Terrible experience. Made an appointment. Waited around after checking in. I was told I had to come back another day to finish learning to put my contacts in because the Dr. wanted to go home. I was then charged full price. They got $165 out of me between my payment and my insurance for just over an hour of me being there. They just want your money and don't care if you get what you came for. I can't remember leaving anywhere in the last five years being more dissatisfied with the services (not)rendered. read more

I've been with Eye Exam for many years. I've gone to the Mission Valley, North County and El Cajon locations. So been using them for 15+ yrs and that's a long time. Pretty loyal customer I think. Anyways the El Cajon location I had an issue with back in 2000. One of the optometry reps was flat out rude and carried a very poor attitude. Yeah I complained back then too. Didn't help much though. I was called in for her to tend to my needs but, it was forced customer service. I could tell it was not genuine. So had an eye exam recently by an Optometrist there who graduated from Opth school maybe a year ago. I was very impressed with him due to my prescription being a very difficult one. No exaggeration my sight is BAD. This doctor got my trial lenses almost perfect on the first try. Usually takes 3 visits for that to happen. So he is great!!! However, his horrible staff ends up reflecting upon him. Not sure if he realizes this. Now the staff is where my real issue is. The staff there are not professional at all. To date after leaving 3 messages for someone to call me back on my contacts (going on over month for another trial pair) nobody has bothered to call me. No follow up on status or reassurance letting me know they're working on it still. So that's one problem "no communication with patients". Next the young girls there when I've gone in are inattentive, not customer service orientated, become nice when asked for their and the managers name. Def need major training on how to approach people they're supposed to help care for. I've been to fast food places and have received better customer service. The attire of the young girls there needs addressing. On top of crappy attitudes the girls are dressed like they're going out for the night or clubbing. Inappropriately dressed in a supposedly professional environment. Eye exam CEO, Regional Manager or Big Wig there my suggestion is fire the whole staff there and carefully hand pick better customer service educated professionals that can do a job well!!! read more

I went to the Clairemont Drive location on May18th because it was convenient and I had just broken my glasses of 4yrs. Unfortunately they were unrepairable and I purchased a new pair. I was extremely pleased with my sales experience from Hailey. Then when I was reviewing my receipt yesterday, I noticed that there was a "one year protection plan" that was never discussed or ordered for $34.99! I immediately called the store and spoke with Joe who apologized & said that he would need to get authorization from his manager to credit my card back. I waited a couple of minutes on hold & then he proceeded to tell me that I needed to come into the store with my card. He suggested that I go to the closest store to get that taken care of. Now I'm really frustrated & definitely don't want to go back to this location! So, I walked into the Parkway Plaza location, where I normally go near my home. I explained the situation & Eva immediately remedied the situation! They did NOT need my credit card and stated that Joe could have done it over the phone! My husband and I've been going to this store for several years now. I think Eva recognized me and I learned my lesson, in deterring from the normal EXCELLENT customer experience! Our salesperson Mark was extremely helpful, polite and didn't try to sell us more than we needed! Before we could decide on a pair of glasses for my 12 y/o, Mark helped us price options, run the insurance, take pictures of the kiddo with different pairs on, etc. so I could see exactly what it would cost and my son could see how he would look. I went there a couple months ago for the first time, because I needed new glasses asap. The customer service was AMAZING. All the staff were extremely friendly, and unfortunately I can't remember the name of the lady that helped me out, but she showed me frames that worked for my face, and showed me frames to steer away from. She was very good about sticking to the price range I told her I wanted to stay in. I also got asked more than once by other employees if I had been helped, which made it obvious the employees try not to let a customer go un-noticed. Great place :) read more

Went in for my very first eye exam EVER. Everyone who helped me went above and beyond to deliver great customer service. Being a personal banker i know how important it is to make your clients feel welcome and important and everyone at the parkway plaza location did just that. I can't say enough about Karen, the General Manager at LensCrafters at Parkway Plaza. I needed a special set of color vision lenses (O2Amp Oxy-Iso; available from Amazon) cut and fitted to frames and she offered to do it. I hadn't expected LensCrafters to do it because neither the lenses nor the frames were from LensCrafters. She and the staff were as excited as I was about the lenses that allow me to see red and green; everyone had to try them once they were cut! I am so thankful for Karen and her team for doing this. One of the worst customer service experiences I have ever had. All was smooth up until it was time to pick up my glasses. After paying for the exam and the glasses I was told it would take about 2 hours. I said fine. At that point it was about 5pm and I told the lady helping me that I would come in the next day at 10am so there was no need to rush. That was on Monday 5-27-15. I did not make it on Tuesday to pick them up so finally on Wednesday at 6pm I go it to pick up the glass. Nobody can find them. After about 10 minutes the same lady that helped me on Monday proceeds to tell me that they did not have the lenses on premise. She then said they called you. I told her that I never received a phone call about the issues and that it was now going to take 10 days to get my glasses. I needed them for class. I asked this lady if it was possible to call the other stores in the area to see if they could fill the prescription for me. She agreed that was a great idea and went as far to say that maybe somebody from their location might be able to go get them for me but first the LAB DOCTOR who would be in on Wednesday at 10am would have to call and find out if anyone had what we needed. 11am Wednesday and I again never received a call about this situation. I asked the girl who answered the phone if the LAB DOCTOR was able to find the prescription that I need from the 5-6 other locations. She promptly said yes the LAB DOCTOR called and NOBODY had my prescription and that they may receive it today it their DELIVERY but if not I had to wait the 10 days. I demanded a refund and she said come down with a tone that had a who cares attitude. I then called 10 minutes later and said I would wait for the delivery to see if they arrived, but nobody could give me an answer about what time that would be. I then went on to the LENSCRAFTERS SITE and called the 1st store on the list just to check. I gave the guy my prescription and after putting me on hold for a few minutes he returned and say YES WE HAVE THAT PRESCRIPTION and to come down and I will have them in an hour. So the PARKWAY PLAZA LOCATION just flat out LIED to me and never even called. I drive down to get the refund so I can pay for the glasses at the MISSION CENTER LOCATION only to be told that they do not have enough cash in the drawer to give me my money. I paid CASH and they would have to send me a check that would take 7 days. No way am going out of pocket almost $500 for these glasses. WHAT A JOKE. The guy called the MISSION CENTER STORE and they just made my glasses. I hope the PARKWAY PLAZA STORE does not get that sale as they FAILED in everyway possible. I am posting this review to prevent customers and families from dealing with Sesy the manager. She asked me to leave and come back because she was too busy, promised that she would remember my place in line. When I came back she made me wait 30 min while helping others. She knew I came to have my two kids measure for glasses but did not tell me their digital system was down until I sat down with her and she said she would do it manually -unless I Want to come back another day. I couldn't believe it, after having waited 1.5 hour. Christina is the best and Lisa seemed very nice but unfortunately Sesy brings the whole store down. I have never had such poor service. read more

Horrible Customer Service. They have very expensive options that are not as good as the eye MD I used to see. Less quality for more money. Awful customer service. Messed up my first set of lenses so had to come and get them replaced. Called and said it would take 20 minutes. Walked in and there were no customers around at all. Front desk person says it will take an hour. I mentioned the twenty minutes I was quoted . She says to me "it is just me and one other guy." Several employees sitting around talking about other events. Very rude. Will never come here. Please do not waste your money on this cheap crap. And horrible service to match. Horrible experience. The blonde doc wrote me a prescription that was too strong. My new contact lense prescription had my perception all off and made me dizzy. The frames to my new glasses were crooked and they couldn't fix it. I had to get re-examined. They wrote me a new prescription duplicating the prescription from my old glasses. Really?? They advertised 30 day money back guaranteed, but it was like pulling teeth to get my glasses right.... The guy in the front with tattoos on his wrists is a jack-ass. He reminds me of the character Ethan Hawke played in Reality Bites. The guy acts really polite, but he thinks he's smarter than everyone else and if you complain about your prescription he will make it seem like you are over-reacting. Oh and he mutters philosophical quotes whenever he has the opportunity. Like I said JACK-ASS. Horrible experience at this location. They messed up my prescription so I had to come back. I schedule it for 11 I wait 15 min in line at front desk. Then they seat me tell me to wait for dr. Then they say my appt is at noon. I tell her no I put it in my calendar at 11. This was after she already checked me in and I had been sitting for 10min. I say no I have another appt at noon I know I schedule it at 11. She says ok the dr will be right with you. Dr comes out and so do patient then she takes in the guy next to me. I'm still waiting. 15 more min go by no one acknowledges me so I see the lady who checked me in and I say do you know how much longer it will be? She says well your appt is at noon and the dr is just finishing up with a patient. I say no she just took someone new in she says yes your appt is at noon. I mean if someone says the dr is just finishing up doesn't that imply you are next? Apparently not at this local and they are never wrong and never apologize or even thank me for waiting. The customer is always right doesn't apply here! Not to mention they all look like they just rolled out of bed so it's hard to tell who works there and who's a customer. wow, it seems I had a completely different experience than previous reviewers. everything went well for me; great, even. the 'jack ass' as aforementioned in the first review was not at all snotty. though his humor is a little off beat, he's still an extremely pleasant person. the doctor who examined me was very professional and friendly. both of them were eager to help me any way possible and definitely succeeded. I honestly couldn't ask for a better exam (with the exception of it being free!), and I'm happy to return to this location in the future. read more

Can I Just say, that If you want a long term of continues good customer service, then this store is not it. I went there to get my glasses done, everything went well, very nice helpful, and gave me all the information I needed. However, 2 weeks into having my new glasses, and I was still having trouble adjusting, so I went back to check them, I got checked after 2 hours waiting, best yet, any new costumer who was coming after me, they got to go in before me. it wan't until my fiancé was irritated, that they apologized and let me in to see a doc, the doc said that the material of the lens is what's causing problem, suggested that I talk to one of the experts in the store "the expert" was so anxious to get ride of me, and make more room for the new costumer waiting. For over a year i have had a stressful journey with my glasses (rimless frames from RayBan). The lenses kept coming apart from the nose piece (four times). Each time they gladly repaired them; however enough is enough. It happened again (fourth time). I called and told them i would be there when they opened. I was not happy when I made that call. I also emailed the home office and got a reply in the morning saying that they would chat with the manager in 2-3 business days. I responded that that was not satisfactory and I suggested that they contact the el Cajon manager immediately. Apparently they did because I was met at the counter at 10:00 and she started resolving the issue even before we exchanged greetings. They repaired my rimless glasses so I would have a backup pair and then they comped me new frames and lenses to my satisfaction. That was good and fair customer service.. read more

I adored Christina and Lachelle's customer service. They saw my need and met it in under 5 minutes...literally. I work for the hotel industry and it is mandatory for me to be able to see what's on my computer screen in order to accommodate our guests. I told them I need glasses by today because Walmart and West optical or whatever they are called told me that I have to wait two weeks..ha! As soon as I walked into the store, Christina directed me to the hot deals and helped me choose between two glass frames and immediately took the frame and my prescription to the back. My Rx was correct! Price no problem! New glasses were ready in one week, not bad! Customer Service is where this place is very irregular; Rochelle and James are specially bad. I needed a small adjustment on my new frames, I went there today. The store was empty and when I asked Rochelle for help she plainly refused the service to me. She rudely goes "Do you have an hour to spare", she asked knowing very well what was she doing. When I politely noted to her that the store had no customers waiting at that time and that she wanted to make me wait for an hour she said "That's what we quote even for a small frame adjustment on new frames still under warranty". Do not order glasses from this establishment. I have been waiting now for 5 weeks for my glasses. The "central lab " keeps lying about my glasses being " in transit". The employees are trying to be helpful , but obviously the company is not run well and they cannot deliver. I ordered these glasses Nov. 17 and it is now Dec. 20 and I was told they will be in on Monday. They have told me 4 times that they are in " transit" and then backtrack. read more

I've been getting my glasses here since I was 18 and will continue to return every year! Doctor tam is amazing and incredibly through as well as his associate doctor, whom, did what I think may be the most through contact lenses follow up I've ever had. I had the joy of working with Dhurgham who opening my eyes to the world of glasses lol. So my RX is high but I also don't like spending money, I mean who does right? But I was always getting the cheapest pair I could and I would never actually like my glasses which is why I'd just buy contacts. Once he explained to me what the difference was between the cheaper pair and the doctors recommendations I FINALLY understood why I had always hated my glasses. Now I didn't get the full recommendation like I said because who wants to spend money. But after talking about what I would want out of my glasss we found a pair and a price that worked for me while also getting some of what the doctor told me to get. So about 2 years ago I purchased prada prescription glasses and revived an eye exameverything went well and i was pleased.I paid full price for evrything it totaled to about 600$ I broke my glasses not bad but they were sliding off my face so I give them a call and they say bring them in well fix them in an hour ! So I came down to parkwayplaza asap thinking awesome ill be able to wear my glasses again..I'm walking around the mall on a time slot I had to be somewhere as soon as that hour was up so I wanderd around aimlessly and revived no call After an hour..so like any person would do I walk back to the store and question my glasses they return them to me more broken then they were in thr first place not only were they not able to fix them but they wasted my time and now I can't even wear the glasses!
