On Friday, July 18, 2025 , I drove over to the Walmart Supercenter Store to get my prescription Eyeglasses repaired one of the frames has fallen off due the screw was really loose every time I would be wearing my eyeglasses for reading different kinds of things. I arrived at the Walmart Vision Center at 11 AM that day. I asked one of the woman who work in this office. How much would she charge me to tighten up one of the screws on my Prescription Eyeglasses Frame? Stephanie told me she would charge me $3.98. Stephanie also asked me where did I get my Prescription Eyeglasses made and did I order them from their Vision Center? I told Stephanie No I ordered the Prescription Eyeglasses from the Walmart Vision Center in Oceanside, CA because I was still living in Oceanside last year in 2024. Then I had to move over here to San Diego, CA. Then Stephanie said if I had the Vision Service Program, (VSP) Insurance on my Prescription Eyeglasses then my simple repair would have been paid for by my (VSP) Vision Service Program Insurance Company. I said okay. Stephanie asked me if she could help me with anything else today? I told her Yes and said I need to buy a hard Eyeglasses Case And I also asked Stephanie , What kind of Eyeglasses are good for easing the strain on my eyes when I am text messaging people on my Apple IPHONE XR? Stephanie sold me the z burgundy eyeglasses case for $5.98. Then Stephanie said to me to buy their Blue Light Over The Counter, (OTC), Eyeglasses. This pair of Eyeglasses will filter out the Blue Light that occurs when I am using my Apple iPhone XR to read my electronic mail everyday and when I have to accomplish things every day. I said it sounds like a great idea. I also bought one pair of these Blue Light Eyeglasses including the soft case for the price of $15.00. My Prescription Eyeglasses I paid the price of $230.00 was my total purchase which I bought at the Walmart Vision Center in the Oceanside, CA location. After Stephanie rang up every one of my items then I asked for her business card. Stephanie gave me excellent customer service in helping me with my eyeglasses and my eyeglasses case purchases. I've been going to Walmart to have my glasses made for years at least 20 years and recently I went somewhere else I went online to z e n n a and ordered a pair of glasses for the same features that I got from Walmart they were much cheaper at zenna and the quality was amazing I did not know after all these years that the quality of lenses that I was getting was substandard until I went somewhere else I've spent a lot of money at Walmart on glasses the last pair I bought cost me out of pocket $400 ($100 of that was an overcharge which I had to fight to get back) and the quality of the lenses don't compare to a much cheaper lenses that I got from zenna so please please shop around cuz Walmart quality of lenses is substandard read more

After waiting a month with no updates on my contacts order, I encountered rude and annoyed employees each time I checked on my order. Even the manager, Sandra, was very mean and unhelpful, refusing to provide any useful information. I asked if she could track my order, provide an estimate arrival date, provide compensation, anything to give me insight or clarity after a month of waiting, and she would refuse giving any help. She told me they had a costumer who had been waiting over 100 days for their contacts so I would not recommend buying contacts from here. Not only will they most likely take forever to arrive, you will be treated terribly in the process if you have any questions or concerns about it. Only Katie showed good customer service and was actually kind. The employees' blatant lack of courtesy, both over the phone and in person, was shocking to say the least. I understand not having control of when the contacts arrive, although the attitudes and straight up unprofessional behavior was uncalled for. read more

I bought a pair of sunglasses and reading glasses at Sunglass Hut. Then took them over to the Vision Center at Walmart to have prescription lens put on. The associate, Cristina, is the definition of great customer service. She went out of her way to contact Len's Crafters for a quote of what I previously paid when I had purchased prescription lenses with them. I ended saving around $200 for the exact same lenses at Walmart. She really is there for the customer when it comes down to what you need and gives great suggestions. I had such great customer service today, I have to write a review. If you need fancy glasses at marked up prices, this is not the place to go. But if you need a solid pair of glasses at a low price or contact lenses, this is the place. On my latest visit, I came in to order contacts. The staff greeted me, sat me down, and then did the routine of calling insurance, etc.... but before I bore you, this is when the customer service came in..... The wonderful lady who was helping me get my contacts recommended that I buy a certain amount of contacts so that I could save a significant amount of out-of-pocket money. It was a little bit complicated, and she was patient enough to explain it to me several times. However when she went to get the lenses, she realized they were out. I ordered the contacts (a week or two to come in), and she quietly went next-door to the eye doctor and got me a couple pair of lenses in case I ran out before my contacts came in. I didn't even ask her to do this. Overall, again, my experience here was great. read more

I came here today with my stepdaughter to pick up her contacts. The staff are efficient and friendly and the shop was clean an organized. It is a full vision center located inside the Wal-Mart Store. I have been a patient at this optometrist for about 5 years, i just called there because something flew into my eye and is pointing into my eye so every time I blink it gouges my eye, its been an hour since it flew in, i tried to rinse it first. I asked if he could see me and told them it is already down to about 20 % sight out of it so it is bad. They said he is seeing his last patient so i would have to go to the ER. I asked them to please go ask him again, because my co-pay on the ER is $2500, and I can't afford it right now. They went back and asked him and he said no sorry I am seeing my last patient of the day, so what happened to the Hippocratic oath I could lose my eyesight and that I over this and I could be there in the next five minutes and he's going to be there at least another half hour and he'd rather go home then save my vision in my eye and I can't see well enough to drive even but I was willing to try to mot pay 40 times what i would pay him, at the ER I would have to pay about $4000 when he's there and he won't see me. I won't be going there again ever for the vision center or the doctor. But I thought that they were supposed to do no harm he'd rather get off work I could've been there in 5 minutes and it would probably take him on second and he's not willing to see me I just can't believe I could lose my side over it because it still gouging into my eye i had tje money to pay him just mot the ER. read more

I am not really much of a yelper, don't ever bash any businesses, but do attempt to remember my Yelp password to leave a review when someone goes above and beyond in providing awesome customer service. As you can tell by my poorly written essay, this is one of those cases. We were helped by a vision center associate by the name of Sandra. Sandra was super nice, cool, bubbly personality, and very helpful (this was probably years ago lol i said I wasn't much of a yelper). Next eye exam we chose to go to a competitor just around the block (only because of some promo sale). Not going to say the name of the business, but lets just say, we will never be going back to that WORLD again...cough cough. So like the prodigal son, we returned to Sandra at the vision center. And like every encounter we have had with her, it was a great one. Except this time, she was a store manager (if i am not mistaken). Glad to see a company take notice in what they have, but they should probably give this girl a raise before she is poached. Sandra definitely won over our business, and me and my girl are blind as bats, making us a pretty nice catch for an eyeglasses place. In all seriousness though, i do not know Sandra personally, but i do know she is great at what she does, and provides awesome customer service and should be recognized for it. Showed up to my 1pm appointment for my vision check. Everything went smoothly except for the fact that I thought we were in the Artic, it was really cold! I spent a few moments after filling out paper work looking at "Highlights" magazine and turned straight to the hidden items page. I still love that magazine! I wanted to take it with me, but that's not cool. After having my eyes dilated I was taken next door to have a seat. A man named John welcomed me and asked me what glasses had I decided on. I honestly had no idea what he was talking about. He was a very fast talker and I felt like he was not understanding that I couldn't see. I told him I had not picked a pair out, yet. He walked me back next door and I sat to wait in this freezing room. It was only moments before the doctor came to finish the eye test. I was then walked back next door. I was hoping the girl would be helping me, but nope, it was John again. This time we were formally introduced by the eye doctor. The conversation started with me saying "honey, you are talking waaaaaayyyy too fast. Slow your roll. He laughed. I wandered around a bit trying them on to see if I look cute in them. And no. That is not a girl thing. The struggle is real " #cuteeyeglassesproblems" So, I found two really cute ones that I liked and John had to remind me that progressive (glasses that have distance vision on the top and reading on the bottom, but without the lines showing) glasses needs a bigger space. I finally found two and could not decide which I liked better. Then John showed me the price for one. My insurance only pays 20% of it, I pay 80%. It was over $600. Pick your jaw up off of the floor. John then advised me that if I purchased two pairs of glasses one with all of the fixings and the second pair just for distance that would knock the bill in half. While I was sitting there about the amazing customer service I said "I think your customer service is amazing, even if you do talk too fast" and we laughed. He asked me if I have ever heard of Yelp. I was laughing so hard inside while this sweet young boy was telling me how awesome Yelp was, and how excited he was because this year he got his elite badge! Awesome sauce. . I could no longer contain myself. I pulled up my profile and showed him mine. We had a great laugh because he said he had recently read some of my reviews. We both laughed and then I cried inside while paying my $300 something bill. I came in a stranger but felt more like a friend when I left. Great customer service John! Great prices and a decent, although not extraordinary selection of frames. What does stand out is their customer service. Everyone I have worked with over the last 5 years (Sandra most recently)has been friendly, fast but thorough, and extremely polite and professional. I should add that the last 2 pairs I got lenses made for included my own frames that I did not buy there. They sent them to the lab and the lenses were made and installed without issue, even though I was told they could not be responsible for any breakage if such occurred. Fair enough, to my mind. They will always try to solve any problems completely and at minimal cost. Great group. I keep going back year after year. read more

I was a regular patient for several years before I moved out of state. I return often to visit family and attend functions which happened recently when I got a small tear in one of my contacts. I didn't bring a spare as this rarely happens, and i called the optical dept to see if I could purchase a single contact. I have mono- vision and can't see without both contacts and the office refused to help me in spite of this being an emergency situation. I was shocked!! It's not like I was a stranger walking in from the street, but a former patient. I will never go back there again nor will I ever recommend anybody to go there. I have my eye exams done at COSTCO. I had a pair of ray ban wayfarers, took them to about 6 different places and all refused to put clear lenses in my sunglasses, they said "cant use your own frames, have to buy here" anyways the 7th place was wal mart lemon grove, they said no problem! was surprised to find they have a very wide selection of ray ban sunglasses. was a bit expensive, 120 to put lenses in my frames, insurance, anti-glare because of astigmatism. payed cash since i do not have eye insurance. however, due to the difficulty finding a place that will do "custom" eyeglass work, I would highly recommend this location! read more

Excellent service :). Great people working there. After turning 40 years, i realized there was something odd with my sight :( so i went to a different eye exam place first, and it felt i was so out of place, kind of cold treatment so i left. As soon i arrived to First Sight Vision Center, the girl there was so understanding, she saw i was feeling lost so she walked me thru the process and took me to the other area where the actual eye exam is. Also very pleasant experience there, the receptionist was so warm and patient with my questions. The eye doctor man was simply the best explaining what was going on with me and he was a very charming old man. Overall i would describe this place as caring, efficient and affordable. The waiting time for the glasses is 7 to 10 days but, i can handle that. Go there, great service. read more

Always friendly when im there despite the abundance of customers. They seem extremely short staffed. With the few people that are there i always get great customer service if i wait. Decent selection of glasses for youth and elderly. Usually get them with in 2 weeks as well. Ive bought 2 pairs so far. They occasionally have a student doing an internship learning in there but i usually only see 3 full/part time employees. They need help but they're great people. Only complaint i would have is they're always busy but that just means they're gonna try and get us out faster read more

Took my glasses into get my new prescription and told them they had the wrong phone number on file because it was my mother's. I wrote my number down, crossed out my mother's and yet they STILL called my mother. When I called to ask if they had come in they rudely told me they called me on so-and-so day. I'll admit my mom doesn't have the best memory, but I don't think it should be her responsibility to call me at college to let me know my glasses are in. Anyways, I got my glasses and found out they put my old prescription back in. They agreed to put the new prescription in after arguing on the phone with them for +15 minutes. When I returned them Sandra made it clear she was not happy about the situation. Tried my luck a second time when I came in for my contacts. Called to see if they came in a few weeks later and they told me they would call me back after she finished with her customers. An hour later I called back after no call and (surprise) Sandra rudely replied she was still with customers... What am I? Chopped liver? She NEVER called me back. I am so upset with the customer service at this Vision Center and will not be trying my luck with them a third time. read more

They are getting one more star then they deserve. The people that work there are incompetent & that's putting it mildly. I dropped off my glasses over three weeks ago & they said they would be back in 5 days. I called last week & they told me that the UPS truck was broken into & my glasses were stolen. It would be a strange excuse at any rate but a year & a half ago they told me the exact same thing! So that must be their go to excuse for not doing their job correctly. I dropped in on Monday & I talked to a guy I hadn't dealt with before & he told me my glasses had only been ordered a few days prior. It was the same day I was given the UPS robbery excuse. Just now I called & was told that they had an emergency & she would TRY to call me back before they close. I only go here because it's fairly close to my house & I have a warranty. DO NOT USE WALMART VISION ON COLLEGE AVE. The Eye Dr. was okay, BUT I wanted to get my glasses from the INTERNET, because they were cheaper. Well the people in the FRAMES DEPT. didn't like that I wasn't going to get my glasses from THEM, so when the Lab from the Internet called to verify my prescription I sent from the Dr. they gave them the wrong numbers. I went back to confirm my prescription from my Dr., and when the lab called again, they again gave them different numbers, to mess up my prescription. DO NOT GO THERE EVER. You can't trust them.
