Extremely confusing to schedule. I booked online on the official LensCrafters website. I have VSP insurance which says LensCrafters is in network. After booking the appt. I called to go over insurance and they said VSP is out of network, apparently LensCrafters sub-leases to a Dr. Magalhaes and associates which doesn't accept the insurance. I feel like that is very deceiving to be using LensCrafters website and not have anything to do with LensCrafters except selling the frames for them. I brought in coupon I received after glasses were ordered and paid for, and it was honored and I got back almost $150. I went here for decades and for the longest time I was told I had astigmatism so my glasses were to help correct it. I often had headaches and eye pain year after year. If that wasn't bad enough, the last time I went to them they told me I was very close to having a detached retina so for these reasons I decided to go to a new doctor as well as an eye surgeon and was told I don't have astigmatism from the new doctor and shouldn't have been wearing glasses for it for the past 2 decades so I got new glasses without the astigmatism correction and the eye pain and headaches drastically decreased. Astigmatism doesn't go away so that means I was being treated over and over and over incorrectly which makes me so angry. When I saw the surgeon about the retina and was told it's not true. So yea I'll never go to them for eye exams ever again. Only reason I gave 3 stars was for the eye glasses section. They have a nice variety of choices, the workers are usually helpful and getting an entirely new pair of glasses within an hour or 2 is great compared to other places which takes a week or 2. read more

My eyes were bothering me so I came here over the holidays to ask for a favor for the optician to tighten my eyeglasses I purchased elsewhere back home. While the staff was friendly and gladly adjusted my glasses (hence 2 stars), the lab manager/optician (?) clearly applied heat near the bridge of my good quality anti-reflective high index lenses, causing the anti-reflective coating to "crackle". Oddly enough, she asked if my lenses were high index as she wanted to be careful with the heat. I didn't realize the crackling until I was on my way home. Obviously, there was nothing I could do about this as when you ask for this favor, they're not liable for any potential damage done. BUT if this is any sign of how they handle their own lenses, I would stay far away. I learned my lesson the hard way to only visit the optical shop that issued your glasses for adjustments. read more

I am so glad I swung by and took a chance on my glasses getting fixed as I wasn't sure who did that sort of thing. Boy was I sure impressed with the setup and team that LensCrafters had (North Dartmouth, MA). I was initially expecting that I'd have to drop them off and pick them up later or another day, nope, quite the operations and staff there, all very friendly. When I mentioned I could come back, because my dog was in the car... nope, bring him on in, we love dogs! Patricia (a brunette Lady Gaga) went to work on my glasses, rethreading the line to hold the lens in place, while my dog and I chatted up those who were lured in for pets. I was probably in and out of there in under 10-15 minutes.. too bad, could've hung longer and enjoyed the friendly company! read more

Had been a long time customer, but moved away to CA, where there was no LensCrafters nearby. So I bought my current glasses from a local optometrist in CA. Moved back to MA, and my glasses broke. Brought them to LensCrafters to see if they would fix them. 15 minutes later, all fixed, tightened and cleaned - for free. This is how smart businesses work. Great service with a smile. I'll be back when I need my next pair. Sure, they are more expensive than other places, but for someone who travels extensively, it's good to know there is usually a LensCrafters nearby when glasses need fixing or adjusting. Called ahead and they got me an appointment that day, as I need glasses ASAP! Was grateful for that. However, the receptionists are not approachable and friendly. Though I have not been treated poorly directly- I haven't been treated well either. In addition, I've been to this office several times and every s i n g l e time I overhear a receptionist on the phone she is giving the person an attitude, rolling her eyes, sighing and when she hangs up, there is always a remark! "God, so annoying." Anyway, I was seen by Renee, and she was FANTASTIC. I will be recommending her in the future. She was friendly, polite, personable, informative and overall put me at ease. She not only asked about my eyes, but my overall health. If the receptionists were as friendly as she was, this place would get 5-stars. Lenses in the actual LensCrafters are very pricey! I went to this location to get an eye exam and a pair of glasses as my old ones needed replacement. I had gotten a pair and after a few weeks my eyes couldn't adjust to them so I returned them. Mind you I paid in cash when I purchased the glasses. The place claimed they didn't "Have money" in the cash registers, which doesn't make sense considering I paid in cash and I am sure other people pay in cash also. If you take cash as payment you should also have cash in your registers. I didn't pay in a check when I got my glasses therefor I shouldn't have to wait for a check. Anyways, they said it could take up to two weeks but may very well be sooner, fair enough. It's been 3 weeks now and I still haven't received this check that was allegedly mailed to me, nor have I gotten anywhere on the phone with them either. Now they claim it will have to be re mailed considering it probably wasn't mailed to begin with, and that may take another 2 weeks+. I was going to go there and get a different pair of glasses after my eye exam was re taken to determine the cause of my eyes not being able to adjust to the current prescription, however now I will absolutely not be going back as the costumer service is very poor. I will not recommend this place to anybody unless you are CERTAIN that you will not experience any issues with your glasses, because if you do you will not receive a favorable outcome in a fair manner. I rearranged my schedule to make the appointment, but was told they didn't schedule it. No apologies were offered. There are so many other locations that offer eye care, choose them. My wife and I both bought our new frames and prescription lenses for reading at the North Dartmouth store for the first time. We had previously bought all our eye glasses at Costco and have no complaints about them, but thought we would save the drive by buying our new glasses locally. All the employees with whom we interacted at Lenscrafters were helpful as well as friendly and our new frames and lenses were ready for us within a few hours. Unfortunately, we both have to hold whatever we are reading (Books, Kindle, magazine, newspaper etc) very close to our eyes to be able to read the print with our Lenscrafters glasses. We both have had multiple pairs or prescription readers in the past and have been able to use them for both reading material or computer use, but our new Lenscrafters glasses have limited versatility and require us to read material so closely it is actually difficult to hold the item you want to read very long without feeling uncomfortable. I stopped wearing mine after about five uses. My wife still uses her's for reading her Kindle but never reads with them for as long as she does with her older glasses that have the same prescription. read more

When I got there both receptionist for the eye doctor were very rude, especially because my insurance does not provide me with an insurance card, like that's my fault? The Dartmouth location had one nice associate but the rest I had interacted with are more concerned with the immediate sale. When I came in to let them know my glasses had the incorrect base curve causing distorted vision they returned the glasses stating I didn't like the frames and neglected to inquire of the prescription. Calling the corporate offices is no better they will hang up on you if they can't substantially answer your question or, when you call back, ask you not to get upset and then interrupt you when you are trying to explain. The best part is when you ask for a supervisor and they state "a supervior is unavailable, they can't sit around all day waiting for a customer's call." For a moment I thought I was on a SNL episode. Seriously call them and listen for yourself 877-753-6727. It is obvious this ethnocentric company fosters such a hostile culture. BEWARE!!! I found a knowledgable professional at the BJs Wholesale in Middletown, RI and got my prescription filled for $198 instead of the $677 LensCrafters tried to offer! Ok, so here goes. I've been a customer of Lense Crafters for about 15 years. I went in to order a pair of new frames and the experience was good. Kevin did a great job locating them for me and shipping them in. I was supposed to get a call on Friday about frames, but I never did. I called for hours and nobody picked up. I decided to go there after work and see for myself. When I told head sales person on duty the phone was not working he didn't know, but some of the other dales girls knew and never said anything to him. When I presented the receipt to the salesman, he recalled the model coming in and said he placed them on counter. One of the other sales people took it from him ( unknown to him) and put it out on sales rack. He though he lost them but then I pointed them out on sales rack (as they were searching) and said, " it looks like someone put my order out for sale." I paid 200.00+ for those frames. He apologized and had the lenses changed in back fairly quickly. They completed frames were handed to me (never looked at them for adjustment). When I got home I noticed they never even cleaned grooves in lenses before installing them. So I had new frames and dirty lenses. Awfully executed after the initial order. I remember when the sales people had it together in there. I hate to say it but they were older sales people with attention to detail. All they have now is young salespeople that seem to have an interest in talking and not business. Bring back the older staff. They were bar none. I'm disappointed. Is it difficult for you to find a doctor that you can truly have confidence and trust in? Well, when I walked into Dr Magalhaes and Associates I have never had to go anywhere else. It has been over 14 years that my family have been clients of his. We have always found the girls to be smiling and warm even when having a difficult day. He has a warm and friendly personality and a willingness to help. He has great patients for children. It's so heart warming to see him interact with my son with autism. My mother who is from another state needed to be seen because of an infection and there was no problem getting her in. With the office inside LensCrafter's you can have your script filled with in an hour. He offers an exam for ChromoGen lenses that are very helpful for those with colorblindness and dyslexia. If you or someone else has issues with either of these its worth checking out. I suffer from extreme dry eye and his knowledge of this disorder has made opening my eyes up in the morning pleasant once again, as long as I follow his regimen of prescribed eye care. He will take the time to answer your questions or concerns. We have never found fault in the services or advice given. read more
