They serve their beverages in a mug and on a plate, which for me is always an upgrade from a paper cup. It was made perfectly with whole milk, a little lavender, and a little vanilla, with a great aroma and a nice bit of frothy foam. I would normally get one of their scones, but I was saving myself for lunch. Next time! Service: I got a friendly greeting and had some nice chatting with the person taking my order. Atmosphere: This location is a bit smaller than some of their other ones. It is set up with seating in several different areas. It was quiet, and people were having casual conversations. The barista was super helpful and made sure we got the right milk preference, which for me is whole milk. Both drinks were especially good. My mocha had a nice balance of coffee and chocolate, with a rich, creamy texture. If I could make one small change, it would be to serve it a little hotter. It measured just over 120°F, and for me, a mocha is at its best at around 135°F. I'll be sure to ask for that next time. This time I paired my mocha with the Caramel Pecan Twist and had it warmed up. That turned out to be an excellent choice and the perfect companion to the mocha. Service: The barista was friendly, attentive, and took the time to make sure our drinks were prepared just the way we wanted them. Atmosphere: We sat inside and enjoyed all of the mid-century modern décor while watching the morning crowd come and go. By the time we left, the place was completely full. Another excellent visit. We'll definitely be back!

After I got it and looked inside, I was seriously disappointed. It was pretty much a cup of hot milk with a tea bag floating at the top. It was hot and had reasonably good flavor (the bag was still steeping), but there wasn't much latte texture at all. I didn't even finish it. They have a nice selection of different bakery items, cakes, and cookies. I saw many people enjoying these, but I didn't get anything myself. Service: The folks taking the order were nice. They seemed to know lots of regulars who came in for beverages and food. Atmosphere: The place is super cute. It has an old-time feel to it, with a tin ceiling, wood floors, period lighting, and a cast-iron radiator. The roaster sits in the middle of the place, with a counter all around it for enjoying your drink. Other seating options are along the outside walls and near the front windows. Everyone appears to love it at Hollander Chocolate, including one of my older friends. But I can't say I feel the same. When I finally got a chance to eat there, I ordered a chocolate croissant and an iced white-chocolate matcha latte. While I waited upstairs, I was impressed by the fancy and professional decor of the cafe. There was even a secret entrance I watched someone walk through. The wait wasn't too long, and when I received my croissant, the pastry was good to average: just what someone would expect from an innocent chocolate croissant. However, my drink was certainly a different story. It took me the entire afternoon to fully complete my experience of the latte. I admit that I am somewhat of a slow drinker, but this wasn't a speed preference. While I appreciated the modern and curved shape of the plastic, the liquid inside was almost sickeningly sweet. I tasted virtually no coffee, and the fluid was entirely green. I'm not exactly complaining about the color, but I am pointing out how thick it was with flavoring. Despite my latte's green color, I tasted heavily more white chocolate than matcha. The drink's taste resembled liquified sugar. By the time I at last finished it, my body felt numb and tired from the overwhelming amount of sweetness. I also lost my appetite for dinner.
