I stepped on my glasses on accident and mangled the frame but managed to stop in time to save the lenses. I thought the glasses were done. I took them into Santa Maria Lens crafters and the manager managed to repair the frame and reinstall the lenses. All done with in 15 minutes. Amazing work!! Highly recommend!! 10/10! read more

Finally called after not hearing about my new glasses for a month. They then insisted they left a voicemail and emailed me my glasses were ready but I have absolutely nothing from them. I triple checked my email and voicemails (I don't get that many) and had nothing from them at all except my initial appointment confirmation. The retail lady did not care that I hadn't been contacted, she just insisted that they had. Furthermore, I made an appointment in advance and still had to wait over an hour to be seen. And the doctor is over zoom... They kept pushing contacts on me too, something I did not want to do(and should have spoken up better about). Awful place to get eye exams or glasses. read more

It's been two months since I came here for a contact lense eye exam. I have had to contact the store for all follow ups, information, they messed up and charged the wrong person under my insurance, did nothing to fix it. The doctor who saw me is NEVER available. And none of the staff are able to fix want of this. I always have to make an appointment just for them not to have anyone staffed that day that knows how to correct the insurance problem that they initiated. So been using old/weak Rx contact lenses for 2 months waiting for them. Ridiculous! read more

Great selection of appointment times, and the technician had pre reviewed my insurance so I immediately knew what was covered and what my out of pocket expenses would be. The front office was great and professional and answered all my questions I had and did a great job. As for the doctor, as soon as we sat down the first thing he asked is are you vaccinated to my daughter she answered and then to me asked the same question. Once he didn't like the response I felt like we were treated very differently. He asked me to wait in the waiting room which was fine until the exam was over. Then came out and didn't say a word to me about how the exam went. Just handed the paperwork to the front desk and walked away. This was completely unprofessional and because of this attitude towards us and we were completely mistreated by this eye doctor we will never be back. read more

I wish I would have saw this Yelp page before I had my appointment. To make a long story short, the prescription I was given was off and when I mentioned it to the eye doctor, he wouldn't listen and just shook his head when I told him that it needed to be changed. I ended up going to a different eye doctor and they got it right and treated me like a customer is supposed to be treated. I had told Lenscrafters that I would be going to a different eye doctor if they wouldn't listen to my concerns, which I did. I just recently reached out for a refund and they would not accomodate my request. Very poor customer service. Surprising coming from Lenscrafters that is supposed to be a brand that is well recognized. Not surprising coming from the man that did my exam because he threw off a bad vibe from the beginning. Terrible office and service. Only one person in the store greeted me, and the other sales rep was clearly making herself look busy but was doing nothing. I was very clear about the lenses that I wanted. I just wanted the standard LensCrafters sun lenses with a prescription, but the saleswoman didn't hear me the first three times that I said it and then tried to sell me the most expensive Ray Ban lenses. I need sunglasses for work and I'm looking to spend as little as possible. I was looking for a specific frame and I was given a floor model at first. I had to ask I had my insurance ready and it was only going to be $95 out of pocket, but with these lenses she tried to sell me on it was going to be $195. Cue the "it's not that much more" from her. I would prefer to have my sunglasses done soon within the next day, as that's LensCrafters' thing. According to them, most of everything is done within the hour or the day. After I go through giving her my insurance and just the most basic sunglass order possible, she then tells me that not a single one of the lab machines in her store is working, and they've been down for a week. What a waste of time. Tell me that before I come into the store and sit down to make a purchase. Their store closes at 8pm, yet they we're in the middle of closing procedures when I walked in at 4pm. Something tells me that their machines aren't down and people just wanted to go home early. Save yourself frustration and order over the phone at the Santa Barbara location and have the glasses sent to the Santa Maria one if SB is too far. Ask for Doug he'll set you up right. read more

My wife and I needed new frames and lenses. We had not used Lenscrafters for about 10 years as we previously had Kaiser-Permanente for vision care. As we now live in Nipomo we had to reacquaint ourselves with Lenscrafters. We met with Sara today. She was very affable and helpful. She contacted our Vision Insurer as our OD's office had put a "hold" on our insurance believing we would purchase eye wear thru his office. Sara called and spoke with our vision insurer who confirmed we did not purchase lenses or frames elsewhere. She was successful in releasing the "hold"! Sara took the appropriate measurements of our frames. The old adage "measure twice, cut once" is applicable here as she measured and remeasured our lens focal point, et al., to insure a proper, finished product. Even though additional customers arrived after us, we did not feel rushed and Sara was friendly, helpful and professional (Corporate, please take notice!). Sara provided us with the best price using our insurance plan (and a LensCrafters frame/lens promotion) which saved us money. One benefit of going to Lenscrafters: You have 30 days to be completely satisfied or your money back. I had two bad experiences with Kaiser-Permanente. Kaiser had to redo my glasses twice in two years due to their poor quality control (and then I had to fight for a refund), I never had this problem with LensCrafters when I used them in the past, Thank you Sara for your help and assistance! read more

My daughter broke her glasses yesterday. I called several of her previous opticians. None could see her for at least a week and refused to even allow me to bring her glasses into them to see if they could repair them or at least fit her lenses into different frames. All refused. I called LensCrafters, they got her on this morning. They did an EXCELLENT and thorough job dialing in her new prescription. They even diagnosed an eye condition she has that took others months to diagnose. The doctor spent at least 45 minutes with her and took retinal photos along with dilating her eyes to be certain she got Avas prescription just right. Her new glasses are on the way. Beautiful RayBan frames with transition lenses for $200. The last pair I bought her a couple years ago were $460!!!! I'm beyond impressed as I've spared no expense on Avas eye care for the last 9 years. read more

Ladies in front were very nice. Optometrist was sort of rude. He mentioned I had cataracts and I asked how bad are they. His response was "doesn't matter it's cataracts". I didn't have him dilate me because I had no driver and I'm sure glad. He did write me a prescription which when I went to a optometrist a few days later he also wrote me a prescription and the numbers are very different. I paid for the exam only and fortunately didn't buy glasses there. They are so over priced it's ridiculous. I asked about getting new lens in my current frames or the ones I brought with me and was told it would be almost as much as complete new frames. I checked with Costco and a few other places and the most expensive was $35. Costco was $25. I plan on filing a complaint with Lenscrafter regarding my prescription that wouldn't have worked out for me. I would not recommend this place. read more

1. The staff was fantastic, attentive, and the glasses came out great. So to the lab guys, and the girls who sold the glasses/did the insurance, kudos, you are awesome. 2. The doctor I had (male) was creepy and arrogant. he recommended a few different contact lenses, but when I inquired about the price, he became indignant, and said "I don't pay attention to things like that, I only care about what is good for your eyes." If bed-side manner was a thing for optometrists, he would have zero. Next, we spoke about LASIK, and he said I was a good candidate. I told him I wanted to pay off other medical debt first, then he said again "well, it's your EYES! they have payment plans." I am aware that it is my eyes. I love to be able to see, but like many other Americans, I must wear glasses when it's a choice between LASIK and paying rent. Also, at the time of the appointment, I had fabulous vision insurance. I just can't afford the "top of the line" that my insurance doesn't cover. He was very far removed from the patient, and patient's concerns. 3. The same doctor literally attempted to have a conversation with me about how he can't comment on the way his daughter's develop because he is a male, and it sounds "weird for a man to tell his kid she has a nice butt." Maybe so, but you know what's weirder? Telling a random eye patient this. I don't care that your 12 year old has a nice ass and is into artistic dudes. I do care that you threw it into my eye exam. So all in all, bring your own prescription and have them fill it. Great front end staff, but don't get your exam here. It's awkward. read more

The optometrist working tonight was friendly and spoke to us in a way that was easy to understand. That in and of itself was pretty awesome. The lady who helped us however, was amazing. Not only was she super friendly she also helped us get a good deal on glasses for my daughter. Like really went out of her way to help. I will definitely go back and refer anyone who asks. read more

There was a few issues with my insurance etc. I feel this place was a little dated and the only reason I would come back is because Deanna was so pleasant and helpful, she went out of her way to help myself and my boyfriend and I really appreciate that. I have used Len's Crafters in California and in Colorado but this branch is absolutely the worst. The sales associate was so bossy and disrespectful. The doctor in the office was very condescending. I have been getting the best glasses here. The quality is stellar. The thing that keeps me coming back is the staff. The manager Heather has a rare quality. It isn't her years of knowledge or her warmth that gets me to come back. The rare quality she has is my trust. She has made any problem right...like a good eye ball mechanic. I have always seen clearer in Lenscrafters glasses. It's something about the way they are crafted. Heather told me about the difference, but I think she could tell I wasn't listening. Greeted immediately. Checked frames - yes, can reuse. Used fancy computer to take measurements. Computer speced wrong size, then lost photo.. What to do? Do over. Same errors. Enter data by hand. OK. Yes, can do in an hour. Double check, Yes, can do in an hour. $247 after %20 discount. Go to lunch. Return to see lens tech, manager and assistant who "helped me" in a huddle. Two head for the hills when they see me. Manager says - opps, can not do lenses after all. Special order. Two weeks. So sorry. So very sorry. So very, very sorry. Got refund. Three hours wasted. Went to Debonair Eyes in Marigold Plaza, San Liuis Obispo next day. Nice people - Been there before. Took measurements. One day turn around. Done in house. $80 including 25% discount because they are not allowed to do Medicare. 10 minutes. read more

Honestly I hate coming to this Lens Crafters. I've gone to other locations when I was away at college and they were so helpful and accommodating. However whenever I come here to get my lenses filled, i feel like I'm inconveniencing them with whatever frames I've had because they're "too hard to put lenses in" or the lenses I want are so much work for them to order. It's frustrating as a customer to feel like I'm being an inconvenience by bringing my business in. Find a different place to go in town if you can. read more

Finally cracked down and paid for eye exam to determine what prescription I needed for my eyes. The assistants were very nice and helpful, but I could never recommend the eye doctor. He was very short and unhelpful. At the end he wrote a prescription and told me that it wouldn't work for one of my eyes, then walked away shortly after. The total was about $110. I decided to go to Costco for a second opinion... the prescription I received from there was about $70, and DIFFERENT from the one that I received here. The eye doctor was also much more helpful at Costco and explained in great detail the health of my eye. If you're eye doctor is John Moessinger, steer clear. He was very unprofessional and gave me the wrong prescription. Save your money and go elsewhere. read more

I have to say it was a very pleasant experience Monique the young lady who helped my mom was awesome and very patient. Dr. Ng was great!! He speaks Spanish and was very nice explained everything to my mom that he actually impressed me which is not easy to do. I highly recommend this place to everyone. I have never used LensCrafters so I can't comment on that business. Sorry about the confusion. Eric is top notch in every respect. Terrific knowledge in all aspects eye function and requirements. Very friendly and is only satisfied if the customer is fully satisfied. His follow on service is far and away the best. WOW! This store is a credit to the retail world! If you havent had the pleasure of shoping in a location where the staff really cares then you need to experience it! I was there today and they were VERY busy, I was in for a repair and had to wait for a while. It was amazing to watch how the manager was engaged with a customer and managed to answer her associates questions and greet every person who came in the door. The staff was constantly communicating to people waiting and really did a great job with the amount of traffic coming and going. Cudos to the manager and her ability to find and retain this calibur staff in a little town where so many times we arent served well!
