I had purchased a pair of sunglasses from this location before, i went yesterday as I had seen a pair of sunglasses on amazon but I wanted to try to buy the item locally. I went to the location, picked up a pair of sunglasses and stood for 10 minutes, waiting for someone to notice me which they didn't. I stopped one of the sales people and asked them if I could get some help.They told me to talk to the two people at the counter. I went and spoke with the 2 people standing behind the counter. I called and made an appointment for an eye exam and I asked if they took my eye insurance and they said that the did. I did not explicitly ask if they were in network and they did not inform me they were out of network. So what should have been a completely free exam cost me 45 dollars. read more

From the person up front all the way to the optometrist, all are rude, disrespectful and care the least about the customers. They are all about ripping people off with a test that has nothing to do with the eye glasses exam. They are forcing people to take an unnecessarily test which by the way it' s a retina specialty test that only an ophthalmologist or an MD would have to interpret (not an optometrist or optician) which is not covered by the insurance and they will refuse to do your eye exam if you don't accept to do their test and pay $ 35 out of pocket! The optometrist was great. The person who fitted my glasses once they came in was rude. When I was concerned my glasses were not straight, he said don't look at my eyebrows and if it bothered me, comb one eyebrow up and one down. I will not be going back. New glasses were not made with the correct prescription. Office "manager" argued with me about it, trying to tell me I had to adjust to the new prescription. I was wearing a pair with that prescription. Nobody in the store was "authorized " to check the glasses to see what the lenses actually were? There were at least 5 employees up front, but the certain optician who could "evaluate" the lenses was not there until next week. The manager person was rude and repeatedly argued every point about these lenses for some reason. I know how easy it is to read the lenses and see if they match the prescription. This is horrible business practice when your entire business is to provide customers with glasses, not make excuses and blame the customer and give her unusable glasses which take weeks to make in a lab in Texas. read more

The 3 stars is for customer service as regards polite, professional team. I spent nearly $800 on glasses here in January of '21... here we are, December'22 and the scratch resistant coating on all 2 pairs has ruined the glasses. It is like looking through an oil slick. I went to Lens Crafters (The Collections Forsyth Cumming, GA) to ask for repair/ replacement. NO OUT OF WARRANTY. This is not my fault and these coatoshohld never have disintegrated in one year. It seems like I've been hitting up all the metro Atlanta LensCrafters stores lately. This LensCrafters at The Avenue Forsyth was the third LensCrafters I visited over a recent two-week span. I've been searching for new frames and it's been interesting hearing advice from the different LensCrafters staff, independent of one another. LensCrafters stocks all the popular and mainstream name brands and each store generally carries the same frames as other stores. I feel like this store is nicer than the other ones I visited at Cumberland Mall and Perimeter Mall. They had some of their nicer frames (e.g the Tiffany & Co. frames) open and available on the floor as opposed to locked up like at the other stores. Tim assisted me and he was informative and helpful. I think I'll ultimately get my frames online since I save a ton of money that way, but the folks here were friendly and it's nice to be able to try on a bevy of brands and styles in person and get useful, expert advice along the way. read more

Worst experience I ever had! Incompetent staff starting from the techs all the way up to the Market Training Manager. Place needs to be closed and staff needs to be retrained! They lie and have no respect for your time or money. I was told the District Manager would contact me within 48 hours and it's been over a week! I took my son to this place last week and we had an awesome experience! Dr. Guerrero was great with my son. He understands children very well and my son's exam went very smooth. After the exam, my son immediately went over to the kid's glasses section and picked out a pair of Ray Bans! We will be picking up his glasses today (after a week). Went in looking to get a copy of my eyeglass prescription from barely 2 years ago. (Prescriptions are generally good for 5 years for eyeglasses) they told me they couldn't tell me [citing some bogus law that says they can't tell me]. The staff at this LensCrafters helped me through a super frustrating experience trying to get new glasses before leaving to thru-hike the Appalachian Trail. I am from New Hampshire and it was nerve wracking to be so far from home trying to get a new pair of glasses. It was also made difficult by my Optometrist at home who had discrepancies in my prescription. However, the staff was unbelievably helpful and were very cooperative with my doctors back home and we were able to pull through and get me fitted with a beautiful pair of glasses before I left for the woods. Do not do business here. I have tried on numerous occasions to give this LensCrafters a chance but enough is enough. From NO one answering phones to Never receiving a call back when messages are left this store needs to be closed. I have had to repeat my eye exams because of bad prescriptions. And have had to wait more than a month just to get trial pairs to later be told that I have to redo my eye exam because time has lapsed to order my contacts. I have been trying to contact a manager and no luck after several days. This place is not worth the rude customer service, high prices, and lack of merchandise availability. read more

Surprised to hear that they wouldn't put new lenses in an existing frame. Isn't that the definition of lens crafting? I'm certain they only told me no so that I'd have to buy new frames. Instead I took my business to Visionworks who were very friendly and put new lenses (for my son's glasses - he broke another pair) in less than 30 minutes. You not only lost my business today, but I won't be back for my, my wife's, my son's and my daughter's annual checkups and annual new glasses (and contracts). read more

When I got my new specs last year, I paid a little extra to get the one year damage coverage. I'm generally not a fan of extended warranties, but I am hard on my eyewear, so I purchased this coverage. Sure enough, a few months later, I scratched one of the lenses. Lens Crafters was great about replacing not only the scratched lens, but the other one as well. They said it would take 10 days, but it only took 2 days to receive the new lenses. I wear trifocal Progressive lenses in my glasses. I recently went for an eye exam and needed a new pair. My former pair was a significantly smaller size than the new pair. The staff member who helped me was very personable, but didn't do any measurements that I've had done before for eye-to-focal-point ranges. My range of sight in the near-vision trifocal is much lower in these lenses. Bottom line, it took me awhile to figure out why my glasses weren't working and I spend 10-12 hours a day in front of a computer. I take full responsibility for not reading the fine print and noting that I only had 30 days to return. I CAN say that I misunderstood their meaning of "return". In my mind, this was a "fix" on the wrong but very expensive pair of lenses/glasses, a cost to me of almost $500, with insurance paying an addtional $500. They'll make more lenses for me...for few more hundreds. So in summary, "Caveat emptor" remains a good rule of thumb to follow, especially when applied to this business. read more

Today, I visited the LensCrafters at the Avenue at Forsyth to see if they could help replace a strap that came with the sports glasses that I'd bought for my son in the Fall. I must say that I was fairly disappointed in the reception that I received. First, I am not one of these people who likes to write reviews on any business especially bad ones. Often if I feel service isn't up to snuff, I tend to just let it go. Today, I feel differently. I'm tired of business getting away with poor customer service. Upon entering the store, I was greeted by an associate. I explained to her that I was looking to replace the strap that came with the sports glasses that I'd bought for my son back in September. She explained that she didn't think it could be replaced as the strap in question comes as part of the set with the glasses, but she would ask her manager. Turns out her manager was the same woman that helped when we initially visited LensCrafters to look into purchasing not only these glasses plus also two additional sets of glasses for my sons (a total of over $500 ). Because she was so kind and seemed so interested in what we needed, I knew I wanted to return and purchase the glasses there and we did just a little over a week later... in my opinion and in hindsight, it seems her kindness and eagerness to help was only a mask to get our business. How foolish do I feel now. The manager's response when asked by the associate if the strap could be replaced was an unenthusiastic and indifferent "no". She stated that it could not be replaced and stated that they didn't have any extras in the back to give to us. Now, to be clear, I never even had the thought that they would give me a strap and I understand completely that the straps come as part of a set with the glasses. I was just looking for a little more direction in terms of where I might find a replacement. They coudn't be bothered to give me even that. Instead, the associate seemed to be on the defensive the entire time and only offered a $30 discount on a brand new frame (the frame originally cost about $100). Are you kidding me? So you are telling me that in order to get this $5 strap replaced, I have to buy a brand new frame???? ...smh... she wasn't joking:-( Now, as I mentioned before, I completely understand that they were not able to give me a new strap as that would mean removing a strap from a perfectly good frame that has not yet been sold. I understand that and am okay with that. What I was bothered by was the lack of initiative especially on the part of the manager and the unwillingness to go the extra mile. They could done something as simple as suggesting an alternative like maybe looking on the manufacturer's website for the piece or calling the manufacturer directly to see if they might have any extras that could be sent. Just humor me or pretend to be concerned. I mean there was only one other customer in the store and at least two associates and the manager on the floor ....This is basic customer service. You made me feel like I was a bother and that unless I was willing to spend another $100 for a new frame that I wasn't worth your time. I bet in another year's time when I return to LensCrafters for new glasses for family (two kids and a husband), these folks will be salivating to get my business. My 96 year old Mom broke her eyeglass frames last week. I did some scouting to find where she had filled her previous prescription and it was at LensCrafters. Unfortunately, her prescription expired years ago and the old lenses wouldn't fit in any of their frames. My sister made the appointment and arranged for The Oaks at Post Road to bring her. Anet, who was driving, called me this morning so I could meet her. The staff was wonderful- Portia, Teresa, Dr. Dawn Marsala (who was so patient with her), and another lady who was also very helpful) and the entire cost for bifocals, new frames, eye exam and protection package with their frames special was $59.95. I was using a walker and Mom was in a wheelchair and they managed the logistics beautifully. I recommend them highly. read more

Upcharging your customers for the sake of "Covid" is not a good look for this company! I made an appointment for an exam. The paperwork that was given to me had the OPTIONAL retinal eye exam for me to accept or decline. I have always gotten the exam every 2 years. Mind you...this exam costs and extra $35 and is not covered by my insurance. Funny how you scratched out the option to decline the exam. Instead, you took a hi-liter marker and wrote in that ALL CUSTOMERS had to pay to have this extra exam per the doctor. Hmmm.... Why? It is not required to have this exam to get and Rx for glasses or contacts. It is optional. When I got in the little room I told the tech that I was not paying for the extra exam and she told me that I had to because of "Covid." I asked her when retinal exams became a valid Covid detection exam. She again just stated the doctor said so and it was cause of the "Covid." If you want to get price gouged b/c of the "Covid"...this is the place for you!!! I walked out! read more
