Mom's glasses being fitted
Kat C.

Mom had the best eye experience of her life! Katie was so kind and treated mom like family. She helped mom pick out every specification on the glasses. She was patient and explained everything including pricing options for going through insurance and their promotions. Mom said the eye exam had much better technology than other places she had been, including eye imaging and choosing prescriptions. She has always gone to independent places and not had the best experiences, and she is so glad she tried LensCrafters! She said she will never go anywhere else. Although they have a great selection of frames at all price points she ended up with... 3 pairs of Tiffanys! Thanks, Katie and LensCrafters!!!

Gate closed 1/2way at 6:53pm

Their hours are clearly listed as 10am-7pm, apparently it's okay to close earlier than that. Gates were closed over 10 minutes prior to opening. Will take my business to the one in Carmel Mountain, as they are actually open during their listed operating hours. Absolutely ridiculous.

I had great service from Christopher at this location and found a good selection of men's frames and lens options. Prices were good. We were in and out in under an hour.

This is a well known brand. They are broke.

I have gotten three pairs of glasses in five years at the Escondido Stanton Optical. The first time…read moreI brought in my prescription from Kaiser because I couldn't find what I wanted. Fortunately, this Stanton has a contract with Kaiser for discounted pricing--even better than I could get at Kaiser's optometry group. I got lenses and a new frame for less at Stanton than lenses alone at Kaiser. Also, the second and third times I used the optometrist on-site, which is more convenient than scheduling with Kaiser. I have a complex prescription and am long past being able to wear cheap plastic lenses and bargain frames. Nick, the manager, has always been helpful about walking me through various frame and lens options, and following up when I have come in to get my frames readjusted a couple of times.

I walked in because the giant sign on the door says "2 pairs of glasses + eye exam for $79." Sounds…read moresimple, right? Nope. I already have Ray-Ban aviators with prescription lenses and just wanted to replace the scratched lenses. Not a new frame. Just lenses. The girl behind the counter immediately throws out "$200." No explanation. No questions. Didn't ask if I wanted anti-reflection, polycarbonate, glass, nothing. Just $200 like she pulled the number out of thin air. I asked how she calculated that price. She couldn't explain it. That's basic customer service 101. If you sell optics, you should understand what you're selling. Customer service attitude was cold and dismissive. At one point she even told me I was "yelling," which is nonsense. I was asking normal questions any customer would ask before spending money. They do have a lot of frames, but honestly most of them feel cheap, like $20-$50 quality. That explains the $79 promo -- it's all about pushing budget frames, not helping people who already have quality glasses. Not a complete disaster, but definitely not professional either. If you value real service and knowledgeable staff, you're better off going somewhere like LensCrafters or a proper optical shop. Stanton Optical feels more like a discount factory than a place that actually cares about your eyes. Hmmm no buenooo...

I have serious concerns about how they maintain patient information; its a borderline HIPAA violation. They require numerous forms be filled out, many duplicative; and you might consider having an Attorney review them before signing them and waiving so many of your rights. Despite filling out the forms online before the visit, the practice still requires you to sign more forms when you arrive and it seems the staff there has no way to retrieve them. So basically, your private information is out there somewhere unknown, and you have no idea how it is being used and who really has access to it. You should realize, EyeLux is a big corporation. Because of her outstanding service to her patients, I suggested to her that she seek another practice, or that she open her own office, rather than work for a company that requires you to waive your rights as a patient, asks repetitive questions, and doesn't appear to have any answers as to where your private information resides. That is why I suggest you avoid EyeLux.
