the luxury of not answering - since my husband's death, I have business to tend to and expect calls from insurance, pension, investment company, credit card companies, etc. This is causing me great emotional strife on top of the grief I am already dealing with. It has also caused me to suffer financially, as my credit union showed me where these companies did "hard hits" to my credit, making unauthorized inquiries. Each inquiry lowered my score at a time when I am trying to make sound financial decisions and planning for a future alone. Requesting all of this to stop has done no good whatsoever. Run away from these people as fast as you can - I would give my eye teeth to have never clicked on their so-called mortgage calculator! I have made written reports to various agencies, but all of that takes time and meanwhile I am still deluged with the phone calls. Gave one star only because I had to give something - I would have preferred to give it negative 10! read more
