I was VERY unhappy with my experience here getting a new contact prescription. I WILL NOT be coming back again. If I had an appointment scheduled somewhere else in the future and saw that dr I'd just leave. First off the trial contacts the dr gave me were the wrong prescription... I've attached a picture for reference/proof. Before I even left his office I put in the trial contacts, he looked at them with his machine while they were in my eye and he was like "oh they aren't even in the right place" after I said my left eye wasn't adjusting. He looked at it and didn't realize he'd made a mistake still. He also told me that it was only a very mild adjustment from my old prescription. Left eye went from 1.75 to 2.75 and right went from 1.25 to 2.75. So even though the last dr I saw thought I needed slightly different strengths on each eye, this dr didn't even pay attention to that and wouldn't do two different strengths. When I questioned it his answer was "well everyone has an eye that's a little fuzzy". What?? This is not one eye being "a little fuzzy". He changed the axis of my left eye by 4 which I think is why the new contacts for that eye will not stay in place throughout the day. It's back and forth, back and forth from where it needs to be. I asked for a recheck and when I got there the first thing he said was that I'd only be there for a second because he was sure he'd given me the right prescription. So he spent barely a second on each of the options for the strength of the prescription, I don't know what the machines are called so hopefully this makes sense. Just flipping back and forth after not enough time for my eyes to adjust even, same way he did the first time I was there. I kept asking questions and asking him to go back to this or that slide (again I dont know what it's called but it makes a slide sound when it's switched between options). I realized quickly he did not care and was not going to give me the right prescription. He didn't even change this prescription he just finally got annoyed and gave me a renewed version of my old prescription with the axis of 170 instead of my old 166. He claimed they don't even make contacts with that axis anymore. I bought contacts with that older prescription just last summer and had no issue with them. He claimed my eyes would adjust but it's been 3 months and my eyes haven't adjusted.

The service was fantastic and although the selection of frames is less than Lenscrafter's, Schaeffer still had a good selection to choose from. The thing that surprised me the most when I bought my glasses was the low price. Given Schaeffer's is not a nationwide franchise I expected the prices to be higher, but to my surprise they were much lower. So good service, adequate selection, and low price. Overall very good. Moving from last fall to today: I was working in the yard and a large piece of concrete hit my face and scratched my glasses. I went back to get a new pair and the lady checked my file and said the glasses were under warranty and they would order new lenses for me. What a pleasant surprise! Great experience again, but with hers she needed to come back for check of her contacts and that's when the service dropped. It should have been a quick check. I don't always do the testing but sometimes I do. Well, today I went back for it just to check on it. Dr. Kennedy interpreted the test results to me and said I had several high risk factors and wanted to prescribe a medication to prevent the development. I said I needed to think about this and asked for a summary of what she was telling me and a copy of the test results, just for my reference to think about. She got very offended and started raising her eyebrows at me, speaking in a stern tone telling me that that I should do what she was telling me because my doctor told me to. I simply wanted a chance to take a breath, research the medicine, talk to my husband, and make a decision. I'm not the type of person to decide something in the room with the doctor at the moment they say to do it. She told me she didn't have an email address associated with her practice and they would send the results to my primary care doctor at the time she was seeing me. When I told the girl at the front I didn't want to schedule a follow up (because after her reaction I definitely wanted a second opinion), because I was going to think about this and maybe ask another doctor, she immediately didn't want to help me anymore. I waited a few weeks to make sure my doctor and I got the information. After having to call, I got all my results emailed to me. Dr. Kennedy is a pushy doctor who doesn't respect patient boundaries.

Upon arrival, my first impression was concerning. While waiting, another patient left the office stating they had been waiting over three hours and that this was "the norm" every time they visited. Regrettably, my own appointment ultimately took approximately two hours, which appears to confirm that long wait times are a systemic issue. During my initial screening, I informed the technician that I cannot be dilated due to a medical condition. I also explained that my medical insurance has covered retinal imaging for the past three years at my previous eye care center as an alternative. I was told this would need to be checked. I was then sent back to the waiting room and, roughly 20 minutes later, brought to the imaging area. At that time, I was told there was no clear answer regarding coverage, but that the photos would be done anyway. During this interaction, Dr. Cash came in, examined my eyes, and instructed the technician to proceed with the photos. At no point during any of these conversations was I informed that I would be financially responsible for the imaging, nor was I asked for consent to proceed knowing there would be an out-of-pocket charge. Based on my prior experience and the information provided, I reasonably assumed the photos would be covered by my medical insurance as they had been in previous years. After completing my exam,which I would like to note was handled very thoroughly and professionally by Dr. Boyd,I was taken to the lobby to select glasses and check out. It was at this point that I was informed I would be charged for the imaging. When I questioned this, I spoke with the manager, Benja. Unfortunately, her response was rude, dismissive, and unwilling to explore any resolution or attempt to work with me regarding the charge, despite the lack of disclosure beforehand and the fact that the photos were ok'ed by Dr. Cash. Benja's attitude and refusal to assist were extremely disappointing and left me feeling disrespected as a patient. This interaction ultimately overshadowed the positive experiences I had with Jasmyn and Dr. Boyd, both of whom were friendly, accommodating, and thorough. This was my family's first visit to your practice, and due to this experience, we will not be returning. I have also shared this incident with family and friends who currently use or were considering your center, and they have expressed similar concerns about trust and transparency as a result. This outcome is unfortunate, especially given the strong recommendations I had received prior to scheduling my appointment. I believe patients should be clearly informed of any charges before services are performed, particularly when alternatives are discussed and prior coverage history is communicated. I called back and got a different person who was a little easier to understand, but it took way too long to make an appointment and the appointment time I chose could not be confirmed so she had to call the local office which put her on hold I was kept on hold and ended up having to change the appointment time. Too over 20 minutes on the second attempt, to schedule an appointment for an established patient. Absolutely frustrating.
