Spencer was absolutely fantastic to work with!! I hired him on Thumbtack.com to custom build a doghouse for my 60 lb puppy in my backyard. After being unsatisfied with cheaper store bought versions, I contacted Spencer about building a doghouse built with sturdy and durable wood. Spencer was very thorough in asking me all sorts of questions regarding the kind of wood I wanted to use, whether I was interested in delivery, etc. Spencer arrived exactly on time with the doghouse in tow and even stuck around for quite awhile (must have been at least 2 hours) to help lift the house into the backyard. The doghouse was sitting unlevel on our slanted ground and Spencer built a wedge on the spot to keep the house level. I would hire Spencer again anytime I need any more handy work done! I've finally found a handyman service that is reliable and professional in OC!! Spencer and Kimberly were both great to work with for the jobs I wanted done: updating fluorescent lighting in the kitchen and bathroom and painting the kitchen cupboards. Even though Spencer couldn't come out right away to give an estimate (due to working somewhere remote when I requested it), they kept me informed of what to expect and delivered perfectly. Spencer does really good work and also put up with me not knowing exactly what I wanted. He even installed a different switch and a light fixture for me at no charge. The work was done when he said it would be done and all along the communication was great. I work from home and he was very considerate and understanding of that as well. I needed advice and construction to fill in areas between the cabinets of my entertainment center, and to hang two large framed pieces. This carpentry project was admittedly a very small one, and I fully expected that someone who had a great reputation like Spencer, would say "sorry, too busy". Other reviewers are absolutely correct...many other handyman services will not even give you the courtesy of a callback, saying "sorry, it's not worth our time", or "we don't do projects like yours". It was so refreshing to work with Spencer and Kimberly at Leoline. From the very beginning, their customer service was courteous and professional. I sent them as much detail and photos as possible so they could make the determination. And I think it is essential that the customer works together with the professional, in a calm, prepared and helpful manner. Respect goes both ways, people. I felt that their communication was excellent and that they gave realistic estimates of scheduling and costs, It's true, you may not get an instant appointment, but I'd say the wait is well worth it. To save time, I was able to email photos/videos of my repairs and they were able to accurately post a fair price for the job. In addition, I really appreciate their punctuality. We had Spencer do quite a few things to our new home upon move in: plumbing, electrical/chandelier mounting, TV wall mounts, new thermostat, (over 40) cabinet handles, and a beautiful custom fireplace remodel (tile & hand-distressed mantel). To start, Kimberly was very friendly-business oriented... just the way we like it! She was on top of her scheduling and followed-thru, as promised. She regretted that her cell phone crapped-out on her around the time of their summer family vacation as she lost all her text messages. However, because she appeared honestly concerned about losing important business messages, we decided to take the chance with them anyway. (We already were disappointed with THREE prior handymen who didn't keep their promises and would either not show up or follow-through!) And let me gladly tell you, taking this chance was worth the wait! I can tell by the pictures from their website and from other people's responses in Yelp that Spencer does clean, quality work. Our job was simply a repair job, so his qualifications as a craftsman were not required. However, he understood right away the need to keep the job simple. When we asked for specific work to be done, Spencer delivered exactly what we wanted. And the work was quality within its limit of keeping it simple. And he was quick finishing the job a couple of days earlier than we thought. And he cleaned up after the job, also as we would expect. I recommend these people for your handyman needs! Spencer can get the job done and will fairly price the job, as expected. The friendliness of both Spencer and his wife, Kimberly, solidified the deal. Handy, fast, honest, great price and solid craftsmanship. Kim and Spencer are a great family run business. I had a HOA community wooden fence that fell down due to rotted wood and so I had to get it repaired/replaced quickly. I got several bids and Leoline was the best price at the quickest time frame. Once Spencer was onsite to review the situation, he suggested building an entirely new fence. Within the span of several hours, he went to purchase lumber at a local store and some supplies, came back and built me an entirely new gate. He had the gate up fast, and my wife was happy because it was a security issue having our backyard openly accessible. So, happy wife, happy life right? We were especially pleased with Spencer's attention to detail and craftsmanship. He had to come back another day to complete the painting (because I had to get the proper paint color from my HOA board), but everything was completed as promised. I had several other neighbors ask about what contractor I used for my gate so I'm sure I'll be seeing Spencer again soon. Wow where to begin. It was initially difficult to get a scheduled date because they were so busy, but I can see why. Spencer and Kim were exceptional in every way possible. Not sure if we caught them in a really busy time, but communication was not good. We asked them to provide an estimate of some minor move-out repairs needing to be done. The day they came out, our 18 year old was waiting inside the unit, but we learned later that the person waited at the waist-high patio gate outside, didn't knock on our door and eventually left. Long story short, my girlfriend and I both called back, apologized for the misunderstanding (not our fault they didn't come through the gate to knock on the door though) and requested a reschedule. We never received a call back, despite multiple calls to reschedule. Disappointed to be blown off. read more

It appears to be a husband and wife team that have been doing this for a while based upon their responsiveness to questions and overall professionalism. I bought a house in Long Beach last year. It had this mancave room that use to be the garage. I think the previous owner was a drunken carpenter, it had the most poorly installed panelling and "custom" shelving that I ever saw. A friend had Spencer at Leoline handyman svcs do some stuff for him and highly recommended him. I called Spencer and was so glad that I did. He taped cardboard and plastic sheets so he wouldnt mess up my floors or get dust everywhere. He drywalled, patched and painted that room so nice, you could never have imagined that it was a drunk carprnters garage. He even saved us some money, we bought new toilet valves and were going to have him install them, but he said they just needed adjusting and we didn't have to pay him for that portion of the labor. I hired Spencer to shorten a desk so that it could fit in a small nook. When he arrived he took measurements of the desk and the nook, and then showed me that the desk would actually fit in the room just fine without him doing any work. It turned out I mis-measured the dimensions of the room somehow which is really embarrassing... Spencer had a great attitude about everything and even helped me move a piece of furniture before he left. I contacted Leoline Handyman Services after having called numerous other business who never even got back to me. I needed to replace a 1960s electric wall oven. A bit tricky since the frame size needed to be adjusted to fit a slightly larger oven. From the moment I got in touch with this husband and wife team things went smoothly. Email communications was excellent. They are very responsive, ask all the right questions and give you pretty accurate ballpark estimates. We scheduled a date for the coming weeks, but lucky for me, Spencer had an earlier opening and he could come at an earlier date. He showed up right on time and got to work, and a couple of hours later I finally had my oven. Perfectly installed. I mentioned a cabinet door that had a broken hinge and Spencer fixed that as well. He was polite, professional and cleaned everything up after he was done. In the past we used Leoline to fix our gazebo roof when we were preparing our house to sell. After consulting with Spencer, we decided our best bet was to replace the roof with material that will stand up to heat and moisture much better than the previous roof, which had holes in it from day 1.
