The furniture, decor, and amenities are really well thought out, from the coffee machine, to the plates and glassware, to the tall shower head, towels, and washcloths. The rooms were really clean and the bed was comfortable. I would return again, and I would highly recommend the Madrones to my friends. Next door, the Brambles is a wonderful wedding venue, we felt honored to be amongst all those magnificent redwood trees, be sure to bring a shawl, or jacket, because it gets cold when the sun goes down.

We arrived and were told not to get angry if our room is dirty. And our room was - of course - dirty. Beds were made like a teenager would make them. Hairs all over them. They hadn't been cleaned whatsoever. When we went to ask for a new room the guy just had the handyman clean the room and put clean sheets on instead. Does it take someone to call out a dirty room for them to clean it? The guy at the office seemed strung out, was mumbling and barely making any sense. One minute said they were so busy and had no other room available to then 5 minutes later saying it's so slow and that's why he's being slow?? We enjoyed the lake, but they aren't responsible for the lake. This is a 1 start motel that is fortunate enough to back onto a beautiful lake and beautiful scenery. When we were out in the water we almost forgot about the hotel, but then when we went back in the tv wasn't working and the blinds wouldn't open. I went out and saw the guy and asked if he could help me get the tv on, and he asks which room number I'm in and goes "oh yeah that one doesn't work". It was just so, so bad. I wish I'd paid attention and read other reviews before booking. This place should be charging way less than $100 per night, but they're charging $250 + per night for the rooms that don't even have the lake. The audacity also to charge for use of the grill, which by the way hasnt been cleaned in years. I didn't even want my food going anywhere near it. Your money will much better spent somewhere , anywhere else. Again, do not stay here.

Gabi is a highly skilled masseuse and Richard is a master craftsman, so together they have created this incredible spot. After a little bit of poking around, it seemed Lakeport would be perfect (thanks to Christine G's review); neither of us had really been here before, and the Forbestown Inn was reasonably priced for a B&B on a holiday weekend ($120, about half what some of the Napa B&B's were charging!). We called up the Inn from the Bay Area and Pat let us know there was a room available; she asked of our arrival time so she could make sure the room was made up and cool by the time we were to arrive. When we showed up to this adorable site (after a nearly four hour drive) she greeted us and gave us some pointer on dinner, the WiFi password, and keys. We stayed in the Anna room. The house and rooms were classically appointed in the VIctorian style that seems to pervade most B&Bs, with frill and antique, though not overdone. The bed was a queen-size (which felt a touch on the small size) but the rooms were reasonably large and the bathrooms were pretty spacious (though down two steps, interestingly enough!). The overall setup was just gorgeous with a backyard to lounge in and very easy access to all of Lakeport's main attractions (we watched the "boat races" at the Speedway, NOTE: NOT ON WATER - see http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ivLX2Hu9iqU). Breakfast was an omelette (in truth, more like a frittata) with portabello mushrooms and red peppers, with a good strong coffee. My girl and I were trying to cut down on carbs, so we asked for no bread, but the other couple at the breakfast table raved about the French toast. After the other couple left, we actually had the whole run of the place to ourselves and lounged by the pool. We ended up getting a flat tire on our class A 18K motor home on and Sunday and a all local facilities closed. The owners were gracious enough to let us stay an additional night without question, The hooks are excellent modern and great condition. We did not use the showers or flush toilets as we had our own so we can speak on them other than if you're tenting it, you have the means to those facilities. We will definitely come back and stay here as we have RV in several others and this one is by far the best. The maintenance gentleman offered us tire flat slime and an air compressor which was so amazing. He also suggested a couple of local business in town (3 miles away) for our Monday Search.
