Checked out by the owners wife who was a very sweet & respectful woman, did a 5% military discount on the purchase. I get home 30 mins later & begin mowing my yard when the mower completely shuts down after 10 minutes of working. I call the shop immediately & the owners wife tells me to come by with the mower tomorrow, speak with Richard, and they would make it right. I come back into the shop today (11 Sept) and speak with Richard- he immediately starts accusing me of tipping the mower because of the condition of the air filter. I explain to him multiple times that I never tipped the mower. We move on from that & he begins checking me out for an exchange up to a new mower. Up to this point, Richard was very helpful and insightful. As he rings me up I ask if he's able to do the military discount on the upcharge for the new mower and his response is, "No because I think you tipped that mower". Dumbfounded by what he had said, I pay & then after a minute of sitting in the parking lot I realize I would much rather take my business somewhere that values their customers, the products they sell, and the military. I go back in and request a refund & Richard calls the owner who tells him no to the refund. Not only did Richard overcharge me for the mower and treat me like a liar, they don't stand by their products enough to offer refunds. At the end of the day I'm not upset about being overcharged by $4 or not getting the military discount.....it's simply the principle of how poorly they treat their customers. I would beware of this business and go somewhere more reputable who also treats their customers better, even if it means spending a little more. If I could give less than 1 star, I would. Employees like Richard are leaches for businesses- not good.

Tori was extremely helpful and patient with all of my newbie questions. She took the time to educate me and provided guidance based on her personal experience. I felt comfortable and confident in making my purchase decision at Carpenter's because they really do treat you like family. After Tori helped me decide which RV best met all my needs, then David took over to explain financing and payment options. He was fair during negotiations and explained everything clearly. An independent local transport Professional- Chris C. (850) 206-6204 delivered my new RV, helped me with leveling/ setup, and even recommended equipment for hookup, hoses, wheel chocks, etc.. Chris went out of his way to make sure I was 100% ready to go before he left. If you are in the market for a new RV/ Camper, I highly recommend Carpenter's and contacting Chris C. after your purchase. 12/10 would recommend and send my family and friends to do business here! A huge thank you for all of your help, support, and guidance!!!

AVOID. SCAMMERS. DAMAGED MY VEHICLE…read more Tech caused damage to my vehicle that forced me to sell it. Never had issues prior to having added work done at Carperter's Campers. Work was extremely overpriced and unprofessional with tape that was drooping on my heat shielding on my exhaust pipe at pick up and hanging wires I had to secure myself. Within a couple of days of picking it up, I had various electrical lights flashing I had never seen before. I called Carpenter's who offered to install MORE issues for more money. I brought it to the dealership who offered extremely pricey diagnostics and repairs worth more than what the vehicle was worth that would have just "undone Carpenter's damage". Contacted Carpenter's Campers management on this issue, they stone walled me and would not compromise for their damages without proof from dealership. All this with less than a week before my move across the country. I tried to contact a lawyer on short notice but ended up selling my previously perfectly drivable vehicle, with overpriced, DAMAGING work from Carpenter's Campers because I had to move, and I could not move this car safely cross country. Do not trust this dealership. They will damage your property with no shame.

I installed 2 Odyssey PC1500 batteries and had him build a 14.4 vdc alternator at 300 amp output. It works perfect. The Odyssey batteries are 13vnc instead of 12 volt so the charge voltage needed to be raised. The engineers at Odyssey recommended the 300 amp charge rate. I also purchased a 20 amp charger from Odyssey to condition the batteries. Since doing this, there have been no problems with any of the charge circuit and after 2 years there is no discernible degrading of the batteries. I checked the current output capacity and it has no problem in providing up to 285 amps. This is about all the computer actually demands to keep up with high current drain which is seldom. Most of the time I only use about 120 amps current draw while on HF and using a 500 watt rf amplifier. I regularly check the output with a portable Fluke 199c Oscilloscope and see good clean DC voltage with no noise even while high current demand. I do this because I have over $20,000 worth of radio equipment that needs proper and safe voltage. I have never had any damage to any of my equipment . I don't know what the other reviews experienced with their alternators but mine has worked flawlessly. Robert S. BSME MSEE Member IEEE and ASME EXtra Class Amateur radio operator.
