One star is being too generous! This site is under new management...be ready to redo all paperwork and exams. Apparently, they don't have access to previous records (which is not true!) You are forced to do optional procedures...if you don't, they'll cancel your appointment. As a clinician myself, this new management is unprofessional and unacceptable. They need to inform patients via email or mail about changes to services and policies. Not returning to this location!!! read more

The girl who helped fix the problem was very pleasant and within a few minutes it was fixed and she didn't charge me for her time. Few months ago I stepped on my glasses and walked into into LensCrafters hoping they would be able to salvage them. The lady was able to straighten them out no charge. Wednesday i had an appointment with an eye surgeon but the day before I accidentally did it again. Wednesday morning I walked in and told the guy what I had done. No problem as he looked at the damage. He popped opened the frame and popped in the lens. Embarrassed, I offered to pay a fee but he said " No , that's not us, it's what we do". So 5 stars for LensCrafters. I swear by them. You will too. It's what they do. read more

I just got my new glasses from LensCrafters in Vernon Ct. LensCrafters has an excellent selection of frames, professional staff who were helpful and the finished glasses are perfect. I have a complicated prescription and have had difficulties in the past with other providers. I will return to this store in the future. read more

Made an appointment a week in advance, and arrived and was told that they did not accept my insurance policy. I drove two hours! Two hours to come here, and they said they tried to reach me but they did not! Did not try to fit me in the schedule or try to call my insurance to see what's wrong. Rude and incompetent staff, I ended up going to Buckland Hills Mall, and surprise! Lens Crafters over there accepted my insurance. Maybe it's the pandemic that's causing people to take out their anger on customers, but they lost my business. read more

My elderly mother went here for glasses. The place was "at capacity" (Covid reasons) even though there were only 2 customers inside. Ok, fine, these are unprecedented times. So... they had her wait outside and brought her $400 Michael Kors glasses to her on the sidewalk to try on right out there in the rain. The clerk asked her what she thought of them, which she replied to say that she can't really tell. There was no mirror for her to see herself, and it was raining so they fogged up instantly. When she asked the clerk how she was supposed to tell, he was snarky and dismissive. If you want good customer service, go elsewhere. read more

I stopped by Vernon Lenscrafters to see if they could fix a pair of glasses that I had badly bent. I wasn't too optimistic as the frames are made out of a type of plastic. Fortunately the optometrist Seng very patiently was able to fix them without charge! He and Carla were very pleasant to do business with. I have gone to Lenscrafters in the Buckland Mall in the past, but will definitely switch to the Vernon office for any future purchases. Pam H. read more

The staff was friendly and welcoming from the moment I stepped in the door. While I was waiting for my prescription, they even helped me find a pair of frames I liked that I saw at a different LensCrafters (but all I had was the rx #). Trish was so nice, she checked to see what my insurance could pick up and made sure I had the best lenses for the best price. Eyeglasses, sunglasses, contact lenses -- I've been going to LensCrafters for years. What I like most about this location compared to the Manchester and Farmington stores is that what it lacks in size, it makes up for in service. With brands like Armani, Brooks Brothers, Burberry, D&G, Maui, Oakley, Polo, Prada, Ray-Ban, and Versace -- there's no shortage of new styles to select from. Displays are bright, well-kept, and easily navigable. There are optometrists in-house of which you can schedule eye exams and/or contact lens fittings. However, I've found that if you call independent doctors of optometry, prices are generally more affordable. Staff is always friendly and helpful. Open everyday at 9am, the store closes anywhere between 5-6pm depending on the day. read more

I bought my glasses and sunglasses in Nov. 2022. I went back in about 2 weeks time because I thought they weren't correct. They double checked my RX to glasses, readjusted on my face and sent me on my way - I still wasn't happy so went back again and they remeasured my face. They were always kind when I went back. Unfortunately because of some family issues, I decided to "live" with the glasses not being right until February of 23. I finally had my eye physician recheck my eyes (my doctor had left the practice) and to my surprise, I had been given the wrong Rx. So I went back to this store, spoke with Autumn to see what it would cost me to replace the lens in both glasses. To my complete surprise, LensCrafter is replacing both sets of lens AT NO COST TO ME. It was NOT there error but the eye doctor. I will continue to get my lens at this LensCrafter. They run a FANTASTIC business and Autumn was fabulaous read more

I broke my glasses and the lens popped out while I was driving. I walked in and in 10 minutes they heat-bent the frames, fixed the bad screw, readjusted the nosepieces, cleaned and refitted them for me all for free. No questions asked. My glasses weren't even from there. I wish more companies offered services like that! read more

If not for the friendly sales associates there'd be no stars. This is the perfect example of false advertising. Sign says 40% off lenses with frame purchase. So I pick out the Ralph Lauren frames and am then told sorry they can't offer discount with United healthcare?! The quote was just shy of $1,000 dollars! Really? The frames were only $138. Mind you my eyesight's not that bad. And just as an aside they had me sign a HIPPA privacy paper that had a list of many other patients names on it. That is a far cry from protecting anyone's privacy. 5/17/16 update. Same rx for lenses $500 cheaper at Walmart. read more

The other day I went to Lens Crafters in Vernon, CT to get my glasses temporarily repaired until after my eye exam next month at a local eye group (Willimantic, CT), when I will purchase new glasses. This was my first time using Lens Crafters. My Optometrist of about 50 years recently retired. The staff at Lens Crafters was excellent. Very attentive and knowledgeable. They repaired my frames, where no one else that I went to would or could. Also, they only charged me $10 that they are donating to eyesight research. Next month when I get new glasses, I will take my prescription to Lens Crafters in Vernon without reservation. read more

The staff didn't even acknowledge me when I walked in. They pulled my insurance without any payment or permission.This took over a week and countless hours on the phone to correct through my insurance. When they closed early when they only promised that price for the next 24 hours they hid around the corner and glanced over to make sure I was gone multiple times instead of having the decency to give me an explanation or even the time of day. When I called the location the same person that made eye contact with me then hid around the corner picked up the phone and told me I could not pay over the phone and could come back the next day. Seeing how I had been on the phone with them earlier and they did not tell me they were closing early, I had gotten out of work early and picked up my son early from daycare that day and doing this was not an option. Once I had decided to take my business else where I asked for the item number of the glasses over the phone. I was given the wrong color code for both glasses out of what seemed like petty spite because I was no longer planning to spend my $700 dollars at this store. Bought the $270.00 pair for $158.00 online. Bought the $170.00 pair for $58.00 online. Went to a local mom and pop optical store down the street and was quote a quarter of the price for lenses with the same features. Will never even consider walking into a LenseCrafters after this horrible ordeal. read more

i honestly have nothing bad to say about this site of lens crafters. They have great service with an amazing doctors office. I went in there for a routine eye exam because manchester store was full and received service i haven't had in years (and vision). They were able to get me in and out in less than an hour. The actual lens crafters associates were very helpful with my needs and wants purchasing my new glasses and contacts. They made sure i could save every penny i could while still being able to look good. read more

Yesterday I took a pair of glasses into LensCrafters to have them adjusted as they were a second pair that I got a the VA. I generally buy my glasses at LensCrafters and had a pair on I just got there. I was told by the young lady that because I had not gotten the glasses there she could not do it. I am a Vietnam Veteran and had hoped to avoid a longer trip back to the VA. I was and am surprised by the treatment of veterans by LensCrafters. Hope I am an exception and that the young lady was incorrect and this is not LensCrafter's policy. read more

I actually stopped into LensCrafters for kind of a random reason... I had scratched and ruined a pair of lenses on my sunglasses and when I ordered the new lenses through RayBan they told me LensCrafters would replace them for free. Luckily for me, this location is really close to my house, so I stopped in quickly yesterday thinking I would drop the lenses/sunglasses off and come back later to pick them up. I did wait around awhile, but once someone was able to help me, the sunglasses were back in my hand, in perfect condition in 5 minutes! Seriously, can't beat that! Also, while I waited I found some super cute glasses I am interested in as mine are seriously outdated. So I shall be back soon! read more

I have been dealing wing Lens Crafters at the Buckland Hills Mall since early January. I have returned 2 pairs of glasses that just were not right for me I am on my 3rd they can't seem to get the right adjustments to fit my glasses to my face, I have been back and forth constantly to have the adjusted and I'm going back again. Customer Service is not top notch at that location, the crazy thing is I just got the bill for 2 pair of glasses my sun glasses are good it's my everyday glasses that suck. I feel I should get some kind of discount fir the aggravation. My next glasses I will not go back to Lens Crafters. read more

Dr. Ding was very nice and knowledgable. I had gotten a prescription from another doctor a year prior and felt the prescription was very strong. My previous doctor insisted this was the correct strength to go with. After coming to see Dr. Ding I found that the prescription I had been given was in fact too strong and was likely causing eye strain towards the end of the day. Additionally the price was about $120 less than several other offices I had gotten costs from. I am overall very satisfied with the visit. Thanks Dr. Ding! read more

So far, not so good, I ordered transition lenses (1-3-17). Today I received my glasses (1-12-17).. To say the least, I am very disappointed. Yes, the vision quality is fine. I will grant them that. And, yes, the customer service was also very good. But, the lens transition is barely noticeable, hardly any darkening to speak of. I will keep you posted on how well they handle the issue. Stay tuned. 1-13-17 Lenscrafters solved the problem amicably and at no cost. I am now a believer. read more

Signed up for an appointment online a day or so earlier. Got the email confirmation for 2:30. I showed up in the store at 2:10, checked in at 2:20 and was greeted with, "No, you're appointment was for 2:00." I showed them the email confirmation for 2:30 from their office. Without apologies, they told me they might be able to fit me in at 3:15 and I could wait around. I left and went to Buckland Hills LensCrafters who not only got me in, they called my insurance company to see what I was covered for (because I wasn't sure) and were helpful and polite all around - and I was someone who just walked in the door! read more

I cannot recommend this place. My mom had told me to go here but I think the employees have changed. My husband got glasses here, not an exam. First of all it was really poorly organized. We went on a Saturday and it was very busy. There were people waiting to pick up glasses, people waiting to get fitted etc and there were only three people so it was kind of a free for all and people were waited on in no particular order. As far as the rest of the process of ordering, that was ok but I would say the prices were on the high side. When he went to pick up the glasses about 10 days later, he felt they didn't fit right but the employee was impatient and said they were fine. I don't think they're fine because they keep sliding down. To add insult to injury, when he got home he discovered that there was a big rip on the interior of the glass case and not even a cleaning cloth. That is unacceptable. Over 500 (close to 700 counting insurance) and that's the service we get?! Obviously we are going to go back to get the case exchanged but I would never order from here again. read more

Today, Oct. 11, 2015, at 1 p.m., I brought a pair of glasses to this LensCrafters because they were broken and needed to be fixed. I was greeted by a young man whose name, unfortunately, I did not get. I took the glasses out of my purse. They were in a ziplock bag. The guy said "Glasses in a baggie!" in a nasty, condescending tone. I thought, what a jerk, but I asked anyway, can you fix these? He looked at them for about 5 seconds and said the screw was broken, they can't be fixed, you need to buy a new pair. There was no way I was giving this person my business. So I took the glasses to the LensCrafters at the Buckland mall for a second opinion. I was greeted politely. The man said, there's a chance they can't be fixed but I'll give it a try. I came back later. He couldn't fix them but recommended a jewelry repair kiosk in the mall. He was nice and apologetic. I took them to the jewelry kiosk, where they are now being fixed. The guy in the Vernon LensCrafters is rude and his analysis of the situation was insultingly inadequate. If he was trying to score a sale, shame on him. I've been to that LensCrafters before and gotten good service. One bad apple doesn't spoil the whole shop. I just think that store deserves to know that they have a douchebag in their midst who drives customers away. read more
