I walked in so excited that it was so close to home and preferred with EyeMed and weekend hours! I was also excited to order eyeglasses too based on their large glass collection I was looking mg forward to setting an appt in the future. I just needed to order contacts and had already had my eye exam. The girl/lady that was the one that was supposed to help me order the contacts was probably the rudest person I have ever dealt with. I was there maybe 5 minutes and within that 5 minutes the lady made three mistakes, and then didn't admit fault and then tried to blame it on me. She tried to tell me that my prescription wasn't valid only to tell me it was, she tried to tell me that my eyes weren't the same prescription-even though they have been for 20 years and wouldn't give me two boxes for a 6 month supply, she was trying to convince me that I was wrong and a 6 month supply was more than two boxes....then she spelled my name wrong and blamed it on my prescription where it was spelled correctly. Then when I told her that I was as just going to cancel my order, she flipped out on me started yelling at me and told me to leave when she was the one raising her voice at me. I told her she was at work and she needed to do better. Sadly I got to tell the Dr what a horrible interaction I just had and he was honestly so nice, patient and kind. It's too bad I won't be able to work with him because I will not be going back. No one deserves to be treated that way. All I was trying to do is order contacts. read more

Well for this place, I sort of wish there were ZERO stars! The manager Gary was great when we first were in, since then he is nowhere to be found, completely MIA, and the employees don't know, or won't tell you when he will be in. For all the rest of the employees there, well they are completely inept, they don't know their own policies, won't go an extra inch to help. These guys would not sell me reading glasses without a prescription. Reading glasses! I told them I could buy reading glasses at any gas station supermarket, or Home Depot without a prescription. I'm not normally one to write reviews- but had to share my experience! When visiting family on this side of town- my glasses broke on a Sunday afternoon. Upon going to multiple stores- and those stores not being able to help- I found LensCrafters here at San Tan. Walked in to one of the nicest opticians (did not catch his name, but wish I had) who was able to assist me on getting my glasses fixed. LensCrafters lost mine and my husbands business for good because of a so called doctor refused to service me because I didn't have a mask on. I was treated very well by the receptionist and the assistant but when this OD came in he gave attitude right away and told me I needed to wear a mask and I said I can't due to health reasons... this OD said I have been a doctor a long time now and I don't know too many health reasons why you can't wear a mask and then preceded to ask me what it was. I said Um first off you're not allowed to ask me that and I asked so you won't see me if I don't put a mask on and he said yes, then I said even when my temperature was taken and no fever and or any symptoms at all... He gave me such attitude and said yes- I then got up and said well I guess I'll leave now and I walked out to tell my husband and my husband said well then I guess he isn't seeing me either... We ended up finding someone that didn't require either one of us to wear a mask and look at pic of how much LensCrafters lost out!! Someone really needs to have a talk with this OD and have him step down from that pedestal. I live across the street so this place was very close and was my first time using LensCrafters. Appointment went fine got my contacts and glasses. Only bad part is I bought contacts and glasses and it found it weird that the glasses didn't come with some sort of lens cleaner spray. Every other time I've bought glasses or contacts you get a travel case and solution or lens cleaner even if it's just a small travel size one. They do sell lens cleaner spray but just strange it didnt come with the purchase. People were friendly and staff was helpful with setting up appointments. read more

Honestly, the worst part of my experience was my doctor. I felt like such an inconvenience in his day. It felt like every time I asked, said, or did something, it was my own fault. I honestly thought nothing of it, because at the end of the day, I got my script and new glasses. It wasn't until my husband went for an evaluation a few days later that I found out that poor treatment and patient care was a part of the doctor's MO. The sales associates that provided me my purchase options were beyond helpful. The next time I get an eye exam, I will go elsewhere for my prescription, but I will definitely come here for frames and lenses. read more

Purchased new prescription sunglasses on 4/19/21. Service was excellent! I had been a customer for over 25 years. After 15 months, the coating on the sunglasses started to delaminate. I called the store and they said that it was after the warranty has expired and there was nothing they could do for me. I then contacted the company, and they also would not help me. I received two automated answers without any explanation or offer of assistance in replacement of the defective lenses. I had also purchased additional coverage and this of course had expired. Ironically, my wife had just purchased both glasses and sunglasses three weeks ago. We will be checking for delaminating on her glasses. We will not be doing business with Lens Crafters in the future. read more

They did recommend I see an eye specialist But he was not the regular eye person. I was told they accept VSP a lie since they couldn't find me then they charged me , refunded when they did. Turns out they lied. Yesterday for the first time I was told I owe them 200.00??! This is nuts. Never a bill. I went to them in December I was sent a coupon. Now I was told that I was informed? I needed another eye exam to get new glasses. My prescription had run out and the coating on my glasses was starting to come off. I made an appointment with the optometrist for a Saturday afternoon (the only time I had a vehicle to drive there). The doctor seemed very rushed and acted like he didn't believe me when I told him I had dry eye. I was in and out in under 30 minutes. I took my prescription to be filled, and selected a frame. The technician was helpful, but I noticed that he did not measure where my pupils were in the frame (I wear progressives). When I got my new glasses they seemed fine, but after wearing them a while I noticed I was unable to focus when I tried to read something. I had to raise my glasses up about a 1/2 inch so I could focus better. I returned to the store and spoke to a different tech that gave me a business card for a place that could give me nosepieces to raise my glasses up. I haven't had time to go there yet, but I am thinking this is a cost I shouldn't have to pay. These glasses were $400 and I can't use them to read. If I wear them for longer than a couple hours I have blurry vision and can't get rid of it for the rest of the day. I am not happy with the service here and I will not be going back. read more

This Lenscrafters is a bit hit-or-miss. Sometimes I go in for an adjustment and they do a great job, other times I end up with the nose pads causing pain. This visit seemed to go well. No far the adjustment seems to have been good. If you are getting new glasses their selection seems more limited than some of the other locations. If this one is closer it's worth a try to see if they can help you. read more

I'm sad for having to do this, but I feel that it needs to said for the sake of you who's considering giving this location your business. This was my 1st time at LensCrafters. Considering the location, I was thinking I'd be getting some pretty amazing customer service. Wow, was I wrong. First off, the optometrist was wonderful and he's the only reason for 2 starts. I have nothing negative to say about my eye exam. Friendly, thorough , satisfactory experience. Now purchasing my glasses was a different story. The sales people on the floor seemed nice and friendly. I did feel as if there was quite a bit of confusion going on when I first walked in. But that's not what threw me off. The sales person I ended up with was very chatty and friendly up until the first lens option she offered was the most expensive high index lenses. I get it, it's a sales pitch. That's fine, however, as soon as I inquired about other options, my wonderful sales person changed immediately and became noticeably cold and indifferent. I thought it was very odd (until I read about their ridiculous sales goals that is....) It was a very confusing, difficult ordeal trying to get most for my money. It was as if I was guiding my sales person in how to guide me in my decision making. What the heck? So, I didn't buy your most expensive lenses so you decide to give me the cold shoulder? Really? Instead of educating me about their options, I had to figure out WHAT to ask so I can make both financially and practically intelligent decision. I was disappointed over one sales person's poor customer service practices that will cost LensCrafters my and my husband's future. I needed some new glasses and also wanted to check on getting some new prescription lenses for my Oakley sunglasses. Since around 2014 AD I started using Yelp reviews as my key research application to find restaurants, activities and shopping options; peer reviews are the most honest in my opinion. Sometimes only the negative, angry people leave reviews, so I consider this as well when Yelping around. I chose this location even though, as of this review, it only averaged two Yelp stars out of 25 reviews. (This review will be their 26th review). The reason I went ahead and checked this location out was because it was close and convenient. When my wife and I arrived on Saturday, 27 August 2016 AD in the early evening, we were greeted immediately. There were about 8 people in the show room with 3 Lens Crafters salespeople helping them. I brought in my own eyeglass prescription given by my doctor and wanted some Oakley clear lens glasses. This location had a great selection of frames, though most of them were pricey. After about 5 minutes I asked for someone to help me so they got one of the lens technicians from the back. The tech's name was Christian and he was extremely helpful. I was able to find what I wanted and Christian double-checked my vision insurance to make sure I had the appropriate coverage. I was asking about prescription lenses to replace in my Oakley sunglass frames and found out they were too expensive. I then asked about Ray Ban brand frames and lenses and was quoted the wrong price. When I went back a couple days later to get my glasses, a lady quoted me another price for the Ray-Ban brand lenses and they were also too expensive. I have to say, I don't mind paying the initial cost for cool frames but HOLY CRAP!!! Spending between $200.00 to $400.00 for REPLACEMENT LENSES is +INSANE!+ You could feed a small village in the 3rd world for that! Ridiculous! A buddy of mine at work put me on to a website that makes inserts you can clip behind your sunglass frames, to put your prescription lenses into - they are a TON cheaper! It chaps my buddles that consumerism and greed have become so rampant! Fight the power! Someone +PLEASE+ invent cool frames that people can afford! This location was friendly, clean, offered a great selection and was diligent on double-checking my vision insurance. I will give them 5 stars mainly to bring, "balance" to the other reviews; a fair amount of the reviews were from a year or longer ago. The price of the frames was high - so try Costco if you want cheaper frames, however, the lenses may cost about the same. I would return. read more

Heard mostly good things about Lenscrafters, nothing overwhelming. So decided to give them a try. New store opened at San Tan mall so it was close and convenient. The eye exam was fine, really like the Optometrist. The customer service on the store side, however, was not so great. They were courteous enough when we were choosing glasses. However when we were checking out the computer wasn't accepting the information that was being put in. The woman helping us said she didn't care if it took 20 minutes, she wasn't asking for help to get in their system. We were hoping it didn't take 20 minutes. Eventually she figured it out. The next thing that put us off was several days later, when we went back in briefly to have my glasses re-adjusted (they were a little tight). An employee took them, then said plainly, "just want you to know that if I break them, we're not responsible." Um, what? So, no, not the best of experiences for me and my husband. I'm surprised to see all the negative reviews for this place. I've actually only had great experiences here, both with the doctor & his staff as well as the folks who help pick out/fit glasses. I was the first in my family to come here for an eye exam after being disappointed with my prescription from another local eye doctor. I knew it just wasn't right for me and wanted a second opinion. Dr. Labroff gave an incredibly thorough exam. I am one of those weirdos who doesn't like going to the eye doctor, I was traumatized as a kid and have issues whenever anyone has to mess around with my eyes. Dr. Labroff was patient with me and determined to make sure I walked out of there with the right prescription. Sure enough my old one was way off - no wonder I was dizzy and getting headaches! Anyway, I was so impressed with him that I knew this would be the place to bring my son when he was ready for his first eye exam. Fast forward a couple of years and now it was my son's turn to get an eye exam. Dr. Labroff's staff was so wonderful with him. And when it came time to see the doctor he again was so patient with my son, even though he literally could not sit still in that chair. Once it was time for eye drops Dr. Labroff was gentle and had a very calm energy that made my son trust him and he had no issues whatsoever with this part! Now for the staff in the lens crafters section - they were awesome and made my son feel excited about wearing glasses! These folks are a young and fun bunch (some people on here say "unprofessional" but I totally disagree - life is too short to take everything so seriously)! They made the process of picking out frames and lenses easy and pleasant. I would recommend this place for all of your family's eye care needs. read more

I highly recommend the optometrist, Steven Labroff. He specializes in ocular diseases, low vision, & specialty contacts. Having had RK in the early 90's, Dr. Labroff is a godsend. However - my experience with the LensCrafters at San Tan for progressive glasses was a nightmare. Top of the line lenses & designer frames. $$$$ Twice the lenses were redone and both times the lens center was set so high, that there was scant distant vision. Despite constant return visits due to vision problems, dizziness, and headaches, no one caught the error. I spent almost a year with the frames having to be adjusted so low on my face that the frame top was almost eye level, plus having to tilt my head down to my chest to obtain some distant vision. Because my glasses were primarily set as readers, the magnification caused dizziness and nausea. It wasn't until I obtained a second opinion at another LensCrafters (Superstition Springs) that the error was detected, explained, and corrected in a new pair of glasses. As such, I would never order another pair of glasses from San Tan. read more

August 17, 2019 During my recent eye and vision exam with Dr. Stephen Labroff of San Tan Village Eye Care in Gilbert, AZ, it became evident early on in the exam, that as an optometrist he embodies several of the essential domains of a comprehensive eye exam: focus, working together, and movement. First, his sustained focus on the patient is superb. Second, in a collaborative manner, he listens to patients, and responds amiably. Third, as he reviewed certain test results that he was concerned about, he did not think twice about moving me to another exam room to re-administer tests himself. As a newcomer to his practice, I found Dr. Labaroff to be knowledgeable and confident, all the while remaining approachable and kind. He explains complex test results clearly, and uses visuals and charts to elucidate discussion. As I left the office, he even encouraged me to let him know how well the new prescription turns out. It has been said that when we describe what the other person is really like, we often picture what we want. We are looking through the prism of our need. That said, from my initial experience at San Tan Village Eye Care with Stephen Labaroff O.D., the picture is vividly clear - excellence abounds!! I don't like the physical location of the Fiesta Mall LensCrafters but I much prefer their staff at the Optometrist's office and the retail side. I don't recommend booking appointments here online for your eye exams. The Optometrist was VERY nice and so was his assistance, however the front desk staff for the Doctors side leaves something to be desired. Their area also looks messy and cluttered. After our exams (My daughter and I both had appointments) We choose frames and got everything ordered. The woman was perfectly nice and several people tried to help us with frames while we were looking, even offering pictures to do side by side comparisons with frames. After ordering everything, my glasses would be done in an hour and my daughter would have to wait 2 weeks. We went, had lunch, checked out the puppies in the store next to LensCrafters and came back. My sun glasses were fine, one small adjustment and my glasses were all good, it had been relatively painless, here was the kicker though, I was given a cheap LensCrafter case for my brand new glasses (the normal ones) and when I said I'd like a nicer case (I paid well over a thousand dollars for 3 pairs of glasses, when I purchase new glasses I expect a new case and I should get one) I was told they didn't have a case for the brand I choose. Hell, I will PAY for a case but I will have a better case, I'm not walking out with the cheap crappy case. So the gentleman that was adjusting my glasses went round and round with me about how the cheap case WAS in fact nice. I don't need to kick back I just want another case. I was given a better case, not one I'd have chosen, but I will take it. But he kept loudly stating that he'd make sure I left with a "Not crappy case" 5 or 6 times the lady who was looking for a case for me looked embarrassed that he was antagonizing and belittling my preference for quality when I paid for quality. They don't take my insurance on the retail side, I paid for my glasses with cash and may be reimbursed for some of it. Its not like this was a charity case and I should be grateful for anything that I get. I probably wouldn't have bothered with a review, however my daughters glasses have now taken the 2 weeks they said it would take and I'm a little surprised I ha vent gotten a call yet, so I will followup with them. Thinking about the whole ordeal makes me think that the Fiesta Mall Location is a better choice, even if its further and I don't like the area. read more

WORST experience ever. Receptionist was so rude, unhelpful and I've never experienced such poor customer service by anyone! When I asked to speak to her manager, she snapped at me and said he's out of town. I asked to speak to anyone, just someone who would help me. She said there was no one else I could talk to. When I asked to just get my prescriptions, she kept attacking me and wouldn't print them out. I asked her to please stop talking and print my prescriptions and her response was, "I'm not a child and I'll talk if I want to." Really? All the while, the staff and doctors are all walking by and absolutely no one offered to help me. I absolutely loved this location of LensCrafters! The woman who checked me in and checked me out was very nice. Then the woman who brought me back to the exam room was very nice as well. She did a little exam on me and I found out that if I were to go to the DMV I would fail the vision exam. THATS BAD!! Thank God I went in. The doctor who further examined my eyes was super nice. He gave me a very proper exam, probably the best eye exam over received. I got glasses that same day. The guy who helped me out to pick out glasses and get them fitted, he was super nice and very helpful. He showed me all the name brands and even name brands that were marked down but still very cute looking. He also showed me the specials you can get on the lenses. I bought some very cute Versace glasses, I also got my lenses with the thing that makes lights less brighter, it helps with driving at night which I definitely need!! read more

I will start this review by letting you all know that I indeed MADE AN APPOINTMENT! I needed a simple exam and new lenses/ frames. They let me know to be there 15 minuted prior to my appointment to fill out paperwork. I was 25 minutes early. When I arrived, the snobby man behind the counter told me they must have "pressed the wrong button" and deleted my appointment from the system. He told me it would be a little bit of a wait, but they would get me in. Needing my new glasses desperately, I decided to wait. One hour later, after I have seen numerous walk ins come in and out, I returned to the counter and asked what the status was. "You're next", he replied with an annoyed look on his face. Second hour, still no luck. THREE HOURS AFTER MY ARRIVAL...no apologies, no discounts, NOTHING!!! Do understand, my car was in the shop and was dropped off. I had no choice but to wait because I was in serious need of these glasses. They screwed up and instead of being respectful and apologizing and making some sort of a compensation, they made excuses and were totally rude. I urge you not to go here. There are wayyyyyyy less expensive eye Dr.'s out there who will appreciate your business. read more
