I am extremely disappointed with the way I was treated at this LensCrafters location. I was pressured into purchasing unnecessary lens insurance, interrupted constantly, and treated with hostility during a phone call. The employee, Leila, was rude and dismissive and even hung up on me before I could explain my situation. When I went to the store in person, the manager (possibly Edith) behaved in a similar way--refusing to listen and continuing to push insurance I did not need. Another employee eventually stepped in and confirmed that I was correct all along. No customer should ever be treated this way. Stopped by while I was in the area to try and get prescription sunglasses. The worker was extremely rude. Wouldn't sell me the pair I was looking at because it "wouldn't look good with your prescription". I get letting the customer know that it might not look the best but strait up refusing the sale due to one's own preference over the customers is unprofessional. Update, the pair they refused to sell I bought directly from the manufacturer and they look great even with a stronger prescription. I was patient the first time--since it is a pandemic and I understand that these things happen--however two times is unacceptable, especially when the next appointment is over two weeks away. When I called about a frame I had seen while visiting from out of town, only taking a photo and forgetting that I needed a number off the frame - I got Alexis! She was most helpful and gave me their email address to send my photo. She called and apologized for the delay (1 hour-not even expecting so soon)! Customer service here is ATROCIOUS. I had NO HELP when asking questions or picking out glasses myself. When I finally chose glasses, they quickly made someone available (by taking them away from a woman who needed help selecting a pair for herself) for me to make my purchase. The employee who was ringing me up did NOT know how to read a glasses prescription. I had to teach her what the OS, OD, +, and - meant, and I am still afraid she may have put it in incorrectly. Also, LensCrafters advertises that they will fill your prescription within an hour, and I found out mine would take a week or more. What is that!? And they only told me that AFTER I paid! I mentioned it before I paid, and the employee (who clearly wasn't listening) just mumbled "mhmm" in agreement. All they care about is making a sale. There is no regard for the customer. read more

Two days later after I bought my glasses, they cracked just by a simple change in temperature at home, I was in a warmer room , when I moved to colder one my glasses were cracked. I was in the store for a replacement but the employee did not want to replace the glasses, she was extremely rude. Finally, after arguing for some time she changed the glasses, which cracked again 2 days later. Really bad material quality. I have two recommendation for the store: 1. You should give training (how to deal with the client) to the employee who assisted me my last visit. 2. you should check the quality material that you are selling. I had vision exam and glass ordered. I do not know what went wrong, but I could not wear glasses. It made me dizzy and could not read anything on paper. I declined and got refund. I went different optical for the same service, everything came out fine. I mostly use glasses for reading. Since I got new pairs, I tried to use one from LensCrafters two years ago. It was worse than I had four years ago at Sears. It is well known shop and good choice of frames, yet I'll NEVER EVER go there again. If you are not satisfied, reject it. Hot and cold, depends on who waits on you. For the past few years, I have had great experiences at LensCrafters. The doctors and everyone in the back office are marvelous. The selection of eyeglasses is OK, and sometimes a pair of glasses can be made an hour. Other times I had to wait a couple weeks. My most recent experience was this week and as usual the doctor appointment was great. I got an appointment in a reasonable amount of time and when I got there, I only had to wait a few minutes. Everyone was friendly, professional and efficient. The doctor was thorough, professional and extremely likable. Then I went to pick out glasses and it seemed like the women that were working there that day were more concerned about what they look like than helping customers. I found a pair of glasses and had the salesperson price them after my insurance. it seemed high to me, over $400. I left without buying. Then I went downstairs in the mall to Cohen optical and found a similarly priced frame and asked them to price them with all the same insurance, lenses, coatings and options. Their price was approximately $100 less, totaling under $300. That's a big difference. read more

Over crowded, high priced. Save your time and money and go to a specialist. Especially if it's for a child. After buying glasses and an extra set of sports goggles for my child- we had to go to a pediatric eye care specialist who said we spent way to much money and should have gotten contacts that were much, much less. I went in last night to shop and get a price. The two salespeople were with other customers, which is totally understandable. However when I did get to sit down with one to get a price, it took 25 minutes of taking personal information and i never was able to get a price. I walked out. Dmitri took my information once, and entered my Rx (from my own eye Dr.) When I mentioned I had VSP, he told me that it required authorization and that would take 10 minutes to get. He took more info on my and on my insurance, and then waited. He then got the authorization and re-entered all my info. He then insisted on having my wife's full SS#. I refused to give that as all I wanted was a price. He claimed that he could not work up a price without it, so I walked out. I've been to several other opticians and each has been able to give me a price within 5 minutes and without taking all that info. I won't be going back to Lenscrafters. read more

Monday evening at 8:00pm I visited the LensCrafters store in Danbury Fair Mall to buy new glasses. I knew exactly which frames I wanted (Oakley Sculpt 6.0 Bronze) There was a young male associate who finally asked if I needed help. I told him that I wanted new glasses and which ones. His first response was that he didn't know the frames by name and pointed me to the area where the Oakley glasses were. He mentioned that the names were on the inside of the frames and walked away. Now one of the reasons why I am buying glasses is that I can't read small letters! After looking through the frames for about 10 minutes, I still could not find the frames that I was looking for. I asked him if there was anyway he could look it up in his system. He said that their system only had the "codes." So sensing his complete lack of interest in helping me, I pulled out my iPhone and googled "Lenscrafters Oakley Sculpt 2.0 Bronze." He had already wandered off again, so I found him and gave him the "code." At this point, he wandered off for a bit presumably to look in the "system." After a few minutes he came back and said that they didn't have any in stock and didn't know when they were getting any in. I said "Surely, there is an estimated delivery date in the system that would show that." He said no, but most people would "restyle" if something wasn't in stock. I once again explained that I wasn't interested in any other frames and that I came in to buy very specific frames and was not pleased so far with the service. He finally said that he could special order them. I said fine but how long would that take for the frames to come in. He said that he had no way of telling that. He couldn't even give me a general idea. Now, I can go on any website and place an order for something and get a pretty good if not exact idea of when I am going to get it delivered. I was extremely frustrated at this point at his lack of interest in helping me. His last statement to me was "You can either order them or not." I didn't and I am still without glasses. The whole experience disgusted me. I cannot believe the complete lack of customer service that was shown to me that evening. After I left the store, I was quite literally shaking. I sat down for a few minutes, composed my thoughts and went on to their website to post my experience. However NO savings as far as cost ( using a 40% discount) comparing similar glasses from my small office optometrist. I would rate my experience ** however the one hour turnaround yields ***. Customer service is surely not their strongpoint. Had lenses replaced in my eyeglasses and was told that it would be about an hour and that they would call me-they never did as I waited in the mall and I told them I would stay around-they confirmed my number and never called-went back almost 2 hours later and my glasses were waiting there. Horrible process in place and further to that many people rotate to handle the front desk which lends to further confusion and lack of accountability. I went to LensCrafters begrudgingly as my normal private eyeglass store is by appointment only and the next available was almost 2 weeks away and I am going out of town for 2 months and really wanted my new script with new frames and sunglasses ready before I left. I had the very best experience today being helped by Alexis whose name tag said Team Lead and Optometrist in Training. She was so patient, on top of the frames she felt looked the best on me, picked out numerous styles and colors, took pictures on her ipad so I could see what I looked like. After trying on over 20 pairs I settled on two frames and she input my insurance information and script with ease. She took all the right measurements and although the anti-glare machine is not working, she assured me my glasses would both be ready within a week or sooner. If I could rate LensCrafters lower than one star I would. This is my second experience with this company in three years with the same problem. One year to the date, the anti- reflective coating started to peal away from the glass making it nearly impossible to see. My earlier pair did the same thing but I attributed it to a one time defective process, was I ever wrong, they were worse and only one year old. I returned the glasses to the store where the employee tried to blame it on my cleaning solution but when I showed her my receipt where I purchased and used the LensCrafter brand solution and wipes, she was caught in a bold face lie. Just by chance the lady waiting in line behind me had the same exact problem and was given the same bogus excuse as I was. LensCrafters said if I had purchased the insurance they would "make good". I questioned the employee further only to find that Insurance was just south of $50 and ALSO required a $39 copay if used. This company is a rip-off and you are better to go to a more upscale lab and wait the few days extra for a quality product. I plan on going to state's regulating agency in Ct. to make a formal complaint. Eric Anderson is President and GM of LensCrafters and I have also seen him listed as CEO, regardless, he needs to know the policy of has Danbury store and perhaps the QC lacking in his final product. I haven taken some time to write this review because I was so disappointed with my experience, I wanted to be reasonable when I wrote it. First, they sold me on the "Blue I.Q." Technology, however failed to mention until AFTER I paid that I could not get the glasses for a week. OK, no big deal. Well, I had to call after a week to see if my glasses were even ready! I was told I would receive a call back in a few minutes, 24 hours later no call. So I called again, I was told "Oh, didn't I call you? Yeah, they're here". So we went to get them the next day, was handed a broken case and told "If they do not fit right you can always come back". Yeah, no way sister! I'm done with crappy service! read more

If I could give this store 0 stars I would. I walked in yesterday to try some stuff on. Glasses don't look very good on me, so I was shocked to try on 3 pair that looked awesome right away! The product basically sold itself but I had some questions. The store was a little busy so I understood it taking a few minutes for someone to come up to me. After waiting about 5 minutes, a guy walked up to help and he started asking questions. About halfway through me giving my answer, he interrupted and excused himself to talk to someone behind me. I figured it might've been a customer he was helping before so I again understood. The friend of mine I was with and I sat down on the bench to wait, the guy went in the back, stood at the empty cashier's counter for a moment tapping his fingers on the counter, and then proceeded to help a customer RIGHT IN FRONT OF ME that came in after me. I took a picture of the tag and left. Did he forget about us? Did he profile us for people who might not buy? Who knows.. but I definitely will not be going back to this location. Once helped, they were very nice. But every time I have stepped into the store, maybe on five different occasions, everyone is too busy to even greet you and people are sitting there waiting and more keep walking in; then there becomes a line. Went in Monday morning when there were almost no customers in the store, to ask for my Pupil Distance, a simple measurement done with a ruler, which should have been in my file on their computer. I need the measurement to order insert lenses for my ski goggles, which LensCrafters does not make. I have to order it from overseas. The optician was not at all nice, said I would have to get that measurement from where ever I ordered my glasses. I told her I had ordered many pairs of glasses at the store. She looked me up on her computer, and said that I had only bought frames there for eyeglasses and for sunglasses, but never lenses. That is absurd. I've never bought frames without lenses in my life. So I asked her if she would measure it for me. She said "no," I would have to get that from wherever I got my glasses. I said I got my glasses when I was overseas so do I have to go back overseas to get my pupil distance measured? She said, "We can't do that for you here." Terrible attitude. Terrible customer service. Will never go back to LensCrafters. read more

The only reason to go here is if you need glasses on the same day. I bought two, almost three pairs of glasses here and got fed up with the prices. Beyond that, they also have about 4 people on staff, which means no one is ever available. Always a wait. Went to Costco, it was $200 less and better service/quality. read more
