OK, Lending Tree can be annoying. In my prior review, I was annoyed because I sent in a request for a HELOC and received nothing but original home loan info. I received endless emails and phone calls and nothing related to a HELOC. What a complete waste of time. The whole "get results online" is a bunch of bunk. Decided to refinance and I begrudgingly decided to use Lending Tree. Still received a super annoying onslaught of calls and emails. Everyone wanted the same info I sent previously to Lending Tree. But at the same time, I went into my bank (servicer of home loan and HELOC) asking about a refi), and they gave me a card of someone to contact. It took them over two weeks to email me back and say I should call them. Yikes. Lending Tree companies were calling me and giving me better rates. In fact, my top two options were from Lending Tree. Still waiting to close but I appreciate getting plenty of options even though I was contacted pretty significantly. They aren't what they advertise as (get rates from multiple companies after a few hours on the phone... not online), but the are far better than other options. read more

Avoid at all costs. And don't give them any contact info as they will keep calling and marketing to you including your cell. I told them to remove my cell from their list and just kept ignoring even when I said I would report them. They said go ahead and report us. I have paid a loan with Lending Tree over 3 years ago and I have been asking them to take the balance of $9040 off my credit report for 2 years now! They keep saying a manager (who is never available) will call me back at least 3 times and not one call. Do NOT go through them. They have nice customer service people who have no authority to do ANYTHING! All I ask is to take off the charge on my credit report that has been paid off TWO YEARS now. Do not even attempt to request a price quote without companies running your credit. Although it says in big green letters "this will not affect your credit score". When contacted they told me well "you should have read the fine print" (Darryl from lending tree) Not to mention the 30plus phone calls I received from all the different lenders trying to get a sale. I can't believe this company hasn't been shut down by class action lawsuits by now. Just curious to see what it would tell me on a mortgage, clicked through the LendingTree website and signed up during break time at work. With in 15 seconds of my last click I get my first phone call from a lender. With in 24 hours they had my Verizon voicemail completely full. I'm blocking numbers left and right since I'm at work and can't deal with all the calls. I filled out a help desk request with them to remove me from their list. Since receiving their email saying they will put me on a block list, I've gotten 19 more calls, 5 more voice mails, and an email. They are constantly texting me to. This is abusive harassment. Wish I had read these reviews before using LendingTree. All in all it was a horrible experience with the third party RefiJet. I needed a lease buyout. RefiJet got approval from Blue FCU quickly. Then it fell apart. Because this was a Lease buyout Refijet was unwilling to complete the transaction. So I tried to go direct with Blue FCU since they approved the loan. Unfortunately due to their contractual agreements with third parties BlueFCU was unable to come between me and RefiJet. When I asked RefiJet to assist in releasing BlueFCU to complete the loan they would not communicate with the loan officer via email. Lesson learned do not use LendingTree and/or RefiJet to facilitate your loan go direct with a lender. read more

Rates Higher Than Advertised and Dozens of Unwanted Calls Being in the market for a refinance, I saw an online banner ad and responded to it because the rate listed was competitive. Then the phone calls started from companies vying for my business. None of the offers were at a rate close to the advertised rate, and I have excellent credit. Dozens and dozens of calls. I blocked many of them, but it was like Whack-A-Mole. 10-11 months later, I'm not sure it has stopped, as I'm still getting hangups. read more

Ugh. Do not complete any on-line questionnaires with this company. They don't provide you with a quote for anything. What they do is forward your information to many lenders who then call you relentlessly. Within minutes of submitting a request for a quote, your phone will be ringing non-stop for days. I had several calls from different people FROM THE SAME COMPANY each day (Quicken). The calls came in for weeks. I answered some and told them to stop calling. After some time the number of calls went way down. Then, we made the mistake of just looking at line of credit info, and their algorithm tracked our inquiry and within minutes we were getting phone calls again. Several per minute. Kyle from autopay then called me and I gave him some minor info to get a better idea of my options on his end. I did by no means tell them to move forward with my loan and pull a hard inquiry. After 3 days he didnt hear back from me so he took it upon himself to move forward, and then after the fact text me to let me know they moved forward. If you want a Home Equity loan don't fill out a thing. All alleged parties for home equity were in bate and switch trying to sign up for refinance. When I called Lending Tree they said we provide lenders with similar products. In their definition that means any loan on your real property so it makes no difference if they waste your time with something you don't want. First they provide a fake credit report (mine was 100 points above the real number), then you receive quotes (non-stop email, text, and phone calls for 2 weeks) that are not in alignment with your credit score so none of them are valid. This business wasted my time. In my case, I was looking for the best rate on a HELOC for home improvement. The Lending Tree people took my info, said there would be no problem considering the data I gave them, then the first company they referred me to said none of the companies referred by Lending Tree give HELOCs to people whose houses are paid off! My bank of 30 years told me just the opposite, that the HELOC lender naturally prefers being first in line to be paid. read more

Protected by a page and half of disclaimers, when you work your way through LT's system looking for basic re-fi numbers, you end up sending your information to a network of 100's of 'subsidiaries' that ALL PUT HARD INQUIRIES ON YOUR CREDIT. It is classic bait and switch. As well, within SECONDS of clicking submit (with the expectation of receiving a list of common interest rates) you will receive an avalanche of phone calls, texts, and emails that only stop when you call LendingTree and ask them to remove your information. But that does NOT stop the subsidiary inquiries from touching your credit. EVEN IF you don't directly approve them running your credit. Please stay away. For your credit score and your sanity. I made the mistake of looking around on their web page. I immediately got a million spam calls, texts, and emails. Also they ran my credit, so now I have a hard inquiry on my credit report. Such a scam. I read multiple reviews starting with the worst, hoping that those reviews would not outweigh the good. Unfortunately they did. My advice to any consumer looking to calculate some better mortgage rates is to go to an actual credit union or lender. They don't need to run your credit to give you a ballpark figure. Where's the ZERO STAR option? Just want everyone to know that we began the process with Lending Tree online only 30 minutes ago. Two agents called within minutes and then HUNG UP on us because we didn't provide our SSN both online on their massive mill of a website and then to the agents on the phone in a cacophonous call center as STEP 1. When was the last time you threw out your SSN like that? When was the last time you were HUNG UP on by anyone representing a supposedly reputable company? Obviously, this process that ultimately involves hundreds of thousands of dollars should be collaborative, thoughtful and confidential with TRUST as STEP 1. I was so deceived by website with this company. It was implied that I could view auto refinance rates if I gave some info up front. It mentions "you may get calls from lenders" but still implied you would get to see info online in privacy of your home. WHAT A FREAKING NIGHTMARE AND DECEPTION THIS IS! I I could give this a no star I would. PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE STAY AWAY FROM LENDING Tree. I kid you not I wake up to almost 15 new pre approved loans from various companies and never get the loan. One of the worst so called lender is a company called UBI cash. If you read their long statement ( which I did) the fist couple of lines says the loan would come from an Indian tribe some where in Wisconsin. And then it gave me food for thought. I applied door 5000( long shot) but only got 500 then then only 400. It seemed kind of shady to me so I just canceled my approved loan. I cold have used my credit card for that amount. Beware of loan me too. Got my break down of my loan. I pay 332.59 on 4000 loan. And for the 6 payments none goes to principle. Trust to say these loans will be paid off by Christmas. I truly hope this helps someone. Read the long agreement before signing anything. Ask customer service if u don't understand something. They count on you not reading the long agreement read more
