From the initial planning phases to the final inspection, the entire team was professional, transparent, and incredibly skilled. Maximizing a smaller footprint (around 320+ sq. ft.) requires smart design, and they nailed it. The craftsmanship is excellent, though the project was delayed (primarily because of additional nuanced city requirements), their communication throughout the construction process kept us at ease. Though not everything went smoothly, they appropriately addressed and rectified any issues that popped up during the construction process. If you are looking to build an ADU in the OC area, save yourself the headache and go with this team. We gladly recommend OC Builders to family and friends. We were incredibly satisfied throughout the build process and of course the results are beautiful, and will definitely go with this team again should another project come up. They deliver high-quality work and true professionalism!

Being in the engineering field, I'm admittedly not the easiest client--I pay a lot of attention to the technical details and have very high standards, but OC Builders Group has been incredibly accommodating and professional throughout. The conceptual design phase with Moe was great. He helped us navigate a functional design that included adding to the front of the house, extending the back to significantly increase our kitchen space, and adding a bathroom to one of the rooms to create a master bath. On the execution side, my project manager, Mike, has been fantastic to work with, and Casandra has been a huge help with scheduling and staying responsive to all my questions. It's rare to find a team that is this easy to work with when you're as detail-oriented as I am. I'm really looking forward to seeing the final 10% come together! Thank you OC builders!

If I could give them a 0 star review I could. I live in a new community in Banning, Ca. My wife and…read moreI were approached by a gentleman named Ron representing the company. He walked us through the process and everything involved to have my backyard done. The quote came out to roughly $23,000 for basic pavers and turf. While it seemed pricey they assured us everything that has to be filed to the HOA would be handled by them. My HOA required all new construction homes to have their backyards completed within a year of purchase and they assured me that they would handle the procedural processes to have all work approved and filed with the HOA. This took place in November of 2024, now in February of 2026 I am being held to a violation for no notice of completion by my HOA and must attend a hearing for not giving notice of completion. They are not even aware of the work that was done. Ron's partner (I think the name is Tyler) was the one that I provided all the necessary documents to. They alleged that they had a partnership as a preferred contractor with my HOA and everything would be done smoothly. Clearly this was at least incompetence or at worst dishonest business practices taking advantage of young new homeowners who had just started a family. They also assured me that the first three months of payments would be covered and that I would receive a check for it and I never did, when asked by me following up I was ghosted. Additionally the work was not up to the "high standards" they stated. When I was called by the office to give my approval upon completion I pointed out several items that caught my attention and was told by them that I have to say yes because it is easier for them to fix any issues through the warranty process, they were upset about my call as well and prompted an in person visit by them. We are both two full time professionals with a two year old so the issues fell on the back burner because we were just happy to have a landscaped backyard for our son to play in and celebrate his 1st birthday the next month rather than dirt. The main reason we chose this company was because they assured us they would remove the barriers of the HOA by handling it themselves, we feel cheated and lied to and has left us in a terrible position. If we had known that they were not preferred partners with our HOA we would have never done any work with them. Which why I am sure they brought it up in the first place. 10/10 would never work with this company again if I won't have to and would never recommend it to anyone else as they are clearly not fans of honest business practices.

proceed with caution! Man where to start. I don't enjoy…read moredragging somebody's business, but I also don't enjoy spending a large chunk of our hard saved money on garbage work and hopefully I can save somebody else from making the same mistake. I guess I will start by being open and up front and saying I put off doing this negative review for two years... we had such a terrible experience during installation of our LVP floors and the workmanship proved to not be great in the following year or two but my final straw that made me decide to finally write this review comes from being recently enlightened to yet ANOTHER issue with the quality of work. A couple of months ago we suffered severe water damage in our home and as a result, all of the LVP that Redstar installed in 2023 had to be ripped up and we found out they never even put a barrier under our flooring between it and the concrete. These guys cut SO many corners the entire job and this just has me livid again. SOME of the issues we had with Redstar- - What was supposed to be a 2wk job turned into 4wks - One of his workers stole a bottle of whiskey out of our cabinet. Had we noticed while the job was going on, we would have absolutely brought it up to Stan, however, we didn't notice it until we were moving furniture back into our house and at that point we were so sick of dealing with Redstar that we chose to let it go instead, however, there was absolutely nobody else in our house during this time (the house wasn't in living condition, so how could there have been?) so there's no way it was anybody else that took it. - Without our consent they modified our entry way steps almost permanently but we caught them. It was a rounded step down from the entry to our living room, Stan told us they could make the rounded edge work even with the LVP. We double checked with him because previous contractors told us no because it was round and the LVP is obviously not pliable but Stan said it was doable so we tr... well apparently his solution was to take the rounded edge and just make it a giant square! Which cut into our already small living room and looked horrendous! Thank God my husband works from home and came out of his office when he did, imagine his surprise that not only had they already framed the square out, but they were filling it with concrete without anybody even asking us if that was OK! It wasn't, they had to find another solution. - The house, was left FILTHY every day. Our kitchen was basically unusable the entire time. They made ZERO attempt to clean at all and make our home even remotely comfortable for us. I had to clean the kitchen daily to even be able to use a single countertop to make food. - Stan and his crew were supposed to level out some of the uneven flooring before installing the LVP and still, after already being installed, they had to rip up the floors, several places and level our area. They should have already done, but didn't because the floor would sink down or bend when you stepped on it. - Stan the owner was never on site unless we had an issue he had to come deal with. Idk where he got his workers but they were subpar, did subpar work. The only decent one who seemed to care at all was his supervisor Eric, who unfortunately also was rarely there until we were so fed up we demanded someone else finish the work. Very shortly after the work has been done , of talking within six months to a year max, there were already multiple planks that had cracked and we started noticing that the putty or whatever it is, they use in the joint of the flooring, was starting to fall out in multiple places. The only thing we clean our floors with warm water and vinegar so it's not like we were using harsh chemicals. I utilize Yelp a LOT for trusted recommendations on everything from food to construction services and everything in between and I felt guilty about not writing a negative review immediately after our experience with Stan and Redstar but to be completely honest, it was such a stressful experience (every day was something new, I dr dreaded coming home from work) on top of the fact that I was just done dealing with them on top of the fact that I didn't want to say anything negative that could possibly get in the way of our "1yr warranted on the work" if we need them to come back for anything so I just kept my mouth shut but honestly, I feel like this review needs to be put out there if it can save anyone from a fraction of the annoyance and headache we experienced with them! Finding out that the LVP was installed with zero barrier was my final straw. We paid over $13k for a shit job. I'll end it with this , our experience was so bad that we paid over $13,000 for the flooring, and when issues started to arise within the first year, we STILL didn't even want to bother contacting them to come fix the problems because we had SUCH a bad experience. We would rather eat it and deal with it than call them again.

I had Chris out for a quote and he was able to facetime and walk through the job site remotely and give an initial bid. I also had him check around the house for any other damage as well as some deck re-enforcements. Chris uncovered quite a bit of dry rot on the backside of the property and it was clear it needed to be addressed asap. Within a week his team had ripped out all the old decking/ledger board/trim and replaced everything up to code. It went so smooth, I also asked him to re-adjust our heavy custom wood doors that have gone out of whack over the years and needed all new weatherstripping. I also had him replace the front light fixtures and build custom replicas of the existing wood mounts. The wall was rebuilt perfectly and looks better than before. I wish I would have done the other side. Overall I was extremely happy with Chris and team, his communication level is A+. He documented everything with photos, texts and calls along the way. The team was on site until completion and everything was wrapped up in a few weeks. My doors are like new again, wall looks great and all the dry rot has been addressed. I'll definitely be using California Builders again.

Bought the residence four plan (5 bed, 3 bath, 3.4k sq ft) and it'll be finished in April 2019 as it's new construction. My current house, which I purchased within the Lennar Celebration Park community in 2017 (on Baseline and Sierra), is where I presently live. Next year, I will be renting that place out when my new Shady Trails home is ready, and keeping on to the Celebration Park one as an investment property. Fontana is growing at a rapid pace, and plenty of new development going on always! My decisions to move to Shady Trails community were due to several reasons, namely 1) gated community 2) much more nicer & upscale area/surroundings and 3) HOA and amenities! Plus, now I'll have a much bigger home :) Side note: A lot of people, from what I've seen, tend to get attracted to "no HOA" or feel like they are paying money for nothing, etc - but I can tell you from experience, its just not worth it. I have first hand experience. Buying @ Celebration Park (no HOA community) has turned out to not be worth it at all! I'd rather pay for HOA in exchange for knowing my neighbors are forced to take care of their landscaping, cannot park trailers on the street, cannot park excess cars on street, etc. Overall neighborhood look makes an impact on your attitude! Take care of your environment. That said, Lennar as a builder has always been a very quality and good builder. I've previous bought my first house back in 2015 in Upland with a builder called Frontier Communities, and Lennar is 10 times better with their quality, what they include, and their after-sale support. My first experience with Lennar at Celebration Park was a good one, so I did not hesitate to buy again at Laurel Oaks (shady trails). Pete was an awesome and good guy to work with, he's the main guy dealer with the sales and paperwork at this community. He's been with Lennar for over 10 years (yes, even before the economy crash) - so he's very seasoned and definitely knows what he's doing. He's always been quick to answer any questions I had. Lennar has an in-house lender called Eagle Home Mortgage. If you buy from here and use their lender, you get $7000 incentive towards closing costs. I'd advice shop and compare, and see what makes most sense for your situation. Their rates aren't bad though! So without further ado, here's some pictures of my new home @ Lennar Shady Trails! (Model home pictures, and the dirt is my future home site, which will be ready in April 2019)
