I had an appointment with Dr. Mackenzie McIntyre today. This was definitely the best experience I've EVER had with an eye exam. From the greeter, to check in, to pre-exam, EVERYONE was incredible. Dr. McIntyre was definitely the best I've ever had. He explained everything that he was doing along the way. I have never had an eye doctor explain everything so clearly. I feel pretty lucky! I got my glasses there after the exam and am VERY happy with them. Great service from start to finish!!! read more

The optometrists at this location are OUTSTANDING. The service level of the LensCrafters store has declined markedly. When they were able to deliver eyeglasses quickly, the premium price was justified. I can find the same lenses and frames online, have faster delivery, and save 25-30% over the LensCrafters price. read more

My sister and I had attended this place for our eye exams and to purchase new glasses. Doctor Kim was very nice. She was very attentive, made sure that we felt comfortable, and overall it was a very pleasant experience in the Doctor's portion. When we purchased glasses we were attended by two different people, Kristi and Gina. Both whom were very nice. The only problem we had was when we were paying with Kristi there was a malfunction with their program, which resulted in me getting charged twice. I wasn't very happy, and the explanation that Kristi and the manager gave me were not very comforting. They explained how the charged would drop but it didn't, it actually went through. No one offered to do anything, and no one seemed very apologetic. Except Gina, she seemed genuinely sincere, but Kristi and the manager on duty didn't have a very apologetic attitude. Which is fine, but still. No compensation offered, for the inconvience it caused me as a customer, no clear explanation as to why it happened and no solution. Disappointing. Make sure you watch how your transactions go through. read more

I went to Lenscrafters today hoping that they would have a larger selection than your average optometrist. They did have the larger selection that I was hoping for, but with a need for wider frames my options were still limited. Maria was very patient and showed me all of the options that would fit me, ultimately settling on a pair that worked for me. The process to get them set and ordered was quick, and there was an additional discount offered to me after my insurance. Overall I was in and out within an hour, and had a great experience! The only thing that would make it better would be a larger selection of wide frames! read more

This store needs to hire people who actually know what they are talking about!. Recently while on vacation in Reno my Versace rimless glasses came loose on the right side. I went to this store and the "so called" professional repair person told me that they could not be repaired, the the posts were drilled thru the lenses and I would have to get new frames! $500 frames! She also went on to tell me she had just seen the exact same issue earlier that day. I was bummed! When I got home I took them to where I bought them Eye Express In Lakeland FL, the REAL professional said, "oh let me just change the gasket right here, and in less than 3 minutes they were like new again! My experience for the purchase of my sunglasses was not great. The sales rep seemed more interested in making the sale than finding a frame that fit my face comfortably. The temples are too short, the case did not protect the lenses form the temples. I do not think I will go back due to these feelings about sales coming before my needs. I am usually an easy person to please, but this tipped the scales. Giving one star is generous for this LensCrafters. Staff is rude and condescending as another reviewer accurately mentioned. After several trips back to the store over a 2-week period due to their damaging installation of my lenses (damage they called 'crazing'), they still got it wrong the final and 4th trip by installing thick lenses instead of thin polycarbonates (my first visit, I paid for the polycarbonates). I have purchased polycarbonate, scratch-resistant, glare-resistant lenses for the past 15 yrs from LensCrafters, so I know what they look and feel like. Compared to my old glasses I keep for emergencies, these are twice as thick and much heavier (SAME exact prescription in the last 4 pairs). The head-scratcher was, the first few trips to fix the crazing of the lenses, they actually had the polycarbonate lenses installed each time I returned; apparently they ran out by my 4th trip and did not want to mention this. To add insult to injury, they lied right to my face & tried to pass it off as my 'prescription must have changed', as said by the manager who would not look me in the eye. I told her it had not, but she still insisted they were thin polycarbonates. Nice try, my prescription hasn't changed in MANY yrs, at least since the 90's. How insulting to think I wouldn't notice. To make matters worse, each time they installed a new set of lenses to correct the crazing damage, they needed to grind the new set from the old set since my frames weren't originally a LensCrafters frame this time around, and they do not carry the demo lenses for it (unbeknownst to me). Unfortunately for me, this caused a loss of shape & size in the lenses, following each visit, creating very large and noticeable gaps between the lens and frame. NOT wearable at all, and equally insulting to think I wouldn't notice gaps that were large enough to read through. And why not mention this to me PRIOR to the whole process beginning? Not a word was mentioned of this side effect until I started asking questions about the gaps. So, I had to do their job by searching for and acquiring a set of demo lenses from a local optician in order for LensCrafters to grind the new lenses for me, since they couldn't be up front from the start....... Ridiculous! And only to end up with the non-polycarbonates (sigh). Completely unacceptable service when one pays over $300 for lenses, and has been a loyal customer since the 90's. I just wanted them to get it done correctly, but apparently that was too much to ask. Needless to say, I will NEVER set foot in a LensCrafters again. 100% pure disappointment, completely unprofessional, and total incompetence. Go elsewhere, where you will be treated with respect and not leave frustrated. read more

Although I have had good service before, a recent experience at this facility was dismal, dismissive, and rude. There were no other customers. I was assigned to an under-trained technician who hardly knew what she was doing. The hostess/manager was no help because she was busy chattering with another employee. When I finally left with my new glasses, no one said Thanks, Come back if you need more adjustments, Have a good day or We're glad we got your $600 - don't bother us any more. The worst customer service I have ever had at a lens crafter and that is saying something I go here because it's fast not because the glasses are high end that's why lens crafter is so overpriced but if you can't get me 1 hr glasses why should you expect me to over pay and if I tell you I need glasses that day why would you not bring up there is another store in town let me call over and see if they can so they can start working on it instead I have to do your job for you and take up more of my time dealing with overpriced Chinese glasses. read more

They do have decent service, but the staff is very slow at helping and when they do they are extremely pushy in trying to get you to buy glasses. I despise pushy salesman in any venue. For example, I went in for an eye exam only, not expecting to get new glasses because I couldn't afford them at that time. They had a saleswoman right outside my exam room waiting until I was finished to lead me over to the glasses to purchase. Some people might think of this as helpful but it was just annoying to me. Left me with a contact that is damaging my eye. They won't issue a refund for the set they gave me two weeks ago and want me to pay more than $30 in fees to try out a new set. My nightmare with the Reno Lenscrafters started in May. I went in, go my eyes checked and everything was okay. After a mix-up at the front desk (the optometry office doesn't communicate with the Lenscrafters personnel) I went to pick up my new glasses and contact lenses in April. The glasses worked out okay. My contacts were a different story. The contacts irritated my left eye so they order me another set. The next set felt fine to me but the doctor said they weren't sitting on my eye correctly so they order another set. The third set was painful to wear after an hour so they order yet another set. This set felt fine to me, but again the doctor did not like the looks of it so ANOTHER set was ordered. By now it is almost August and I am getting ready to move out of state for school. The set came in two days before I was set to move. After an hour on my left eye this contact felt like pieces of shattered glass. I came back into the office and the doctor looked at my eyes and said that she could see the damage where the contacts were digging into my eye. She said a new set would be ordered (this set modeled after specs from my old doctor--why hadn't they tried that before?) and mailed to the Lenscrafter outlet in my new town. It sounded good in theory but now that I'm five states away they want me to pay $30+ for a new doctor here to issue the set. I asked for a refund so I can just start over here but I was denied. read more

I absolutely cannot stand LensCrafters. After getting an eye exam the day before at another location and having the contact tear in half, I went to Lencrafter to buy a box or at least get an emergency contact. They had me go to one LensCrafters after another and no doctors were on staff and no boxes in inventory. The staff could not be be less helpful and had attitude of someone working at a greasy fast food joint. A main reason of why I went to LenCrafters was their many locations and that proved to be a worthless reason. read more

Dr. Shane followed up with me today and went over my situation I detailed in my original post. She offered me an appointment the same day I had originally scheduled just a different time. Unfortunately due to plans I had made, I was unable to take advantage of her offer. She also let me know she has gone over the issue with her office and was extremely sorry for how I was treated. I let her know I really appreciate her follow up and that I am very happy with the resolution she provided me. I do have another appointment set with her other location in Reno, but let her know I am once again willing to go visit this office in future visits. For this reason I am changing my rating from 1 start to 4 stars. I do understand people have off days and the fact Dr. Shane made the effort to apologize for how I was treated goes a long way to helping regain the loyalty I have for their office and Lenscrafters. read more

They were great! I had such a problem with the original prescription. When I finally received my distance glasses (two pairs), they were not right. I was able to get my eyes rechecked right there and get the correct prescription. They fixed the two pair at no added cost, and now they are perfect. Really helpful and great staff! read more

Good help is hard to find and Meadowood malls service would be greatly improved by a turn in employees. The employee who called to confirm my appt, didn't mention the appt was tentative and even though I was given a date and time, there was no appt upon arrival. The wonderful staff offered to put me on a three hour waiting list. Lenscrafters, you are really dredging the bottom of service levels. DR. JENNIFER L. SHANE and Associates lacks the understanding of customer service. I have never had trouble with Lenscrafter until I came to the Meadowood Mall location. This will be my third attempt to correct my prescription. Even though a recheck can occur Dr. Jennifer Shane failed at getting me in as soon as possible. I should not have to be without my glasses for 2 months, which are paid for and not useable. I found her to be rude and dismissive to my complaints. Sigh. If my health insurance coverage wasn't so limited I would have gone elsewhere. My appointment was on a Monday at 3:15pm. A few days before my appointment I called to confirm my appointment and ask if someone could send me new patient forms for me to fill out ahead of time. The person on the phone took my e-mail address and stated she would send them to me, but I never received them. Come the day of the appointment, I get there at 3pm to start filling out my paperwork, get called to do the preliminary eye exams at around 3:15pm, and it wasn't until maybe 4pm that I was actually called to see the doctor. The doctor that saw me at this appointment was Dr. Heidi Kim. Dr. Kim is a young doctor but provided great care for me. I did not feel rushed with Dr. Kim and she answered all my questions. One of my discharge instructions from Dr. Kim was that I had 15 days to make any changes to my prescriptions before it was finalized. Before I left that appointment I asked Dr. Kim for trial pair of colored contact lenses. Two or three days pass before I tried on my lenses and when I did, I noticed my vision became blurry due to the color portion of the lens interfering with my sight of vision. I call back the office and spoke with AJ and told him my situation in hopes that Dr. Kim could give me trial pair of a different brand. I was told my prescription was finalized, the lenses that Dr. Kim prescribed me was the best on the market, and when I ordered my powered lenses that it may help the blurriness. In my opinion, it felt like AJ was trying to sell me a product that I was not satisfied with. Overall, my interaction with Dr. Kim was great but my interaction with her two other associates were not the best. read more

Went to the one at the summit that I had called in the frames to, they told me my insurance would pay for most of it. Went in they had the right frames wrong color but the meadow wood mall one had then if I could swing by. So I drove over to wait for 20 min and be told my insurance would not cover it until the 28th. So they said the would hold it until I came back. I came back today and now they don't know what I'm talking about. They don't have the frames and I have had enough time to write this review and they still don't know what I am talking about and acting like its my first time in here. Went there first thing in the morning, thinking I would be the only one, but there were already several people in front of me. They got me in to see the doctor within 20 minutes without an appointment. Dr. Limm Lam was so very kind and thorough, he shook my hand on meeting and again at the end. He carefully explained the information about my eyes. Gina was so helpful throughout the entire experience, really taking the time to listen to what I wanted and helping me select styles that worked for me. She was exceptionally efficient and thoughtful. She made the whole experience enjoyable for me. read more

We took our 4 year old in for her first exam today with a scheduled appointment. Earlier in the week I received multiple calls asking if we were going to use insurance which I gave the first time, then I explained to the repeat callers how I had already given the information to someone else and to please update their records. When we arrived today we were told that we hadn't provided any insurance information nor told them that we would be using insurance. The owner apologized and said they bill our insurance all the time so she said it was no big deal but it was a matter of poor record keeping. Then when we finally got taken back we were told by the owner that there was only space in the rooms for one parent. Not sure how many folks have been to the eye doctor lately but try being 4 years old and not being able to have your mom and dad with you. Then when they were in then process of doing the picture dilation the owner interrupted after one eye was done and said "you need to move them along, you can finish that later." The doctor and rest of the exam were great. She ended up having to do the full dilation on her, which is painful to say the least. The staff went a found her a candy to help cheer her up even. All the owner was worried about was making sure we were billed for the dilation AND the photo dilation and the exam. We made sure they went back at the end and took the photo of the other eye but the idea that she was more worried about pushing patients through than doing the job right the first time or making sure her 4 year old patient was comfortable with both parents in the room for the whole exam (we did go in when we saw there was room). The doctor was great with our 4 year old! Very kid relatable! Wish the owner wasn't all about the #'s and the $ because that's that's the second one that I really like. read more

Sadly disappointed in LensCrafters. We were there for at least 30 minutes looking at frames and no one asked if we needed help, I had to walk up to the receptionist to finally get support. The glasses we were told would be in within the week, instead I've called and have been given 2 different dates with a possible delivery date of 2 weeks out. There was no real cost savings and with the time it's taken thus far, I should have ordered them by my Optometrist office. read more

I paid top dollar and got all the extras including a scratch resistant coating, within six months there were so many tiny scratches I could not use the glasses. Their response? You should have bought the extended warranty! I only cleaned with Lenscrafter lens cleaner and cloth. So what good was it to purchase the scratch resistant coating??? Came down today to be told the vendor will start making my lenses today and that it will be a few more days. Hello refund and never going there again! DO NOT come to this store, go to the LensCrafters on South Virginia Street. I contacted a woman named Sierra and reported that my glasses broke after a few days of wear. She stated to bring in my glasses and they would try and repair them. I informed her that we lived 2 1/2 hours away and she again stated I had to bring my glasses in to their store. My wife and I had spent $1,800.00 on glasses in this store. Upon arrival, we asked for Sierra, who was standing at the desk, talking with another associate. Upon meeting us, she immediately handed us off to another sales associate, acting as though she didn't have the time to help us. We were told by the sales associate that we needed to go the LensCrafters on South Virginia Street. I wish we had gone there first because Mr. Anthony Kinney, the sales associate who greeted us at the Virginia Street location, is great and that location will now have all our eyewear business. read more

I have been going here for almost 3 years the people are really nice my Eye exam went will and I left happy. The reason I am giving them 2 stars is because of what happen after I left the exam. My last visit was on 2/19/16 when I got there I told them I was there for my yearly exam. They asked me if I used contacts or if I wanted to start using them. I informed them I do use contacts and they said they did not need to do new contact user process I will just get my new glasses and contact prescription. I normally only use contacts when i play sports so i still had a few left over and have had no need to buy new ones. On 6-19-16 I noticed I only had 2 pairs left so I went to order contacts at 1-800contacts like I always do. A day later I received a call from 1-800contacts saying my prescription had expired. I was thinking how could it be if I had just had an eye exam in February. It turns out that they only gave me a prescription for glasses and not contacts I had no idea about this and was shocked because I know I asked them if I could buy contacts with the prescription knowing I did not need them at the moment but i will end up needing new ones and they said yes. This week has just turned into me trying to get new contacts and the best part is when I went in and tried to talk to them about what had happen they said the 90 days where my insurance would cover it had passed so I would need to pay $150 for an eye exam I had just taken a few months ago. They just kept on trying to get me to make an appointment. It made me feel like all they care about is the money and not the patients. If they would have tried harder to work something out with me because it was there fault I would not even be giving this review but since they offered no help just asked for money makes me think they are shady and I do not want anyone having the same headaches this place has giving me. read more

I was shopping in the mall with my wife. When I came across this location. I needed a new pair of glasses. I found out the my current prescription was expired. I walked on into the doctors office there and asked if I needed an appointment. To my surprise the lovely lady said" why don't we do one right now?" I knew a had vision insurance I just didn't have a card or clue whom it was with. No problem, the nice gal asked me some questions and had me start filling out paperwork. When I was done she had called several vision providers and found mine!! I was then pre tested by a very knowledgeable young lady and came out and straight into an exam room I went. The doctor Johnson there he was the best. He was very through and even showed me my cataract on the retinal photo that was taken by the pre-tester. Dr. Johnson was very patient and kind. I had such a good experience here, I had my wife come get an exam and glasses when she was done shopping. Thank you all for your wonderful service and the most accurate prescription I have ever received. I' ll be back next year. read more
