Been coming here for 3 years and it's been great. Just an FYI, Dr. Early sold the practice and retired as of January 2019. The practice is now owned by another optometrist named Dr. Howell. The practice has been upgraded with lots of electronic tests which each have an up charge which are not covered by insurance. Overall the new optometrist is great, extremely thorough and takes time with you. Only reason for 4 stars is the folks in the front who try to sell you glasses are somewhat pushy. Makes you feel like you are at a car dealership and not an optometrist. read more

Highly recommend you go to a different eye doctor where they know your time is valuable. I made an appointment on their website for 1:20pm well over a week in advance only to receive an EMAIL an hour before my appointment that they were cancelling my appointment because a doctor was not available. When I called to get more information, they told me that they "don't know" how I was able to schedule an appointment while the doctor is out to lunch from 1-2. I asked to be fit in later that day due to their inconvenience and she told me no. Additionally, when I asked why they emailed me the day of my appointment rather than pick up the phone to call me, she tried to gaslight me and told me they have tried to call me when that is 1000% not true. I received ZERO phone calls or voicemails from them. I would give them 0 stars if I could. read more

This is a walk-in store. No one was in the store when I walked in except a person at the front desk. She said she was new and couldn't do much (I was there to choose frames and had a prescription for the lenses). She said I could pick out frames and they would hold them until I came back to get glasses when someone else was there who could do the fitting. Why would you put someone alone in a store who couldn't even assist customers? She said her boss had gotten married the day before and the other person called in sick. It's not like I lived down the street. When I called this store the week before to see if I needed an appointment, I was told I didn't need one if I wasn't getting an eye exam, to just come in during business hours and bring my prescription. No greeting from the young person sitting behind the desk no help and no optician in sight, after looking at two pairs of frames, I walked out and purchased my expensive glasses elsewhere, which is what I recommend that you do as well! read more

doctor is great but the sales and glasses people blamed the doctor because they didnt fit the lenses well and would not remake them so I wound up with for the first time in 35 years a pair of glasses that killed my eyes. So go to the doctor there but take your prescription some where else. read more

I made an online appointment (well my wife did) and when I showed up and gave them my name, they said they'd be with me. 30 minutes later, the young lady mentioned that my online reservation didn't show up in their system. "How'd you know it was an online reservation? I didn't mention that." Long pause. "Could we maybe schedule you for another day?" She asked. Nope. After that it was awesome. Doc did my eye exam and to my surprise I was 20/20 and I didn't have to buy any frames and lenses. read more

If you'd like to waste half an hour of your life in a frustrating exchange, this is your place. I made an appointment for an eye exam, and when I arrived for it, they told me they couldn't find me in the system. That I must be at the wrong location. Then they had trouble running my insurance even though I haven't had an exam in a few years and my husband had just been for one this week. So, I think it's safe to say that the front desk staff is less than competent. They kept insisting that I was at the wrong place until I handed one of the women my phone to show her the confirmation. The two women told me I could stay and they would "squeeze me in" even though I had an appointment, and I would just have to pay for it. Not an online exam. Quick temperature was taken on entry, and everyone was masked in the office, and eye exam went as quickly as possible. The doctor was professional, informative, and I will visit her again in a year. The only negative thing was the wait after my eyes were dilated. I was told to wait out in the office for 15 minutes. After five minutes I realized it would be better if I waited outside. As it turned out, the wait was close to 30 minutes so it was a good idea to have waited outside. read more

This use to be my place to go for many years Dr. Earley and his staff has serviced my family since 2004 and just so we are clear this is of no fault of his own. I love the service from Dr. Stephen Earley but the staff who tries to persuade you into buying things you do not need after year two of this foolishness I'll take my business elsewhere. I was even scared into buying a product after they told me scary story after story of what ifs. I'm so upset because I'll miss Dr. Earley but I can no longer patronize a place who is more interested in making money than caring for the customer. Good experience overall. Dr. Howell is pleasant and thorough. Current check in employees were polite and thorough as well. I would say that if you suspect that you'll be needing to place an order for glasses, go ahead and plan to spend a considerable amount of time there. It took us the same amount of time to order glasses as it did to check in, do the initial exam, wait for the doctor, and see the doctor. Bless her heart, she's kind but the woman who places the orders for glasses is extremely slow. Everything was going really well for the visit up until that point. I'd recommend they hire someone faster to replace her or train the current employees there to assist her. read more

Dr. Early seems great but I can't say the same for the sales staff and technicians out front. See below *Exam and picked out new frames and expensive progressive lenses. *Glasses arive but I can barely read through them. *Technician insists that I am just not used to progressive lenses. *I struggle for a week and a half with this. *One day, standing in a drug store holding a bottle of cough syrup in the air with my head back trying to read the label through the very bottom of my lens, I lose my temper. *I return to the store and argue that this is not about my failure to adapt to progressive lenses. I am tenacious. *They take my glasses to send them to some magical place- a lab I think. *They call me and say that the lab reports that progressive lenses do not work with these frames- I should come in and pick out different frames. * I refuse and tell them to give me bifocals. They act like this is heresy. I am tenacious. *I get my bifocals - they are incredulous that I want to be refunded the difference between the cost of the lenses. Sigh *A year later, the lenses are scratched. I call and they tell me that I have to bring them in to be sent off to have the lenses replaced. *I drive over and the guy tells me that he does not need my frames and orders the lenses. Sigh. *A year later they are scratched again * I also need another exam- Dr. Early tells me that the glare resistant lenses scratch very easily. OK thanks for the news! Sigh. *I order new lenses that are not glare resistant. The technician tells me she needs to send my frames in to have the lenses installed. *I tell her I know better and would prefer not to be without my glasses. *She argues. I am tenacious *She tells me there is a $49 dollar charge for using my old frames. I argue. She says that she has no choice as the computer will add the $49 to my bill. She is tenacious *The computer computes my balance without adding the $49. She is surprised. Sigh. *The lenses arrive. I go to the store. *I put them on and experience double vision. *I am surprised as I have not started drinking yet *The technician does not understand why I am seeing double. She asks her colleague. *The colleague informs her that she put the lenses in backwards. Sigh. As I said, you get the impression that this place is screwed up. I would find another store but is kind of interesting to see what will happen next. read more

Been here a few times, me and the kids. I kept coming back because I really like Dr. Earley, he does an excellent eye exam, very nice and professional. However, the deceptive, high pressure sales tactics of the eyewear section, esp, the pushy Russian lady, have become increasingly annoying. They will try and convince you that paying 2 for $199 out of your pocket is a better deal than using your Eyemed insurance for a free pair of glasses. Why? because all the add-ons you just MUST have on your free glasses, like $64 for anti-glare, etc., are not covered by the insurance. What a joke! If you do go for the eye exam, take your rx elsewhere, and do your research. The eyeglasses industry is a complete ripoff, even Eyemed is in on reaping the profits of the unbelievable mark-ups hapless consumers pay for frames and lenses. If you are willing to buy glasses online, you will pay about 80% less. read more

I really want to title this FOR YOUR EYES ONLY because For Eyes only cares about your eyes - not your customer service experience. Today I went to For Eyes for the first time and I can honestly say that after I go pick up my contacts next week, I will NEVER be going back. My eye exam was done to perfection - the on-site eye doctor was very professional and I would recommend his services to anyone. My issue with For Eyes involves this particular location's business practices. When you go to a business for the first time, most professionals will make sure that you understand how things are done within that business. For Eyes hits you with this information AFTER you're done with the exam and ready to checkout. I was prepared in that I reviewed my benefits prior to going so that I'd have a clear understanding of what to expect. I knew that my copay was $5 and my $150 allowance could be applied towards the cost of materials and contact lens exam/fitting (per my insurance card info). SideNote - the contact lens evaluation / fitting fee is complete BS! I have been wearing contacts since high school - why are my contacts constantly being evaluated. Just call it an exam! At any rate, once I was ready to check out, I ordered contacts from my allowance of $150 (of which I used $110) and I was told that I still owed $66. I asked for a breakdown of that charge and was never provided one. I was told by Kimberly "that's just what it is after your insurance is applied for the exam only." I wasn't happy with that type of explanation and the half-a**ed response and attitude from her but I paid for services that were provided. What I didn't know was that For Eyes operates under two separate "umbrellas." The optical exam side is completely separate from the retail (or contact ordering side). That being said, both operate independently and I couldn't use my $150 ($40 of which remained after ordering contacts) towards the $66 balance. Imagine my horror... I've never dealt with businesses that operate this way. If this was explained to me the moment I provided my insurance information and explained to them that it was my first time at For Eyes, I would have been informed and either made the decision to stay or leave. I would have left based on that because I've never been to any eye doctor that didn't allow you to use the allowance in full towards both services. My goal was to use my full $150 allowance towards both the exam/fitting AND my contacts. For Eyes needs to reevaluate their business practices to make sure that customers are aware of this THE MOMENT they are being placed in the system as a new customer. It's only fair... No one wants to go to ANY business under the notion that they're gonna spend one amount and then at checkout be giving a completely different amount. On top of not being able to use my $40 that remained from the allowance towards my exam/fitting, I couldn't use it to order more contacts because the contacts apparently can't be sold by the box (6 lenses). That shocks me because I've always been able to get one box of contacts if I needed them. Instead, For Eyes makes you order a quantity of 12 lenses (2 boxes) or 24 lenses (4 boxes) at different prices. It just screams SCAM/DECEPTION! So if I want to use my $40 that remains, I have to come out of pocket for the difference of whatever quantity I choose to accept instead of just getting one box at $27.50. The bottom line is this - For Eyes needs to be more customer-friendly. They need to make sure that customers that utilize their services are informed of how they do business up front instead of waiting until the last minute to explain things. It saves time & energy when you know up front. FYI - I even talked to my old eye doctor (who doesn't accept my current insurance) and she was shocked that this happened. She said she'd never even heard of companies that operate independently like that and won't allow you to use your allowance in the manner that it's setup. For Eyes left a bad taste in my mouth and eyes and I hope you'll truly read this and make an informed decision about using their services. I won't be going back. This started in May (not June) of 2013 and it's now January of 2014. This is now an amendment to this journey. It's now late February. Thanks to Teresa and Jorge, in Customer service and Jorge seeing my review on Yelp, they have now given me a refund and I can go find someone to re-tint my glasses. Again, Dr. Earley is great at his profession!! I've had him test me twice now and he's given me a spot on prescription each time. So I've given the the whole chain an upgrade to 3 stars from one star. Thanks Jorge, Teresa and Dr. Earley. Onto my review of the Windward Parkway For Eyes store. Friendly enough on the first visit. After my 6 month debacle with the other store, customer service sent me to the Alpharetta store. Dr. Earley saw the mistake that Dr. Han made with his 2nd prescription. This was the third bad prescription from 2 doctors at For Eyes on Marietta Hwy. Dr. Earley had written a proper, working prescription for me 7 years ago. He did so again, thankfully. I think they are the same prescription as I have, but maybe with a small unnoticeable tweek. When I got the glasses back, the prescription was good, as I said, but the tint was off. Not Brown but Pink brown. Contacted customer service again and I had moved to another part of the state but had to be up near the Alpharetta store soon so she said she'd contacted one of the staff and she'd be there so just come on in and they'd be waiting. Well, I got there on Sunday for the tech to re-tint and she was not there that day and no one else could do it. I left the glasses so she could tint them when she came in the next day. I hadn't heard from them for a few days and called customer no service. I let them know that I was miffed that they hadn't called me to let me know anything. The tech called me, finally. We talked and she wasn't comfortable tinting over the previous tint and said she'd send them to Hialeah to the lab and they would re-tint them. Oh goody, more time to wait. I got them a couple days ago and the tint is wrong again. My old glasses are tinted brown and the sample lenses they show you are brown. This time they weren't pink brown, but they'd tinted them green/gray/brown. Yes, green kills the pink but they over tinted with green so now all outdoors looks dull and greenish. Dr. Earley is great and told me the same as another reviewer on here, about the glare resistant lenses scratching easily. Apparently he's the most honest and competent of the company. read more

I chose For Eyes Optical on the advice of a friend and I am glad I did. The price was my draw, but when I walked in the door Marina the store manager helped me immediately. She was able to help me quickly and effortlessly find the correct frames for my face. I got contacts from here and none of the prescribed contacts suited my needs. I had blurred vision with all the trial lenses given to me. It took them 6 trial packs to get a pair of contacts that gave me least blurred vision. The staff out front are really bad. I called in to made an appointment and was put "on-hold". Nobody came back on the phone. When I called back to ask about this incident, the lady on the phone mumbled something, took my call-back number and said she would call back. After moving to this area my family had to get new glasses along with there Change in prescription.We came across this business in a well located area which was both close and convenient . Inside was a large variety of glasses for all ages and styles in a very modern type showcase. There we set a flexible and close appointment for us. When time came we had our appointment where they used the high quality equipment that you will see in most places. Not the cheap and phony ones like LensCrafters. The doctor was very polite and skilled. He had lots of experience so the data is accurate. When we chose our frames, the kind employees helped us choose the perfect and most stylus fit at the most reasonable price. Surprisingly the frame and the lenses came in a few days after purchase. Unlike most places where it is weeks to get it. To improve well, there was nothing to improve. IN ADDITION...IMPORTANT- if your glasses must be cleaned or the frame must be adjusted, you may come in at any time to fix these minor stuff at any time.. For free right away if time permits. Last week i went for an eye exam and i had an exceptionally great experience thanks to Amanda. My first time in this office and I am extremely pleased. Dr. Early was thorough and pleasant and Barbara was patient and very accommodating to my indecisiveness. I actually came out of progressive lenses thinking it might work to have a driving pair plus a reading pair. After several weeks I was so tired of switching glasses back and forth I sheepishly returned to the office and told them I'd changed my mind and wanted progressive lenses. They were so nice about it and in no time I was happily wearing the perfect pair of glasses. I was using limited insurance and through Barbara's tenacious searching for discounts, etc. I ended up paying a minimal amount out of pocket. I am so happy to find an office I feel cares about ME as a person. read more

I have had a bad experience at this place. I ordered my glasses a month ago and they haven't arrived yet. I've made several trips to this place and many phone calls and nothing but empty promises. They got paid but showed no interest in taking care of business. They also changed the price on me twice until I demanded a breakdown. They finally agreed to the original amount. Dr Early did my yearly eye exam earlier this year and he was professional and pleasant. I did not like the front office person pushing hard to upsell additional products, and I ended up taking my Rx to another business. Last week I had an accident involving the wrong product dropped into my eye by mistake. I stopped in to the office to ask if Dr Early could please take a look at my eye to make sure I didn't cause damage. The front office woman recognized the urgency and said it would be a 10 minute wait. HOWEVER, she got the "temp" involved and this surly, unfriendly girl told me to come back in an hour and it would be $59 for an office visit. That was her story and she was unconcernedly sticking to it, even thought my insurance co-pay should be $20. Disgusted with the surly "customer no-service", I left and called another eye doctor who got me in that visit was professional, friendly, smiling, and cost $20 co-pay. I've been going to this office for 5 years now. After this experience I will never be going back again. Dr. Earey is fantastic, but the people who work out front are so far beyond incompetent I'll never go back. It's going on my third week since I ordered glasses from the For Eyes in Alpharetta, GA. Supposedly, my glasses were shipped on the 10th (it is now the 17th) to the store, however no one has a tracking number, they're not in the store, and no one can give me an answer as to a time or date when they'll be in store. The worst part about this entire experience is that NO ONE seems to be willing to help me. They don't offer any alternative, they don't try to alleviate the situation and they don't really seem to care at all. As someone who can't see without their glasses and has super sensitive eyes, wearing contacts for 3 weeks straight has been torture. When I tried to cancel the order, they told me it is really complicated and that they couldn't. I am leaving for a business trip for two weeks tomorrow, meaning I won't be able to get my glasses now for another month, all because of this completely useless awful business. If you are thinking of ordering glasses go ANYWHERE else. They take months apparently to get glasses, when you can get them in 30 minutes elsewhere, they tack on packages when you buy them without you asking for any of them, and they have NO concept of customer service what so ever. read more
