I gut renovated my apartment in 2015. We installed top of the line appliances in the kitchen, including a Viking range. (They look good...) Fast forward to 2019, the oven stopped working..... Unfortunately, the warranty is only good for 1-2, depending on the time of purchase. (I think this is nuts, cars and other appliances have between 4-12 year warranties....) I called the authorized Viking repair companies in the NYC area. Some were rude, some were slow to respond and some were very vague as to a general estimate. If the repair is going to be over $2K, I would consider purchasing a new range rather than repairing the existing one. One repair shop sent a technician who was extremely rude and pretty much ordered me out of my own kitchen because he was on the phone with Viking. He said that I had a defective fan. I also spoke to a Viking parts supplier to see how much the parts might cost. Well, I finally spoke to Elliot at Len's. I informed him of my issues and what I thought required replacement or to be checked. He had one part in stock (cooling fan) and the other (door latch) need to be ordered (it was back ordered at Viking....). I ordered the door latch online and Elliot's technician brought the other part (cooling fan). His technician was polite, showed up on time (between 2-3pm) and spent about 75 minutes, sliding my heavy range from the wall, opening up the oven, replacing the two aforementioned parts and he also tested the oven to ensure that it would work properly. He also pointed out that the "OVEN" light was not working properly and the bulb required replacement. He did not have any bulbs on his person, he could not replace it at this time. He didn't know that he would need one. The visit went fairly well. The cost of repair was not cheap (it is a Viking range.....) but it was reasonable. I waited a month to post the review because I wanted to ensure that the oven was still working. It is still working. Hopefully, you will not require your appliances to be repaired but if you do, give Len's a try. read more

so surprised to read some of the reviews. I have used Lens for the past 20 years - microwave, washer, dryer, refrigerator- am waiting for them to come today. I have had nothing but good repair work from them. they even suggested that I pull the plug out of the washer for 5 minutes and then see if washer starts and may not need repair - they could have come and done that themselves and charged for a house call. Having spoken to National Grid about extremely week gas flow on my stove top, they told me the problem was probably the appliance. I called Len's appliance to come out and take a look. They were extremely helpful and worked to get someone out to me the same day, as I have a newborn and heating up his formula bottle on a reduced gas flow was proving extremely difficult. Raja called me to schedule a time and after I described the issue to him, he said it sounded much more like a problem with the meter than with the appliance. He very graciously stated he didn't want to come over and charge the call out fee when it sounded very much like an issue with the gas company. He advised I call National Grid again and have them look more in-depth into the issue. Sure enough, on my second call to National Grid they sent someone out and realized it was indeed an issue with the meter and replaced it. I can't thank Raja and the team at Len's enough for a) expediting my issue to help out with my newborn and b) their honesty/professionalism in suggesting I check again with National Grid before charging their call out fee. Although I ended up not needing their services on this occasion, when eventually I do have an issue with an appliance at home, I will most certainly be calling them first! read more

I've used Lens since first moving in - installing a washer, installing a dryer, replacing a dishwasher, fixing 2 stoves, new refrigerator, everything. They always show up when they say they will. There must be 2 places that we are writing reviews about. The ice maker on my Liebherr started dumping water into the tray. Upon a friend's recommendation, I called Len's. They scheduled it for a few days later. They took care of the COI for my building. I received a text around 8:30 the day of the appointment with a 2 hour appointment window. Tony came about half an hour into the window. He was awesome! He showed me exactly what the problem was, walked me through the steps to repair the ice maker, then tested and retested to make sure that everything was working as it should. read more

This is honestly one of the worst companies I have ever worked with. Do yourselves a huge favor and stay away from this company if you care about service at all. They never show up on time, do a poor job fixing things and worst of all, they took a piece from one of our appliances and never notified us. The only way we found out is that we called another company to come check the appliance, and they said the piece was missing. read more

I wish I could rate the service for Len's but they never even called me back after contacting them 4 times 1) Left an urgent message over the weekend when my frig broke, no response 2) Called on the weekday and was put on hold for 20 minutes, had to hang up 3) Called and was put on hold for another 20 minutes, had to hang up 4) Called and was told she would call me back after she dealt with a customer...never called me back. They were one of the worse companies I ever had to deal with. A repairman came and told me he fixed it. I asked him how he would test it. He didn't, he left and it was not only NOT FIXED, i didn't even have a diagnosis. I unfortunately read the reviews after I hired Len's Appliances. I was at first in shock over the cost to repair my not very old Liebherr refrigerator but when doing some comparison of estimates, I realized that their prices are quite fair. I've used Lens Applinaces twice. The first time when I purchased a new heating/cooling unit. Then again 2 years later when the AC broke (compressor). They charge $75 for a house call to see what is wrong and then that gets applied to the cost of your repair(s). My unit needed a part that they were not able to get their hands on but instead of sharing this information with me, the owner, kept telling me that the part was coming. Weeks were passing in the middle of a heat wave...and no part. I considered going elsewhere but they already had my $75 and kept telling me that the part was coming. After 7 weeks of waiting, the part finally came. The man who does the installations and repairs is nice and , helpful but the owner is old and grumpy and lied to me on several occasions regarding the ETA on my part. The woman who answers the phone to make the appointments answers the phone by saying "good morning, I mean good afternoon" every time she answers the phone. Once she hung up on me when we were rescheduling an appointment (since the part never came) and when I called back to tell her that she hung up on me she said "I SAID SORRY. What more do you want from me?" read more

I've used Len's a number of times on a range that had temperature issues, an ice maker that didn't work, and an older dryer that needed some love. Every visit I had Roger and I highly recommend specifically requesting him -- he's extremely thorough and knowledgable and solved the problem every time. This was no mean feat with the ice maker as it took multiple visits and experiments to track down the problem (deep inside the guts of the fridge, a wire running from the ice maker to the controls at the top of the fridge had been sliced through in manufacturing.) Only four stars instead of five because they only guarantee a day when you request service, not a part of the day. read more

Have been meaning to write a review for a few months now. Have used their services for repairs of our Viking fridge, microwave and Asko washer. The service guy each time was professional, patient and tidy. For the most part, he showed up in a timely fashion. Occasionally, I'd have the central office have to cancel and reschedule a visit which is mildly annoying. However, the service they provide in general is terrific. I was particularly impressed when they called to correct the cost of a replacement part (thereby dropping the service charges by about a $100). I was REALLY impressed when he had to come back twice within 4 weeks to fix our faulty Viking freezer (likely not his fault but Vikings') and didn't charge me for the second visit. Would HIGHLY recommend them overall. read more

Just do your self a favor and find someone else. Trust me. You can throw customer service completely out the window. And it will take weeks before they actually come back to fix anything despite charging you that initial service fee to look at your appliance. The freezer on my Leibherr was building up ice and not functioning. Since there are few who are authorized to repair these fridges, it took a week to get someone in. But the wait was worth it. The people who cme out were prompt, They explained everything. Roger diagnosed and repaired an older GE dishwasher that just wasn't doing its job. It needed a new pump and motor. After considering replacing with a new one, Roger walked me through the pros & cons of replacing vs repair and it was so helpful. We are planning a kitchen reno in the medium term future, so it really didn't make sense to buy new at this point. The repair cost was quite reasonable and the dishwasher is working great again. This guy is really good. He was punctual, clean, friendly and very knowledgeable. If you are a Brooklyn homeowner, you'll want to keep Roger's business card. read more

I only used Len's Appliance Service because my Super had recommended them to fix my oven. I would have never used them given all of the reviews I had seen online as the majority of them are extremely negative. I spoke with Janet and she was friendly but scattered the two times I talked to her. I scheduled an appointment for a Thursday and they said they would call the day of to tell me the time frame. Fine, no problem. The day of they scheduled for 5-6 PM but then called to reschedule because they were running behind. We rescheduled for 2 PM on Monday. They called Monday morning to say they couldn't make it. At this point I called the office and told them this was unacceptable. They agreed and said they'd work on it but never called me back. What professional company does this!? In addition, they wanted to charge $125 for a house call, which seems very expensive. read more

I had an ordeal with my refridgerator which led to having Len's Appliance come out 5+ times. In the end the problem was unfixable, but they diligently came back out, multiple times at no cost to me, to try to fix the appliance. When it was determined that the malfunctioning component was part and parcel of the appliance, they helped me with my discussions and negotiations with the warranty department to get my new appliance. I found the technicians highly professional. Also, I found the management professional in that they were losing money on my case by continuing to send out technicians free of charge while getting to the ultimate root cause diagnosis. read more

I would not recommend this company and I'll tell you why: - They lack followthrough - no one would call the manufacturer to confirm when our part would be delivered. - They lack organization- they didn't have record of when parts were ordered, how they were shipped nor any tracking information and when part would arrive. - They lie- we were told that manufacturer wasn't open until after 10am, I called at them at 9:06am and they'd been open for an hour already. I had to call the manufacturer and order the part myself. It took one phone call to get the part delivered in 24 hours (we've been waiting nearly 3 weeks for Len's to get the part). The manufacturer had 69 of the same parts in stock, so the delay was not for lack of inventory on the part of the manufacturer. - They lack accountability- if the person who does the ordering isn't in the office, there is no one else who can track orders. read more

I have a Viking stove and a service contract with a third party company that was originally GE Service and now Service Protection Plus. This company contracted with two appliance repair companies that did not know what they were doing, Supreme and NIPTH Repair LTM. Finally after weeks of complaining they assigned the repair to Len's Appliance repair. The repair people were very professional and diagnosed the problem. They ordered the parts and repaired the stove. These guys have a lot of experience fixing Viking appliances. Everyone else seems to be clueless. read more

I've had occasion to use Len's a total of 9 times over the years and, save twice, my experience with them has been fairly good. Bullet Points Good: -Never been late -Courteous -Clean and quiet -Only once did not have part but had it within a week -Work well with Viking for warranty repairs... Bullet Point Bad: -One tech insisted that my being repaired under warranty oven was out of warranty and then charged me $250.00 ($85 plus the part) but I called Len's the following Monday and complained they said that there had been miscommunication and that my check would be returned...it was... - Last year a tech came to do a warranty/recall repair on my dishwasher, obviously broke the start button himself and tried to hit me up for that repair which I told him I was not going to pay for...the problem was, he also fried the control panel when he damaged the button...I went back and forth with him for a bit...finally I told him to leave and and that I was going to call Viking...Viking was very helpful and said that they would include the damage as being.a result of the recall issue and that a new Start Button and Control Panel was coming...unfortunately, despite my request, Len's sent he same tech...he was quick, clean and courteous and, much to my surprise, offered an apology for his previous behavior. read more

Although the service man they sent was good and they diagnosed the problem the charges for parts was criminal.. They marked up the parts 400 percent. Completely unacceptable.. When I called to complain they offered me 30 dollars . Their charge for a the bake ignitors $125 per..through Amazon the part was 35 dollars. . For the bake burners the part was 40 dollars they charged $90. I can live with 2x but 4x is not fair.... The lesson is always check the price on the spot before you allow them to continue. I made the mistake of checking after I paid.. I would have had more leverage. read more

If I could give them no stars I would... made an appointment for them to repair my dishwasher, but they didn't show up. When I called to find out where they were the man who answered the phone said they didn't make any appointments that day. A week later I start getting calls from them asking when they could come. I told the first person who called about the missed appointment and that I called another company to fix the problem. I then got a second call from then again asking when they could come to do the repair... clearly something is wrong in their ability to communicate with customers and within their own office. read more

I have been in Manhattan remodel hell. So very few of the people we have worked with actually care about our ultimate satisfaction. I am almost happy my brand new Viking refrigerator is not working because they had me make an appointment with Len's to service it. While on the phone, I asked a question about my Viking range. A few photos and texts later, my questions were answered. I have not had anywhere near as pleasant an experience with any of the many service providers I have come in contact with. I've used them twice. The actual repairmen are polite and knowledgable. The office is disorganized and questionable. Failure to return phone calls, disrespectful of customers' time, unnecessary delays in ordering parts. You can get lucky and get something repaired quickly (part in stock, stars in alignment), or you can fall into a black hole, with little responsiveness or accountability from them. After this second repair (waiting now about 30 days to get a dishwasher part), I'll avoid them going forward, and recommend you do the same. Good luck with your repair. read more

It is hard to believe how poorly managed this company has become. It all comes down to the owner as the office staff have no power in gettings things done. The repairmen are for the most part knowledgeable but only follow orders. They have not kept any promise to show up in a month after daily phone calls.
