Forget this place! Working out of town, and still didn't care to try and help. Asked to get prescription in older set of glasses, I was given a BS answer that they can't put prescription in because the side shields of the safety glasses were in the way. They still manufacture these kind of safety glasses, you're telling me your machines can't do it's job because of side shields?! I've had these done before, and didn't have a problem with a lab tech finding it to hard to do. Just your typical lazy half A.. "Lab Tech". One girl was nice enough to try and help, but first condescending woman was terrible. read more

Can't say I had the best luck here. One hour lab advertising is a hoax. It took 9 days to get my glasses. When I went to pick them up the prescription was entered in wrong so my lenses were incorrect. I have to wait another 9 days for the correction. The whole reason I chose LensCrafters was because of their quick processing. read more

The employees there are very welcoming and courteous. My husband has a pair of Ray Bans that the lens had loosened. We hadn't even bought the pair there and they had tightened it up with no problem. He will need to buy a new set soon and we will make sure we come back and give them our business. read more

The staff is awesome! I've been there one too many times and even after 2 years they still know my name. Which is something I never really expected from a non private facility. I go every year to renew my contact RX. I do notice the drs do change, but I haven't had a bad experience with any. They are very helpful with assisting with any concerns, refitting, lens change, e.t.c. I have put them through the ringer with my complicated eyes and not once did I feel like a burden on anyone. I was directed to come here to get a last minute eye exam by the staff at the Walmart Eye Center. They told me to come by at around 5:20 but I arrived a bit early just in case. After finishing my paperwork I was brought back almost immediately being the only customer in the store. The staff seemed very nice and friendly and Nick was the staff member that completed my eye exam for me. He was very professional and polite. He explained everything that would be happening within the exam. The two stars I am giving are SOLELY because of the nice and friendly staff. That excludes the Doctor, who was extremely cold and borderline rude. I was a little confused about some of her questions, which annoyed her. She also asked me the brand of contacts I had previously worn. When I told her, it seemed as though she didn't believe me because she looked at me blankly and asked me again. I simply repeated myself and she stated that she had never heard of them. She fitted me for new contacts, which I loved. They were a new type of contact that Acuvue had just come out with. She then told me that she would wait a week and then finalize my prescription. I explained to her that I was on a deadline and couldn't wait a week because that day was the last day I would have insurance. She seemed displeased by this as well and implied that any problems I may have with the contacts would be on me. I told her I was fine with that. The exam and fitting cost be around $130 out of pocket because they did not take my insurance. To be honest, I would have much rather gone somewhere else. As much as I paid for the services here, I would have at least liked to have a pleasant doctor who didn't make me feel as though I were an inconvenience. read more

After ordering two pairs of glasses and $950 later, I was not notified when they arrived. Unable to see clearly, I was told to wear them for several weeks. I returned to the store and they said the prescription was wrong. I went back to my eye doctor for a recheck. The recheck rx was the same. Went back to LC and they said I was several days past the 30 day guarantee but they allowed me to return one pair. I had no other glasses so I kept one. I received a survey from LC and I told this story. They said they would get back to me within three days. I never received a response as promised. I emailed again, to no avail. Staff is friendly, but after they get your money, management does not care. read more

I took a fall on our cement driveway this afternoon and badly bent the frames of my eyeglasses upon hitting the ground. I called LensCrafters on Rosedale Hwy in Bakersfield and they told me they could try to fix them for me. I went in with my husband and was greeted by a friendly woman. She took the glasses, attempted to fix them, then she passed them on on to Juan, the technician who works in the lab. Juan straightened out the glasses for me in a few minutes, returned them to me at no cost. I would recommend LensCrafters as I was very pleased with their service. Amazing ladies and a gentleman in the shop. Our experiences at this store have been so amazing that my 7 year old son actually asks to visit just so he can look at the often updated selection of child's glasses and visit his "friends." They always greet us by name and with big hugs. We usually avoid corporate chains in favor of local ones, but they have won our whole family over. The customer service and eagerness to please is unsurpassed. I would challenge the individuals who have left less than stellar reviews in the past as a result of unpleasant visits to give them another chance. When we first moved from San Francisco to Bakersfield, we had a not so great experience with the previous doctor at this office. I vowed never to return to ANY LensCrafters. My husband visited about a year after my terrible experience and was raving about the service that he received from the optical department. After a bit of coaxing, and a broken pair of glasses I gave them a try. They exceeded my expectation on every level that day and on every subsequent visit since then. Walked in the store with my daughter just to look at frames. Not one person asked if we needed help. I even looked around to see if they were busy... two women were working the front but did not acknowledge us. I'll save my money and go elsewhere. The sad thing is that I knew what frames I wanted and it would have made it so easy for them but apparently this Lens Crafters does not care about customer service. I have never seen an entire staff with such distain and negativity towards its clients until my daughters recent eye exam and fitting for glasses at the Rosedale Lenscrafter's. My mind was blown when I realized, that there was not one helpful, pleasant, friendly and professional person under their roof. We were ignored for a full 30 minutes after arriving promptly for our appt we booked a week in advance. Interrupting associates working with other clients or even other associates, to let them know you had an appt 10 min ago, 20 min ago, 30 min ago, only pisses them off. To the point that they will do ANYTHING else, but help us. Like counting a drawer, adjusting a display, answering the phone or make calls. We observed all of the above! Honestly, I have enjoyed the other location on ming ave, but after dealing with these miserable , lazy, and spiteful individuals, I will no longer visit or patronage any lenscrafters on the planet. I suggest you do the same. Unless somebody needs the toilet, or maybe they are just looking to have their day ruined. I went in to see if they would measure my pupilary distance so I could have some glass blowing glasses made and the associate told me they couldn't do it for liability reasons. So if I paid for an eye exam and used their prescription, wouldn't it be the same? Not impressed and not coming back. read more

We were in need of some quick help after stepping on a pair of glasses on a long flight. We were traveling through Bakersfield on our way home and visited this LensCrafters location. All of the people there - Dr. Truong, Laura, Ilma, and Laurena, made our experience very pleasant and productive. It was definitely time for a new prescription and some new frames, and we couldn't have been happier with how everything went and with the new glasses. I can not believe all the negative reviews!! I was there about 2 weeks ago and all the staff were super attentive, professional and courteous. The Dr. met all my needs and was so funny which that was a plus. Other Drs I've gone to in the past rush through the whole exam. He was not like this at all! Loved this place!! Unfortunately I only got contact lenses the eye glasses are very expensive here. If they would lower the price on their eye glasses this place would definitely be 5 STARS!!!!! read more

Not worth your money . I have had my glasses for 2 months and the coating is already flaking from the lenses. Very crapy work and the staff wants me to think something dripped on the glasses. Not true one morning the spots were there when I woke up. It is also on both lenses. I have worn gkasses for over 30 years and never experinced any thing like this. Of course they would not reolace the glasses. My hasband also just brought glasses and the arm of glasses fell off! Word of advice dont buy from them. read more

Went in for eye exam and to get glasses a little over a year ago. There was one girl there that was very nice. The rest of the staff were quite rude. I received my glasses after 5 weeks and they never did seem like the lenses were correct. Probabley because the staff did most of my eye test and I only saw the doctor for a few minutes. I just lived with it because my insurance only covers exam's once a year. I also bought my glasses there. Even with insurance they were very expensive. I don't even remember them offiering me a warranty. They probabley did but since I had my other glasses for 4 years I probably didn't think I needed it since insurance with help pay for a new pair after 2 years. Well those expensive glasses broke right in half between the eyes. I didn't drop them, step on them nothing! I took them out of the case one day and half was in my hand and the other half was on the floor. My husband couldn't believe it. Well I took them back to Lenscrafters because this had to be a default in the glasses. I took them in the girl said Oh my what did you do step on them. I told her I just took them out of the case. She asked my name she looked it up and it was right over a year so she said. "You didn't get the extended warranty so there is nothing we can do." She then said we could get you another pair. I said "I will have to get another pair but it won't be here and left". I do not recommend this facility! I found a new optical facility that I love. I had my eye exam last week. The exam itself was very thorough and I left knowing completely the health of my eyes. The support staff was exceptionally helpful and did not seem to mind that I asked a lot of questions about the types of lenses that I should get and why I should get the lenses they recommended. I took my time in selecting the frames. They have many styles and prices of frames to choose from and I was never "steered" toward the more pricey ones. When I went to pick up my glasses, I was met again with a friendly staff member who quickly got my new glasses and adjusted them to fit my face. What a difference my new prescription made in seeing. I am very pleased. My husband had went to an Ophthalmologist last November. The selection of frames was small and the prescription ended up not being correct. It took until January for the office to finally accept there was something wrong with the prescription and agreed to do a recheck which proved there was an error. It took another month to get the corrected glasses back. When I told my husband all the different ways my eyes had been examined, he said his exam had not been so complete. Now, next year when it is time for his checkup, he is going to where I went, LensCrafters on Rosedale Hwy. read more

The employees were nice, but they are under staffed. I stopped by Thursday morning right after they opened. Picked out 3 pairs of glasses. They had to get the prescription from the other LensCrafters. No big deal, told them to call me when they had it and give me a price. 8 hours later I had to call them and they still didn't have it. Said they would get on it right away. I called back shortly after and was told to wait cause there were people in front of me, told them I had been waiting since 10:00am. Finally they had it, went in and paid for it and they would be ready next day. Next day came and I had to call them to see if they were ready, waited 20 min on the phone. They had them ready, drove down there had to wait another 15 min before I was even asked why I was there. Finally got the glasses, and there was a defect in one of the lenses... Now I have to go back tomorrow after they fix it. Needless to say I won't be going back to this store. read more
