Great experience at Lenscrafters @ Meadowood Mall. Just switched jobs and my vision coverage kicked in.. set up an appt for my eye exam over the phone. Showed up several mins early to complete patient intake forms. I was greeted by Reina and Omar. I completed my forms with Omar's assistance and shortly after was escorted to the pre exam room where Omar was eager to answer my questions and then set me up with the eye doctor. Dr. Ha also was pleasant and comforting while conducting his exam. Super cool dude! Took a min to explain the changes in my prescriptions and answered my questions. We chatted for a bit and he then led me back to reception where Reina helped check me out. She then introduced me to Diana in the showroom and she help me get familiar with the brands, styles, and options. It got alittle busy in there and I took a little longer to pick out some frames so Diana got tied up assisting other customers.. when I was ready Reina stepped in to finish the order process and took time to explain all my options in detail..she made the process super easy and paid attention to my questions. She helped feel good about my selections, sized me up and I was done! I bought multiple frames for my prescriptions and was pleased with the servicea and experience. Not sure how good the Doctor's are. I heard good thing about this office so I figured I would follow the recommendations of my friend. I wanted to try the digital eye exam they advertise and I've heard about, but when I called the receptionist she asked me what do I mean by a digital eye exam. I told her this is the new way Dr's are giving eye exams and your office advertised it on your website. She just sat there in silence. I apologized to her for the confusion and said thank you and let her go. Guess I'll look elsewhere. read more

Diana was super nice and got me in and out quick when I picked up my glasses. The whole staff worked with me and my insurance.

Last year (summer 2019) a very close friend of mine was in desperate need of new glasses. Without corrective lenses she can not see. It would be considered a disability. She said she would like to go through LensCrafters to get her prescription filled. We shopped around online and came up with a decent set of glasses at a decent price with her insurance. We go to Meadowood location and all seems good. While my friend sat with one of the ladies working there, I went to get a couple coffee drinks. While I was away, the consultant managed to up-sell my friend nearly $300 AFTER insurance... I did not want to cause a scene, and it is what my friend wanted, so I paid it and bought the extra warranty/insurance. Not too happy at this point, but I'm very glad my friend can see! Move forward a few months (February 2020). My friend says she can't get her glasses clean. I take a look and I can see one of the lenses is severely scratched, cloudy, and kind of warped looking. I know immediately that there is no way of repairing this, so back to LensCrafters! Upon arrival, we explain the situation and the lady seems happy to help us out! UNTIL she realizes we want to have the lenses replaced under the warranty/insurance that I purchased from Lens Crafters. All of a sudden the lady can not find any information on my friend (customer) myself (purchaser), nor the original transaction. We wait patiently while the lady fumbles around on the computer. Finally we realize that the phone number associated with the transaction was an old number of my friends from years ago... which is funny because MY phone number was used for the original transaction. The lady tells me it will be an additional $25 charge ON TOP of what I had already paid. Maintaining my patience, I hand over my card, she tells us the lenses will be ready in about a week, and that they will call us. About 6 days later and the whole country closes due to the COVID-19 pandemic. I immediately think of my friend's lenses!! Going through something like this with very limited vision was frightening!! I call the Meadowood location and am promptly sent to an automated service that tells me the store is closed until further notice with no other information or direction. At this point, my blood begins to boil. I start looking up possible outlets for any information I can get... I find out that there is a 2nd LensCrafters location in our town and they are open very limited hours and for EMERGENCY appointments only... Now, from my point of view, I don't know how much more is needed beyond my situation before it becomes an "Emergency." At least in the field of Optometry... Upon calling the Lens Crafters Summit location, the first employee tells me that there is nothing they can do about anything involving the other store. Not the answer I expected, nor wanted... so I tell her I need to speak with a manager. I wait on hold and the manager eventually answers only to confirm that there is nothing that can be done... So here I am, with my dear friend who can barely see, a big dent in my pocketbook, and the company that caused it says there is nothing that can be done. The manager tells me that in 3-4 days she will be speaking to her boss (regional manager) and that I should call back after that. Again, patiently waiting. I call back on the 4th day, and the manager tells me that everything sent to the meadowood location was sent back to the regional distribution center. Once the lenses got to the DC, the workers at that facility would sort through all the packages, and send them individually to the customers address. Great, so I will get some bare lenses in the mail... then what? Continued... After a week, with no word whatsoever from LensCrafters, I called back. I am speaking with the same manager, and this time she is going to actually pull up the customer info and take a look. Once AGAIN she can not find any information on the transaction... going through this before, I gave her my friends old number from years ago, and what do you know, all the info pops up. So now that I have corrected this twice, I make sure she updates ALL the information, AGAIN. The manager looks through the profile and again ends up at the conclusion... there is nothing we can do but wait patiently. She tells me that my friend will receive an email confirming our address when the package is ready to ship. Back to waiting and my friend without eyesight during this crazy pandemic. A couple weeks go by, and there has been ZERO contact from LensCrafters. I call the Summit location. Same manager tells me the same thing... nothing she can do. BUT she is able to tell me her computer says the lenses have "shipped," but she can not tell me what that means. Shipped to my house? Shipped to DC? Shipped to her store? No idea... Now here I am more than 2 months after we initially tried to replace the lenses, and still no lenses. No email. No direction. No help. read more

This was my first experience with lenscrafters, I was in town on vacation and tore my only contact lens, and didn't pack glasses!! I ran over here and thankfully had an email copy of my prescription and the doctors were able to find some that would fit. Everyone was so kind and helpful, and the best part is that it only cost $20! Highly recommend them if you're local. read more

My husband recommended this place, so I went here and I took my kids here for our annual eye exams. Bought glasses for my son here, got a contact prescription which I got filled elsewhere. The doctor was nice enough. Flash forward a year. The prescription expired this month amid the coronavirus mess, and I went to reorder my contacts so that I have enough while on lockdown, and it wouldn't go through because their office didn't respond. I called the appointment line after placing the order a second time and waiting 2 weeks. They say they have no way to help me fill my contact order until I get another exam. However, even if I was bold enough to go out and risk coronavirus, their office is closed, so they can't help me. The scheduler Daisy says there is no way for them to contact the doctors. I find it hard to believe that in these exceptional times it would be impossible for a doctor to extend a prescription for a customer by a few days until the risk has passed, from home or wherever he is. F for customer service and I will remember this long after the health threat has passed and will be taking my family's business elsewhere. Also, Daisy put me on a long hold and then came back and acted like she couldn't hear me and said a bunch of jibberish numbers. Super childish cop-out because her service is garbage. I will just wear my two-week disposables for a month or two. Wish me luck. read more

I've worn glasses since I was 7, and I've never been to a Lenscrafters Optometrist. Since I was desperate to get a new prescription so I could get a pair of glasses before my eye insurance switched, I stopped in here to get an appointment. I was ignored by sales people for about 20 minutes while looking for glasses while other people around me were approached and helped. When I finally asked for help and wanted to make an appointment the people at the reception desk were downright rude. They took their time processing my paperwork while they all stood around telling stories about their weekend. I don't mind joking around, but I waited 20 minutes while they made a copy of my driver's license, and finally had to tell them I needed to go back to work and that I would call to make an appointment. The only redeeming quality of the business was that the optometrist was great, knew what she was talking about, and very friendly. I have eye issues that she was able to recognize and helped me to find drops that will help my eyes in the dry climate. The appointment was quick, easy and inexpensive with my co-pay. TIPS: Call to make an appointment. Don't wear mascara. Don't go on a Monday when the office staff is catching up on their weekend rendezvous. read more

This location doesn't know how to do business and honestly are shady. I came to get glasses in early June, when I picked out a pair that I liked the man who helped me pulled up the "pricing" with my insurance and failed to mentioned that he had added on blue light and I believe anti-glare for an additional 150+ dollars. This brought my glasses to nearly 400 dollars. When I asked what the additional cost was was under the glasses he then proceeds to say " we highly suggest you do the add on". He attempted to make it seem like it was apart of the pricing but was an extra thing. When he removed the additional cost my glasses ended up at 190 or so after tax. When I paid, I was told 1-2 weeks for them to be ready. I never received a call that they were in, I call on the 3rd week and I'm told they're ready and when I asked why I was never called I didn't get a response. I finally come in to pick them up and they refuse to give me my glasses because they don't have an optician which I was never told. They told me I could pick up my glasses whenever. I would be cancelling my order if I didn't have to leave out of the country at the end of the week. I don't recommend coming here and will never give them business again. read more

Visited on 1/10/2016 with my son. He had a flight out at 2pm from Reno airport to go back to college, and needed replacement glasses. Dealt with Kyler, who was professional, sympathetic, and helpful. He spoke to the lens grinder person in the back to make sure we would get our glasses before his flight. We arrived right at 11am when they opened, I already had my son's prescription from our local eye doctor (Bishop, CA), so it was just a matter of trying on frames and getting the lenses ground. The fitting was quick and professional (thanks again, Kyler), and everything was efficiently done. Kyler found a way to save us some money with an AAA discount, so it cost about what we expected. I know that Lenscrafters advertised glasses "in about an hour" but that always depends on the complexity of the prescription, the frames, and the workload. But, I was pleasantly surprised. The frames and fitting took us until 11:30am, and they said they'd text us when they were ready, at "about 12:30pm" so we roamed the mall while we waited. It only took them 20 minutes! We paid, we weren't pressured very hard on upsells (coatings, extended warranty, etc.), and were out of there by noon! I was very happy with the service I got. It was an emergency pair of glasses, and it didn't take long at all. I guess the key is to be prepared with your prescription ready to go, and pick your frames quickly! Most important, be sure and ask ahead of time if you need your glasses back quickly. They have to check the prescription and workload before they can do it in "about an hour." I actually really need glasses for the first time I'm 42 and also super scared,the last optometrist has diagnosed me with dry eye syndrome and 2 months later last week I saw him again and he now says there's inflammation in my eyes.. Well ya I'm sick yet I also need glasses my insurance anthem medicare pays 300$ well the place I went wants $579 and I can't do that. The lady literally said I can't talk now I have people in front of me I can't help you!!!!!!!! I purchased my glasses here about a year or so ago, and didn't completely break them but they were in a state of disrepair. I showed up when the store opened asking if they could fix them, not only were the two people working very friendly and professional. They handled the repair in under 20 minutes! Sept 2017, I visited this store to have my new lenses made and placed into my new frames...took about a week, all was ok. At that time, it was also presented to me to purchase ONE YEAR EYEWEAR PROTECTION PLAN by Asurion...for $34.99...I could have a scratched lens replaced for the additional price of $25. I signed up and paid $34.99. Feb 9, 2018, I went into the store and spoke to store mgr, provided my protection plan receipt and was told they do not have a lab in-store and would have to send my frames/lenses out and would be gone 2 weeks!!!!! when I told her I could not be with out my lenses for 2 weeks, she apologized :(....I then said "I want a refund of the $34.99" and was told that a refund was only available for 30 days after the original purchase!!! What good is this protection plan if you have to be without your lenses for 2 weeks, because they do not have a lab on-site???? Totally bogus....DO NOT BUY THIS PLAN, DON'T WASTE YOUR $$. I had an appointment with Dr. Mackenzie McIntyre today. This was definitely the best experience I've EVER had with an eye exam. From the greeter, to check in, to pre-exam, EVERYONE was incredible. Dr. McIntyre was definitely the best I've ever had. He explained everything that he was doing along the way. I have never had an eye doctor explain everything so clearly. I feel pretty lucky! I got my glasses there after the exam and am VERY happy with them. Great service from start to finish!!! read more

I've had to wear corrective lenses since I was seventeen. I hadn't had my prescription updated in a few years and since I finally got some killer insurance, I went to Lenscrafters. I went on a Monday, which I thought would be a little slow, but I was wrong. They were hopping! They accepted me as a walk in patient and had me start the paper work, which was processed rather quickly. While I waited for my time with the optometrist, I was shown some frames. The sales lady was polite and honest (thank goodness) when I tried on frames. If they didn't look good on me, she politely told me so. The optometrist, Dr. Erin Polikoshko, was very nice. She was also incredibly thorough. She noticed that I have a mild astigmatism and prescribed a lens to correct it. She also did something that none of my other optometrists have done, she had me try on "tester" lenses. One of set of the new ones and other was the old prescription. This was I could see the difference between the two. My only real peeve was the fact that, while I understood my frames were special orders and would take a week and a half to arrive, I was not favourable of having to make the call myself to find out they had arrived. When I did get them, there was something wrong with the coatings and I wound up with tiny pits in my lenses. Not pleased. I am currently waiting for the replacements. All in all, however, it was pleasant. read more

Nope - never again. We usually go to the Lenscrafters optometrist at the Summit but they made us an appointment here because they can't do the follow up glaucoma test and this one can, which seems ridiculous to me but we were to do it and they made the appointment for us. We showed up and were warmly greeted in the front by the LensCrafters store guy (the only positive before we went back to the optometrist area) and then we were VERY RUDELY met by one of the two optometrist receptionists. Then we were informed the doctor on duty did not take our insurance, which we've never had an issue with before and it's a major carrier. They said they tried to call and recited off a phone # not even close to mine - I know the other LC has my # because they've used it and they set up this appointment. They said we could reschedule for another optometrist that does take our insurance but not today - next week. So this was a big waste of time, and the one receptionist was rude the entire time, and I believe they lied about trying to call. So we left. Now LC has lost all my business. I'll go somewhere that can meet all our needs in one place and treat us like they're glad to have our business. read more

My name is Scott. It took me 2 and a half hours for an exam because when I first got there they had lost my paperwork and had to start over. I have been waiting for over a month after my eye exam. I called twice last week and no one could find anything on me, they searched phone number and name. I got so frustrated I had to hang up. I called again today to speak to someone incharge for an update on my glasses. My order was never made and now I have to go back and find the right frames because they failed to tell me when and whom to talk to about getting a pair of new frames. Apparently they forgot to take my measurements as well, has been over a month and I will never go back to Lens Crafters after this experience. My fiance and son were not happy either because they said it would take 45 minutes not two and a half hours of waiting. read more

They are incapable of managing a schedule of appointments. Twice I have shown up for my eye exam and twice I was told that they didn't have me on the schedule. This is after making the appointment in person and getting a confirmation card in the mail. This is a huge annoyance to anyone who works and has their own tight schedule to keep. I decided to come to LensCrafters when Walmart on 7th Street didn't seem all that willing to want to help me with my eye exam so I came here & received a very thorough exam & was treated with the utmost respect & dignity! The Dr. Was an older gentleman who did my eye exams including a retinal scan & explained an old eye infection to me that's left my left eye weak & I see spots out of it! He assured me everything was normal but it has caused my right eye to have a lot of strain on the remaining eye! Kristine was the lady who helped me pick out my glasses & she was TERRIFFIC! woke up one morning to find my right eye was ACHING. i couldn't think of any reason why that could of happened.. but whatever it was friday, i was only in town for the weekend so i went out instead. woke up the next morning to find half my eye was white! i was in sooo much pain and literally could not see anything out of that eye. it felt like someone was jabbing a knife into my eye every second that i blinked. i figured just give it some time and it'll heal. we decided to do some shopping and happened to come across Lenscrafters. my friends were joking and wanted to get me an eye patch so we went in. the Optometrist (i forgot her name because i was in so much pain =( took one glance at me and said my condition was very serious and opted to look at it right away. she described it as a cornea ulcer but less sever. she even called in an Ophthalmologist from another office to double check. they both agreed it was a deep scratch on my cornea, causing me immense pain and temporary blurriness. before leaving, they gave me some antibiotics and the pain almost instantly went away!!! after returning home, she even called to check up on me and recommended i go see a nearby optometrist for a check up. she was the first doctor in my life i felt like treated me with her whole heart; and that made me view this world in a much better light after my sight returned. i really felt like she cared about my well being and that means a lot. she's my unknown hero. read more

They are very disorganized. They will lie to you and mislead you into baseless fees and superfluous charges that add no value. I made an appointment and still waited over two hours!! They require you to return 2 more times just to get your prescription and them try to charge you for the those "required" visits. It is the most horrible experience as a customer in a long time. Had an eye exam with glaucoma test using eye drops. They didn't offer eye shades and I didn't know to ask. I had an extremely hard - even dangerous drive - after the test as my eyes could adjust to bright light. read more

In Reno last weekend lost my glasses started out good, went down hill from there, if they would of called and told me there was a problem it would have saved me a trip to the store. Went in for my first eye exam! The girls at the front desk were very helpful and got me started right away. Frances then took me into the exam room and explained everything to me through the whole process and was very sweet! My wife need new glasses & i am a first timer with glasses so i thought Lenscrafters? Why not they been around a while. Sales peps are nice we picked out the glasses we liked they sold them to us and we came back in 1 hour and picked them up. well the next day i went to go clean them and since i am photographer on the side I like my lens Xtra clean/perfect so I held them over a our lamp in the bedroom to check for smudges or what not and low and behold I see right in the center of my brand new 500 dollar glasses a perfect circle with lines flowing from the center of the circle to the outside edge of the circle. So i google and come up with nothing so i google how glasses are made & BINGO! When a lens is cut to the frame the lens blank is held in place with a suction cup and when a noob tec rips it off instead of sliding it off it will make very small stress marks in the plastic. Ok so shit happens i call my wife at work and ask her to look at hers under a light...SAME BS ! So just to make sure I'm not talking out my azz i take them to a local eyeglass store and they inspect them and tell me what i already knew. So we go back to LC and complain they say they will replace for free. The lady helping turns and walks over to the sales manager and we over hear her say aww yes we been seeing this a lot lately???WTF so you know about this and still pass this cr*p on to the customer?? next day LC calls and say my wife's lens are here please come by for replacement and yours sir will be 2-3 weeks out hu? Just in time for the 30 day return to run out ehh.. so the very next day my wife calls me from work and says there's something in my lens u need to see so I go and take a look and I'm like aww you scratched them she says NO! so I stick a flash light under them and what I see using my hand held magnifying glass is peeling so back to google come to find out it's the AR coating peeling aww come on man !! So thank god for the 30 day return policy I will give them one star for that. Over the last 2 weeks i have done hours and hours of research on lens this is my opinion so research yourself don't take my word for it. GLASS LENS big$$ but can be exactly ground to your prescription and maintain your prescription when placed into the frames as it is a very sturdy material. Can be hard to scratch also glass has a good "ABBE VALUE" crown glass has a abbe value off 59 basically its how transparent a material is. Down side is it can shatter and you may get small fragments in your eyes, very heavy you will end up with dents in your nose from the nose pieces and they will slide down your nose from the weight also they filter zero uv from the sun. Can be hard to get a proper coating of AR or transitioning. Hi rx can make your eyes look small or big and be as thick as a coke bottle. CR-39 plastic lens. cheap now due to everyone thinks polycarbonate lens is gods gift? has a "ABBE VALUE" of 59 same as glass.Not as brittle as glass can be easily coated / AR or transitioning. Can be sum what thinner than glass but not by much. light weight and not as prone to scratches. Filters 90% UV rays. POLYCARBONATE LENS . Filters 95 UV rays.Can be made thinner than glass or cr-39 has very good impact properties good choice for kids,outdoors peps who like hiking moto X mountain biking. very bad "ABBE VALUE" of 30 can have distortion and visible flow marks from manufacturing. Scratches easy come on think about it if it can take a rock to the lens while out and about and not shatter it must be a soft material right? It is plastic after all.....can be very hard to coat with a AR or transitioning coat. heres a test go out in the sun go back inside pullem off look see how there's like no coating around the edges now angle it around now under a weak light source see the rainbows in it as like sum one poured oil all over it? So why does LC push this junk off on us? because i think they own the company that makes it for them and it cost penny's to make this cheap junk come on think about it go to home depo and pick up sum safety glasses for like 10 bucks and read on the back what there made of lol Dont get me wrong though if my kid needed glasses it would be Polycarbonate because i would rather be buying glasses every 6 months due to Scratches rather than picking pieces of glass or plastic CR-39 out of his eyeballs because him and his friends were goofing off or he wiped out on his bike. High index lens...don't know much..can be cut thin for high Rx's So instead of going to a fast food/eyeglass store and having a tech do your eye exam instead of a real doctor and having a car salesman sale you glasses because there just as bad as one go to your local optometrist and get it done right the first time!! yes I had to learn the hard way and I hope this helps someone out from the pain and frustration I have had with LC just google lenscrafters complaints see for yourself... read more

I have worked in the medical field for many years and spent 5 years in the eye field. I worked for Sierra Nevada Eye Center, unable to get an adequate contact lens script from one of our Drs, I decided to try Dr. Shane and Associates. I deal with Dr. Shane and her employees many times a day to refer patients to them and they are so very helpful I thought to myself this is where I need to go to get my contacts. I was unable to coordinate my schedule to get into Dr. Shane in a timely manner, so I made an appointment with Dr. Reed over at the Summit Mall. I walked in and was welcomed by the staff, who were very friendly and helpful. My pre-testing was done in a timely manner. Dr. Reed was right on time and she took her time with me and listened to my background and concerns. Not only is Dr. Reed amazing, she is professional, and hilarious! I never felt rushed, and even felt as though I was having a conversation with a friend. Not only is the environment in the office professional, (which many in the area lack) its friendly and helpful.
