I would give this place zero stars if that were an option. The actual eye exam and doctor were perfectly fine -- my issue was entirely with the employees on the floor who assist with the glasses and customer service afterward. My daughter and I walked in and were not acknowledged at all until another customer came in several minutes later. After my daughter selected her glasses, we sat down and waited for assistance while there were three staff members on the floor, with only one actively helping a patient at the time. Despite us waiting over 20 minutes, no one came to acknowledge us, check on us, or offer assistance. Instead, the male employee began helping another female employee with her patient while a third staff member remained sitting at the computer. Another customer then finished browsing glasses and was immediately acknowledged and helped, even though my daughter and I had been waiting much longer. At that point, I asked for my daughter's prescription so we could leave. There was no apology, no acknowledgment of the excessive wait, and no concern shown whatsoever. The experience made us feel completely overlooked and honestly felt intentional. Again, the doctor was great, but the lack of professionalism and customer service from the floor staff completely ruined the experience. read more

I've used this business for 2 years now for my regular prescription changes and they do quality work and they are personable both the doctor and the front staff. This year I took advantage of a two for one special and eyeglasses with progressive lenses and they were so reasonable unlike any place I've ever shopped before. Absolutely horrible customer service. Carol w is absolutely awful. Came in to order more contact. Asked for a trial pair. And was told it was illegal. Not gonna go into detail by detail but long story short her ego took over vs actually trying to find a solution. Being a business owner my self I would highly recommend you take your business else where. Carol was not reprimanded for her mistake. I was gas lighted in a way to where they made me feel like I was wrong. One of the employees tried taking my side outside where Carol wasn't visible but I highly doubt that she was talked to in a way where she was corrected. The staff here will definitely team up against you with out even getting the full story. Take your money somewhere where you will be appreciated as a client. This is not the place to go at all. Before going in, I read some reviews. I believe in giving businesses a fair chance. Unfortunately, I should have stayed away. The front desk staff were unprofessional and unhelpful. They saw me browsing frames, and the doctor simply handed my paperwork to them without offering any assistance. The doctor also noticed I was dissatisfied but didn't apologize for the poor service. I went to the store market Street in Gilbert, Arizona. I did have to get new glasses and I got a pair of sunglasses and regular glasses when they went back to go pick up both prescriptions the prescription for my glasses. The lens were not right so they were supposed to sell it for a Rush and I still haven't got it back and that's what it is like April and now they're saying. By next Monday, but next a holiday so if I won't get it until Tuesday if I'm lucky and they never call me to let me know when my there when they said they'll give me a call and they never did. They never emailed me nothing just mum, and I won't do business with them again because it's taking supervisor but very helpful but the lab where they send it to is not very reliable. I'm kind of the I had was very helpful and the supervisor went to go pick sunglasses was very helpful but I told him thank you for making her a ride and not making me have to keep on going three times and so the supervisor of the Gilbert was really helpful and the guy that was a self person. I can't remember his name. Sorry it was a male and he did a really good job and he was very patient with me just the timing of getting things and not getting phone calls or emails to tell me when my order was in was kind of frustrating. Was attracted by the 2 pair of progressives for $199 walked out with one pair progressives for $435, a cheap fabric eyeglass case and no cleaning cloth. Unless you want to tape single vision lenses on your eyes with duct tape don't fall for this scam. read more

I was convinced to go 45 minutes out of my way to this very rude very rushed establishment. They don't care about people here at all it's all numbers. I picked out new frames last year and was told to come in January and then my insurance would cover it. they made an appointment with me. and had me drive all the way here even AFTER I made sure they still had my frames on file. Tell me then why I had to come all the way here and FIGHT with them to get them to admit what I had a feeling about was true and even though these frames just came out last year they were discontinued. THEY WERE GOING TO TAKE MY MONEY AND MY INSURANCE KNOWING FULL WELL THEY HAD NO FRAMES FOR ME. I have an unusual head regardless, I wasted two hours massive gas. On another note...if your mask fogs your glasses it will fog the equipment. Ask to pull it off of your nose during the parts of the stay when you have equipment on your face. They get it. Eyeglass World is on Cigna's website as an approved provider through EyeMed. I called to make an appt. I asked how long it would take for dilation, preliminary eye tests on machines, and eye exam. I told them I was not going to be purchasing eyeglasses at this time as I had an appointment with my retinal specialist in 2 weeks. He would be telling me if I qualify for surgery for epiretinal membrane removal, retinal detachment, macular hole, and cataract removal. I needed to know how long this exam would take as I needed to hire a Lyft driver since I cannot drive with cataracts after dilation. I was told to allow one hour for my appt. I allowed 1-1/2 hours just to be safe. I was then sent a 5 page detailed form to fill out online, which was already populated with former Nationwide Vision visit. I was called 3 hours prior to appt with them telling me they couldn't confirm my insurance. I gave them updated info. I arrived at 2:10 pm with an appt time of 2:30pm. At 3:05pm they told me they couldn't find me in their system and that it would be $79 for an eye exam in addition to $45 for machine tests and dilation. I called my insurance company and they said I do indeed qualify for coverage at this facility. They still denied it until Ins Company talked to them. At 3:10 pm the clerk told me that I should skip dilation and one of the machines and they could get me out of there by 4:00pm for my Lyft ride. I figured that since I am 75 YO, they thought I would go along with this substandard eye care. The nameless male manager could not understand why I was upset as I had to sit around for two hours for my ride and go home without having my eyes examined. I could not change ride pickup time as they require 48 hours notice. I also wasted a ride voucher with my insurance company, which are limited. Something is wrong with these people at Eyeglass World. They acted like I was too demanding. My needs were totally not fulfilled. No real apology, when all they offered was a partial exam. Dilation and machine tests were extremely important due to my severe eye problems. This is half-baked, blatant negligence on their part, especially since they did not put themselves in my position under these dire circumstances. Cutting corners when it comes to my eye care is totally unacceptable. I highly recommend you go somewhere else if you really care about your eye health. read more

Absolute worst customer support. They sold me on coming to them over my prior place. Then the Dr I saw convinced me to change my contact lenses to a different brand. I explained to Dr that I did not have any contacts left. I wore my last pair to my appt. They had to get taken out for exam and then got thrown out because they weren't the new lens. I went to Costco to order because they are way cheaper. The new lenses take 10-14 days (they are still not here) So I called eyeglass world for another sample box to get me by. I was told that they won't give me more samples that they don't even give them to every patient. I explained that I would not be in this situation if their Dr had not advised me to change my lenses as my others would come in 2-3 days. So now I am left with the one pair. They are a daily lens that are not meant to be worn multiple days. Their solution was for me to come in and spend hundreds of dollars to get new glasses made. I spoke to Carol & the "manager" Scott who said there is nothing they could do for me In regards to the contacts. But oh they'd gladly take my money for new glasses. Sorry I'm on a budget and cash pay I don't have hundreds of dollars to spend on contacts and glasses. Super inconsiderate. Wish I had gone somewhere else or back to the other place for way better customer service. I would not recommend going here. I should've known better from when I came in for my appointment and they were disorganized and the person checking me in didn't even know how to assist me. read more

This place is a hidden gem. There's a reason your looking and reading this review. Just like most of you, I've been to other eyeglass places including the ghetto "America's Best Contacts & Eyeglasses" just to name a few. It's those other places where they not only treat you with bad customer service, you can just tell they hate their job. So for that reason, you get attitude problem, your eyeglass comes back wrong when you pick it up and your stock with glasses that you don't ever want to wear. I am so happy I came here. I told them the horror I've been through and they're so surprise is to why people would treat you so bad. That's what I'm sayin you know. Anyways these guys not only helped me and my wife, but they made sure our insurance covered every last dime. Something other eyeglass places "like America's Best Contact" (more like "America's Worst Contact and Eyeglasses") couldn't help us with. These guys are amazing, they will help you, like literally help you cause you need it and not just one person but like everyone in this store. So if you're still reading this and have no clue where to go, trust me on this in the most big time way... come to this place don't go to other places or you will regret your decision, spend more money than you should, and feel guilty because you gave them your business and you just got screwed. I referred my boyfriend to Eyeglass world to have a eye exam done. After his exam he was told he needed reading glasses. He was up in the air about buying some but after speaking with Jared he was convinced he was making the right choice. My boyfriend explained exactly what type of glasses he needed for work and Jared assured him that he was making the right choice. He came back a couple days later to pick up his glasses and he realized that the glasses he received from Jared were not going to work for his profession due to him not being able to see far and only up close. Jared's response was "we could refund you" and he walked to the back. Then the manager SCOTT LENDE came to speak with us. He was no help at all. We tried explaining what the issue was and his response was "we explain single vision to all of our patients" I then told him "I'm sorry we are not eye doctors we don't know the difference between Single vision and bifocals" which he replied with "welp that must have been the problem" VERY RUDE! I was hoping he would be kind enough to just fix the problem and get us exactly what we needed but instead he proceeded with a refund. We had a fantastic experience at the Power Rd Eyeglass World. My son, who is on the autism spectrum, was very scared after having had a terrible experience at a competitor. Jarred, the amazing tech, made my son feel like he was just "hanging out" with a friend and hardly realized he was being examined. When we needed to adapt the procedure due to my son's anxiety, there was not a moments hesitation to accommodate. Eye exam was 6/17. Same day reading glasses was actually just an advertising thing. Can't actually happen. Inexpensive glasses? Nope. I Paid a total of $906.95 for two pairs of glasses. They said they would take 3-5 days. Now it has been 12 days. They tell me it may be a few more days. Extremely frustrating experience. Feel like this is a typical "bait-and-switch" mill that promises things they cannot deliver and advertises prices that are just not true. Avoid them. Go to Costco. Today Costco did an eye exam for me and I will have my glasses from them before the ones I ordered from Eyeglass World on 6/17/21. read more

The rudest staff I've ever encountered. Had an appointment for 10 and was asked to allow 15 min for check in. We arrive 10 min *before* our appt. and were met by a female staff member who decided to upbraid me for my tardiness. I guess it takes 15 minutes to enter a name and address in their system. She pushed papers at us and stated she'd get to us when she could. The waiting room was empty! I sat and listened to them chatting and laughing with each other in the lobby - still waiting. Finally I walked out. I will see a *real* ophthalmologist for my next appointment who employs medical staff. Horrible horrible horrible!!!!! If I valued give a negative star I would! Ian Hashu is rude and should be let go! I followed all mask protocol to the letter, the other guy who helped me said I could try and glasses and pull my mask down to see what they looked like and then pull my mask back up...no problem. However the rude Ian came over and said I was not allowed to do that. So you want me to spend $500 on glasses and not be able to see what they look like? You can keep your glasses, after years of going there you have lost a customer as well I hope it was worth it. Oh and you can keep your stupid safety protocol paper you tried to hand me, I am a grown adult and don't need your ignorant guidance. Get your protocol straight, one person says you can do one thing and then the brilliant Ian says no no no! Taking my business elsewhere good luck to Ian!
