The business practices in this office are completely unacceptable. I called and gave my VSP insurance information and they told me I was in network. The day of the appointment when I went to look for the address I noticed they had 2 star reviews and one of the first reviews was about this same situation and also same medical insurance as mine. I called VSP and they told me all LensCrafters are out of network. I called to cancel my appointment and they told me they will charge for no show and I told them they didn't say they're out of network but they insisted they were. Called VSP again with the Drs office on the line and they again confirmed they were NOT on network and then the conversation quickly change. The lady from the Drs office said that it doesn't matter because I was OK with the charges... NO! You shouldn't lie to your customers !!! That is not cool. I would've paid way more if I ended up going there as well as for the frames... The lady hung up after saying they will charge me for no show...so I had to open a case with VSP around this situation. Man oh man, these reviews are dismal. The fact that I was brave enough to go here surprises even me, but I was desperate. I tore my last pair of contacts and surprise, my prescription was up. Wearing my glasses for more than a day hurts my brain, so what else could I do but find a place that took my insurance and same (or next day) appointments? Now, I know I got myself into this situation by procrastinating for an amount of time I'm not comfortable admitting to strangers on the internet, so I took my chances and booked a same day contact lens exam. I arrived and parked, got inside and the front desk staff at the exam area was a BIT less friendly than you'd maybe expect, but they were friendly enough and I can imagine they'd already had a long day, give them a break! They had me fill out some med forms and in 2 minutes I was off to pre-exam things (like that god-forsaken death machine born straight from the depths of the devil himself: the air poofer) and in 5 minutes after that, I was in the regular exam room. The doc I saw (I'll update if I remember her name or get out of my comfy bed to read my prescription) was super friendly and kind. I opted for the digital eye scan (in lieu of dilation) because it is worth every penny of the $38 to not have to have my pupils exploded to the size of the sun for what feels like 15 hours. I have EyeMed insurance and my contact fitting and (plus anti-dilation procedure) was $120 total. So worth it. My appointment was at 4:30 and I was walking out the door at 5:02. Faster than I could even believe. It's a shame so many people have had such a bad experience, but I often wonder if Yelp is turning into a eternal vent box and people just like to slam the screen of their phone in anger because THAT'S. I've had the most inconsistent experience at this awfully-run store. I've experienced rudeness from the manager, witnessed her be rude to her employees, and they seem to try to make the experience of picking up orders so difficult. I purchased prescription glasses and sunglasses here and they came back as being different prescriptions. They had me order new lenses that were less expensive (when they told me they were saving me money when I ordered them initially) but when I showed up to pick them up, they said I couldn't be helped for over and hour. I have to say that I did not set out to purchase glasses from LensCrafters. I was actually in the mall to see and purchase frames I found online at Warby Parker. I made sure they were in stock before I went but when I got there I was greeted by a barrier across the door and a representative who advised me there would be at least a 20 minute wait to enter the store. He was not pleasant and very much made me feel that my business didn't matter. I was extremely annoyed and wrote off Warby Parker immediately. On the way back to the parking structure I walked past LensCrafters and the store looked inviting so I thought I would check it out. There was a sign at the entrance asking customers to wait for a representative but the minute I came to the entrance I was immediately noticed, greeted with a happy smile and escorted in to begin my purchasing journey. With COVID a concern I found the store super prepared with a process in place to allow me to try on frames without a concern for my safety or the next patron's who may want to try on the same frames and social distancing that was on point. Impressive! I also noticed that when the store had reached capacity customers were still greeted warmly at the door and made to feel that their business was important. Carlos my sales rep went above and beyond in assisting me to find just the right frames. I explained things I liked and things I didn't and he made selections for me that were exactly what I asked for while taking into consideration lens size to ensure best results for my progressive lenses. He walked me through every option, including advantages of the additional protection plan and never pressured me to purchase once. I was so impressed with his exceptional customer service, the 30-day happiness guarantee, and the evergreen aftercare that I purchased on the spot - it was absolutely a WIN-WIN. This is about how they work with your EyeMed insurance. It is not EyeMed's issue - it is LC's. First of all, they say the accept the insurance with free exam. Then they upsell you for over 100 bucks for some BS like testing the contacts etc. Then the prescription is for a specific name brand instead of generic. When you finally go to COSTCO to get your refill, they can't give you the generic brand because it is written out to a specific brand. The whole business model is a scam. It is a corporate scam since both are to blame. The vision insurance is more of a discount club - but then they let you get scammed by businesses like Lenscrafter. read more

The staff was nice and helpful when I asked for any pair that I could get made as soon as possible because I had lost my glasses in the move. They sold me on 2 pairs, one "blue light" pair that came in a few days and another that didn't arrive for TWO MONTHS. After calling weekly, daily, they lost the glasses, reordered them, and had never heard of me for TWO MONTHS, I call again just for a sweet new girl to tell me that they were sitting there for 2 weeks available for pickup. I have never had such an awful experience with the least helpful problem management in any glasses purchase. One girl that answered the phone one of the million times I called assured that I would get money back for the inconvenience and nothing. This review is for the lenscrafters in cherry creek mall. I went in and was completely ignored for 10 minutes. They weren't very busy but didn't even acknowledge me. So I left, went shopping, and came back. When I came back I asked if they could help me tighten my glasses so they'd fit my face better. The man snapped my glasses in half within 15 seconds of me handing them to him. Then he just rudely set them on the table back in front of me. He said they're not liable and there's nothing he can do. He didn't even seem sorry. I just sat there with my jaw dropped. It was unbelievable how casual and unapologetic he was. I'm not saying he did it on purpose but I was shocked by how careless he was, like it was my fault. They were $150 glasses. Later on my friend told me she had a horrible experience there, too. In her words, she walked in and the woman completely ignored her, and so she asked someone for help to see what lenses could be made for a prescription. They were like oh we will be over in a bit to help. My friend waited for 20 minutes, found glasses, went online and ordered them in the time and NOBODY ever helped her. Do not go here! Totally shady operation. They told my son that they accepted VSP (our vision plan) and then after his eye exam told him that he had no benefit coverage for contacts. I called VSP who said that Lens crafters is out of network. He now has had an eye exam but can't use our $400 coverage. I then asked if they could give us the 40% discount as advertised on their site and she said they aren't part of Lenscrafters. Each office is individually managed and has their own policies. I've never written a bad review but am genuinely so upset after my visit today. this place is SUCH a scam/joke. This review is specifically for the associated optometry office. I've been coming to this office for five years. I ran out of contacts accidentally thinking I had back up Boxes when I didn't, and my glasses are damaged. I need to be able to see for my job as a physician and surgeon. I called and explained the situation and the receptionist spoke with an optometrist, who told Me they would give me a 1-2 week supply while I got in for an appt to renew my prescription and wait for a refill. The next day I went to pick them up and they said they could not do it. They gave me a manager, Theresa's phone number to talk to who was incredibly unprofessional, rude, and unhelpful. She told me it was a "liability issue" to give me a one week supply (I've literally had the same rx for 5 years, had an appt the following day to renew the rx, and like.... I'm asking for contacts not an oxycodone prescription). She refused to speak to an optometrist to confirm what they had told Me the day before. She told me "why don't You just prescribe them for yourself". The most frustrating part was I drove an hour through rush hour traffic to pick these up while I have a critically ill family member bc the need to see for my job is so critical, and ended up getting screamed at on the phone by the manager and not so much as an apology for the inconvenience or any helpful suggestion of how I am supposed to see in the meantime. Luckily I went to target and ordered contacts for literally 1/2 the cost of what this place charges. This place is a joke. LensCrafters has never been my favorite, but today's interaction really made me realize how thankful I am to finally be done with the company. First, the lady at the counter (pierced lip, dark hair) was automatically condescending from the get-go, claiming I was supposed to be in yesterday when I clearly remember scheduling my appointment for today at 12pm. Second, she was very rude when I told her I did not bring my contacts with me, even though no one over the phone instructed me to do so. Fortunately, she was corrected by her coworker when she learned that I've had 0 problems with the trial lenses and there was no need for me to bring them if they were working perfectly fine for me. And third, after she handed me my prescription I politely asked if there was any way they had the contacts in stock as I am leaving the country tomorrow, to which she informed me that they needed to be ordered. As I was walking out the store, I didn't see the specific name of the contacts (this one was on me), but when I turned around to go back and clarify I overheard her saying "...like why would you wait so long..." which I am positive was about me. Bottom line: LensCrafters is a money-stealing, unprofessional company who hires rude, impatient staff, and I am unbelievably happy to be able to say "good riddance." While I have been going to this store for several years now, this last experience has made me decide to search for a new place to visit. Now, don't get me wrong, the actual optometrists at this location are great, it is the actual lens crafters that suck! After spending over $350 on new frames & lenses and the understanding that it would take a week to get them in, I think I was more than understanding when it was taking a bit longer, like almost another week longer. Upon not hearing from anyone at the store to let me know that there was problem in the arrival of my glasses, I decided to call the store to see what was up. I had to call twice just to get some type of answer. First call, when placed on hold, hung up on me which required a call back. Then, they didn't know what was going on with my glasses & that they would have to do some searching and find out why my glasses where still not ready and that they would call me back. Got a call back (call me surprised) from the lab manager who informed me that there was an issue with computers and the order, that only 1 of the 2 lenses arrived in the store & that they didn't know where or why the other lens didn't show up. Now that I called, they were going to reorder my lenses and it was going to take another week to get them in & ready for me. I am annoyed that it took a phone call from me to get them to look into where my glasses where as opposed to realizing that they weren't going to be ready in the one week as promised & called me to let me know. I work in the service industry and this type of customer service is not how to effectively build guest loyalty. I decided to check out Lenscrafters because they were in network with my insurance. I'm so happy that I made this decision! Everything about my visit was very pleasant. As soon as I walked in to the store my appointment began. I was taken back to the first room and had all of the testing complete in less than 10 minutes. The staff was so nice and explained everything. Even the machine that blows wind into your eye wasn't as unpleasant as usual ; ) They also offer the option of getting digital imaging of your eye instead of dilation. Now, anyone with glasses or contacts knows how terrible it is when you get your eyes dilated. This won me over instantly! The optometrist was extremely nice! He walked we through the whole exam and let me know the reason he was doing everything. I felt very comfortable and taken care of. This made things so much easier. My whole appointment was complete in less than 30 minutes. Everyone was so nice and helpful at this location. I will definitely be back for all my future vision needs. read more

So I avoided this location for a few years and finally came back during the semi-annual half off lenses event. My old frames needed to go and my lenses desperately needed a boost. (Read: I am as blind as a bat!) I found some great frames by DKNY and got my glasses made. That's where the story should end, but not so fast. Over the course of the last few months, my plastic frames have needed some serious adjustments. First they were too wide, then they were slipping down my face, then it was something else. It was super annoying to say the least. But after I was reintroduced to Anthony (I had first worked with him at the Aurora Mall Lenscrafters), my frames were adjusted perfectly! He even hooked me up with better, lighter lenses so the frames wouldn't slip down my nose. I love my new frames and my new look so much! Rude, rude, rude. Our son had an eye exam today. After we were finished, we asked an employee to check the price of new lenses for our son as we weren't sure we would get new ones (his prescription change was very slight.). This guy acted like we asked for his firstborn child. He was completely put off and told us "well it looks like you guys are in a hurry and this could take some time". He got irritated when I told him we didn't have our insurance card and had to look up the information. Our insurance changed recently and we never received new cards. When I told him the name of the insurance company, he said "ok, well that's going to take a while". We left and came back in about 10 minutes. When he came back with the price, he made sure to give us our "member ID," telling us "make sure you being this next time so we don't have to go through all this". We have been long time customers, coming here for more than 10 years. I wouldn't have bothered to ask the question if I didn't have time to get the answer, in order to make a more informed decision. Went in yesterday with my two sons. It can be hectic with kids. We were in and out in 35 minutes, pick out frames, did my eye exam and purchased. Awesome experience. I know it cost money for a better lenses so I was prepared for the price. If you're not prepared to drop some cash, go to Walmart. But you pay for what you get. And I've been there, they still charge you an arm and a leg. It's better to drop a couple extra bucks and get quality that will last you. Brett helped me. He was awesome. Good selection of basic frames for a mall store. The LensCrafters employees were knowledgeable, and took the time to help me choose the right thing. I got some nice Burberry frames for my "computer" glasses. My only quibble was with the optometrist office -- the doctor was really great. But I had asked ahead of time how much $ the exam would be. I wish they would just give me the price -- instead, when I arrived, they said (rather cryptically) that price was for a basic exam with tests that had "side effects". They suggested I pay more for the newfangled machine with no side effects (turns out, they were referring to dilation vs. the newer technique -- then they continued mentioning it, trying to wear me down). If they'd just quoted me the higher price originally, I would have gladly paid it -- but I refuse to accept a sneaky upsell like that (makes me feel like a chump), so I had to go home with dilated pupils and a bad taste in my mouth from feeling manipulated. Whether it's Dr. Winnick himself or his associates the cost of eye exams are very affordable and today I just bought a year's supply of contact lenses for the lowest price I could find. I didn't realize this also included a rebate! As much as I grew to dislike Cherry Creek Mall after working there for over a year, this is one of the few businesses I return to if I have any reason to be here. The new location in the mall has been done very nicely, updated technology and facilities and overall a cleaner, more modern look. Only kicker is, too bad they no longer validate for parking but fortunately the appointment took less than an hour so I didn't owe an extra dime for it. I have to admit something to you. I come to this LensCrafters often when my glasses (from other places) need adjustment, screws, etc.It's convenient because you're in the mall and there they are! They have always been incredibly helpful even though I am not really their customer. After doing this for a few years I finally realized why don't I just come here for my glasses? And so this is where the family comes now. Today my daughter got a pair of really awesome glasses - they're gorgeous! Her technician who helped her was so enthusiastic about her glasses and getting them just perfect, both pre-order and after they were in and needed to be adjusted her face. I want in the other day to the LensCrafters in Cherry Creek Mall. What a difference a couple of years makes. For starters, the woman who helped me choose frames was borderline knowledgeable about their product mix. Then...the car dealership experience kicked in. I asked about discounts. (They no longer offer AAA discounts--too bad.) The woman said--"I need to talk with my manager." She and the manager huddled in plain sight, away from me...and she came back with a so-so discount. I explained that the price was still too hight. Guess what--She needed to talk with her manager again. And once again, they huddled together in plain sight. And guess what again--She came back with a lower price. Not much lower, but a little lower. I found the experience creepy--Just like trying to negotiate a car deal. Beyond questionable staff choices, everything seemed like a huge scam. They quoted me $65 for a pack of daily contact lenses, and I, justifiably, expressed my concern. They insisted that I would not be able to find them much cheaper online, so I asked if I could be fitted for more reasonably priced lenses. THE STAFF SCOFFED. One of the staff said, "what did you expect? Daily contacts are more expensive." Anyway, I went online when I got home to find the same lenses for half the price. You know what that means? The staff are very attuned to the way faceshape and frames work together and will help you find a pair that make your glasses your automatic fix for looking to put together instead of the things that you don't want anybody seeing you in. So. I hate shopping for glasses. I have a face that because of my cheekbones is narrower at my temples than my forehead or cheeks. I also have a high prescription. I usually will spend about an hour looking at glasses before just choosing something that is the least ugly. I went into LensCrafters today. I was immediately checked in on by a staff member. About a half hour in when I was clearly struggling she came back. Handed me about three frames to try (frames I hadn't thought to grab to for myself) and the second pair I fell I love with. Breana was fantastic. She responded to what I liked or didn't like in frames and knew exactly where to go in the store to find the frames she thought would look good. I literally didn't take them off for the consult and kept seeing myself in the mirror and just really actually liking how they made me look. She was super diligent in marking out where my pupils were and good enough wasn't good enough for her. She really took her time to ensure she got the proper fit. read more

I am having a problem and not only did they make no attempt to help, they couldn't even connect me with a manager who might, at least, be able to explain the limitations of their service and what I might try instead. I just had a really great experience at this Lenscrafters. I'm new to Denver and recently broke my arm. I was able to take my contacts out, but was not able to put them in--even after hours of frustration. I was able to make an appointment online, (awesome), the night before. I showed up to my appointment and did not wait at all for the initial screening or for the optometrist. Dr. Silver and the other staff were very understanding of my one functional arm situation and worked out a plan for me. Sue, the contact lady, was amazing and actually figured out how I could efficiently take out and replace my contacts. My appointment was at 12:10 and I was on my way home, including eye exam and 1 arm contact training, by 1 PM. I will definitely go back and recommend them to others!! read more
